The Ravensbury in Merton

Attended a paid event 8/2/25, very busy well attended, frisked on door, service wasn’t great, bar staff were trying to pour double spirits as the default. As it was drinks were very expensive, a round seemed to be rounded up to nearest £2.75.

We hired the venue for my baby naming ceremony and to be honest we are so happy with everything starting from Mr. Nilay who helped us with all the planning food recommendations as well the food was excellent we had Chicken Tikka Masala Naan Veg Kadai Chicken/ Veg Biryani. The staff was amazing who Sunil, Ayuesh and Ashi they were catering to all our needs as well our guest were super delighted and happy. And the place is simply beautiful with the Music and Lovely Ambience. Thank you for the lovely hospitality we all loved it.

Ashe had absolutely amazing service ! She was great. Food was very good especially naan bread.

Security pleasant and a laugh, nice surroundings, food was lovely good size portions even the starters. A wide selection to choose from. Bar area is adequate for a small group. Good dj on the weekend playing soul hip hop... caution do not eat at the entrance of the bar. That's where the kitchen door is and the smell of food lingers on everyone that sits there as there's no a/c or a vent.

I came for my birthday and the food was well prepared, delicious and reasonably priced . I ordered the Chicken chaap with Pilau rice . The servers were very pleasant and checked our table consistently to make sure we were ok. It’s my second visit to the restaurant and I know I will return.

The manager Nilay is friendly, approachable and comes across extremely professional. We had a wedding event and made it quite successful and arranged everything effectively. He had suggestions regarding decor, cakes, balloon, food and even pictures as well as the DJ. His team along with Sunil and Amit were helpful and made the whole evening a wonderful and memorable one.

Incredible food, flavoursome and lovely venue, lavish!. One of the best curries I have had in a while and the grill meats are really good. Very tasty!

The manager for today (21/11/24) was absolutely exceptional, he was friendly and very accommodating to our needs. I 100% recommend this place to anyone who wants a good food/bar experience

Please watch out for the 'discretionary gratuity' that is sneakily added to your bill. Also, do specify the size of your drinks as you will get the biggest by default. Unfortunately, the overall service didn't quite match the high food prices of this place.

Thank you to nell and aashi absolutely amazing customer service so happy with the staff and there polite behavior helped me through out as we were 20 people it took us one whole hour but Aashi patiently delay with all of us and neil the general manager he was very helpful and welcoming This is my 3rd time for our Christmas dinner parties always glad to chose ravensbury for our dinner .

Had our work Christmas dinner there and it was our first time. The place, atmosphere, service and food are top notch 👌👌👌 i booked weeks ago and spoke with Nilay who was very helpful to secure the booking and made sure our experience on that evening was fantastic. We had a great time. Highly recommended.

We had a great afternoon at Ravensbury today. Good food, great service by friendly staff and wonderful ambiance to spend time with family or friends.

I ordered Manchurian dry and chilli Panner one of the best in the area staff are so friendly they actually help you to make right choice make sure you visit this place I called his my local spot in the area

While I am sure food is great given the good rating, Manager needs to be more customer service oriented. Basic I would expect from any good and established restaurant. Seems staff is least interested in understanding what you need and be cutting in between looks like normal. We want to run a small gathering of 20 pax and all Manager was interested in upselling private space of 50+. Having customer oriented staff is equally important as having good food and ambience.

Welcoming on arrival - the food could be presented much better with garnish so it looks more appetising and not just “plonked” on the bare tables. I would have also expected a vegetable curry with the biryanis given prices charged.

Attended over the weekend for a 50th Birthday Party. I had seen the venue before but had never attended. The venue was amazing, the staff excellent, friendly and very helpful. The resident DJ was on point and the sound system had enough bass and treble. There was also an outdoor area which was quite large which had seating and tables. If I were marking out of 10, I would give it nine and a half. Definitely intend to go back

Enjoyed a wonderful evening at this venue. The main eating area is nicely decorated and is a large space. It's approximately 30 feet in length and 20 feet in width. My party booked a private area that had access to an outside area (will be a great spot in the summer), the bar is also situated in this area and it has great facilities: the set up consists of a big screen, various light settings and DJ facilities. Our setup was for a two course self-serve eat as much as you like buffet: starter and main course. The starter consisted of a choice of three options: spring rolls, king prawns, and Lamb seek kebab. The main course included Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Korma, bombay alloo, vegetable rice, and nan bread. This course cost £35. Overall, the food was enjoyable, the King Prawns coated in batter are some of the best I have had, the spring rolls were tasty, and the meet options were seasoned well.

-Best Asian restaurant in South London. Excellent food lovely atmosphere Update 2024: menu has reduced drastically since covid. Selection is not what it used to be, but the food on offer is still tasty and the place is still a nice vibe.

We attended to celebrate my sisters birthday. It was a total disaster, the took almost 2 hours to complete our meals . We had to send back some of our food as it was uncooked. The cocktail tasted nothing like the ingredients listed about it on the drinks Menu. Definitely need a new bar man to make proper drinks, staff seems to be overwhelmed with number of customers and not enough of them. Definitely won't be going back. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone 😕. We spent so much money for 38 of us that night and it wasn't worth a penny!!

The food is over priced and wasn’t even nice. It lacked flavour and was really spicy. They served my child gone off apple juice then had the cheek to charge me for it. The take away containers smelt really bad like they’d been sitting there for months And the waiters themselves didn’t smell particularly good. Definitely won’t be going back, waste of money

Not like how it used to be, food we ordered was very salty and tasted like it was just slapped with a mixture of sauces. For the price paid, we didn't enjoy the food.

Good food and good ambience! All the servers were very friendly, especially Nimesh! Lamb vindaloo was really good and spicy! Chicken chowmein was also really tasty!

We hired this beautiful venue for my husband's 60th birthday party earlier this month, and everything about it was absolutely brilliant. The manager, Nilag, was the best manager I have come across in recent years. He clearly understands customer service and provides a professional, helpful, friendly, efficient, caring service. He was great from the viewing of the premises to the end of the party itself. In fact all of the staff were brilliant including the security. 10/10 for all their effort. The venue is a restaurant/ bar modern sleek setting that is clean and inviting. The bar is well stocked, and they even made sure our favourite drink was available. Although we didn't have food for our occasion, there is catering available. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Situated on the main road, so was to find, with limited parking also available. Very competitive hire rates, too! I would highly recommend hiring The Ravensbury to anyone who is looking for a good place to have a great time. Thanks to all the staff at the Ravensbury for making my husband's birthday such a success. We really appreciate it.

Good food and excellent service and lovely atmosphere

Preordered food 7 days in advance of event. Arrived at venue at 7pm and got served 1hr later with drinks and food arrived at 9pm 2hrs later! My poor 85 year old father nearly fell asleep. 3 orders of Salt and pepper wings were uncooked and bloody and thai green curry order as mild came as spicy. Please can Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares come and sort this establishment out. Was so tired of all the mistakes with the food and orders it put me off eating. Night spoilt. The worse things is this place could be really great. Too many items on the menu makes it hard to keep up. Family member coming back to you on Sunday to get the bill.

A super spot for all Indian & Pan-Asian delicacies with a separate bar and restaurant. There is a warming atmosphere to the place with vibrant lighting. The food itself was very tasty, especially the Indian side, with large portion sizes. The general manager was kind enough to give us his recommendations and left us very happy having tried new Indian cuisinse - especially recommending the Indian take on carrot cake with ice cream.

Fantastic food, service and hospitality. The pani puri, raita and mixed grill were exceptional. We had our 1 year old with us and they went out of their way to accomodate for him (eg cleaning his bottles etc unprompted). Finally, they overheard that it was my birthday and gave us complimentary cake. Cannot recommend enough!

We had my son’s surprise 18th birthday party in the bar lounge. It was a great event, Nilay and his team were wonderful, professional and friendly. Security was friendly and the outside space is great. Nilay looked after us so well and took the stress out of organising an event, so I was able to just host and enjoy! All my guests commented on how the buffet food was really good! Would highly recommend for a private hire.

Lovely atmosphere and decor, food was delicious, waiter went out of his way to cater for our dietary requirements. Andrei, Nalay and manager were excellent. Only improvement I would recommend are the chairs as they weren’t very comfortable
