I like this place very much. Everything is good. The only thing is that the wind blows loudly in December. You need to keep warm...it's super cold.

The facilities here for visitors are good with many parking spaces along with some reasonably priced EV charging points. There is an on site cafe/restaurant serving good food, hot and cold drinks, all at reasonable prices. The big attraction however, must be the falls and exceptional landscape. It is, of course, difficult for anyone with limited mobility, like me, or even worse for people in wheelchairs. The lower falls are possible to witness with some care and I would rather the pathways are kept natural, just as they are, rather than being spoiled by tarmac pathways. A thoroughly enjoyable day and recommended.

The Howgills are one of the real gems that northern England has to offer. The peace and solitude that comes from this region not being well known makes you feel a better person for being able to just be here and enjoy the walks that these fells have to offer. Highly recommended.

This place's dark skies are legit. It may be a scenic place during the day but the nighttime is equally rewarding. The milky way is easily visible on a clear, moonless night, which I'll say is rare for the north but determined stargazers like myself know to never give up. My phone camera isn't good enough to capture the milky way, but it did capture quite a few stars (there are infinitely more visible from the eye).

Absolutely beautiful ingleton falls. A dip in the falls if you fancy it, it was freezing but well worth it for those brave enough. Take a towel. Lots of steps, but you can take your time. Rough terrain but nothing you can not handle in trainers or walking boots. To think the beauty seen in the hills today is hidden from many who do not dare to venture beyond the road, which is unreal. A very pretty walk from Malham village to Malham cove. The climb to the top was very manageable for 2 fiftysomethings even in 26Β°C. The view was stunning, you need to watch your footing at the top, but worth the climb...especially for all you Harry Potter fans. Back in the village there are several options for a nice cold drink by the river. Car parking was easy in the village 'car park' . Β£5 , but I reckon that was fair when we were invading their peace. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, and rural place, then Yorkshire Dales it is the perfect choice. Wherever you look around, the views are amazing. Me and my family had an extremely pleasant and quite long walk from Grassington to Kettlewell, where we stopped for a delicious dinner at Bluebell Inn and after we walked back to Grassington. At the end of the day, we have witnessed a stunning sunset in Dales, which made our day complete. It is for sure that kind of nature where you can enjoy peaceful and memorable moments.

The River Wharfe on Bolton Abbey Estate has well-maintained undulating woodland & flat meadow walks along several miles of both banks, much of which is wheelchair accessible. On this stretch each bend brings another different vista, from tight, rock-bound rapids like Aysgarth Falls - called The Strid - to wide open views with stony or sandy beaches and wide shallows which are full of children in the summer months. The bluebell woods are good (not amazing) and wild garlic proliferates in the woodland. There are some picturesque tea rooms in the small village and a hotel called The Devonshire Arms to the south. Best pubs are north, in Appletreewick and Burnsall - Craven Arms is lovely and much-televised, including as the 'local' in the latest remake of All Creatures Great and Small. A couple of caveats - the whole area is very busy especially on warm weekends in summer - despite the huge number of available car parking spaces it's often close to full. Also, if walking with a dog you will not be allowed to access any of the high moor in this area at any time of the year even with the dog on a lead, hence 4* from me. Best times? April/May and September/October but be prepared for mud and if you're more adventurous some of the paths can be quite challenging in the wet.

Visited at Easter weekend. Lovely spot, nestled in a valley so on a bright day you're well protected from any winds. Access to gardens and grounds, no access to the Hall itself (certainly not on the day we were there, a lady removing bits and pieces from the Hall made that very clear). Nice short walk, 10 minutes from the Hall, north to a viewing spot where you can look further up the valley at the stream and footpath below you and the walkers and families enjoying the fresh air and countryside. Good views from the Hall looking south up to Simon's seat. Struck me as a little expensive (Β£9) for what there was to see, but it did have a great cafe with some lovely, locally made, brownies.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park was a joint writer of the updated countryside code but are not attempting to implement it. There seems to be the right to trample on many of the pastures at Linton Falls and walkers and other visitors do not stick to public footpaths. Visitors often come for the day and bring sports equipment, cricket wickets and the like and damage the grass. The river there is a dangerous environment to play in and the public seem unaware of the risks involved with playing in cold water. The lack of buoyancy aids seem to be non existant. Loss of life seems at risk.
