Incredible as always, we go here for special occasions and it's always so spot on with wonderful service and amazing food!

Food was really tasty and the decor of the restaurant was really cool. Felt like a really traditional Italian restaurant.

Very good and cosy place. Portions are very generous. My favourite was the tiramisu, balanced flavours with great cream. Excellent service from Ray!

Absolutely charming and authentic Italian restaurant in the most unlikely of places! We came for a birthday celebration with our daughter and friends - the welcome, service and food couldn’t have been better. Beautifully cooked food, humble and supremely high quality. Highly recommended!

Our hotel in London recommended this restaurant. My husband and I am delighted they did! The restaurant is small and intimate. The decor is comfortable. The restaurant staff are attentive without being overbearing. The food is incredible. We started with the shrimp appetizer. It included toasts and at least 6 shrimp which have been sautéed in garlic/butter broth with fresh chiles. Very tender and flavorful. I highly recommend. My husband had the lobster ravioli with a shrimp/tomato cream sauce. Clean, fresh, not fishy and absolutely delicious. I had the spicy homemade pasta with shrimp and tomatoes and a bit of a kick from fresh chiles. Unexpectedly, I ate almost the entire dish myself. Usually pasta is overly filling. This dish was light and fresh and the shrimp were tender and perfectly prepared. For dessert I had the tiramisu (a standard tiramisu) and my husband had a semi-frozen dessert with almond and chocolate. He enjoyed it & of the 2 desserts his won as most unique and memorable. The wine by the glass was good, the cocktails were also nice. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I visited the restaurant every time I come to London. It small cozy with warm atmosphere. We are welcomed with nice smiles and friendly faces. The menus has so much to offer that makes us want to try everything . The food is so delicious and light on stomach that you will finish your plate but never feels stuffed or uncomfortable even though the portions are large I become regular from the first time in 2012

Nice venue and food is fine good portions. What spoilt the evening was being informed we had to vacate our table in 5 minutes(we had been sat for 55 minutes at that point). This was announced at the same time as offering dessert menus! I asked for the bill and was told we had time to “share a tiramisu”! I should have refused to pay the service charge but didn’t want a scene in front of my daughter who I was treating to rare dinner out. Such a shame. That greed will eat at your soul.

I have visited Da Paolo on three occasions now and the food and service has been 10/10 each time. They cater for my gluten free diet with no hesitations. I have tried gluten free pastas, as well as a couple of fish dishes and they have all been very tasty. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is very inviting. I will be back again.

The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant has a nice cosy atmosphere. However, the food is average, the portions are huge (far more than we could eat), and the prices are much higher than can be justified by the quality of the food.

We book a table for 9 persons here for the first time, everyone enjoyed their food, lovely service from the staffs and greeted goodnight to the lovely chefs (yes, they are an open kitchen), I would just say they are little pricey than the other Italian restaurants because they are authentic and the one and only Da Paolo in London, so it was worth it if you are looking for a classy Italian vibe but not spending too much £££ with the family and friends

Primi piatti arrived at the same time as secondi piatti and was cold There is almost no space between the tables, if you want to get up you have to have someone come and pull the table, it is very narrow. The chicken was tender and delicious. The black truffle we chose from the special menu was delicious but cold. They brought the dessert menu as soon as we finished our meal and brought us the bill 30 seconds after we said we would not order dessert. When we said that we did not want an account, they stated that they misunderstood, this did not feel sincere. The waiters were attentive and friendly.

Very good for an Italian restaurant in London but super expensive

I am sorry to say that I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years - it has always been a fantastic experience - unfortunately the last 2 visits have been disappointing - last week the portions were twice as big as normal (salmon/ginger and mine was a deep friend veal escalope - sorry I can't remember the names of the dishes exactly) but the quality was half as good - they were not nice at all -the potatoes seemed to have been microwaved - the meat was very thin and tasted like fried food - I had taken a friend there promising her a fantastic experience but it was at best average.

A really lovely restaurant. We found it by accident, although I’ve lived in London for almost all of my fairly long life. We hadn’t got a reservation but they found us a really nice table by the window. The restaurant soon filled up with couples and parties of people. A great ant on a Saturday lunchtime. Incredibly friendly with excellent and attentive service from our lovely waiter and waitress. The food is great. I had a proper tagliatelle with ragu. Unlike most ragus, that are really bolognaise full of tomato, this was a proper meat sauce. The best I’ve had since we were in Sienna some years ago. Good house wine as well. A real find and on our list for more visits.

Great food just felt little bit claustrophobic due to restaurant being busy. Imagine better in summer as you can sit outside. Not ideal for business meetings but still excellent food.

Unfortunately I could not enjoy the food due to the poor service of the waitress, we were the first to arrive and the last to be served the food, but this is not as important as the bad attitude, when I wanted to ask what the waitress had happened . with a very bad attitude and without letting me finish talking, he gave a bad excuse and then turned around without letting me finish talking, I think that the client is always right and no matter how tired you are, you always have to have a good attitude, I couldn't finally have the name of the waitress because she didn't finish serving us, but this was on 11/24/2024 at 8:00 pm at a table down the stairs

Excellent experience! The food was delicious and had gluten-free options, something we really appreciated. But what really made the difference was the service of the waiters: attentive, friendly and very professional. Without a doubt, a place that we would recommend and return to on our next trip to London. Thanks for everything!

Such a wonderful restaurant. We received a very warm welcome from the staff, they were very friendly and helpful throughout the evening. The food is to die for, it was so tasty! I loved the seafood spaghetti dish, and the portion was nice and large! I will definitely come back here in the future.

We have made this our regular meeting place in London, and go for lunch every three months. The food is consistently good, with an extensive menu and specials board. Service is great, they are always friendly and polite and never rush us. We will be back in a couple of months

I came to Da Paolo once with my mum, and again with friends for a birthday celebration. Both times the food and service has been fabulous, I cannot recommend enough for the most delicious food and cosy atmosphere. 1000% I would recommend.

Milanese veal cutlet (the real one, huge, cooked in butter, very well breaded), beef steak and lobster ravioli. Everything really excellent. Good selection of bread served with EVO oil. Attentive and very friendly service. I recommend it for anyone who wants to eat "real Italian" in London.

By accident, we came across this restaurant. And while we were looking at their card, outside, a friendly lady asked us to come in. What a lovely hidden gem, in the centre of London! Amazing good tasting food, very friendly staff and a cosy place.

A weird one. The food is great, but there is just too much of it. I think each plate would have fed three of us, and it was therefore off putting. Hard to down rate it for that, but I don't think I'd go back because of it either.

Be aware if you’re fairly tall as the restaurant is small and you’ll be told off for not moving your chair far in enough to make more space for diners at the tables behind you (that never showed by the way) when you do you’ll feel uncomfortable and cramped. Food was ok, had the steak which was ok but the vegetables and potatoes that go with it were so bland and dry that they were obviously an afterthought, steak could have done with some sauce aswell like a bernaise or peppercorn but at that point i was too scared to ask incase i was told off again for not moving my chair far enough in

Literally the prettiest, most lovely little restaurant. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was completely amazing, my friend and i both had pan fried king prawns with saffron rice in white wine, garlic and chilli sauce. It was the most amazing meal and we already are planning another visit to try more of the menu. Definitely recommend for a lovely dinner

There's a lovely people with a great outlook on life

We visited Da Paolo for dinner after it was recommended by a member of staff at our hotel. We were not disappointed. It is a little hidden away so I don’t think we would have found it on our own but what a find. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful but the food was amazing. Very generous portions, so much so that we had no room for dessert. The quality of the food and service is faultless. I would highly recommend but would advise booking in advance as it is very popular.

Went out for our anniversary dinner, bruschetta was delicious along with the gnocchi and the mushroom ravioli. Service was great but place was quite small!

Had a great time in Da Paolo, was our first time but wont be the last. Great atmosphere, no loud music to drown the conversations. Food looks and tasted great, the portions were generous. Wine menu was extensive, got the house white which for my untrained palate was good to pair with the spaghetti allo, grilled sea-bass and mussels. Had a nice surprise tiramisu for my birthday. The staff were great, very attentive. The place was cozy, it felt very family-owned type of restaurant. Overall great experience and would recommend. Will definitely be back for more!

Smallish restaurant with a real homey Italian vibes. Very good fresh quality food and generous portions. This is one of the places I’ll keep going back to for a decent meal if I’m around Oxford street

But where do Italians who say it's excellent and is a real Italian restaurant eat? For me it's 3 stars only because it's in London. If we consider the true level of Italian restaurants it would be a 2. Excellent service. Italian dishes are revisited and made worse.

It's a lovely place for a lunch or dinner. We tried lasagne, pasta and risotto. All of them were great. Service is amazing. Thank you for this lovely night! 4 people with 4 main + 3 starters + 1 dessert + 1 bottle of wine was around 180£

Simply not fresh, the potatoes wer reheated, same with the dessert.

A Fitzrovia classic Italian restaurant that maintains high standards that keep people coming back

I came with a friend. It was a little chilly so we sat inside. I had braesola for starter. It was a huge portion, almost a meal in itself. I followed this with chicken escalope with spaghetti and then the chef made zabaglione for 2 of us. With a bottle of wine the meal came to about £67 each including service. The quality of the food is excellent, the service attentive and the surroundings are very pleasant. The only problem is that the restaurant is very cramped and if you sit in the aisle your chair will be bashed whenever someone walks passed which is annoying.

Who doesn’t like comfort food !! imagine a grandma cooks something, all excited, the food is always (delicious), everyone enjoys finishing their plates, and never a disappointment… it was never about extraordinary or impressing others,, it’s just comfort food that so good to get addicted to it 😋 The portion of a dish is enough for two to share !! i can’t say more 👋🏻 I tried multiple dishes from the menu, all were good enough to get back and order them again… I have been ignoring all Italian restaurants in London since I got connected with Da Paolo for 2 years already..

We stumbled across this restaurant our last night in London and we’re so happy we did! It’s authentic Italian….you will not be disappointed! The food, wine and service were absolutely superb.

Loved this place and we have been regulars in there. But our last visit was something else. We have been always touched by the special service and the food is indeed amazing. Shame the owner seems to have no good manners at all. We have been having our usual table outside and we have been always ‘allowed’ to smoke e-cigarettes but this time we got a dry NO and when I asked why it is not allowed anymore, the owner just said ‘Because I said so’. Terrible attitude! Even though there were people around us with their vapes out. Same diners as us. We had to leave because to be honest i was shocked by the answer and couldn’t see myself enjoying it anymore. Such a shame we won’t be coming back there, and I would def not recommend it to any of my friends. When you are coming to dine, you are also looking for the whole experience and politeness is probably the minimum I would even ask for.

The food is very good but, logically, it is not cheap, for an Italian, about 35 pounds per person without asking for much. They speak Spanish. The pasta and desserts are delicious. I recommend Linguini, spaghetti, lasagna and tiramisu. They have tables outside because it is in a pedestrian zone.

Amazing food in a great atmosphere. We had mushrooms to begin then Italian sausage risotto. Both were delicious but be prepared for the portion size. Excellent friendly service.

My family and I came here on the last night of our trip yesterday. The staff greeted us with such lovely kind smiles, welcoming attitude and took care of us. This restaurant is indeed what it is described as- authentic Italian. The food was the star of the show and was certainly the best Italian food we have ever had. I would recommend this lovely family business as it is just simply perfect. I loved the atmosphere and everything else that came with it. Thank you for having us and when we come back to visit London we shall come back!

This is possibly my favourite restaurant in London. It has everything you want from a great Italian restaurant - authentic recipes, fresh ingredients, good wine, all lovingly presented in a romantic setting. The servers are very friendly and greet my wife and I when we arrive as we've been coming here now for many years. Da Paolo is usually our go-to for birthdays and anniversaries, and I've recommended it to so many people that they're probably sick of me mentioning it. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Small typical Italian restaurant, large portions, very friendly service

Cosy but cramped Italian restaurant. Food traditional and plentiful. For example, a side order of a 'tomato and onion salad' could easily feed four diners. Service from a young manager and an Honduran waitress excellent and informal. But restaurant should remove a couple of tables. Currently, they are only a few inches apart, so that stranger next to u feels a part of your table. In an unattractive passageway, competing for outside space with other outlets infront and to the side. Still, would return, if I was in the area.

This restaurant had the feel of a neighborhood eatery - comfortable, casual, friendly. And the food was delicious. We were lucky enough to strike up a conversation with a "local" and learned that our experience that night was the norm. Always welcoming!

Cosy restaurant with excellent service - provided by an attentive, young manager and an Honduran waitress. Tables very closely packed together, and traditional food served in generous portions. Not really in an attractive position...on a narrow passageway - sandwich bar-type place opposite or to the side with its own chairs and tables competing for space; all arranged too closely together. Would return if in the area.

This was hands down one of the 3 top Italian Meals I have had anywhere in the world. And to find it in London England around the corner form our Hotel in SoHo is In a word amazing. We were running a few minutes late and I called up Mario who was so kind and out he dour reservations for this intimate family styled restaurant. When we arrived it was if we were old fiends with the entire staff going out of their way ti greet and help us. We ordered three course that we split tarting with caprese salad that was good but a sleeper compared to the tastes that were to follow. The real excitement was in the second and third courses, the Hand made ravioli with a cream Truffle sauce was breathtaking it literally permeated the taste buds with the taste of the Truffles. Generous portions and amazing district flavor made this a winner. We followed this up with a Veal Saltimbocca which was so intensely flavored it was unbelievable. I Woudl not have thought such flavor could come from his dish, but as I sit here today I’m wishing we lived in London so we could visit this fine restaurant regularly. To say this is highly recommended is an understatement. If you truly love Italian food are in London make a point of getting a reservation at this restaurant you will not be disappointed and like us will likely wish you had come earlier.

Great little Italian restaurant in Fitzrovia. Perfect for a date with good food, nice atmosphere, and friendly but unobtrusive service. Small, so can get a bit crowded, but a go-to spot.

Staff are good and atmosphere good. Food was okay but too pricey for what it is. The wine by glass runs at 9£ which is insane because it tastes sour. I would go again for atmosphere but I wouldn’t order wine. It’s not worth it for that insane price and terrible taste

Came to this place due to the amazing reviews and had such a horrible service experience, I came alone and was given such trouble for a table. I was initially told nothing was available when in fact there were plenty of tables, I honestly thought they were joking with me at first and after asking for an explanation they seated me out of pity, wish I left because it was very unsettling to feel so unwelcomed. Regardless of good food or you do not treat people as such therefore I do not recommend this place!

One of the best meals we had on our trip to London. Highly recommend the Ravioli all’Aragosta (my wife's favorite).

Da Paolo's is always a joy. Romantic location, fine food, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. A must-try if you are new to central London, and just want to eat well, in lovely surroundings.

The food was delicious, but while we were chatting there was a thief who pretended to beg, put a piece of paper on the table, and then took away the phone underneath the paper. The clerk was very busy at the time and didn't notice.

I’ll start with the food, cold and late.. We asked the staff to take it back to warm it up and they forgot about it until we reminded them. That leads me onto the staff who just seemed to have no clue what they were doing. All our food arrived at different times some of us had finished our food before others even got their food. Absolutely woeful. Monday 27th 8pm. As you can see the starters are still on the table after finishing our main.

Ham and melon was not good at all , pinky Parma ham full of fat and hard to eat , chicken Milanese was just ok , a bit soggy and small ,we waited quite a lot for the food too, maybe we were not lucky with what we ordered. Inside is very noisy

Cozy Italian traditional restaurant in the heart of Fitzrovia. Big portions and tasty pasta options. Although I was very happy overall, it did not remind me of the pasta dishes I ate in Italy. Friendly staff who were happy to help throughout the night. I don't eat spicy food and they were happy to not add chillies to my dish. Tiramisu had too much whipped cream on top. It's a quite small place and it was a bit hard to move around the restaurant. We booked in advance. Prices: We were a group of 4 and it cost around £45 per person for selection of Italian breads (they weren't very fresh which was a bit disappointing), four pasta mains, a bottle of white wine and two portions of tiramisu that we shared between us.

What a great little restaurant of the tourists track. Arguably some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. We had the Burrata & vegetables for a starter which was a brilliant dish. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was full bodied without being overwhelming. Service was excellent and on point. Chance upon this wonderful restaurant while searching for dining choices in the vicinity, and it proved to be a delightful discovery. The restaurant exudes a cozy, intimate ambiance reminiscent of a quaint Italian trattoria. The service was exceptional, delivered with promptness and warmth. And as for the food, it surpassed all expectations. Each dish was impeccably executed, and we were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions. We will definitely be back and recommend this to others.
