What a great job the students have done tonight. Indian night and an excellent meal it was. Give the place a try. It’s a 10 out of 10 from me.

We came for a tapas lunch with family. The choice was exceptional, and cooked to perfection. I had gambas and calamari, which were incredible and so tasty. Service was great. We had a fabulous time and the price was exceptional, for the high quality food served.

We had lunch today at the Novus Restaurant in the Kings Lynn College. The food was excellent and the price and service outstanding. The food is prepared and served by trainee chefs but don't let that put you off , they turnout some fabulous dishes at a very reasonable price.

We have been here many times and have never been disappointed and last night was no exception. We meet with friends regularly and try different restaurants locally, this time I suggested Novus and they were blown away by the whole experience. Due to it being the first night back after half term, we were the only diners in the restaurant however this did not impinge on the quality or quantity of our food. The bread was cooked to perfection . My starter was up there for one of the best I’ve ever had. Bubble and squeak with a slice of crispy bacon with a perfect poached egg on top. Blade of beef so tender for mains. Lovely crème brûlée for afters. Friend had bavoir ( she said it was beautiful). OH had the doughnuts , scraped the plate and said he wanted more! 🤣. Washed down with a lovely coffee. Total price pp? £21! Excellent value, brilliant service, amazing food. See you again soon!!

Pre pandemic we used to go to the college quite frequently but we made our first visit for some time to have lunch with some friends today. The value is excellent - three courses for £11 and the quality of the food is excellent. I started with mushroom and Parmesan beignets, which were fine but couldn’t really taste the Parmesan. Next I had pork and apple casserole which came with root vegetables - very generous and tasty. Then I had winter fruits and white chocolate roulade, which was enjoyable. Everyone else reported that their meals were good. The young woman serving us was very pleasant although nearly had several mishaps in dropping/nearly dropping cutlery and/or crockery!

Absolutely outstanding food. Nice ambience.Students do an really good job. Parking free.Prices not seen since the last century. What is not to like. Really enjoyable meal.

We went today to Novus to enjoy their Pancake Day menu. The food was delicious and a credit to the students. Excellent value for money.

Please see previous review - once we realised the menu had changed we should have left - a friend was with us and struggled to find something he liked. We have visited before and have been so pleased so we were disappointed Tuesday night. Also the duck that was served had chilli in it and there had been no mention of this. We all agreed the service was excellent (but more information should be given to servers so they know exactly what is in the dishes) and the desserts were our best dishes of the evening. We know everyone is learning and it is a really good establishment - just a few tweaks needed!

Tonight, Tuesday, we visited the restaurant with two friends, menu had changed to when we had booked. Beef ran out, not a whole piece of salmon, cut in half. My friend said on other occasions this had not happened. Had to choose things we were not really happy with. Salmon had no potato or veg, a let down, have better at home! The person we had serving did not know a dessert spoon to a serving spoon, surely this is taught? My friend visit often, said she had not come up against this before, with food running out and changing menu, not good when you do not eat certain things. Starters, chicken had ran out as well! The starters and desserts we did have were enjoyable, main a complete let down, shame.

The theme was 'American Night' We opted for popcorn chicken for starters.which arrived in good time. Our waitress Mia was charming and attentive. I chose the vegetarian option,which was the halloumi burger and fries.Arrived in good time,really tasty and well presented.Saved the best till last.... Key lime pie. Mia said she made it. Delicious. Thoughly enjoyable evening. A lot of effort had made to set the scene. The volume was just right, enabling us to chat. Look forward to a returning soon.

A group of us decided to try this restaurant which is part of the collage of West Anglia, the restaurant is where students are trained before going into catering and to become chefs, on this occasion they were third year students.On arrival we ere greeted by happy students and staff, and shown to our tables, menu’s are changed on a regular basis with a choice of two or three courses.All our food ( 3 Courses ) were excellent and served to us like a top restaurant, just to mention, there is a bar where drinks can be ordered to accompany your food.So to sum up our visit, food and service and price were excellent, only one small issue, we had to ask two people on the collage complex for directions as more signs are needed, especially in the dark.

Always a really excellent meal. A good choice on the menu, prompt service, beautifully cooked and generous servings.

We visit every few months and always enjoy the experience. This time we went for lunch with a group of friends. I had carrot and coriander soup which was very tasty. Others had whitebait which was nicely presented. I, and a number of others, had cod Mornay on rosti potatoes - very good and accompanied with a good variety of vegetables. I didn’t have a dessert but those who did enjoyed them. The service was of a reasonable standard, particularly considering the students were only in their first year. Well worth a visit, both as an enjoyable experience and to support the students.

We had not been to Novus recently but decided to go again when we saw the menu. We had always gone as part of a group but this time just the two of us went. When we arrived we were surprised to see that there were just six other people dining, although a group of seven young people who had not booked turned up. Anyway my wife had asparagus with poached egg which she said was very good. I had scallops which came with both mustard and hollandaise sauces - the former was rather overwhelmed by the latter - but overall it was pretty good. We both had belly pork which we enjoyed but the crackling could have been more, well, crackling: it came with kale, butternut squash purée and black pudding mash. Fir dessert, my wife had an excellent Eton mess and I had an interesting cucumber and ginger sorbet with grilled water melon - turned out to be pretty good. The service was not that slick and the food was not perfect but given that it is cooked and served by students and only costs £16, it would be pretty churlish to give it anything other than an ‘excellent’ score.

Whilst we've eaten at Novus several times in the evening this was our first lunchtime visit. The cost was £5 for three courses and £7.50 for three, so excellent value. To start, I had a pork and apricot terrine which had a slightly crumbly texture and you couldn't really taste the apricots but it was fine. One person had the pea risotto with an egg on top, which looked good. I then had pork with cheesy mash which tasted fine and came with fresh tasting vegetables. Two had fish, which was served on a bed of vegetables and potatoes: they said that it tasted fine but all the food was at one end of a large oval plate, so you weren't sure if there wasn't something else coming along. I didn't have puddings but they were reported as good. Service was friendly and efficient. There might be minor quibbles about the food but the students are still learning, and you certainly couldn't argue about the price.

We went to Novus for the first time and were delighted. The young staff were wonderful and the food exceptional all for a very reasonable price. Will definitely be going back.

Have eaten here more than a dozen times and the food is excellent and great value for money.....2 courses £5 and 3 courses £7.50 at lunchtime. Obviously it is cooked by students in training but the presentation is superb and I have had far better meals here than some very expensive restaurants.

I am sorry to buck the trend but we have just returned from Novus Greelk and Spanish lunch.

This is the fourth time I have eaten at The Novus Restaurant and I shall certainly be returning. We enjoyed a taste of Summer holidays with the Tapas and Meze menu, just what we all need after some very cold weather. It was a very difficult menu to choose from as there were so many delicious dishes on offer and the price so reasonable that you can be easily tempted to over order, instead I think that I might just have to go back before Easter to try some of the other dishes. The food was absolutely delicious and well presented, I really could not fault it. The service was attentive and efficient, I was even provided with an "off menu" dessert. That is the sort of touch that you would hope for from a more expensive restaurant.

A group of 5 of us went in for lunch today (7th March) all I can say is wow, we had deliciously cooked food, really well presented. Well done to everyone on the excellent service and the superb food. We will be back, Thank you.

Great food begins with people learning the basics. Every great meal starts with someone years beforehand learning how to pour wine, how to plate up, how to peel a potato, how to season, how to make a roux. Nothing ever happens till people know the simple basic things, so this place is where great food begins.

A group of about 20 of us went (we all volunteer for a local charity) and we were treated to marvellous food and excellent service from the youngsters.

Wow wow wow the food was totally fabulous . I have pate to starter very tasty and homemade mmm , and than mushrooms with Stilton very nice as well , I am not vegetarian but mushrooms and Stilton together mmm , and than cheesecake mmm...

It's a training restaurant for the students at the college and if you go with that in mind you should have a good meal. The place itself is smart and comfortable, though can be a bit loud when there is a raucous party in. The food was pretty good, though perhaps a bit on the fancy side with some interesting and perhaps experimental combinations. It was well presented and the portions were generous. The service was pleasant and polite, but needs to be a bit more assertive. Decide if it is table service for drinks and make it clear. Ask who the soup is for rather than waiting with a bowl hoping to be noticed. Be observant and deal with things rather than waiting to be asked. These are small points which will improve with experience, so just accept that it is not a professional setup and enjoy some pretty good food at a competitive price.

Hemos venido aquí para comer con los amigos con bastante regularidad, y es bastante difícil dar una crítica justa, ya que la calidad de la comida y del servicio pueden variar, dependiendo de la experiencia de los estudiantes que trabajan allí: no sería justo tener expectativas de primeros estudiantes año como sería de aquellos en su tercer año. En general, la calidad es muy buena, particularmente en relación con el precio. Fuimos a una noche mexicana, que cayó un poco por debajo de los estándares usuales, sorprendentemente sin sabor. Sin embargo, más recientemente fuimos cuando había un menú degustación y tanto la comida como el servicio fueron excelentes: esto último puede ser a veces un poco pero era de gauche un alto nivel con el personal cordial y eficiente. La comida era de un alto estándar, con el salmón ahumado entrante y el campo de pescado de róbalo permanente. La única pequeña decepción fue el postre de pudin que era demasiado grande y no tan refinado como el resto del menú. Pero en el saldo fue una excelente comida a un precio muy razonable.

Everybody did a great job. The food was lovely and all the staff were attentive and friendly. Restaurant was full and we will definitely return.

We visited the restaurant for a Valentines Dinner, this was a happy co-incidence as this was the theme of the evening we could visit. The meal was delicious with lots of choices available. The tables were decorated within the theme and everything looked lovely. The Service was great and we cannot say enough good things about this.

Probably deserves more public acclaim but in writing this good review is it heading for over-popularity as it has a good firm clientele base anyway. Nevertheless, we dined at the Burns night themed dinner. Excellent food and fantastic value at £14.50 per head. The service was attentive but don't forget that these are students learning their trade so there may be a few imperfections. The 4 course menu included of course haggis, neeps and tatties (which I had) but it was so much more than this. The Orange Cranachan for example was lovely. So come here soon. Lunches are also served but not sure about booking arrangements here.

This restaurant is a real find; excellent value for money. There's a nice lunch range, and the dishes arrive quickly, which is always a plus if you only have an hour. The fish with the poached egg and bubble-and-squeak cake was very tasty. I particularly liked the smaller portion sizes: this restaurant gets that just right, no food waste, and the prices stay low too -- win-win. A lot of care goes into the presentation, which matters to me. Definitely a repeatable experience, and my lunch companion has said they will be back too.

Had a lunch sitting with family. The service was excellent and professional, the food was well presented and very very nice, the dining room felt as comfortable as any other restaurant and I couldn't fault any of it. Even if there was a fault, these young adults are learning the catering trade and deserve to be nurtured and praised. Well done the college but even more so, well done the students. The staff are almost all catering students learning the ropes, but this is barely noticeable in the quality of service and food. An excellent three course meal for two including coffee and drinks, for less than £40? Will come again!

I love that I can go to such places like this.Your visiting a restaurant with tomorrows budding chefs and restaurant owners. The students are introduced to us the public as they get the chance to show what they can do. Its the second time I have visited a restaurant like this and the 1st time I visited Novus.So what to expect should you decide to visit and I hope you do. Young students that already have a high level of culinary and hospitality training providing the best they can deliver as they learn, progress and fine tune their skills. Your simply going to have yourself an amazing feed at an affordable cost with the potential of service to match any top class restaurant.Don't forget these are still students and I guess nerves may show as they put skills into practise. I will return again next time I visit Kings Lynn as I don't just feel good from the food and service I received.I'm hope the students recognised how their hard work has given my family and I a great evening out. A 3-course Xmas lunch for £10? Yes, really! The food was delicious and the service good. I didn't find the ambience very appealing, though (I did find it rather "classroomish") and there was not much Christmassy stuff to be seen, but such a good experience overall. Many thanks!

I ate at the Novus restaurant over Christmas and was there as part of a corporate team building event that the lecturers organised for us. I was absolutely blown away by the care, attention to detail and pride that the staff and students all take in creating the highest quality, well presented and imaginative dishes. The college dining ambience is modern and inviting. You certainly wouldn't think you were eating in a college or being cooked for by trainees. All very professional and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Went for lunch today , excellent food , was in a fishy mood so had plaice gougons starter , haddock with poached egg main and chocolate fondant for dessert . Two courses £5 and three course £7.50 , best value in town !!!

My wife and I have had several meals in the restaurant, private meal with friends, several group events as well as having the team cook for us at the Town Hall on more than one occasion. The service and food quality is excellent , The catering department of the college deserve 5 stars, they are training for the future of good eating and service.

Well what a shock! I won a free 2 course lunch here for 2 people in the Prize Draw Golden Ticket at the College.My wife and I went on Tuesday 9th June at 12 noon. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our seats by one of the students. Today there were about 17 people in the restaurant having lunch.He gave us a menu - 5 starter choices + 5 main courses + 4 sweets - and then a drinks list arrived from a different student (they all have their own duties) We ordered our main courses of Aubergine Lasagne and a Ragu of Beef tagliatelle and they soon arrived with a large dish of vegetables - everything was piping hot.Both were really excellent dishes and in fact with the vegetables were just right.We ordered 2 sweets and my wife got a hot chocolate fondant with ice cream and I got a hot crepe with fruit filling. We could have had a coffee or tea in with our prize meal.We had 2 drinks of fruit juice and a large glass of wine which were the only items we had to pay for.Again an excellent lunch, served by the courteous students and great value at £5.00 - but even tasted better as a wonderful prize!Well done everyone there and keep up the super service and food.

Considering this a student restaurant... The service and food are excellent, I will come again. Portions are a good size and everything is cooked well. If you visit just allow a little extra time and be generous with your feedback... It all about learning in a real wild environment.

Apart from being ignored for 5 minutes at reception on arrival the whole experience was wonderful. The menu had a very good range of Greek & Spanish tapas dishes which were all exceptional, beatifully presented, well cooked & thye service was excellent. We followed it with apple frangipane which was so wonderful we bought some to take home. We had wine/cider with the meal and coffee to end and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We would definitely return and hope they are doing tapas again!

Seven Greek "tapas", two desserts, one coffee and a bottle of wine for £21. It would have been fantastic value if the food had been merely pleasant, but it was much better than that.Lukewarm custard was the only negative: they must have a microwave, surely?

I visited along with my partner, unsure on what to expect. We was quickly greeted when we found the restaurant and seated in a nice compact seating area in a kind of atrium with massive glass roof. We was quickly served warm bread and food order was taken, shortly followed by our drinks. One of two of the staff seemed a bit nervous but apart from that the service was great and friendly. The food was fantastic - canapes simple and tasty bites, starters we had lovely warm prawns with well seasoned salad, mains both well received thai fish and pork 3 ways all lovely apart from the faggot but that was down to personal taste, we both had white choc cheesecake and was well presented and tasted fantastic. We couldn't believe the quality of the food for the price, and we found out these were 2nd year students with 3rd years doing a different evening, we will definitely be returning.

Had lunch here with friends tapas and mezzo dishes. We could mix them which was fun. My calamari was cooked to perfection melted in my mouth. I also loved the butterbean salad. Students were nervous but we were gentle with them!! They were very good with the service look forward to another visit soon. One more important detail £5.00 including dessert and coffee.

Friends and I visited today & had a lovely meal - a mixture of Spanish & Greek dishes followed by various desserts then coffee for the amazing price of £5! The students did amazingly well though were rather nervous. Well done & we'll definitely visit again.

Lovely Tapas lunch on Wednesday 27th April . Food was all delicious and we sampled 10 dishes. The moussaka and the potatoe tortilla deserve special mention , both absolutely delicious. . I have never dined here before but will certainly do so again. Finally worth a mention is the fantastic prices of the food and drinks . Well done to the students for providing us with a lovely lunch .

Arrived for the Australian Evening at scheduled time of 1830 only to discover every other diner had arrived at 1800 and hence all the options we wanted were off. My advice is book for 1800 only. Eventually found something after negotiation and to be fair both the Thai Curry and Chicken Burger were ok. Service a little patchy but I fully accept this as it is a training event and the prices paid are extremely good value.

An excellent meal this evening .....food presented lovely ..the plaice was cooked just right ..The veg on the main course perfect ..plenty of food ...service was excellent ..very well looked after ..prices fantastic...would totally reccomend ..shame the Disney night is fully booked ...will be back soon

This was our first visit to the CWA Restaurant and what a surprise!We had a really good selection of at least 7 Main courses and 5 sweets for a 2 course meal deal of £4.50 each person - great value!The restaurant was quite busy with over 30 people sitting down but the students dealt with us very efficiently and very courteously.There were no problems at all and the food was great, very hot and very tasty.It was presented to us and it looked just like a magazine picture, and we felt that the effort of the students was well received by everyone thereWe look forward to going again soonWell done to all.

What a lovely three course lunch we had. All courses were delicious and beautifully presented. The students who waited on us were very polite. Will definitely back and would like to try the evening fine dining next time.

We visited the CWA Restaurant (College of West Anglia, Kings Lynn) last Tuesday to enjoy a four course meal (five if you count the coffee). The variety of haute cuisine dishes were served by their third year students and this session was a “Roald Dahl” theme night. The menu was imaginatively described and wide ranging. All was well presented and professionally served.The restaurant was fully booked with 55 covers and the fewer numbers of the older students, during this sitting, coped extremely well. We have been before on a Thursday when there is service provided by first and second year students – catering here is equally good.All this for £15 with your drinks extra – great quality and value! I went with a party of 24 for an evening meal. The restaurant is maned by students in their 2nd year, under the supervision of a tutor in the kitchen. The restaurant is modern well laid out with a capacity of 60 approx.The evening we went there were 52. We started off with canapes, then cheese souffle followed by Lamb shank, for desert Panna Cotta finished off with coffee. The food was well cooked and presented, my Cheese Souffle was slightly overdone. The students were well presented and efficient. The evening cost was £15 per head. If you want good food at a very reasonable price this is the place. You are also helping the students. If you go for lunch, then parking is a major problem, go at 1145 when a lot of students leave the site.

Today was my second time of having lunch here and i am already looking forward to my third! good menu, lovely staff, delicious food and very cheap as its a training college, we had a 3course lunch and it cost under £20 for two of us!!! would recommend to everyone!

I ate here tonight on a Groupon deal....fantastic!The students were attentive and very polite. The food beautiful.Tonight I had canapes to begin.....chicken goujon, smoked fishcake and Gazpacho. I then had the most beautifully flavoured Chicken Fajitas to start.Main - hubby had lamb and I had sea bream stuffed with a chilli mousse, served on rice with a poached egg.Dessert was the most fabulous passion fruit mousse with fresh cream and garnish, followed by coffee.I will most definitely go again and will be raving to all my friends to visit too.well done all - you were a credit to your tutors!!

Have just got home from our meal and it was amazing. Went with my parents and partner everyone was very happy with food& service. Very tasty and excellent value for money!!! Have just booked to go again!! Nothing at all to complain about. Would recommend to anyone :)

We have just eaten an amazing 3-course meal, served very quickly and efficiently by a very small team of youngsters. The food was delicious and was piping hot when served. All courses were delicious, but the desserts were 'to die for'-chocolate fondant and opera gateaux. We had a groupon voucher but will definitely be back -very happy to pay full price. Excellent service received from Charlotte! She advised of any small delays, even though they were negligible.Well done to a very talented group of waiters/waitresses/chefs/tutors! Brilliant!

My self and partner had the valentines evening here staff & students were excellent Marcus was our waiter for the evening he was charming and very efficient. Food was excellent with a great choice. I have eaten several times here for lunch equally as good. We will definitely be back and recommend to family & friends.

I would certainly recommend this to any group large or small for lunch. The restaurant is open 12 - 2pm only so get there at 12 to have the full choice of meals. The food is well cooked, you may have to wait a bit longer in some instances but it is well worth it. If u are not happy with a dish they would like your feedback to help the students improve their culinary skills. There are themed nights too giving students practice with different countries food.We had 30 ladies booked for lunch, we stated what we wanted beforehand and they didn't have any problem coping with us!! We always call the staff in to congratulate them as you never know, they might be serving you in another restaurant in a few years time! They cater for different dietary conditions and some of the desserts are to die for!!I can't praise them enough and they want more people to visit them, practice makes perfect!!

Lunch here was excellent value and very good. Such a pity it is not better used it deserves to be, One of the best places to eat in the area.

We went to the CoWA restaurant for a Burns Night and it was so good. The food was excellent and the staff really attentive. My husband cannot eat anything with alcohol in it and they were brilliant in checking the food for him and making sure he was ok. The desserts were fantastic. It was certainly one of the best nights we have had. Congratulations to all the students.

You had better book your table well in advance for the themed nights such as Burns Night. This venue is deceiving in the fact that you are looked after by students and the food is inventive and also delicious. We were welcomed with a glass of whisky and shown to our table by waiting staff decorated in tartan. From the home cooked bread and garlic butter, canapés, main and dessert, and finished with coffee - value for money is not the word! Where would you get such a well cooked and well presented meal for £15 per head.Well done CWA you did yourselves proud.

My wife and I booked for lunch (£10 for two!) and can only say what a fabulous meal! This is where students learn the art of cooking and all aspects of the hotel and catering trade under first class supervision. Our meals were cooked to perfection, piping hot, and the young staff were polite and attentive, watched over by one of the trainers who ensured all ran smoothly. The restaurant is also licenced. If in King's Lynn I suggest you try this establishment. The students need all the support and comments that will help them mature and gain confidence. Who knows the next Jamie or Nigella could be preparing your meal. Try it.

Obviously restricted opening as student operated but get down here as soon as you can. Evening meal of great quality tremendous value at £13 per head. Dessert a little too cold and bland but otherwise really enjoyable with good service equal to most restaurants.

yet again these students have surpassed themselves.the meal was fabulous, so much food. we had beautiful starters and fantastic burger with hand cut chips, onion rings, winter slaw and a beautiful mayonnaise on the burger for our mains.desserts were equally scummy.service was outstanding as usual.if you have not been please try it, as these students need the supportof the local public and where else would you get freshly prepared Canapés,starters, mains, desserts, coffee/tea and free bottle of house wine for £13 per head.
