Maybe I’m missing something but I see no plus in eating my high tea in a dry dock with no atmosphere under the hull of a ship. As it’s on the way out hundreds of people mill past- it’s ok for the price but o out of 10 for an experience.Plus no-one at reception seemed all that geared up when I arrived with my ticket- it seemed as much a mystery to them- is it not that popular?.

Stopped in for a beer on the way back to my AirBnB from a conference at the Intercontinental at the O2. Ended up having two beers and the crab cake which was fantastic, as was the service and the setting. Quintessentially British, right on the awesome Thames walking path, I was totally charmed by this very authentic establishment. The bathroom was immaculate and supported the impression that the Cutty Sark is a well managed pub in a unique location. The staff was more than helpful and accommodating.

My two children, 14 and 11, were agreeable to attending this tea, at the Cutty Sark. Their father has taken them on many "teas", mostly within Ontario, so it's no an unknown thing to them. So, the price was reasonable (for a tea in London) and it was booked. Under the Cutty Sark is a large, cavernous area, filled with activities, people and the restaurant/cafeteria. Not the quiet setting normally offered for tea. Food was nice: sandwiches, pastries and scones, along with tea, Prosecco and even hot chocolate for my 11 year old. Eating in the cavernous, busy environment was less than ideal. People milling about, children running around ....lacking any atmosphere that suggested we were under the famous ship. It's too bad, really.

Impressive menu, but food was pretty ordinary. They had a selection of three soups in the soup of the day which can only mean they are whipped out of a packet. Strawberry milkshake was no more than Nesquik in milk. Fish in the fish and chips appeared to be fried in stale oil. Items ordered from the menu were different than the description in the menu (e.g., missing tomatoes and tartar sauce).

Top deck was the cabins and underneath the was a coffee shop and more bits to take in. Lovely chap showed the kids some knots and played quoits. It was the perfect place for lunch after touring the ship and saved us trying to find somewhere nearby but it did come as a surprise that it was there (either no signs or we missed them) and you can't visit unless you have paid to go round the ship. Two years ago my husband and I visited this cafe and the standard was very high indeed, in all aspects, mainly food choice, cleanliness and service with a smile. I had pea and mint soup and it was the best ever! I was actually excited at revisiting this place with my daughter ......... my goodness what has happened?!! The menu on the wall was completely blank - empty of choice. There was three french bread pizzas amongst the meagre display of 3 cut sandwiches to be toasted. We asked for two french bread pizzas, and could they be heated. They were plonked on a plate by a disgruntled man who looked like we were an inconvenience to his time. I asked if they were hot, he replied that they had been cooked. They were stone cold, & I had to ask again if he would please reheat them. We got them luke warm, with a scowl! There was no sugar on the tables, just containers on the main counter with white in them, which could have been salt. Some tables were dirty and when we went downstairs again later they had still not been cleaned despite there being no one in the cafe. Pure laziness. This place totally lets down the high standards of the Cutty Sark and helpful reception staff.

I could of give you guys 0 start if there is a option for that. I have been to your restaurant today and I felt really disappointed. I was with my friend try to find somewhere with nice kebab and doner and pass through your restaurant and I've had to say that it is the worse chicken doner I ever had I my life. It was so dry like more than dry but I have no word to describe that, though. By looking at the chicken everyone can tell how dry it is, I felt like you guy didn't put oil in or maybe it been there for too long that is why it was so dry, not even chewy, and you guys charged for £8.90. Also the salad it like so little, not even much as a small takeaway shop just with £4.50 and better salad. To be honest, I can find somewhere else with better quality foods than that price or even cheaper and in a proper restaurant . Just one to let you guys know that you guys need to change that. Could not believe our eyes when he bent down and openedthe cellar floor hatch in the kitchen area, and disappeared down it. When he came back up he then closed the hatch on the floor without washing his hands picked up the bread and buttered it !! He then proceeded to pick up the black pudding cut a slice off and drop it into a deep fat fryer along with mushrooms and sausage using the same knife to cut everything and wiping it in to a dirty tea towel !! Not once did he wash his hands throughout, scratching his head, lifting up the hatch in the floor he was walking on !! Unbelievable !! It was stomach churning to watch. Needless to say the food was not consumed !! This restaurant is also a Turkish grill house if this standard of hygiene happens at 11.30 in the morning who could imagine the hygiene late at night ??Oh and on the wall was a certificate of good hygiene !! The chef came out with the cake stand with 4 types of sandwiches, 4 types of cake and a scone each with jam and clotted cream. She told us exactly what the cakes were. The staff were lovely. We had a really lovely couple of hours relaxing, chatting and having tea. We would highly recommend it and will def book to go again. It was amazing value at £19.95, as it included entrance to the cutty sark, which on its own is £13.50. If you don't want tea they had a huge assortment of cakes and sandwiched that you could buy. I don't understand why the other reviews are so bad. Was I in a different pace ?

I ordered the cod fish, chips and peas with tartare sauce. When we got served i asked about the peas, was told none was left. Was not told about this before the meal was served. Also no tartare sauce was given. The chips were over done, the cod was oily and greasy. The waitress tried to charge us for TAP WATER and also for the container to take the left overs! (Was for the compost!) Complete joke and will never go back. Also it says HALAL...they serve alcohol and bacon...so if you are muslim i would not go.

Attracted by the extensive menu in the window and the positive greeting. Ordered a burger and chips and found it to be very minimalistic. Hardly any chips and the burger was sat inside a bun with no sauce or any salad etc so was quite dry. Needless to say did not go back

Wow, greeted on the street from inside by Petra as we walked by, having a bit of a time after a long day at the Greenwich sights. The menu was appealing - a nice mix of Turkish and other Middle Eastern fare - but Petra and owner Ozzy welcomed us in like we were old friends visiting after years of being away. Our son was fussing over a headache, and we probably did not look like an easy table, but Cutty Sark Cafe had a remedy for all of our ails and appetites. A milkshake and super-quick kids plate soothed our son, Petra gave my wife a hug (not on the menu but free of charge), and they let their last bottle of Efes Turkish beer go to me. Ozzy was not shy about meeting us, despite being both boss and chef; rare these days to see the owner so invested in daily operations. There are more traditional and "old" style places in Greenwich, but I think the quintessential British hospitality is definitely alive and well here. If you want a change of pace from pub fare or some of the more commercial/tourist venues, come to Ozzy's place and have the meal of your vacation.

It is unfortunate that many of the reviews here are not for the very nice little Cutty Sark Café on Greenwich Church Street but for the over-priced tourist trap underneath the Cutty Sark itself. We often go to the Café and it is always a pleasant experience with good food at reasonable prices and very friendly service.

A splendid high street cafe just around the corner from the Cutty Sark itself. The menu covers classic cafe food but specialises in mediterranean specialities. Kebabs and seafood are served in huge portions by a friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable and the premises are licensed. A cut above your average cafe

We stopped off in the cafe for a slice of cake and a drink after visiting the Cutty Sark. I had a lovely slice of carrot cake my husband had the Zebra cake which was really heavy. The service was good as was the location sitting beneath the Cutty Sark but it was quite cold and cavernous too. The table next to us were having the afternoon tea which looked great.

You won't find many cafes situated directly under the hull of a ship. I felt it was very expensive - two peppermint teas came to £4.40, essentially just a tea bag and hot water. It was nice to have the option of a sit down after walking round there ship though.

A group of 9 of us stopped in for a bite to eat on the way home from a Saturday night out, it was approx 1.30am. We were all served very quick, and sat at the back of the shop. We then realised there was a bar there, so the friendly staff also came to the back to the bar and served a couple of us drinks. A box of chips were knocked over, and immediately the staff member was there with a broom telling me my to worry and asking if I'd like more chips. Great service and food was ok too.

Após a visita ao Cutty Sark resolvemos comer lá. Pedimos sanduíches e cafés que estavam muito saborosos. O atendimento é simpático, mas não vi muitas opções de pratos para almoço. A localização embaixo do barco é que é fantástica!

As ever in London [attractions], eating is expensive. 2 latte's costed me £5.80, and they weren't very large. Location is nice however - you sit with the Cutty Sark suspended 10ft above your head!

If you want a full blown lunch then don't go here. If you want a nice sandwich or soup then do. The tea is good although they do need a water filter as it can sometimes cause a scum line to appear on the cup. The location is spectacular and the staff are very nice. If you are vegetarian then there isn't always have something suitable.

I would consider this more a fast food take away that anything else. The wraps we ordered were quite simple and the chips... tasted like if they were from the day before. My advice, just try any other restaurant... there are plenty of really nice restaurants and places for a bite in the area, with much better value for money!
