Got a takeaway from here and it was amazing! We had lamb biryani, butter chicken, with starters and rice. All delicious. Attention to detail in the packaging was a nice touch.

Incredibly quick service. The lamb chops might seem steep at £10.50 a portion but was incredibly delicious. Naan and curry was lovely too.

It’s not ok to receive your order more than 90 minutes after ordering, just be honest if you’re too busy to fulfill the order

A friend who is a foodie and long time connoisseur of the dining scene of London did bring me here as he was curious to get the opinion of the foodie that I am about Daastan. Well, Dastaan is already widely known as one of the very best Indian restaurants, right now, in London and I totally agree with that. In my short stay in London, we went back twice. Next time I will come back to London, I'll make sure to go there 2,3 times (and that is coming from someone who rarely visits the same restaurant more than once). Amazing authentic Indian flavours (we tried the Bhajias, Dahi Puri Chaat, Malai Chicken Kebab, Lamb Biryani, Paneer Makhni). Superb service as well.

Really lovely food and attentive service

The Chiefs know how to cook at Dastann. Their food is delicious, I have now been multi times, and the food is always spot on.My criticism is with the waiters, they just don't leave you alone, and every time you look up there, watching you. I also find the service tip prompt when you pay by card abit cheeky.

Very nice ambience and food. Amazing place for Authentic Indian food. You will never get bored of it. Just delectable delicacy here. ❤️ I bet you will find the Best Bhajias in the whole UK here, even the Paneer Tikka, Beetroot Tikki are unbeatable, and it's reasonable and you compare to any 5* and Michelin star restaurants And rest everything is also is greatest ever in taste. Kudos to team Dastaan!! Wish to visit soon again. And before leaving I got a full bag of their main dishes which includes Biryani, korma, lamb and garlic naan with daal makhani and garlic naan which my family obviously loved, their nag even has a vibe man!!!!!

Excellent Indian food. The restaurant is quite small so I would suggest booking in advance. All of the dishes we had tasted great and everyone was left satisfied with the food. Would definitely recommend and come back again! Parking is limited in the area and so you might need to park on a side road and walk up. Since my original review some years ago, the food continues to be some of the best in the area. This is our go-to recommendation for Indian food food in South London.

A wonderful place. Great food with great service. We took 2 5 year olds and most of the food is a bit too spicy for them! Avoid the chicken lollipops for kids (great for adults) but the nans were so sweet the kids couldn’t get enough. I’ve tried 4 main dishes and would recommend them all.

It was fine, there was nothing massively wrong with the food- just wasn’t worth the hype and I thought it was really expensive for what it was. Not sure why it has any Michelin rating, I personally wouldn’t go again

Fantastic little restaurant. We had the Lamb Biryani and Paneer Tikka. The portions were good. It was delicious. The place was packed on Tuesday night. The service was wonderful. Would recommend a reservation if you plan to visit. Would definitely visit again.

Before you even go into the restaurant you can smell the aroma comes from that place. That mean something.

There is no doubt that this place offers excellent tasting (Butter chicken/ curries and breads are amazing) unique Indian food, but I have to be blunt and say, the Cafe style eating place looks rather cheap, it's so hot and stuffy, small and so loud you can't relax in this place. That was a major downer for the group. I also went on a date with my husband and we felt hounded throughout our meal. The servers mean well But the balance isnt quite right! The service was annoying, constantly trying to make you finish your wine or have another cocktail. Very pushy waiters who hover around you eagerly wanting you to finish up and get you onto the next phase of your meal. The food is Michelin but the service is not on point. Yaadien who is currently ranked number 1 curry house in Epsom on Tripadvisor (for a long while now), with 4.7 Google reviews in addition to other great accolades puts this place to shame. I am so sorry to say, but you can experience beautiful decor, calm and sophisticated dining with great food elsewhere.

These people are treating about the driver like they treat about a beggar. There is no respect for the riders. In their eyes, they are like beggars.

Absolutely incredible food, lots of vegan choices too though my husband had a chicken biryani and that was also great. They happily wrap everything uneaten up to take home, so we’re happy to be eating it two nights in a row. Can’t wait to return!

Tried this place on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed! The service was excellent and the food was some of the best Indian food I have had in the UK. They were also able to cater for my garlic allergy which was a massive plus! Would highly recommend. We loved it so much that we have booked to go again already.

The only indian restaurant i will recommend to anyone in the UK. Food tasted like freshly made, authentic, properly cooked, full of flavour and spices were balanced perfectly. Tried butter chicken, samosa chaat, paneer tikka, kulfi.. Everything was great.. specially butter chicken and paneer tikka. Will return soon

Really nice food. Service was excellent. I was sat with my back to the room so felt a bit out of the atmosphere. I probably chose the wrong food but it was not the best Indian I have ever had for the price but it was good, big portions. Really wanted something spicy with the popadoms. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

I visted over here on weekend with my friends i really love the place and the food was amazing we ordered lamb chops and kafir murg tikkaa you guys need to work on the drinks The service was fantastic Bhavneet was making sure of each and everything was ok She was treated us very well and she was very politely speaking with us which was best part

I ordered fast an on deliveroo and so cannot comment on service or atmosphere. However, the food itself is incredible, the butter chicken is the best I’ve ever eaten, it is seasoned well, the chicken is tender, and it’s warm even after being delivered. While the price is relatively high, I would say it’s entirely worth it

We went there due to apparent good reviews. Hard to tell how good food and service was, as atmosphere was totally ruined by the excessive noise from the rest of the clientele in the restaurant. We could not hear each other as the surrounding noise was so loud! Unbelievable!

we visited on the ocassion of the mother day we were 6 people the environment was very good and the food was really delicious 🤤 best dish we all like Chicken tikka the service was tooo good Bhavneet took care of each and everything All the food was serverd on time Really appreciated for food and service

Eaten in but its hard to get a table at short notice so we've had a takeaway (collection) on a number of occasions as a treat. Superb food and portions large enough to have a full meal the next day. It's worth the few extra quid for that alone but also the attention to detail and quality is first class.

The food, service, and atmosphere are all amazing! They have many vegan options to choose from, and the staff is really helpful and gives great recommendations on what dishes are best combined together. The starters are delicious and I'd recommend not skipping them if you want the full dining experience. Highly recommend!

Nice food! The meats were specially good - and the beetroot tikki as well. The naan is quite poor compared to other Indian restaurants though - tasted like pita bread with poor texture. Also quite expensive.

Can’t recommend this place enough. The food was absolutely delicious. 🤤 from start to finish the service was excellent. Everyone was super helpful and polite. Every dish was tasty and fresh. I recommend to book a table as they are busy. We didn’t but we were lucky to get a table.

Amazing food. The food tastes fresh and the flavours are amazing. I had a bit of the lamb chops which were so succulent, the prawns were tender and the lamb biryani was perfect and not dry. I look forward to returning soon. Thank you Dastaan for such wonderful food.

Best Indian restaurant in the entire area. Run by great chefs, the food is top drawer. Try the broccoli, it's a great dish, as is the vindaloo curry.

Amazing amazing food! My dad is indian and very particular and even he can't fault it. Delicious every time! It is spicy though so do ask for milder if needed.

Great restaurant, top service, food quality is even better. Table of 6 booked and notes to state we will have a 6 month old and buggy. Accomodated us a table near the kitchen which worked out perfect. Cannot fault it.

Pani puri not value for money at all nor anything up to the online description.the filling inside poori was I QUOTE ONE CHICK PEA & One almond size potatoooo piece .i can get to Ealing road and back and enjoyed 10 proper pani poori for that price. Papad £6 a plate of (1) ?! With dips/way to much.NAAN not cooked properly,very doughy inner taste.taste of mains different/OK.mains were not freshly prepared I felt as they were served very quick after the order & the texture said it all.wish I had taken photos as it was my birthday aswell.🙂

This is a lovely little restaurant, serving delicious food. They don't tell you everything is hot and you have to request to have it milder, so bare that in mind, even the normally mild dishes have a strong punch. The service was very good, staff all very polite and always trying to make customers happy. This place has a Michelin star apparently, but it wasn't anything more special than a good curry restaurant. Prices are expensive as expected, but definitely worth a visit if you love curry, probably the best quality meat in the area.

Authentic Indian food cooked to a very high standard. I recommend the red pepper prawns and the pork cheek vindaloo. This place is a legitimate establishment with a lovely environment to match.

The best Indian restaurant in the local area, every time we’ve visited the flavours have been unreal. Service is always on point and the staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive.

Ordered for home delivery. Wow! We ordered after seeing several recommendations from locals, not really knowing what to expect as the menu doesn’t extensively describe the ingredients or heat level. I don’t usually eat spicy curries and ordered the methi chicken. Whilst it was unexpectedly quite spicy, it was so flavoursome and delicious! Will definitely be ordering again and trying some of the other dishes

Some of the best Indian food I have eaten anywhere in the world (including India!) The tandoori was excellent; the curries had perfectly made sauces (not ‘one size fits all’ which you can often get elsewhere) with the pork vindaloo being particularly tasty. Tender chunks of pork in a dark, rich, spicy and sour gravy - just perfect and not needing so much spice to numb your mouth. I can’t recommend the food here highly enough.

Visited on a Sunday lunch with family. Unnervingly quiet with only one other table eating. Starters all delicious - especially the chicken and fish tikka tandoori - excellent flavours, portion sizes and good choice. Main dishes were all tasty but a bit more run of the mill / typical of British curry houses / not as special as the starters - breads excellent though (naan & paratha). desserts were all ok, Nothing super special (would have been nice if the mango kheer was warm). Prices reflective of the quality and decent value. Excellent attention to allergies within our party. Would return :)

Had a truly magnificent curry here with family. Small menu but there is something for everyone and the food is absolutely delicious. Had the pani puri to start (recommended) followed by the lamb biriyani. Also tried everyone else's starters of paneer tikka, lollipop chicken and vegetable samosas! The ingredients are clearly fresh as the flavours of the food really stand out, no pre-cooked meat added to pre-prepared sauces here! Service was outstanding too; attentive without being overbearing. Be warned though, they don't tone down the spices here so if you are sensitive to chilli you might be in trouble! Seriously though, if you talk to them I'm sure they will accommodate. My wife doesn't like too much chilli so had the Methi chicken and said it has a pleasant warmth without being too hot. This is, by a wide margin, the best curry we've had in a looooong time and we'll definitely be going back.

Why have I only found this place now? Truly brilliant food and service. By far the best in Surrey. Puts Surreys usual bland chain restaurants to shame.

What a lovely evening with such great service. Food was amazing and very authentic. We were there to celebrate my birthday, and the manager came over after we’d finished our meal to ask how we’d enjoyed our visit and to wish me a happy birthday. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

Underwhelming, seen the reviews about Dastaan, thought we couldn't go wrong. Pretty disappointed, grilled paneer tastless, dhal puri not bad, but pretty sweet. Wife had the fish curry, basically frozen white fish in a bland sauce, also the rogan gosh, not great. The service was exceptional, but food did not live upto the hype. Will not be returning.

Exceptionally busy when we arrived. I can see why! The food is delicious with some interesting variations on classics as well as unique choices on the menu. Everything was good. Quite spicy but flavoursome.

Didn’t enjoy the vegetarian dishes much. Prices are matching central London Michelin star restaurants.

Popped into Dastaan enroute home as a colleague had recommended it and it was the nicest curry I've had in a long time. Ordered the veg samosas and fish curry both of which were delicious!! The staff were very attentive and on hand immediately to check if you need anything. Hope to go back again soon to sample more of the menu.

Was looking forward to this restaurant as friends had said it was really good. I found the restaurant over crowded- felt like they were craming people in - a couple was sat next to our table of 8 and they might as well sat with us. The food was mediocre at best, over priced for the quality and some of our order didn't even arrive. All in all very disappointing fortunately the company was good.

The manager is so lovely. Something went wrong with my order and he fixed it for me. The resolution was delicious. Thank you!

We all think Dastaan is the best Indian by a mile outside London. It's in a completely different league to 'normal' Indians. Everything we ate (far too much) was absolutely delicious. Cant wait to go back.

Arguably the best Indian restaurant in London. Finally a menu that delivers. Shame its so far away from Central London but never the less treat for locals! I would visit again and again if I could.

Was introduced to this gem by a friend and have been back a few times since. It’s only open for dinner Monday to Friday and lunch and dinner at weekends and you usually have to book. Lamb chops are incredible and worth the £10 price tag (each). The prawns, chicken tikka and all starters are equally as tasty and properly cooked to a tender finish. I’ve had for away a from here and they weren’t as good as having it in the restaurant. It is not cheap, but then good quality meat and vegetables aren’t cheap. It’s a small venue but can make space for tables of 8 (maybe more…?) Parking is tricky so got to side roads instead. Well worth a detour but booking it in advance is advised.

Quiet a large group. Service seemed rushed and unorganised. Food nice but not as good as expected starter's seemed over cooked. Mains were better and everybody liked the starters. Not a place where I feel I would rush back to but would not say never. However the place was busy perhaps I was missing something but feel better options available in area.
