Afternoon tea is brilliant here, portion sizes look smaller but are actually very filling and tasty! Service is friendly and attentive, calming atmosphere inside and the chicken is halal! No complaints honestly, it's very good value for money.

The first time I've eaten at Dalchini was shortly after I moved to the area. It was late in the evening, I had just come from the airport and was starving. They were still open, but it was nearly closing time. I went in, had no idea what to expect, and was hooked immediately. Such friendly and personal service when I was ready to be treated like a bit of a bother at nearly 10pm with a table of one. My office is down the road, and since then I've gone for lunch at least once a week to get takeout, often getting larger orders for our team. They do an affordable lunch box selection of rice or noodles and sauces from their evening menu for little more than a fiver. It's always fresh with great meat and fish. The owner changed some time around 2019, but most of the staff were retained, and since then it's gotten even better. They have refurbished twice, with the latest changes in early 2021 making the restaurant befit the high-end but affordable cuisine they offer for dining in in the evening. Comfortable chairs, a warm and cosy atmosphere and beautiful custom tableware make coming here an experience now. The food selection is Chinese as it would be in India, with a few Indian and a few more South-East Asian dishes in the mix. Everything seems to always be made fresh and to order, and they are usually quite flexible with request. Dinner portions are generous and the staff are always friendly, prompt and cheerful. During lockdown Dalchini was the first business I trusted with takeaway, and they have always taken great care with following the rules, were quick to adopt masks and sanitiser, and now typically open up their front windows when the weather permits. In our office Dalchini had become such an institution that many missed it during the pandemic. In fact some of my colleagues would order stashes of lunch boxes to freeze at home whenever they had to come to the otherwise closed office building, because it really is that good. I think this is not a surprise, because this place really is a true local gem where the staff, including the owner who usually works the floor, will greet you by name and truly care about their food and the happiness of their customers.

We have been coming to Dalchinis since Valentine’s Day 2008. As it is far from where we live now we still try to make a trip at least once a year. The service from Mihir and the team has been fantastic for the last 17 years (I anm writing this on Valentines 2025) and still continues to be. One of the pioneers of the indo-Chinese scene in London. The food is great and the atmosphere and service is always relaxed and never rushed. Thank you guys for keeping up such a great establishment for so many years!

Only a 4-star for atmosphere because it was a Monday night. Fabulous food, took me back to my childhood days eating Indian-Chinese food in Calcutta. Attentive but not intrusive service and portions just right, though they look initially too big! Will definitely be back!

Recomiendo probar los deliciosos entrantes: champiñón crujiente, patatas kung pao, gobi seco de Manchuria. El pollo kung pao, el pollo Hakka chili o el curry de coco de pescado son absolutamente deliciosos

We booked and pre-ordered their afternoon tea. Got there and waited at least 30 minutes before getting served. Started to wonder what was the point of them asking for us to pre-order what we wanted in our afternoon tea. The service was very slow and when the food was served, my wife and I were not very impressed. I'm sure they serve other good things here but the afternoon tea is definitely not one of their best.

At best it was okay. My husband and I came for our anniversary on a Saturday and were disappointed with the whole experience as the reviews were really good. During service there was only one waiter with another in training and it was too much for the one guy to handle. Their focus was mainly in training the newbie and we had to call for service each time, waiting a while in between. The food was okay at best, don't get me wrong it was lovely, but more like a Chinese and Indian take out that looks fancy. After two starters and one main, with the addition of Szechuan noodles and drinks, coming in at £75 is steep. Any way, hope others find it better.

Estábamos pensando en visitar 'Dalchini' después de leer las muy buenas críticas en Tripadvisor, pero era una noche helada, así que decidimos tener uno de sus pedidos para llevar en su lugar. No era barato a £ 80 + para tres de nosotros para una comida para llevar, pero pensamos que si lo disfrutamos que luego visitar el restaurante en sí. La comida tardó algo más de una hora en llegar, lo que no supuso ningún problema y cuando la abrimos algunos cartones, como el arroz hervido, estaban calientes, mientras que otros alimentos no lo estaban tanto. También pedimos el arroz frito especial como acompañamiento. Empezamos con unos Spring Rolls de verduras que probablemente eran la mejor parte de la comida, pero no de primera categoría. Fuimos por el pollo limón que era fino y seco en frío rodajas de pollo con una olla separada de salsa de limón que tuvimos que verter sobre el pollo - no funcionó particularmente bien. También pedimos unas gambas picantes que eran principalmente una salsa glutinosa roja y las gambas estaban en el lado pequeño y no tan inspirador. Como tercer plato principal optamos por un pollo Chow Mein con cebollas fritas separadas que tenía trozos de pollo bastante viscosos y no estaba inspirado. La comida se enfrió rápidamente y tuve que cocinar un poco de arroz que deberíamos haber hecho con toda la comida. Sobre la fuerza de nuestra comida de Dalchini decidimos que vamos a darle una falta para una visita real. Una comida decepcionante por el precio pagado!

Decided to go for lunch at the Dalchini, and straight away i was impressed with the warmth and the interior decor of the restaurant, It was a bit quiet being a monday afternoon, But the food and service was second to none, And also the owner/staff we're very friendly and accommodating, And i was also informed by the owner that this is there 25th year anniversary of the restaurant being in business Which is amazing, Knowing how many restaurant's that are closing every month. We visited today for afternoon tea which is a very different concept. Wow the food was excellent and kept having the mix of Indo Chinese and home made cakes and scones. Loved it and I would recommend to anyone to visit this place and to have a relaxing afternoon tea. Planned to visit evening dinner soon with my family and friends. 5*

Went for afternoon tea and it was petty quiet and the platters were delicious but the scones were a little dry despite the lovely clotted cream and jam (which was bangin'). I enjoyed the service thoroughly and the tea options were good and quite unique. I'd highly recommend and would return!

Came here for a birthday dinner celebration with my boyfriend’s family. The staff were very attentive and accommodative especially Mihir. We had a wonderful time and the food was delicious.

We came for afternoon tea for a birthday tree and it was delicious and truly original! Beautiful sandwiches and Indian savouries and especially the cheese and raisin scones which I have never had before and were amazing. Do come and try it.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dalchini and was truly impressed! Warm ambiance, friendly staff, and the food was fantastic. The Crunchy Mushroom was a total winner - crispy and packed with flavor, especially with that tangy sauce. Highly recommend! The Dalchini Special Fried Rice was spot on too—a perfect mix of chicken, prawns, and veggies, with the rice cooked just right. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be back soon!

We are frequent customers of Dalchini and have always enjoyed the food at the restaurant, and when we have ordered in. However, this time we were disappointed with the quality of food, it almost was hard to believe that it was from Dalchini. We ordered the chilli garlic potatoes, which tasted like french fries/chips in a ton of tomato ketchup. The other dishes - szechuan paneer was a milder version of the ketchup base but a combination of these two, with vegetable hakka noodles was such an overdose of tangy sweet tomato ketchup that we just couldn't eat them. Very disappointed and probably will not be ordering in again.

If you're Indian and you crave for Indo-Chinese food, you should definitely try the food here. Amazing food and service!

Dalchini brought back so many memories of my time in Dubai, where Indo-Chinese cuisine was a staple! After recently moving to London and struggling to find authentic Indo-Chinese food here, dining at Dalchini was a true delight. The dishes were flavourful and reminiscent of the ones I used to enjoy, bringing back those familiar tastes. My friend and I had a wonderful time. The interiors are cosy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff were warm and attentive, making the experience even better. We’ll definitely be going back soon!

Very pleasant service and a lovely small cosy restaurant. Unfortunately, the food did not impress us at all. We ordered 4 different dishes and all were extremely salty, the flavours were totally lost due to the high salt content, the egg fried rice and all 4 main dishes were overly salty so one couldn’t taste any other flavours.

We’ve eaten at Dalchini many times over the years and always enjoyed it, so when we saw they were offering afternoon tea we were keen to try it. We were not disappointed - it was fantastic. The’ve found a way to combine the traditional English approach with their own cuisine and it’s really effective. The food was lovely, including sandwiches, Indian snacks, cakes and scones, and there was a good choice of tea. On top of all this, it was very good value for money and the staff were really friendly to us. We will definitely been returning.

The food was very nice and dishes came together. The wait for service was a little long but this did not stop us from having a nice evening. The cocktails were nice. The desserts were also well received. Overall a great place to eat and I will come back again.

As someone who has eaten at a lot of both Indian and Chinese restaurants, but had never tried Indo-Chinese cuisine before, I gotta say, Dalchini was delicious! The gobi Manchurian, crispy shredded lamb and Hakka steamed fish were all standout dishes. Look forward to returning soon! Highly recommended.

I was craving some Chinese food again as I missed it, but came across this restaurant that does Chinese-Indian fusion which was very interesting to have stumbled across on Google. I love restaurants that display their history and delve into the origins of the cultural influences behind their food. I opted for the afternoon tea where I opted for the shredded chicken sandwiches, crispy chilli garlic paneer and oolong tea. The sandwiches were the star of the show. They were amazing and seasoned well with a hint of spice from the pepper, the samosa was delicious and crispy with the garlic paneer pairing well with the mint sauce. As I was getting full, I only had room for the scones which were small in size, but nice paired with the jam. Clotted cream was more of a light and runny consistency compared to other creams I’ve had. The dry fruit tea cake was not too sweet which was good and tasted lovely. Service was friendly. All in all, £17.95 for one person was reasonable. Toilets were well kept with a beautiful sink. Great experience overall.

It's one of our favourite go to places for authentic Indian Chinese food (Kolkata style). The food is great, the service is great and you can't go wrong with the ambience!

I recently visited Dalchini and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so I recommend reserving a table, especially for larger groups. I booked for seven people, and although the times I wanted weren't available online, a quick phone call secured us a table at our desired time. The decor inside is pleasant, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I found the pricing very fair given the generous portion sizes and the rich, flavorful dishes. Dalchini is a great find, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

Great place for a relaxed evening

Dalchini are currently advertising themselves as the 1st "indo-chinese" restaurant in London serving in Wimbledon for 25 years. That may be true but is at best misleading bcause for the majority of that 25 years this restaurant was run by its founder, who was born into both heritages and had the vision and talent to create this restaurant and its then unique cuisine. Current owners bought Dalchini a few years ago. No mention of that in their "our story" website page. The food served by the founder and her team was indeed delicious. Given they are now taking total credit for someone else's vision and success makes me want to pass on returning to Dalchini under the current management.

Love this place!!! . I don't say this lightly at all. I've been going there on and off for years and I have never been disappointed... Food is so good, my vegetarian choices are always shared...and the carnivores are pleasantly surprised. Don't change a thing Dalchini peeps. Probably the best meal I've had this year!!!

Worst delivery service by the restaurant after ordering the food for around 2 hrs they refused to deliver and cancelled order by giving lame excuse that delivery driver refuse to deliver. And that 2 hrs it was showing on the way in the app. No one did bother to inform us anything. When I called the restaurant then I got to know that delivery cancelled.

Dalchini offers exceptional Indo-Chinese cuisine. The Chicken Lollipop is crispy and flavorful, and the Manchurian is tender and perfectly spiced. The warm ambiance and attentive service made for a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended!
