Damascena Coffee House - Edgbaston in Birmingham

Went with friends and our kids. I ordered a wrap, it came complete with a nice long hair in it. When I told the staff, their immediate response was 'its not ours' So blaming me. How do you put a hair into a wrap??? They acted all huffy about it and said they would replace it. They do not tell you about the parking, which is free if you register or £170 if you dont. Whilst their food is good, hygiene and customer service is poor. The sad thing is that I had told my friends that the last time I went I had a hair issue (in Moseley) and they acted the same, blamed us. My son chose to to eat what they brought back. So when this happened my friends were trying to help.

Very friendly staff. Very tasty food. Halal and Middle Eastern cuisine. High value for cost. Ample parking. Central location. Wonderful atmosphere. Comfy sitting. Will definitely come again

I have now visited 3 of the Damescenas. I really like the decor, the ambiance and the food. In fact the choice and the standard of food & drinks are great. What lets of them down is the staff. On the whole they are miserable and make you feel like an inconvenience. They are busy ….but feel the staff could do a lot better. Whenever I’ve been there, there’s not been a time where another customer hasn’t complained either about slowness to take orders , no attention being paid or just bad attitude. Staff wise they need to up their game. Food & drinks wise they are spot on!

Been to 3of the Damascena cafes now and the Edgbaston branch is the best we have been to. Excellent service, with a smile, and the food was great. Highly recommended.

The world's greatest Kanafe. Usually, I can only take up to a quarter of a kanafe, but this one worked like magic , I could have two. Thanks to the person who accomplished such perfection. Couldn't ask for anything more

We love the food in this place, it’s faultless any time we have visited. The place is quite busy so I feel management needs to review the staffing at their peak times to have sufficient amount of people, as sometimes you have to wait for menus to be brought, or drinks arrive after food. Staff is very like though, even under pressure.

Awful service - we were ignored as we walked in and had to ask multiple times for our order to be taken. Then waited a ridiculously long time for our food and drink to arrive. Whilst the food is lovely, customer service is awful.

Lovely atmosphere, really helpful staff and good food. Will definitely be visiting again. Baaha was a helpful and kind server.

Yummy food, lovely interior, convenient parking and great service. Bahaa was great and very attentive.

I will never go there as I had to pay a parking penalty of GBP 170 Unless they refund me. They did not help me with convincing the park management company.

I am really upset about how the manager treated me and my kids. She came to us after we finished our drinks and snacks mentioned that the table is reserved after 20 minutes ( no one informed us prior to that) moreover she kept repeating the same sentence 3 times like a robot!!! I feel the manager was untruthful and rudely pushed customers to turn over table. That experience spoiled my Sunday morning and never try this place again.

We were visiting our daughter and dined here as she has really enjoyed the food at other branches at various times. Luckily we managed to eat early as she finished work ahead of schedule. This restaurant shuts at 8pm. The menu is varied and the food we had was delicious. Staff were really welcoming and friendly with nothing too much bother. The flatbreads were amazing and the desserts yummy. Great place!!

I visited Damascena for breakfast and liked the food so much I went for dinner the following day. Service from Sara was excellent and it’s a nice, comfortable atmosphere for eating as a lone female. The food was fantastic too. Highly recommend.

The coffee house is refreshingly spacious and lovely relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor accessories and table settings. Food is divine, so tasty, reasonably priced and staff very accommodating. We had a lovely lunch thank you.

Only stayed one night in Edgbaston but still managed to visit twice! It shows how much we enjoyed our lunch and breakfast. Tasty, super service and priced just right. So wish you'd open a coffe-house in Bristol!
