Darby's in Telford and Wrekin

We have been coming to Darbys for their Ironmasters Breakfast for a treat every so often for several years now, excellent value, beautifully cooked, friendly helpful staff and very clean surroundings. Lovely view of the bridge.

Stopped for brunch here on our trip to Ironbridge. In a good position opposite the bridge so a good vantage point. We were warmly welcomed and soon had our food. We opted for poached eggs on toast and sausage and egg on toast. Tea and coffee also good. A nice place to eat when in town.

A great cafe in a lovely location opposite the Ironbridge itself. Good menu selection and quality food, hot drinks at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and clean facilities.

Always go here when in the area. Lacking in GF choice, but otherwise offers a good menu. Small and friendly. Lovely coffee served here.

Excellent breakfast of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and brown toast with tea. Great location and tables outside for a good day. Staff are very efficient and friendly.

Breakfast was as fresh as can be with exelent tasty eggs and bacon. Mushroom perctly cooked. Amazing 👏. I am split for what was better, the food or the service. It's definitely a must for late breakfast. Exelent, well done.

Popped in here for coffee yesterday with my wife and kids and ended up having a bit of breakfast. Nice, busy atmosphere inside and sat at a table in the window. Lovely coffees and food. My wife said it was the best fried egg on toast she'd had in a long time!

My friend and I decided to have lunch here and I was so impressed when ordering my gluten free sandwich to be asked whether I wanted brown or white bread even before I could ask if they stocked brown bread. It is so frustrating that the vast majority of cafes only stock white GF bread! Our sandwiches were delicious, the staff were friendly and really knowledgeable re allergens. We enjoyed our lunch so much that the following afternoon we returned for tea and GF carrot cake which was also really nice. I would highly recommend this lovely cafe especially if you have Coeliac disease.

I enjoyed a fabulous cooked English breakfast overlooking the famous Ironbridge. My son also enjoyed his BLT. I was served by the young and polite attentive team.

I had read previous reviews of this cafe before we spent a night in Ironbridge and decided to eat here, we weren't disappointed either. Between us we had a cooked breakfast, bacon on toast, cream tea and victoria sponge, all delicious & meals cooked to order so lovely and fresh. Staff were welcoming and attentive, prices are reasonable too.

My mum and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat. It’s a lovely location looking out to the stunning ironbridge. Drinks, tea cake and cheese scone. The service was very good. I must say a huge thank you to one of the male staff members who found my purse in the cafe.

Food was fantastic. We went there on our last day and was disappointed we didn’t try it sooner. On our return you will have our 100% attendance. Fantastic service from you all. Thank you

We went to Darbys for breakfast. The service by young girls was excellent. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. Nothing was to much trouble. The food was of good quality and quality. Great value for money plus a perfect view of the iron bridge. (Build in 1779 engineered by William Darby - hence the name) I definitely recommend this delightful cafe. As you can see from out empty plates we really enjoyed our breakfast!

We stopped by this little gem whilst visiting the Ironbridge. We were lucky enough to get a window seat and what a lovely view we had! We had a full English and poached eggs and salmon, both meals were really nice, and the cafe itself was lovely. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed a delicious soup yesterday morning, hot and very tasty with a lovely fresh baguette. The place was warm and cosy. The staff were welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived, during the service and as we left. We were very glad that we stopped here for a light lunch.

Visited this morning with friends for a catchup, I had a sausage and mushroom sandwich and my friends had lite breakfasts. Superb quality and cooked to perfection. The service was very welcoming and attentive, multiple checks to see if we wanted anything else. We ended up ordering additional drinks and staying longer than originally planned in the warm friendly coffee house. Highly recommend and will return again soon Thankyou

Visited Ironbridge during the recent floods and was pleasantly surprised to see Darby’s was open. Knowing the breakfast here is first class and excellent value, we decided to take the opportunity. I was not let down, fantastic service, great food. Thanks Darby’s and team.

I have eaten here many times, because the food is good, and about 50% of the time with my very friendly, clean and well-behaved Labrador. Today, on a cold winter day we were turned away because they don't allow dogs. I challenged this, as I've been here many times with my dog and was offererd a seat outside! 😆 No thank you. The Bolt Hole, 30 seconds away, is very friendly to dogs, where I shall go in future.

Stopped by here for breakfast. Lovely friendly service, warm and cosy cafe overlooking river and bridge. Really good cheese & ham omelette with a homemade hash brown and a toasted bacon sandwich. Coffee very good too! Would visit again if in the area.

We came here for a cake and some lunch for the children. The food was really nice and the staff very friendly and great views of the bridge.

Lovely position opposite the bridge - sat outside under the archway with our dog - convenient space heater made it a comfortable experience with the warming winter sun streaming through the archway. Great food , fantastic value , brilliant service - enjoyed by all including the dog .

Went today for a beakfast and took the dog as we had done previously with no problem. Abruptly stopped at the door and refused entry with dog saying they had never accepted dogs which we knew was incorrect as been several times. We were then told we could sit outside in the alley - felt like an outcast. Shame as we like the place but will not go back.

Excellent freshly made soup and warm, comfortable cafe - a real find and such good value for money. Gluten free bread too!

Darby's overlooks the Iron Bridge and is open until 6pm every day which is refreshing as so many cafes seem to close early these days. It has a good choice of food for a light lunch or tea. Fresh food, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

I am not sure which we loved more...the staff or the service! It was very clean and friendly and the food was outstanding! We ate here many times during our stay in Ironbridge. Everything was outstanding. I wish when you paid with a card you could add a tip.We didn't always have cash on us. They absolutely deserved it.

Fabulous breakfast. Friendly staff. We had really tasty Eggs Benedict and big breakfast. Was very warm inside after a cold walk around the area. Good view. The only bad point was one of us having to leave halfway through breakfast to move the car!! There is free parking nearby but only for 40 minutes.

Had Sunday breakfast. Bacon and sausage sandwiches with black pudding. They were lovely . Sausage nice and peppery. Staff were quick, efficient and attentive . Thank you. We will be back.

What a wonderful find! We had one of the many breakfast dishes on offer. Everything was so fresh It got very busy but the staff were happy and smiling, we didn't wait for long at all and the food was amazing

Best Americano coffee we’ve had in the UK. Eggs Benedict was tart and delicious! Friendly and prompt service.

Had the Ironmongers breakfast which was delicious and very hearty. It was served with tea or coffee and toast and apple or orange juice. The staff were very friendly and the place bright and clean. Would definitely visit again.

Greeted by extremely genuinely friendly and helpful staff (just to give a little background, we’d booked for lunch at a nearby restaurant where staff were inattentive and short with us; that wasn’t the only reason we walked out without eating there, but it certainly contributed) and settled down to peruse the varied menu. We all chose paninis or sandwiches which did not disappoint (I had the club which I would have expected to be served in the traditional triple layer presentation, but it was presented as a single layer sandwich) the flavours and quality of the sandwich fillings were all spot on! We went on to have hot drinks and homemade cakes which were also excellent. We spent £20 per head which, for soft drinks, our main course plus hot drinks and cake was reasonably priced. Well done team Darby 1779… we will be back for more!!
