Damasbridge in West Dorset

Damasbridge es un diamante oculto que deleita con amabilidad y sabor. Escondido justo al lado de Hills Road, Damasbridge es una joya escondida y fue una verdadera revelación. Tiene una sensación familiar, todos son tratados como invitados de la familia. Fui con un grupo de trabajo y el lugar se llenó de un ambiente cálido, y los deliciosos aromas y sabores de Oriente Medio. Su oferta mixta de entrantes es una excelente manera de comenzar una comida. El Baba Ghanoush, Muhamara Mutabal y el Hummus, fueron todos entre los mejores que he tenido en el Reino Unido. Para mi principal, fui por el Plato Especial Damasbridge. Especial que fue, se lo recomiendo de todo corazón. Refrescante, es un lugar “seco”, en la medida en que no tiene licencia de licor – esto se suma a la sensación de amabilidad suave del lugar. También es desarmantemente barato, excepcionalmente buena relación calidad-precio por lo que paga. Vale la pena visitarlo.

The restaurant is in Homerton Street. Not visible from the main road of Hills road which made this place charming. The food is excellent. Service is fast and efficient. The menu prices are affordable. Great experience dining in this restaurant. We really like it. See you soon. Parking is free for restaurant customers.

So Damasbridge is actually now on Homerton Street and not Mill Road. I booked a table for the Saturday evening, but when we turned up there was only one other table. The waiter was friendly but his English was very limited causing problems with my friend's order as he specifically asked for it without garlic and it came with garlic. My food however was excellent and very filling. Their Baklava was also excellent. The toilets were a bit dirty too and could have done with a good clean.

Delicious family meal. Lots to choose from, lovely atmosphere and very generous portions. Will definitely be returning!

We decided last minute to go out for dinner and didn’t think we’d be able to get a table at this place as it’s always busy but they were able to seat us straight away. Ordered a sharing platter to start and lamb and chicken shawarmas for main - really big portions and so reasonably priced. Everything was delicious but we couldn’t eat it all so we asked for a doggy bag and ate the leftovers for lunch the next day - two meals for the price of one! Excellent service. We’d definitely come here again.

I popped into damasbridge on Mill Road for lunch for the first time, it was delicious, probably the best Chicken Shawarma I have ever eaten, huge portions and low prices. I was really impressed and will be going back.

Exceptional service and food! We enjoyed our lunch very much at Damas Bridge in Cambridge. The Moussaka With Lamb Shank consisted of lamb that melted in your mouth, eggplant, and garbanzo beans cooked in a red sauce of tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, onion and peppers, served with a rice pilaf (cost: 13 pounds)

The staff were incredibly friendly and cheerful, the food was very good quality and also very much within budget. Would recommend to anyone passing through the Mill Road area!

I went with my husband for lunch today - I had the okra with rice and he had the chicken shawarma. Both generous portions and extremely tasty! The baklava is also amazing. We’ve been three times now and will definitely keep going back (lamb dishes also highly recommended!)

Damas Bridge provided all the food for a large party I was giving. Everything was delicious. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The dishes were delivered (free) on time, fresh and hot. They threw in some tasty extras and the helpings were generous. Lots of vegan choices.

Visited here on Wednesday 1st September at around 6pm, situated on Mill road, a quaint Syrian halal corner cafe restaurant, the menu was outside on a stand with a couple of small tables and chairs. We opted to sit inside. Arabic music was playing and The waitress was very polite and smiling, we chose our seat, nice decor and clean. We opted for sembusa - a chicken pastry parcel, which came out hot and promptly. We also had a Arabic tea with mint leaves, then we chose our mains my son had a chicken shawarma deconstructed and I had a chicken shawarmas in a wrap with chips. Both dishes were clean prepared and presented. The shawarma was home made by the owners, and was tasty. The portions were plentiful and I was full. I requested a bill but to my surprise the owner bought over two baklava pastries free of charge, it was a nice surprise, they were fresh and crispy. They also sell baklava in the shop, he said his brother makes it. The bill came to just over £20. I was so impressed with the service and the genuine happy polite staff , I paid £25. Card payment was also accepted. I would definitely return for a quick snack.

Great food and service. Lot of vegan choices. Good prices. Nice atmosphere. Toilet was a bit cramped but clean. All in all a great find.

We ended up here two days in a row because our experience on the first day was just so good! Staff are warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is laid-back and homely and the overall experience is great. The first night, we had drinks (lovely mint tea) and baklava. The second night we went back for food. It was my dad's birthday and we had a feast! The vegetarian and vegan options are brilliant and the food is top quality. The portions are also big. The staff accommodate requests that you make around food, too, which is really kind of them. This place is a gem and a very special place in Cambridge. Make sure you don't miss it!

Wandering past here, we though "oh falafel, that'll do fine". Little did we realise how flavoursome and varied the food would be. We had delicious and really sharp fresh lemon and mint drinks. Then a couple of lovely aubergine dishes, hummus, chicken shawarma, and we had to finish up by sharing a plate of mixed pastries and cardamom coffee. It's a small establishment and looks quite ordinary but give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

We ordered the shawarma. The large was massive and greateat quality. Next time we would order the medium. But a great meal.

Excellent value for very tasty (and authentic) shawarma. Fresh falaffel, the best I've had in a long time - and so much food for the price! Lovely to meet the owners of the restaurant too who told us their story - the bringing together of Damascus and Cambridge here on Mill road. Ordered the moussaka with lamb shanks for delivery, which arrived quickly. Extremely tender lamb on the bone, and a generous portion, all halal. Excellent value for money, will definitely order again. Make sure to order directly on their website to avoid Deliveroo fees.
