As always great food, brilliant welcome in a friendly atmosphere with excellent service. One of our favourite places to drop in and standards are always as good even when busy.

Another great meal and friendly welcome. Brilliant choice of meals and snacks including desserts. Excellent portion size and meals available to eat in or takeaway. Really competitive prices and the friendly if the owners and staff is second to none. Easy access so suitable for all ages, card payments accepted too. Never had a bad experience here so definitely recommend!!!

As always a friendly welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Broad menu to suit everyone and yummy specials too. Cottage pie was delicious and hubbies steak and ale pie went down a treat too. Even though it was really busy the service was excellent and the coffee is simply the best. Good for couples, singles, families , spotlessly clean, excellent prices and free parking outside.

Another fabulous lunch, great service and friendly welcome. It was really busy but they fitted us in with no hassle. We both chose one the special of the day snd it didn’t disappoint! I had the ham salad which was like a festival of colours on the plate and really encouraged you to want to eat it. Hubby had ham, eggs snd chips snd this too looked great, extremely fresh eggs, thick cut ‘proper’ ham and crisp chips ( not greasy). Only found this place a few months ago and now visit often as is always excellent foid and value for money

Called in on passing as could see their board outside said they did jacket potatoes. What a find!!!! Spotlessly clean and a really friendly welcome. Service was great and there was a huge menu choice of hot and cold, sweet and savoury. Settled on a jacket potato with chilli and cheese, also had a separate salad- both were excellent, delicious and generous portions, salad waste fresh and again very tasty. Prices were unbelievable and we are really looking forward to our next visit!!! Choice of phoning in order or drop in to takeaway or sit in as well as just drop in cafe. What a gem of a find

What a wonderful find, a little family run restaurant. We ordered two large pizzas and had ice cream for desert which was all fairly priced. Everything is home made, cooked and served by the hosts, what a great team! We were made to feel very welcome during our visit. Well behaved dogs are allowed at the venue, we had ours and she just relaxed under the large table. There are some board and card games for you to play whilst you wait for your food. A nice atmosphere, would go again and highly recommend. They also do take away orders. There are other things to do onsite, as we arrived early we took an hours walk around the woodland.

We visited while on holiday and had a fantastic early evening meal. The hosts were very attentive and looked after the children really well. Very warm atmosphere and great menu variety. Would highly recommend.

I do not cook at all when The Penny Black is open ! I feel really sorry for cafes and restaurants like this ! It's not their fault that they are unable to open up at the moment still ! The Post office is an integral part of the Burry Port community and as such will have struggled to retain their loyal clientele! Not everyone is,driven by price but as I intend to eat there 3 or 4 times a week , still, I'm very grateful that the prices are priced really realistically , as I'm single and only on my works pension, still ! Lol x Thanks for all the care the staff gave given me since moving to Burry Port/ Pembrey. South Wales. Th

Only came across this hidden cafe with a community spirited hostess on our way back to South Wales & were smitten by how friendly and accommodating they were. If anyone in your group has a hidden need, for example avoiding cafes with a cabinet full of coca cola cans, Croes y Ceiliog at Llanwrda has the solution, making you feel like a family member. Their tasty home made food too = return visit a definite!

Went for dinner with family - the steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked. From the outside the pub looks a bit innocuous but great chef and lovely friendly staff.
