Just back from a week in Southwold made all the more better by the superb food at Coasters best Sunday lunch ever followed by a lovely midweek meal you can see why you have to book the number of disappointed people who had to be turned away says it all wonderful friendly staff and lovely food well done if you want to go book

A great birthday meal in the beach huts for my husband, the food was delicious & the service was amazing - the lovely staff added birthday confetti & a handwritten postcard to our table.

Super place with great food and service. We had a beach hut out the back for four people, which was a unique and quirky experience and we loved it. Enjoyed it so much we tried to book again but they are so busy we couldn't get in, so book early as they are quite deservedly very popular

Looked forward to our 4 days advance booking after seeing people dining through the window and good reviews prior to our booking. However on arrival, we were taken to a “beach hut” (1 of 3) at the outside rear of the premises passing several occupied and unoccupied tables in the restaurant area on our way. The beach huts were in the same area as the outside toilets - not a good first experience and I'm sure there was no mention of the possibility of being booked in a small beach hut when we made the booking. If we had we would not have booked. To the manager - We were looking forward to the ambience and atmosphere of Coasters restaurant which was none existent in the “beach hut”

I have been twice. Dinner in the beach huts is a must when visiting Southwold! Food is delicious and good value. They gave us fudge with the bill and the next day we went next door to ask if they sold any. They didn’t but gave us some from the kitchen to pay for. Kind people and will visit every holiday!

Julie and Kate were friendly and welcoming, the surroundings are lovely and the food delicious. Huge main course portions, we couldn’t manage a pudding after having a starter. Highly recommend this restaurant for ambience, great service and lovely food

The most delicious food! This was our first time visiting Coasters and it certainly did not disappoint. We booked a beach hut to dine in, which was very comfortable and made the experience unique! Highly recommend and will be returning!

Lovely food in a smartly done out restaurant. The beach huts are a great addition although we sat inside. On a Saturday night it was completely packed, so it is essential to book in advance. The food was, great, pub classics but done in a gourmet style with a heavy emphasis on seafood. The portions are large. Good value and a great night out. As it was so busy the service was a bit slow, but that was fine.

Stayed in southwold for 2 days this week, ate various meals lunches, evening meals etc, and Coasters was by far the best, I had tempura prawns to start and pork belly for main, just the best and great value. Would definitely go back

We had one of the beach huts so great atmosphere and we could control our own heating and music. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

The food here is great quality, not to fancy, but nicely presented , the atmosphere in the main room was relaxed and a nice vibe… only two staff, but they managed the room with expertise and skill, we wanted for nothing.. cream brûlée was on point… and the best surprise, 3 courses for two with drinks under £100… we will definitely go back

Lovely place to stop for breakfast before our daily walk. Dog friendly out back. Blanket provided is for human use only, so bring your own if needed!

Best dining experience in Southwold to be honest. This little unobtrusive restaurant exceeded our expectations. Staff were attentive, polite and friendly. Food was superb, especially the pork belly, best we've ever had. Made our last meal of the holiday really special. We will be back.

Had both breakfast and dinner here. Fabulous food, lovely friendly staff and nice atmosphere. They have dog friendly booths like sea huts outside, great idea. Be there well before 10 am for brekkie as they stop serving at 10 sharp to prep for lunch and do book for dinner as its a very popular venue.

Unpretentious and inexpensive. Varied and superbly cooked food with great attention to detail for those with allergies or other requirements. Advanced booking both worthwhile and advisable.

Perhaps it was a bad day but the cake we had was dry and unappetising.The coffee was good but we felt we were just in the way and were only offered a small choice when we asked for cake and coffee at eleven.

Really enjoyable meal Some of restaurants were shut when we were in Southwold but this was the best food we had on our stay. Food was fresh and very tasty and not very fussy. Staff are lovely and very accommodating. We had a hut out the back which our 2 kids loved (as did we). Have nothing negative to say about our experience at Coasters will defo go back when next in the area.

What a great find! Visited on 28th March, and everything about the place was outstanding. My friend did have one minor issue- the haddock was too large to finish, although other diners did not appear to feel the same. Loved the beach huts outside for diners with dogs, such a great idea. Will definitely be back.

Lovely restaurant and great food,we went for evening meal and it was outstanding highly recommended.

Enjoyed our coffee & hot chocolate plus cake. We sat in the back it's a bit cramped and the coffee machine is so noisy you can't have a conversation. Every table in the back was saying the same. Toilets are outside over a high stepped door. No good for me as I'm disabled. No offer for anymore

A wonderful dining experience, delicious food and lovely service by staff. Dessert was the best cheesecake ever! Our visit was for family birthday celebrations and the Coasters Team made it very special. We can't wait to return. Highly recommend a visit!

Great idea to have lovely huts in the back that had their own heater, radio and blankets. Table sat 4 comfortably and you can close the doors if you really want to keep out the cold. Food was very nice with pleasant service.

Have had a lovely time there previous years, but as a vegetarian I was left feeling sad. No starter except soup, a main that was really a super tasty and rich side dish that was crying out for a main piece plus fresh veg. I'm having to mark it down in 2024. Staff great, even ready with a mop for a flooded toilet adding to the adventure 🤔 - sorry Coasters, you have been better 😞 --- after a night of discomfort from bad food my review is unfortunately being downgraded from a 3 to a 1 for the food. Booked a hut, I really recommend pre booking as this place can get very busy. It was a lovely, private experience being in the hut, there is even a radio! The food is really nice, I recommend the lamb roast and the tomato soup, and the staff are super friendly. I recommend this restaurant to most, apart from if you are vegetarian, as there is a lack of options for vegetarians, however I will definitely be back.

Amazing restaurant, we ate here twice, a fabulous dinner and an outstanding breakfast. Lots of GF options, staff and kitchen very understanding of other dietary restrictions. If you're in Southwold this is a must visit establishment.

During a stay in Southwold we chose Coasters to celebrate our wedding anniversary - what a fabulous find! The atmosphere and ambience is absolutely delightful, the staff really welcoming and the food was just off the scale in the very best way! Fresh food beautifully presented and wherever possible locally sourced and it all tasted just divine - all of this along with a couple of personal touches to make our evening very memorable - a heartfelt thanks to all, highly recommended.

Popped into Coasters and they were so accommodating. Kate, our waitress was wonderful. So friendly and lovely. It’s such a nice place and a lovely atmosphere. Perfect.

A hidden gem with a warm welcome and first class food. If you are staying in Southwold it is ideal but if not then it is well worth making a trip to eat here. Highly recommended.

Lovely experience at this very small and intimate restaurant. Can understand why it is hard to book a table. We were lucky and got a call back after a cancellation. Much appreciated them calling us. Great atmosphere, attentive service, great food at great value. Plus some very unusual spirits.

Love this place . We went for Mums 88 th birthday( was my 61st also ) . Mum and 1 of my aunts had the double egg ham and chips, my other aunt the homemade sausage roll and chips and I had the coronation chicken sandwich with fries and homemade coleslaw . It all tasted great . I asked for a gin and tonic and was told there are 38 kinds to choose from , heaven . The Lemon curd bread and butter pudding which we all had was amazing . All round a good time was had by all of us . Our new favourite place .

Amazing little diner, highly recommend.

We weren't in a hurry, it was a good job. It's a bit pricy 11.50 for a sani. It comes with 10 thick cut chips and home made coleslaw. The coleslaw I got was the thick ends, so, if there was a choice I would have just had the sani, and for it to be cheaper.

This was our second evening visit to Coasters and on both occasions the food and service was excellent. We can also throughly recommend the breakfast

Amazingly accommodating service. We got there a little early and were given a couple of options for seating choices. We found that the 'beach hut' seating was indeed very charming! They settled us in and took drinks orders straight away. The coffees were a welcome sip as the rain found it's way overhead, but sheltered by the beach hut and covered outdoor area, we enjoyed our well-priced and high-end lunches with a smile! Can't thank the team enough for a memorable trip to Southwold to celebrate our 1 year anniversary!

Coasters is such an excellent restaurant, the only bad thing about it is how hard it is to get a reservation which speaks to how popular it is. The food is great, service is impeccable; if you want to go make sure you book in advance.

Food and staff were lovely. We sat in little beach huts with music piped in, which was lovely. They also have air conditioning in hut, which is a good thought to keep customers comfortable. Very good experience and would recommend. Cost included bottle of nice wine.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Coasters last night, in one of their "beach huts" pods where our dog joined us. The food was wonderful, great portions, fresh and tasty, only shame we couldn't manage to fit in dessert. Lovely friendly staff and we will definitely be back. Well done Coasters.

Lovely little restaurant in the heart of southwold. Beautiful beach huts in the back to dine in. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Went out of their way to accommodate me regarding my gluten intolerance and made me gluten free battered fish!

Friendly staff, fabulous food! I had the haddock & chips, I've never seen such a large portion of fish! Beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious! We went back to Coasters the next night after having a poor meal elsewhere, and ordered dessert as we'd been too full the night before! I definitely recommend this place!

Lovely ice cream, hot chocolate and coffees

Visited here for dinner. The food is fantastic with a great choice. The dressed crab was possibly the best we've ever had. The puddings were decadent in the extreme. You will need to book as it's very popular, but it is well worth a visit.

Nice food and choices of drinks

Excellent food. Tempura prawns really succulent with light, crisp batter. Slow roasted belly pork was superb. Served with black pudding, apple sauce, crackling & potato rosti. Perfect dish. Loved it. Thank you.

A very good experience, its a small place and rightly popular it knocks the spots off the nice but very expensive hotels, with locally sourced food, fish from local boats landed that morning, friendly efficient service very well cooked & presented, they have a gin list of 70 to choose from, it's essential to book as it's that good with locals and visitors like me.

We turned up on spec on a Bank Holiday Sunday, so they were fully booked, but they managed to squeeze us in for an hour and twenty minutes, which was enough for a starter and a main, and they never made us feel rushed. I had a great big portion of whitebait to start and then the "smoked haddock rarebit" which had Indian flavoured rice, so I guess it was a twist on Kedgeree. They were both very tasty. The menu is very varied. I would also recommend the Sula, Indian Sauvignon Blanc. Staff were excellent. I would definitely return, and book a table next time to make sure I have time for dessert.

This restaurant is disgusting place to eat I had Childs meal as I can't eat a lot chips with fish bites and bake beans well the chips was cardboard cut outs the bake beans was stone cold the fish bites was well I don't know the batter was colourless and soggy. My husband had liver and bacon the liver was so over cooked it was tougher then his shoe leather. My son and his girlfriend had chips and ham the eggs and ham did look nice but far to much ham more like half a pig but they did say the ham was nice shame about the chips. Hmm should have gone next door to the proper fish and chip shop. We only went there because we had a toddler and it said family restaurant.

Aunque los precios son ligeramente más altos que una bolsa de pescado y patatas, espere hasta que vea el tamaño y cómo es el pescado blanco - vale la pena cada céntimo!

Nice enough place, but on the day I went there wasn't a single vegetarian option on the menu. They ended up making me a cheese sandwich, which filled a hole. I just can't remember the last restaurant I went to which didn't have a vegetarian option. (Hard cheese containing rennet isn't vegetarian).

Cuando la lluvia comenzó y diversión comida en Posavasos, todos tenían algo diferente, pero todos contentos con la habitación bien presentado, caliente y delicioso, el personal amable, agradable, con vistas al mar. Un final precioso a nuestro día. Gracias, el abuelo! Volveremos el próximo año en el día tradicional de Hunstanton y sin duda será comer en 'Posavasos'.

Estaba en la búsqueda de un asado los domingos y encontré este lugar. Mi hijo pidió salchichas y patatas fritas y un tango. La camarera regresó. No tango. No hay problema, él tendrá 7. No 7. Después de preguntar qué tenía él acordó un Dr Pepper. Asadas era buena. Las camareras eran agradables y el precio no está mal.

Me and my partner both had scampi and chips which was cooked lovely.only thing I would suggest is a salad garnish on side of meals.my daughter had cod and chips and peas which was good size for a kids meal.prices of meals was reasonable and staff were friendly

We only stopped for tea and coffee Sat outside which is the best view as long as it's warm The staff were friendly and we had the biggest pot of tea ever! Very reasonable and possibly the cleanest toilet in Hunstanton!

Friendly staff, decent food, reasonable price. You can certainly do worse. My family and I enjoyed eating outside, looking down to the beach.

Después de visitar para el almuerzo el 12 de agosto y todavía tener hambre insatisfecha, sinceramente estoy sorprendido de ver que este lugar tiene un promedio de 4 estrellas.

Durante unas vacaciones en la zona pasamos un día en Hunstanton un día tradicional en una ciudad costera. Atracciones, diversiones, mini golf y pescado y patatas fritas. Encontramos Posavasos tras preguntando en varios lugares (no pretendía hacer!).

We went with friends to this Restaraunt last night, after a day spent at nearby Sandringham. The Restaraunt has tables with views over the Wash which makes the meal experience quite relaxing. Service was quick and friendly and we had a little wait for our meals to arrive, which usually means that they were freshly cooked. The fish and chips were well portioned and not greasy. The haddock my wife and I had was quite large and had a good flavour, I had some mushy peas as an addition which I found quite bland in flavour. Overall we all enjoyed our meals and came away feeling full.

We decided to try Coasters after seeing the reviews on Trip advisor, to be honest was a little disappointed food was ok (had fish and chips) fish was a bit soggy of the bottom from the oil, also ordered a side of garlic mushrooms which came when we were half way through our mains, we were advised there was a problem with the first batch. Staff were polite enough, and the views were nice.

My hubby , daughter and I was walking around Hunstanton looking for a place to eat our last meal of our holiday when we came across Coasters Restaurant who were closing for the evening. To our surprise they opened up again just for us how lovely, we felt very special. We ordered two chicken New Yorkers and a blues burger for me they came with chips and peas/salad. It was really lovely my daughter said the best chicken she has eaten in a long time.All the staff , manager/Owner were very friendly and chatty we was made to feel we were one of the family.We are so looking forward to visiting you again next time we visit Sunny Hunny.

We decided to have a day by the sea and tradition fish and chips for lunch, we weren't disappointed, the food was delicious, the fish freshly cooked with crispy batter and even the mushy peas were authentic! Will definitely go again. Would be nice if it was licensed as a cold beer would have gone down a treat on a hot day!

Me and my daughter spent the day in Hunstanton, and ended with a lovely meal,it was a very friendly restaurant and the food was first class, definitely be visiting again!!!

Lovely food but it was a shame we couldn't get a drink as it is not licensed to sell alcohol.The music playing in the backround was from the 60's which was a bit of a surprise.

Had a Sunday lunch here and did not enjoy the food. The positives for the meal were, it did not take long to arrive after ordering and the waitresses were very friendly and pleasant. The food however was not of a very high standard and though the vegetable portions were adequate, the meat portion was not very big, (I think they use a table coaster for the portion size). The food was only warm, not hot, and quite bland in taste.

Brilliant service all the staff were more than helpful. Excellent range of vegetarian options - very unusual to find such a variety and not feel you're being fobbed off with a potato or pasta.The fish was fresh & delicious, 4 of the party had the pensioners special which compared to the normal portion looked small but in fact was quite substantial. 1 had the brunch which he said was very tasty and met his high standards. A very good all round experience, just off the Green I would definitely recommend highly and will be going again.
