This place was recommended by a friend and I’m so pleased that we tried it. From the moment I phoned to book we felt welcome. I called the day before for a table of six on a Friday night for my daughter’s birthday and although they seemed busy when we arrived and one of their chefs was off they still took our booking which I was very grateful for. The food was lovely and the portions were generous. We all enjoyed our food, both starters and mains. The year before we’d gone to an Itallian in London and ended up with tiny overpriced portions but these portions were the perfect size even for the most hungry of our group! I didn’t manage all of mine but was kindly given a box to bring it home in. We would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

My family and I went for an early Father's Day supper on Friday evening. We haven't been for a while as I have been ill. We were greeted by the staff, including the kitchen staff like long lost family. I was very moved. I forgot how superior the food is at this restaurant. Started the meal with delicious cocktails. All our starters were exceptional, ranging from crab and prawn salad, deep fried Mozzarella and Calamari. The mains ranged from, fillet and sirloin steaks to sea bass, calves liver in a white wine sauce with sage and parsley and spaghetti carbonara. Generous portions, piping hot and exceptional al dente vegetables. All washed down with two bottles of Pietri red wine. I was too full for a dessert, but my two sons had a "Sundae of the Month" and one had a "special" which was a hot chocolate brownie with cream, ice cream and sauce. I had a taste of it and it was amazing. It was one of those desserts that you would have been tempted to have thrown yourself naked on, but I resisted the temptation as I love this restaurant, the staff and the Sicilian family who run it!!!!!! I wish to return many times! A must visit. You won't go anywhere else after visiting it!

Been to DavVero a few times, consistently excellent food and atmosphere. Staff always make our children feel welcome. Love it!

Visited for the first time today as a family with our 9 and 13 year old boys. Very friendly staff and nice restaurant that puts you at ease. Starters were lovely - calamari, aubergine, mozzarella and then we had pizza and pasta for mains. Tiramisu is a must try! Will definitely be back, highly recommend.

We visited as a group of 10 for a birthday meal on a Saturday lunchtime. We couldn’t have been more impressed, the food was delicious and the portions were all so generous. Service from the owner and his family was outstanding too. We will definitely be back!

Came here on the 21st as a party of 9 to celebrate a birthday. Food & service excellent- my risotto was delicious! Impressive cocktail menu, but as I was driving had to stick to a mocktail 😁. We weren’t rushed out at closing time & had plenty of time to finish our hot drinks. I would certainly visit again!

Party of six including two children aged 8@10. Ambiance and food very good, particularly pleased with the children’s menus, although options were either pasta or pizza ,the ingredients were the same as the adult’s,simply scaled down to child-size (and they cleared their plates!) Will certainly visit again when we are in St Albans.Highly recommended.

Been going to Davvero since it opened and their old place, 6of us went for dinner, and 4 of us had lobster paster it was great as always can't remember what the other 2 had. and the service first class.

Best Italian restaurant in St Albans. Service was fantastic Emily and all the staff are so friendly and always smiling. The Bar Expresso pasta amazing, the Risotto de Mare absolutely gorgeous and so rich with flavours and best homemade tiramisu ever. Please do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant.

We were a party of 5 with 2 birthdays, We all had cocktails which were fab, the food was amazing, very tasty and cooked to perfection. You could not fault the service and the staff were very knowledgeable on the menu. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back in the near future.

Second visit and first time with kids. The food was excellent as before, really good quality and very tasty. I had risotto with seafood which was fresh. Kids had pizza which had bags of flavour. Owner was very helpful and assisted with kids and allergies. Prices are not cheap but reasonable for the quality.

Lovely traditional Italian restaurant with reasonable amount of seating and plenty of free parking nearby. Food quality was first rate, portion sizes large and quality high.
