Visited this little cafe twice while in Abergavenny for the day. Once for coffee and again for lunch. On both occasions, staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious, presented nicely, and arrived in good time. Will definitely return if ever in the area again

Bacon and toast were both rock hard, small portion sizes, did not enjoy!

This was an excellent experience. Great food and drink and excellent hospitality. We will certainly return.

After eating jacket potatoes and delicious berry crumbles with vanilla custard, I'll probably never be able to get up again. 😉

Called in here again for lunch today as we always eat here when we are in Abergavenny. Food is absolutely lovely and reasonably priced. The staff are very accommodating especially Ashley who is such a nice person and so very efficient. Can’t recommend it enough.

Used to love this place, went recently to have pancakes and bacon with high expectations. Unfortunately the pancakes were either exceptionally dry and stale or shop bought. It was like eating a piece of leather. Cmon guys, make it fresh! Severely disappointed.

A very nice little find, good prices, friendly and helpful staff, we had Canadian maple pancakes with bacon, followed by the most amazing gluten free Victoria sponge, a real treat. My only small complaint is that although the tables were cleaned and tended too quickly, there was food on the chair and the floor, however we will make this a regular place for brunch, thank you.

Only stopped for a pot of tea with my wife and our dog. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and very attentive to every customer. Would recommend this Cafe to anyone. First visit to Abergavenny and really loved it. Would definitely visit town again when passing. Pop into the Cwtch Cafe as it is worth it.

The best thing about this place are the lovely staff. They were so busy but so friendly and accommodating. The surroundings are beautiful. The menu is varied and reasonably priced!

Stopped off in Abergavenny on way home for a bit of a look round and called in her for lunch. Initially sat inside but were then fortunate enough to switch to a booth on the pavement which became available which proved no problem for the friendly staff. Enjoyed an al fresco meal - I had a tasty and spicy three bean chili and my partner put together a create your own salad from the counter display unit which she thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend, in fact we liked it so much we called in for cake to takeaway after a bit more exploring.

This was the best cafe of our week long holiday in the area. They have a great choice of cakes. Service was friendly and efficient.

When we visited on 18/04/24, we ordered a caramel latte, cappuccino, and 2 orders of the pancakes, one with no bacon. Upon ordering, we were informed it was cash only, but the Lloyd’s bank cash point 3/4 shops on the left as you exit make that a simple solution. Drinks came fast, we opted to move outside after ordering due to the fantastic weather, and food followed shortly after, with a small delay between plates. Service was friendly as ever, and the food was beautifully presented as pictured.

Fab little cafe.. we stayed in the area 3 days and went back every day. Lovely guy working there really looked after us and our little girl. Delicious coffee, brilliant all day breakfasts and very yummy cakes. Perfect !

Nice veggie breakfast, only minor complaint would be it could have had a little less toast and another item such as halloumi. It would also be nice to see salt and pepper grinders not the shakers. Finally, the americano coffee was weak.

Simply a little jem, not high street but tucked away nicely...go here and I guarantee that you will return...lovely young staff,top food, top service...

Cosy little cafe with amazing cakes. Toffee sponge cake was delicious! Perfect spot to end a long hike. I also managed to forget my hat there and the owner was kind enough to post it back. Definitely recommend 👌🏼

Lovely little cafe with wonderful staff and yummy treats

Great little cafe with very helpful owner.She created a very good snack when we arrived shortly before closing time. All the food is made daily including delicious cake and wonderful puddings. Her crumble had fresh fruit and wonderful custard. The coffee is extremely good. The machine is kept in perfect condition. Coffee is well balanced and the preparation is adjusted to ensure the quality is maintained. Get there early to find a seat( it's very popular). There are cubicles outside ( undercover ) Ssshh don't tell too many friends!

Lovely cafe in the town centre, friendly staff, delicious food we had lasagne which was excellent, tasty salad and garlic bread. Generous pot of tea for two. Cakes looked delicious too. Good value, cash only.

Popped in here for a coffee. We were on the lookout for a custard slice to accompany our drink and this quaint little coffee shop has a beautiful selection of appetizing treats on offer including the all important custard slice. Outside this cafe there are a number of cute pods or wooden huts. I think there were four and they seat approximately four per hut. They have leather seating and a heater located above to keep you warm on chilly days. The staff were very pleasant. Reasonably priced and tasty custard slice. Dog friendly too. All in all a lovely find along the high street of this very pleasant little town. Please visit

Always try and pop in here when we're out in Abergavenny, but often struggle as it's always so busy. Staff are so friendly and accommodating, and their cakes are to die for! Never good for my waistline! Keep doing what you're doing

Prompt, friendly service and excellent food. Father in law said best breakfast he’s ever had! Look forward to visiting again - hoping to fit in some of the homemade cake. Recommend the breakfast , the Chilli and the BBC panini.

And no matter the weather, we got the impression there would always be a warm Welsh welcome! The menu was cracking, with good, honest food lovingly prepared and presented. All-day breakfast - perfectly poached eggs with my daughters eggs Benedict Coronation chicken baguette - very tasty Cheese and beans baked potato - excellent size portion A super sausage sandwich that pleased my four year old granddaughter! And what definitely tipped the scales in her favour was a freshly made delicious raspberry milkshake with cream on top for my granddaughter! 👍🏻 The cakes - oh the cakes! Such a varid and fantastic selection, very popular too. We made a return visit a few hours later as my daughter needed to feed her baby. A good ole pot of tea to warm us up along with a massive Chelsea bun for my granddaughter - best cake ever she said! Yet again, it was a wonderful friendly welcome even offering extra cushions for my daughter to feed the baby. Prices were very reasonable, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere definitely felt as if you had a lovely Cwtch 🫂 I would highly recommend this cosy cafe, and we'll be back! Diolch yn fawr

We stopped off here twice in one day! First time we found it whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch that was suitable for 3 adults and a child. They do all day breakfasts, deli items such as sandwiches and baguettes and jacket potatoes. We chose a sandwich for the child, baguette, jacket potato and eggs benedict. Every table was full whilst we were there, and even with our food choices being all different, they arrived quickly and well made. My poached eggs were absolutely perfect, which is always a pleasant surprise in a bust establishment! We also had decaf mochas, which, you wouldn't be able to tell by taste they were decaf. On the second visit, we needed a warm dry place to rest, drink and feed a baby. They were most accommodating and offered a seat nice and extra cushions to allow me extra comfort whilst doing so. My 4 year old has a Chelsea bun which was delicious, and I wish we'd all had cakes from here as we were a little disappointed with the cakes we chose from a different bakery and the cakes at Cwtch Cafe looked beautiful. The staff were really lovely, and a joy to talk to. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting and we will be back next time we're in Abergavenny (from Coventry and Hereford). Thank you!

My partner myself and my dog visited this lovely cafe. We sat in one of the booths outside. It was a very good experience for us. We both have food intolerances.Our needs were met without complaint. In fact we were asked specific questions without even having to negotiate from the start. It was a breath of fresh air from previous experiences in other establishments. I agree picky people can be a pain. But when you are unable to eat certain things. It can get complicated. I highly recommend a visit here.

The food and service was excellent and the atmosphere charming. What made it really special was that they went out of their way in handling a misunderstanding on our part. They were most gracious and kind in their accommodation.We would highly recommend it.

Fabulous cafe in Abergavenny. Delicious food and lovely staff. Really good value too. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. The cafe is nicely furnished and has cute outside seating pods which are ideal for customers with dogs. We sat inside and enjoyed some delicious filled jacket potatoes with side salad and a very generous sized pot of tea for two.

Amazing hot chocolate and breakfast. Have been twice in the last two weeks, food great, service quick and friendly.

No ham available no fruit pancakes available and sandwich made with the wrong bread.

Lovely sitting out in a pod in the sunshine. Great coffee & fab cakes. Would recommend the lemon Victoria sponge even though it says Gluten free it was so moist & very delicious. So was the Chocolate orange cake.

Ordered an English breakfast and mushrooms (plus pancetti) on toast. All delivered quickly and were warm, there was a lacking of mushrooms on the plate for the breakfast (looked about one medium sized mushroom chopped up), but this was rectified by the waitress who brought out some more. Could also have done with more on the other meal, but it was all cooked well and tasted delicious, so much so that we had to try the homemade cake.... we will go back again

Nice spot of breakfast here. Relaxed atmosphere and better than the trading post no bullying going on to other members off staff unlike those foreign guys from trading post.

This place was just ok. Food was relatively good, but service questionable. My partner ordered and the staff would ask him a question and then not really listen to the answer! Also we asked for a regular pot of tea and 2 cups (as we only fancied a small cup of tea) and both assistants said “we will have to charge you double” (for a spare cup!) They also don’t take card, so we had to go and get cash out. We found this a bit archaic! The Brie bacon and cranberry panini was extremely sweet. Likely wouldn’t return sadly! Lots of other cafes!

What a fantastic find! This a a lovely cafe with friendly staff, natural decor and great food. There is a great atmosphere of chatty people. We ordered a regular tea and large cappuccino, both good temperature and arrived in an expected time. There is no card machine so pay with cash. There is a cash point a few metres down the cafe. For food, we had chilli con carne that was well seasoned and had a good kick. The eggs Benedict has a runny middle and the right about of hollandaise sauce, not too much that will over power the taste! Yum yum! Definitely willl be back to try their homemade cakes and other menu items!

Friendly quickly served,very fresh food delicious warm scones not dry as I have in other places. You do have to pay with cash no card service which is a bit behind other cafès and you have to remember in a card society!

Absolutely 💯 wonderful staff. We had a lovely feeling here. Coffee / Tea and the cakes are to die for all homemade, and they soon disappeared during our hour stay . But they had plenty more to fill back up the cake cooler. Hygienic, owner was forever wiping down counters ,tables when his staff were serving dinner. Its a cash only cafe , but the cash machine is basically next door .

We arrived in Abergavenny Monday lunchtime and decided to have something to eat before exploring. The cafe was very busy but luckily there are the seating pods outside that were available. We ordered the Canadian pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon and tea for two. Our tea was served to us by a friendly young man who informed us that if we wanted sugar he would bring it to us. This is sensible as many different people touching sugar cubes is unhygienic. We had a short wait and then our food was delivered. The pancakes were light and the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our lunch so much, we decided to return the next morning for a cooked Welsh breakfast. We were there early enough to get a table indoors. The food was delicious and worth every penny. The only negative was the lack of a card reader so cash payments only. This wasn’t an issue for us, but we did witness several people come in and order before having to leave because they didn’t have cash. Maybe people should be informed of the payment method on entering the cafe.

Small compact and homely, a local restaurant that does what it says. Friendly service, great food, better for the outside seats. It only takes cash, so be aware.

They don't accept credit cards. And if you saw soup on the menu, it's not served during summer. I know it's summer, but it's 14C outside! Toasties were nothing special. I wanted to try the cakes, but the wait was so long we just gave up 😩

Would like to thank the wonderful staff at this lovely cafe, dropped my card wallet without knowing here, my husband rang following morning & it was there safe & sound.We have visited this lovely cafe for many, many years & the food is delicious coffee, cakes, & everything in between, always been top class service, all the staff are so friendly, polite & happy to help.Would highly recommend a visit if your ever in Abergavenny. And once again thank you for keeping my card wallet safe , so relieved when we found out it was safe & sound.

One of my favourite cafes in Abergavenny. I have coeliac disease which means I need to eat gluten free, and I feel safe to eat here. They usually have a few gluten free cakes on offer, as well as other gluten free options on their menu. The gluten free pancakes are delicious, although they didnt have them available on my recent visit which was disappointing. I went with the gluten free breakfast instead which was delicious.

Sat in one of the huts and two of us had gluten free pancakes while my husband had a cooked breakfast. All delicious with friendly service. Dogs allowed too which was a bonus. Knocked a star off because although they asked if we were coeliac (first time this has happened in the UK), my daughter was later sick. Don't know if this was due to cross contamination or whether she overdid it as she also suffers from ME. I did notice though that the gluten free cakes were mixed in with normal gluten cakes rather than all on the top shelves so can see there would be a risk of cross contamination. My daughter has severe coeliac so it is always a risk for her in a kitchen that handles both gluten free and standard food.

In this lovely café you can sit in little booths outside and enjoy the sun and high street of Abergavenny ,drinking tea from a big pot and eating delicious snacks. Or the full Welsh breakfast if you're very hungry.

Visited today. Omg what a stunning little place. Me and my son loved it outside it the little booths, it was super cute, heaters in the booths as well. Staff are so friendly and the food was stunning. Can't wait to visit again.

Excellent coffee, excellent positive attitude re customer service. It appears there is a lot of choice in Abergavenny for coffee but this destination won't leave you disappointed.

We hadn't been in your cafe for a while until several weeks ago We had our usual coffeesbut was very disappointed with them They were not very hot and weren't happy with the sugar situation One cube each put on our spoon What is that all about Never in All cafes do they do this incl home town and other places outside lt used to be our fav cafe

Lunch with a couple of friends. The service was excellent and attentive and food was very good. Be aware, it is cash only or at least it was on the day we visited. Very nice experience and recommended.
