Dalchini in Merton

We visited today for afternoon tea which is a very different concept. Wow the food was excellent and kept having the mix of Indo Chinese and home made cakes and scones. Loved it and I would recommend to anyone to visit this place and to have a relaxing afternoon tea. Planned to visit evening dinner soon with my family and friends. 5*

Went for afternoon tea and it was petty quiet and the platters were delicious but the scones were a little dry despite the lovely clotted cream and jam (which was bangin'). I enjoyed the service thoroughly and the tea options were good and quite unique. I'd highly recommend and would return!

The food is lip smacking delicious! It worked well with all our girly stories. Lovely place to enjoy and relax with friends and family. (Some small issues that’s why I can’t give 5* to the last two positions) I will definitely be returning!

Came here for a birthday dinner celebration with my boyfriend’s family. The staff were very attentive and accommodative especially Mihir. We had a wonderful time and the food was delicious.

Parag, Anurag & the wonderful chef served us an amazing dinner. So tasty & perfect portion sizes! Couldn’t recommend this lovely restaurant more.

We came for afternoon tea for a birthday tree and it was delicious and truly original! Beautiful sandwiches and Indian savouries and especially the cheese and raisin scones which I have never had before and were amazing. Do come and try it.

One of the best Indo-Chinese food in London. The pepper paneer is a must try with their home made sauce. Veg fried rice / burnt garlic rice with gravy Manchurian is our go to food!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dalchini and was truly impressed! Warm ambiance, friendly staff, and the food was fantastic. The Crunchy Mushroom was a total winner - crispy and packed with flavor, especially with that tangy sauce. Highly recommend! The Dalchini Special Fried Rice was spot on too—a perfect mix of chicken, prawns, and veggies, with the rice cooked just right. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be back soon!

We are frequent customers of Dalchini and have always enjoyed the food at the restaurant, and when we have ordered in. However, this time we were disappointed with the quality of food, it almost was hard to believe that it was from Dalchini. We ordered the chilli garlic potatoes, which tasted like french fries/chips in a ton of tomato ketchup. The other dishes - szechuan paneer was a milder version of the ketchup base but a combination of these two, with vegetable hakka noodles was such an overdose of tangy sweet tomato ketchup that we just couldn't eat them. Very disappointed and probably will not be ordering in again.

Dalchini brought back so many memories of my time in Dubai, where Indo-Chinese cuisine was a staple! After recently moving to London and struggling to find authentic Indo-Chinese food here, dining at Dalchini was a true delight. The dishes were flavourful and reminiscent of the ones I used to enjoy, bringing back those familiar tastes. My friend and I had a wonderful time. The interiors are cosy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff were warm and attentive, making the experience even better. We’ll definitely be going back soon!

If you're Indian and you crave for Indo-Chinese food, you should definitely try the food here. Amazing food and service!

Very pleasant service and a lovely small cosy restaurant. Unfortunately, the food did not impress us at all. We ordered 4 different dishes and all were extremely salty, the flavours were totally lost due to the high salt content, the egg fried rice and all 4 main dishes were overly salty so one couldn’t taste any other flavours.

We had been meaning to come here for over six months and it was well worth the wait! Might be the best food we've had in London! The star of the show was the cauliflower Manchurian. And the service was excellent. Thank you Dalchini. We will be returning.

The food was very nice and dishes came together. The wait for service was a little long but this did not stop us from having a nice evening. The cocktails were nice. The desserts were also well received. Overall a great place to eat and I will come back again.

We’ve eaten at Dalchini many times over the years and always enjoyed it, so when we saw they were offering afternoon tea we were keen to try it. We were not disappointed - it was fantastic. The’ve found a way to combine the traditional English approach with their own cuisine and it’s really effective. The food was lovely, including sandwiches, Indian snacks, cakes and scones, and there was a good choice of tea. On top of all this, it was very good value for money and the staff were really friendly to us. We will definitely been returning.

First time visiting Dalchini as love love love indo Chinese cuisine. Definitely won’t be my last time. My other half and I thoroughly enjoyed the food! Service was very good also. Beautiful decor and calm ambiance to really enjoy and indulge in the beautiful food.

As someone who has eaten at a lot of both Indian and Chinese restaurants, but had never tried Indo-Chinese cuisine before, I gotta say, Dalchini was delicious! The gobi Manchurian, crispy shredded lamb and Hakka steamed fish were all standout dishes. Look forward to returning soon! Highly recommended.

I was craving some Chinese food again as I missed it, but came across this restaurant that does Chinese-Indian fusion which was very interesting to have stumbled across on Google. I love restaurants that display their history and delve into the origins of the cultural influences behind their food. I opted for the afternoon tea where I opted for the shredded chicken sandwiches, crispy chilli garlic paneer and oolong tea. The sandwiches were the star of the show. They were amazing and seasoned well with a hint of spice from the pepper, the samosa was delicious and crispy with the garlic paneer pairing well with the mint sauce. As I was getting full, I only had room for the scones which were small in size, but nice paired with the jam. Clotted cream was more of a light and runny consistency compared to other creams I’ve had. The dry fruit tea cake was not too sweet which was good and tasted lovely. Service was friendly. All in all, £17.95 for one person was reasonable. Toilets were well kept with a beautiful sink. Great experience overall.

It's one of our favourite go to places for authentic Indian Chinese food (Kolkata style). The food is great, the service is great and you can't go wrong with the ambience!

I recently visited Dalchini and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so I recommend reserving a table, especially for larger groups. I booked for seven people, and although the times I wanted weren't available online, a quick phone call secured us a table at our desired time. The decor inside is pleasant, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I found the pricing very fair given the generous portion sizes and the rich, flavorful dishes. Dalchini is a great find, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

Can't say enough! Super friendly and the chili basil chicken gave me flashbacks to Thailand, which I've visited a dozen times! Absolutely phenomenal!

Great place for a relaxed evening

Dalchini are currently advertising themselves as the 1st "indo-chinese" restaurant in London serving in Wimbledon for 25 years. That may be true but is at best misleading bcause for the majority of that 25 years this restaurant was run by its founder, who was born into both heritages and had the vision and talent to create this restaurant and its then unique cuisine. Current owners bought Dalchini a few years ago. No mention of that in their "our story" website page. The food served by the founder and her team was indeed delicious. Given they are now taking total credit for someone else's vision and success makes me want to pass on returning to Dalchini under the current management.

Love this place!!! . I don't say this lightly at all. I've been going there on and off for years and I have never been disappointed... Food is so good, my vegetarian choices are always shared...and the carnivores are pleasantly surprised. Don't change a thing Dalchini peeps. Probably the best meal I've had this year!!!

Worst delivery service by the restaurant after ordering the food for around 2 hrs they refused to deliver and cancelled order by giving lame excuse that delivery driver refuse to deliver. And that 2 hrs it was showing on the way in the app. No one did bother to inform us anything. When I called the restaurant then I got to know that delivery cancelled.

Great place for indo Chinese food

Dalchini offers exceptional Indo-Chinese cuisine. The Chicken Lollipop is crispy and flavorful, and the Manchurian is tender and perfectly spiced. The warm ambiance and attentive service made for a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended!

Updating my review to include Holy Brew and the new Afternoon Tea offering. Holy Brew is the speakeasy cocktail bar downstairs. Drinks are delicious and you'll find your usual with an added twist. Beautifully decorated, sumptuous surroundings, it's cute and moody and sexy and fun all in one. Oh and the Bar bites are yummy!! The afternoon tea is served on very pretty cake stands, with a selection of Asian fusion savoury and sweet. Nice selection of teas or prosecco if you wish. Staff, as always, are friendly and efficient! Wonderful restaurant serving an interesting and delicious Asian fusion menu. Service was attentive, nothing was too much, in fact they went out of the way to ensure the food was perfect for us. Will definitely be returning... over and over!

Have been going to Dalchini for nearly 14 years and it’s our favourite restaurant. Food is amazing, the staff are brilliant. My 10 year old daughter loves the chicken lollipops! Now with the Speak Easy bar downstairs with amazing cocktails and the afternoon tea this is the best place to go in Wimbledon Park!

Amazing food and service at Dalchini

My husband and I live close to the restaurant for 9 months and only today we decided to give it a try. We were very positively surprised with the food. Everything we ordered from the starters to the desert was really tasty! We will be coming back soon.

Had the most wonderful meal at Dalcini - the food is delicious (I would recommend the house speciality Crunchy Mushrooms, Chicken Manchurian and Chocolate Delight). The service and ambience was faultless. Would also highly recommend you visit their speakeasy Holy Brew for a cocktail before and after your meal.

We celebrated our kid's birthday at Dalchini and had a memorable time. One of the best restaurants in London. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.

I enjoyed the most wonderful evening here- we had the “ginger paneer, prawn manchurian, Hakka noodles” and the service was so quick and the quality was wonderful. We also had two lovely deserts that were equally well presented and really tasty.

It's been a long time since we've been to Dalchinis but I was so concerned about the waste of gas being used for the outdoor heater that I thought I should mention it because I don't think it's right that restaurants should be consuming so many fossil fuels and blatantly wasting this fuel outside the restaurant there's no people sitting outside I've never seen people utilized that heat and it's just a waste of money and Resource and it's just a poor show

Dalchini’s is a restaurant local to me and my family and we have loved coming here for years! The service is always great, attentive and kind. The food is really flavoursome and they have extended their menu so there is plenty to chose from. 10/10 would thoroughly recommend to all.

4.5 STARS Another one of my favourites in London! Being an Indian, finding Indo-Chinese food abroad can be a task. But Dalchini has definitely cracked it. The chef always makes sure to give us the taste we want, and modify dishes accordingly. The menu is great, with a wide variety to choose from. Quite a nice blend of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I always find myself going back to Dalchini whenever I crave good, tasty food.

We had a lovely family lunch here- all ages! Everyone loved the food including our 5 year old, the service was great and we’ll definitely be back
