Little Sardegna in Islington

We had a best time and most delicious Italian food ever! I was with my four Italian friends who are very opinionated about their good food and they all loved it too. Will be definitely coming back and have given the name and address to about four people already as am still buzzing with the experience. Will be back soon! Yo también soy sarda y mi pareja es una inglesa que aprecia la comida sarda. Tengo que admitir que la comida que probé era muy deliciosa y auténtica, típica de la región de Cerdeña. Sugiero probar Culungiones, Malluredus y Ravioli sardi con vino Monica o Cannonau, comenzando con pane carasau y focaccia sarda. ¡Gracias, Marcello! Giovanni y Emma Ristorante eccezionale! Un excelente restaurante con una cálida bienvenida de Marcello y el equipo. Esta fue mi segunda visita con mi prometido sardo que visitó en junio de este año. Específicamente viajamos desde Berkshire para regresar. La comida es deliciosa y auténticamente sarda, que es un verdadero placer de encontrar. Recomiendo encarecidamente los culurgiones, mallorredus, raviolis y también la imprescindible cesta de pan. El vino era una combinación perfecta con la comida. Recomiendo encarecidamente y esperamos volver una vez más con nuestra familia y amigos también.

The pasta here is really good, would recommend the crab tagliolini and the tortelli in nduja sauce. We also got the lamb and chicken which were also nice. Dessert was very mid though.

Consistency, quality food and service! This is my absolute favourite restaurant in the area and one of my favourite Italians in London. Even though I moved away from the area, love coming back for the tortellini stuffed with burrata, with n’duja, pistachio and sage sauce. The service is great, it feels like home.

The cozy atmosphere and the owner's warm hospitality made for a memorable experience. The food was delicious, and they prepared Seadas just for me. Highly recommended for a taste of Sardinia in London.

Fabulous Sardinian Restaurant, 10/10. This was the first time I had tried Culurgiones and I was so pleased that I did as it was so tasty. Even better than I was expecting. Little Sardegna is a nice place to try Sardinian food. The pasta dishes are tasty, and they offer a good selection of Sardinian wines to go with your meal. Little Sardegna es un gran lugar para cualquiera que busque disfrutar de la auténtica cocina sarda. El ambiente acogedor, con su decoración sencilla pero encantadora, hace que la experiencia gastronómica sea fabulosa. Sus pastas son deliciosas, claramente hechas con cuidado, y la selección de vinos sardos complementa perfectamente la comida. El personal es amable y atento, lo que se suma al ambiente acogedor general del restaurante. Ya sea que seas nuevo en la comida sarda o simplemente estés de humor para algo diferente, Little Sardegna definitivamente vale la pena visitar. Recomiendo encarecidamente darle una oportunidad!

With the lack of online menu and a few reviews mentioning the price I was concerned but you shouldn’t this is one of the best value restaurants in London. The food was excellent and the service was friendly.

Amazing little independent authentic Sardinian restaurant owned by a Sardinian himself, Marcello. The food is amazing. The truffle pasta is a must order, with a couple very reasonably priced Aperol spritz.

Almuerzo brillante que tuvimos oportunidad. Tuvimos los más fantásticos entrantes de carpaccio de gambas con un delicioso aderezo cítrico y Burrata con excepcionales pimientos asados dulces. La cesta de pan le da una encantadora selección variada. Me encantó la pasta Mallordereus solo por el nombre, pero fue con una salsa muy sabrosa de albóndigas y tomates. Todas las pastas son caseras y deliciosas. Los vinos tintos de Cerdeña que bebimos eran buenos y excelentes. No hemos estado aquí durante unos años, pero sin duda volveremos pronto.

A taste of home. Marcello, the owner, is good fun and really treated us very very well. We will be back!

Homemade pasta, great roasted meats on Sundays. Feels like being in Italy right in the middle of Blackstock road. You can't beat the quality of the ingredients... everything is carefully sourced. My favorite is the Caprese - beautiful Italian tomatoes and fresh mozzarella!

Fantastic food in a cozy restaurant. They took us in last minute, late on a Thursday night, and greeted us warmly. Angela was an amazing waitress. She provided great service. Their daily specials menu had some incredible dishes. Loved the food!!

I will go as far as to say this is the best and most authentic Italian food I’ve eaten in London. Immediately transported to my Italian aunts home. We ordered the meatballs, ricotta ravioli and pork ragi gnocchi and everything was spectacular! Definitely will be coming back!

My Brother and I visited Little Sardegna last night and it was super. The decor is very Sardinian and well thought out. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service friendly. We had olives and a very generous bread basket to start, followed by lamb cutlets (beautifully cooked) and the Culurgiones (pasta) which was so tasty. Accompanied by a bottle of the Sardinian Nieddera, we were in heaven! Would definitely recommend and we'll be going back soon.

Far too expensive for what it is, two pasta, two glasses of wine each and a tiny burrata to share, £86!

So cute and quiet! As an American, I definitely enjoyed the food here! Will definitely be coming back when we’re coming to the emirates again!

What an authentic, honest wonderful local Italian restaurant this is - wonderful homemade pasta, great house wine, lively atmosphere, lovely service ten out of ten - well done!

Someone we met outside on the pavement had told us it was good and he was certainly right. All 4 of us tried different pasta dishes and they were excellent, especially the spicy 'tagliolini Marcello' with crab, lemon & chilli; the culugione pasta filled with potato, pecorino lemon zest and mint and the tortelli stuffed with burrata. Our small grandson put away a plate of spaghetti Alfredo (just butter and cheese)! And to round off freshly made tiramisu.... Marcello and his chef could not have been more friendly; talking to us about Sardegna and its food in a mixture of Italian, Spanish and English. A sunny southern European lunch in north London.

Excellent food, wonderful staff, brilliant atmosphere… what more could you ask for. Highly recommend this lovely little hidden gem.

This is a great little restaurant where food is amazing. Second visit and the Gnocchetti were delicious and so was the antipasto with my Ichnusa beer which I love. Definitely worth going again.

Accidental(?) discovery (for we put of town tourists) that saved the evening! Really great, straightforward Italian(!) fresh food prepared as if they were hiding a Nonna in the kitchen. Try it!

Great food, but we were sat right under the air conditioning (when it was 18 degrees and rainy in London) so were absolutely freezing all evening. The lights could also be a bit dimmer/yellower - the ambience felt a bit hospital-y.

Very average food. Not sure why this place garners such rave reviews. Baffling. Ordinary pasta served with little flavour. Nothing much to talk abt.

Really wanted this to be good as my parents are from Sardinia and I'm proud of my roots. The issue was the poor service and complete lack of interest and engagement from who I think was the owner. It was just him and one very out-of-his-depth waiter. The food was just above average based on mixed feedback from my family and when you factor in the cost. Wine was excellent though and reasonably priced. But definitely worth a revisit and second chance!

A nice little gem on Blackstock road. Good Sardinian food and wine. However it feels like they are resting on their laurels a little eg specials are identical every time.

Quaint Italian in Highbury. Shared a plate of charcuteries to start. Good selection of meats and decent but not exceptional cheese. As a main, had the truffle tagliatelle from the rolling menu. Decent portions and definitely good, but didn’t offer any surprises or stick out. While food was ok, service was great! Our server did a great job welcoming us and talking through the menu. We sat outdoors, but the noisy road is a bit distracting. Would recommend indoor seating if you go.

A truly excellent restaurant. One of my favourites in London. Received particularly excellent service and attention from the chef here who prepared a Sardinian specialty I had been looking for especially for me as it was off the menu when I visited. Everyone was friendly and the cooking was authentic. All at a very reasonable price point as well. I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Came here for a large birthday meal. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Good was fantastic and reasonably priced.

Food was nicely presented and tasted good. Service was poor as there was only 1 staff member working that night. In fairness to them it was on a Sunday....however I am thinking at least 2 workers on the floor.

Pretty good food, small portions but very expensive. A good local restaurant that I have been to a few times, but I always leave feeling hungry and surprised by how expensive the food is.

Perhaps there must be an hectic being happened and having glitches with no signal for their phone contact as stated, the phone was gone to voice mailbox with two calls being made at around 7.30pm and 9pm for table reservation; Also being found that the rude staffs never call back with a recorded message by 'Please leave your name and contact number after the beep'; So what's next? The call back would be happened never! and ever! I might not be give a try again as this is how the customers being treated by the staff in Little Sardegna

One of our new favorite finds, the pasta here is amazing.

Very friendly atmosphere and excellent service on a Sunday evening. Short menu of Sardinian inspired food complemented by daily specials had something for everyone.

Molto delizioso! This was such a fabulous find; we loved the look of the place as soon as we walked in, the pasta is made fresh in-house (as it should- nay, must! be), the food was completely delicious, the wine was great and the staff were fantastic. We loved it all and will definitely be back

Where to even start! The food here is worthy of a Michelin star, so many different flavours expertly combined to create the perfect dish. The service, drinks, and atmosphere are also heavenly, with only the highest quality being served to you! Although it is on the more expensive side of restaurants, it is not something that you will regret. To talk more about the food, the pasta is perfectly cooked and seasoned, with perfect portions and plating. Finally, the atmosphere was also very welcoming and warm, with candles and suitable music. Overall we paid £80+ for a 3 person meal. Would definitely recommend!

A little gem for authentic Sardegna cuisine.

On my most recent visit, I went with a friend and we had a lovely time. It was a Thursday night and even though we were there quite early (6.45pm), it was really quiet which surprised me. However, I’d still recommend to book as it’s been much busier when I’ve been before. We didn’t have any starters (my friend’s decision - I thought the burrata sounded great!). My main was the crab from the specials board, which was the perfect size and definitely not stingy with the crab. Really tasty. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was creamy and light and I loved the flecks of crumbled amaretti biscuits on top, and the lemon sorbet. It’s hard to know what to say about lemon sorbet as it’s rare it’s not good. This was good. Prices were fair - my crab was about £16/17 and desserts were £6/7 Great for a cosy catch up, or date night.

Definetely the best restaurant in the area.

We dropped in without a reservation and they found us a table outside. The restaurant was full but the service was friendly and professional and we did not have to wait too long for our food. The dishes we chose tasted authentic and delicious - we particularly enjoyed the ravioli - and prices very reasonable. We even decided to go back the following week to try some more dishes. Now this restaurant is on our list for all future visits to London.

Really nice intimate restaurant on the Blackstock Road. Some lovely interesting dishes not found in your usual Italian restaurant at a good price. Also some very good wines from Sardinia using the indigenous grapes from there. Very pleasant service.

i'm cautious of saying 'it was the best meal ever!' but this really was up there. mussels were delicious, house wine was yummy (i had a carafe for £13) and my main course (a humble tortellini) was off the chart. reasonably priced and they allowed our little dog inside. thanks very much for a great birthday guys!

Delicious food served fast, good service and reasonably priced. No wonder why it’s difficult to get a table unless you’ve booked.

Cute local restaurant with very good quality food. We had some bruschetta, nocellara olives and caprese salad for starter. You could smell the fresh tomatoes and basil from far- probably the best tasting ones I had in a very long time in london. As a main I had the potato filled pasta with lemon zest and mint on tomato sauce. Wow! Also the ricotta ravioli were great and the hazelnut added texture to it. We enjoyed very much! Last but not least, the tiramisu with a touch of amaretto crumble and the baba so creamy and spongy were the perfect end to a beautiful meal. Total bill with a bottle of wine was around £38 per person (we were 3 people). The amaretto shot on the house was also a lovely finishing touch. Definitely recommended!

Good food and friendly service. The bill was a little pricier than what we thought it would be: it seemed a little expensive to pay ~£50 for a main, a couple of starters to share and a bottle of wine.

To all the Sardinian people and to all Sardinian food lovers, please do yourself a favour, avoid this place at any cost, and I will tell you why. I had booked last week a table for me and my wife for my birthday, via phone call, for dinner. When yesterday We stepped into the restaurant, the waiter did not knew anything about my reservation, first wake-up call. Firstly the drinks, cocktails were awful, ( 2 Negroni), wasn't expecting a high-class cocktail but as long as you put those drinks in your menu would be great if they are at list drinkable. They were not. Then We ordered , 2 starters and 1 main course. Here the problem are the prices, which are higher (on an average) than other similar restaurants which are in the same area and serve the same type of food, about a 20% more for every item we choose from the menu, which I can easily says that it is crazy. I ordered a selection of various cured meat and cheeses. The dish was very poor , 3 single small pieces of the same cheese ( ..."selection"...) 3 slices of a typical Sardinian type of salami , 2 slices of parma ham and 3 of coppa. My wife took a mussel soup, which usually it comes served everywhere with a decent amount of soup. Here it wasn't, there was just one small soup layer on the plate, and most important served with no bread. in this restaurant if you want bread you have to pay for it (£ 3.50!) even for the first basket, thing that is quite unusual and disappointing. Wine, be careful with the wine guys. I chose one bottle of white wine, the second most expensive of the menu( £ 65), which I know extremely well, and the waiter brought me the less- expensive wine of the same brand written in the menu. To be clear, the wine got the same name but it also got a second name that indicates that it is the more commercial and cheaper version, but this restaurant selling price is as it is the expensive one.To be really fair I had should rejected the wine , but i was not in the mood to have an argument with the waiter and/or the owner, so I took it, anyway this is a disgraceful way to raise profit from your guests, taking advantage of a possible poor knowledge of a foreign brand wines' portfolio, an easy scam. Finally the main course. A very typical Sardinian dish, culurgionies, highly over-priced( £16.50). Due to the price , i was expecting they were fresh hand-made, instead they were clearly frozen, and also the chef/ owner cooked them partially and badly, their consistency was so hard that it was clear they stayed a long time in a refrigerator and he should cook them more and better , because the amid of the pasta tents to crystalize itself becoming hard if you keep it at low temperature for a long time. Very disappointing and too way expensive experience ( with no quality at all). Sardinia is great, in particular its food, not little!!!

If it wasn't for our service experience this place would have five stars for the food, but it gets two because: - We were given the table next to the front door which didn't close properly so it was our job to manually close the door everytime someone arrived/left on a 2C night. Probably a 30 minute job to fix this. - It took 10 minutes to even give us our menus, 30 minutes to take our food order, an hour to receive our starter, and an hour and 45 minutes to get our main. We hate to complain as we appreciate everyone is short staffed at present, however we looked on in frustration as others around us received their orders - several couples that arrived after us finished and left long before we got our main. Really disappointing as the staff seemed oblivious to this.

You leave the UK behind when you enter this superb place and enter Sardegna: no Customs, no controls. Marcello, owner extraordinaire, waited our table and the experience was SUPERB. Food as it should be. Service as it should be. Some true gems in the wine list!

Amazing Sardegna restaurant with friendly staff. Everything is tasty!! Finsbury Park駅からは少し歩くけど、機会があれば絶対に試してほしいイタリアのサルディニア料理(駅からバスもあります)。客席数の割には、え！このサイズで大丈夫？！と思ってしまうキッチンの大きさですが、思ったよりもスピーディーにお料理が出てきますし店員さんもフレンドリー。おすすめはメニューとは別に壁の黒板に書かれています。
