I have strict dietary requirements due to a long term health condition. My friend hosted his birthday meal at Daffodil Mulligans recently. After calling ahead to explain my dietary requirements, the staff and chef were incredibly accommodating. They helped me choose a starter that could be cooked to my requirements and created an off menu main that met my requirements just for me. I felt very grateful for their accommodation and amazing service.

My new favorite restaurant in London. The service is wonderful, the vibe is cozy and the food is unique but tasty. Many steps above pub food but it invokes the same coziness! I also think they have the best Guinness I’ve tried in London. When you’re done with the meal you can pop down into the snug Gibneys for some live music.

Really a terrific place for business lunch. Attentive service and outstanding food, great location too. A real hidden gem. For mains we both had the sugar pit pork on the recommendation of our waitress, and have to say, was magnificent, possibly one of the best things I’ve eaten in recent months. Very excited to return and experience this place again.

Super meal this evening, highlights were the steak tartare with bone marrow and the mackerel. I'm allergic to shellfish and the chef made some allowances for me, make sure you order the mash, it was utterly divine. The restaurant is wonderfully irish without any hint of plastic paddy. I needed to amend my booking I tried calling them countless times. No one answered the phone. When I got there at 9:30. I was told I had 8 minutes to order. I did that. The food arrived and the staff was already cleaning the kitchen. The food was great, however my meal was interrupted by a mouse that was running around on the floor. The staff claimed the mouse must have run in when the door was open. Absolute lie. The staff member then decided that it would be a good idea for them to send our food to the bar downstairs because and I quote this staff member “it’s not like I’m going to waste my time looking for this mouse right now.” She forced me to quickly pay before I could even say a thing and pushed us to go to the bar downstairs.

A buzzy lively Irish outpost. Daffodil Mulligan had been on our 'to try' list for quite a while and we finally got around to going on a Friday evening on a recent culture and gastronomy trip to London from our home on the benighted Costa Geriatrica down in Devon. The place was almost empty when we arrived about 7.15 pm - hut in half an hour it was buzzing! We had a couple of rounds of aperitifs then shared a bottle of wine. The place is Irishmen owned - part of Chef Corrigan's Colection (and has a Gibney's bar downstairs which we didn't visit). The menu doesn't obviously say 'Irish' so it must be brand/owner loyalty that fill the place up with Irish visitors/expats which adds greatly to the overall buzz. Some of the staff are also Irish, and - obvs - very friendly. To start, The Lady Orthopod had a ceviche of sea-bass (delish!) and I chose the Mangalitza black pudding - which came as a sizeable puck of piggy unctuousness sitting atop celerica remoulade and served with a dollop of gherkin ketchup - absolutely spiffing. TLO had a medium-sized on-the-bone plaice which her advanced knife skills saw deftly dealt with. I chose the whole Gurnard which was to be served 'off the bone' (I asked). I was interested to see how this works, because the Gurnard we buy and love to cook at home are big enough to feed two and have to be filleted. But here, the Gurnard are smaller and some clever chef manages to get the backbone and attached bones out without butchering the fish, leaving it intact and looking and tasting delicious. In short: a real buzz about the place, a very jolly Irish ambience (which you can prolong with live music downstairs if you fancy it), and an interesting menu. And despite not holding back on the drinks, we got out at just a sniff over £100 a head which is not bad by London standards these days.

Great service although food wasn’t to our liking. The sugar pitted pork wasn’t sweet ant anll and had a Chinese five spice Smokey taste to it. Our dining experience at Daffodil Mulligan was disappointing. The oysters were watery and lacked ‘meatiness’ and flavour, while the soft shell crab tasted predominantly like the crab's guts. The bread accompanying the duck parfait seemed and tasted burnt. The duck (which came quite rare) lacked seasoning, and the chocolate peanut butter cookie for dessert was overly sweet in an unpleasant way. Their famous mash was I guess pretty good, but overall, the experience fell short considering the raving reviews on Google.

Quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in London (and I have tried my share). It’s the perfect combination of Michelin quality food, friendly service and a perky atmosphere, not to mention the best Cabernet Franc I ever had. Shared with a friend three starters, all were incredible. My favorite was the cauliflower bhaji, but the fried chicken was a close second (and a very larger portion). The pork belly was no slouch but I preferred the other two. The duck for a main was also fantastic, as was the poached pear for dessert.

A restaurant that flattered to deceive. Lovely ambience and wonderful staff, but the food was good as oppose to excellent. Disappointing to find many of the items crossed out on the menu. You book a restaurant over a month in advance, look at the menu and then arrive to find a fair chunk of menu being unavailable. You would think a restaurant would order enough to cater for their bookings and walk ins. The second time I've had a less than acceptable experience at a Corrigan Restaurant after a poor Thanksgiving Menu at the flagship restaurant a few years ago. There won't be a third visit to the Corrigan Group of restaurants.

What a fantastic metropolitan buzzing restaurant and bar 🍻 As you enter the building, into the restaurant, it is perfectly lit and a welcome warmth both visually and physically hits you from the cold streets of London. You are immediately welcomed by staff with warm smiles and pleasant conversation, and led to your table (if you've booked - recommended!) 🤩 The menu, an A4 page of awesome 🍲🦐🍖 makes it difficult to make a choice! (Check out the specials board located over the bar also) If in a group, and you like everything, speak to the waiter/waitress regarding a mix of the menu - if it's not too busy, lunchtime for example, it's a great way to try a wide range of the menu. The menu is available to view online also 🚀🤩 I had the cauliflower bhaji for starter, bone marrow, and shared the 800g sirloin (medium rare), a side of mash, and a side of broccoli (in garlic) - a large glass of red and a pint of Guinness 😁 Every bite was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and puts a warm satisfied smile on your face! Toilets and bar are downstairs. I didn't see a lift 🛗 so may be difficult for some ♿ users. Fantastic place to visit and highly recommended 🚀😄 Thanks for hosting us and I can't wait to visit you again soon 💪❤️🍀

Service good staff wise however food fell a bit short for me beyond the soda bread, bread and sea bass cerviche which were all delicious. Other dishes were average and some, like the cauliflower bhaji felt like they needed another dimension of flavour to them. In fact I asked for lemon wedges and the citrus kick lifted both the bhaji and the chicken dish a little. The dining room didn’t have a particularly nice feel to it. It smelt oily (there are quite a few fried dishes) which clung to my clothes on leaving plus it was very dark - part of the reason why I only took one photo of the pigeon salad. An average dish. Overall ok but I wouldn’t choose to go again.

First and foremost, we found the food to be fine and the staff pleasant and courteous. That said, we won't return. We are probably not within the target demographic. The place was absurdly noisy, both from diners and unnecessary additional background music. All the food was served at the same time, tapas style, so there was no opportunity to enjoy individual courses. Finally, we found nothing remotely Irish about the food and cuisine, apart from the name of the restaurant. We were glad to try the place but we are done with it. For us, subjectively, a pity, as it's always good to try a good local restaurant to which we might hope to return frequently.

The beef with smoked marrow was outstanding as a large dish notably. It was a Wednesday and the atmosphere was buzzing. The only reason I haven't scored a full 5 is because we didn't repeat the initial dishes. Shockingly bad. No idea why on earth this place is in the Michelin guide or has any good reviews. The service was fine, no major complaints there .. but the food was laughably bad considering we ended up paying £80 x head. We started with the 'wild garlic bread' - a few pieces of burnt toast, with very little to show of garlic, regardless of it being wild or not.. For some reason all adorned with sad wilted basil leaves. This set the tone for the rest of the meal. Ceviche made with what must have been bottled lime juice. Flaky over-fried scampi that which had very obviously not been de-veined. Pig cheek kebabs in an overwhelmingly flavoured curry sauce, sickly on the throat. Topped off by undercooked venison combined with "smoked prune" sauce which for all purposes resembled baby food mixed with bbq sauce. We did not stay for desert.

The place was half empty at 8 on a Friday eve and now I know why. The food was awful. We had 4 small dishes plus bread and 500ml of the cheapest wine and the bill was over £100. For this I would expect something amazing but the squid was a horrid soup and hard veg in what looked and tasted like dirty dishwater. The salt and chilli chicken was inediblly salty and couldn't taste chilli. The scampi and 3 chips were like the scrapings of a chip shop heater. The ham hock was OK as was the bread. The waiting staff and ambiance ok too The owner should try these dishes and see what he thinks. I'm sure they can't be as he intended. I'd save your money as there are plenty of great cheaper restaurants in the vicinity.

We came here for a quiet couples dinner. The decor is contemporary and though it’s quite a large space it feels cozy. We were welcomed by enthusiastic staff and quickly seated with menus and the offer of drinks. The menu is heavily focused on small plates. All sound delicious and are quite innovative. We decided to order a couple at a time which allowed us to change our minds as we tasted our way through the menu. We were here for over 2 hours and it seemed to fly by. Minor point’s stopping 5 stars. We thought the dessert menu didn’t quite liveup to the same standard as the rest. It was very limited so we gave it a miss. When the place got full the staff struggled to keep up. They continued to be friendly we often had difficulty getting their attention. Worth a visit. Oh. And there is a very lively bar in the basement if you fancy it.

Only went to the bar downstairs, which is a decent place for a cocktail! The aperol spritz was pretty good

I have to be honest I loved the experience more than the actual food. The waitress was lovely and very happy to host us. Food was good but not memorable although I liked their potato mash and the cooked ham. Those were special. Wine extremely overpriced and when I found out that I paid a bottle of red “l’interrogant 2020” for £67 when you can find it on sale for 20+ I honestly felt fooled. Would I go back? Perhaps for a drink and a bite. Definitely not for a full set.

Very good food - Deborah is a star ⭐️ Back a year and a half later or so and had equally a great dinner. Irene was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and just extremely personable. I just think these details and levels of attention go far and need to be commended. Thank you and be back soon!

Not been here before but passed it many times. The menu is unusual, and with many small plates but each one was fabulous. Offal waffle for example - I love most offal but my family don't however they all tried some and loved it. Similarly the beef tartar and mackrel tartar were wonderful. Will definitely be back and recommend here if you want something different.

Early dinner (6pm) on a Friday so reservation not needed. The access could be a challenge due to the never ending work on the Old Street roundabout. Loved the small plate starters ("hash", beef tartare & soft shell crab) and then we shared the Sirloin. Food was great but no sharp steak knives on the premises made eating it a challenge. Struggled to fine a red wine we wanted (and the menu is so difficult to read in the low light). We went with the waitress recommendation which was great though, as everything is these days, a tad expensive. Our waitress (from Swords) was fabulous.

The sushi is excellent but had a very disappointing experience here today. My wife is allergic to shellfish so requested a substitution in the set plate of nigiri. The chef rudely refused, only offering to sell it without the shrimp and clam. So essentially a £33 platter missing a fifth of the fish. There’s a better way to handle things for sure but no solutions were offered other than a more expensive plate. Have been here a few time before and this was so incredibly disappointing from a customer service perspective. Probably won’t be back.

The nigiri sushi is fresh and delicious, the wasabi is ground by hand, and the chef's workmanship is top-notch. Watching the chef make it is an artistic enjoyment.

Had a wonderful time meeting up with an old friend and AK looked after us beautifully. He took every opportunity to make sure we had a wonderful time, including swapping my friend’s glass of Prosecco for a new one as he noticed it didn’t look bubbly enough! Delicious food and fantastic service!
