We visit the area regularly as we have a holiday home nearby, and have made this a regular stop when we visit - not all that far off the A55. We ring ahead on our way and order. Great service - very pleasant & helpful couple who run it. Definitely recommend to others. Feel certain we will use many many times.

Nice to this established business still going strong. Always busy all day, no better testament. Food always being prepared freshly and good value.

Great fish and chips. Good to have the option of a small portion for people who don't have large appetites. Will definitely go there again.

This is a traditional British Fish and Chip Shop. We regularly use the take-away or the dining in option. No fuss, just good wholesome fish and chips, accompanied with bread and butter and a strong cuppa.

We always go to Davies's chippy, (currently got the urge for chip butty, diet's out the window), always a nice welcome even when (cos of diet) we haven't been there for months.

We've been coming to Davies for years on our visits to Holywell and recently we've been disappointed. We've had a fish and chip dinner and chips and peas but the last couple of times the plates had a greasy residue as though they had been used for chip fat draining and the chips were cold.

The fish is always very high quality here - haddock is the standard option. Belly pork to die for. Very friendly staff.

I am a regular to Davies, they offer great fish and chips at a respectable price. £1.50 for a portion of chips which are some of the best ive tried. Much better than anything you will get from any of the other local takaways. I have only tried the fish, chips and sausages on the menu so from those anyway, its a great takeaway. Great service, friendly helpful and make a calm chatty atmsophere. Would recommend to anyone in the Holywell area, one of the best in the area.

I have always had fond memories of a warm atmosphere and friendly staff in the past, but I was incredibly disappointed with how rude the staff was tonight. I walked in to find a lot of people sat at the bar- okay, this cannot be helped, but staff had no clue someone new had approached the bar (in fairness she was alone, but I was dressed pretty uniquely in comparison to what I can only assume is the regular clientele). I was served and sat down quietly. My partner joined a little later and I purchased his drink as he entered. First drinks went down a treat and my partner bought the second round. He tasted his Guinness and wasn’t happy. Being a barmaid myself, I tried his drink and agreed something wasn’t right. I went back to the bar to make the staff aware of this. It wasn’t a complaint- I know that when the end of the barrel is close, the drinks occasionally taste off. From previous experience, the drink is either replaced, or an alternative offered (as I mentioned before, I am also a barmaid). Instead, the staff insisted there was nothing wrong despite not tasting it themselves and, quite rudely in front of a rather full pub, pointed out that many people were drinking Guinness. I would have accepted if she’d checked that the barrel was 1. In date and 2. Wasn’t empty/near end, but she refused to leave her post and continued to essentially belittle me. I returned to my partner feeling rather small and sheepish. He didn’t finish his drink, which he’d paid nearly £5 for (this is a village pub, not flipping London) and we left shortly after. Bitterly disappointed as I was looking forward to being reunited with a warm and welcoming pub.

Visited Flint to watch the football and needed something to eat, luckily we found the fry inn. The fish was freshly cooked and was delicious. Fish, chips and sweet curry sauce, wonderful.
