The worst Indian takeaway I have ever had. Rice was just mush and curry very watery. Most of it ended in the bin

Was looking for something local for dinner and curry mahal did not disappoint! Ordered to collect from restaurant, the owner was welcoming and chatty as we waited to our order. We got and jalfezi and shatkora which was so flavourful and unique, explains why it’s the owner’s favourite. Only regret was not sitting in, we definitely be back!

Great little local curry house. Coped admirably with 11 people turning up at 15 minutes notice on a chilly Tuesday. Very attentive staff. Decent house wine. Lamb Naga highly recommended.

The Rogan Josh was too hot and spicy for my daughter to eat. More like a madras heat. Phoned to complain but no offer of a refund. Also the Patia chicken was a tiny portion with only 4 pieces of chicken. Not impressed.

We were staying in Bath with friends for a couple of nights and we found this great place. This is a family run restaurant where they actually care about the food they serve! Although they have a drink license they allow you to bring your own wine! Nice touch. Food was excellent - probably the best Curry we have eaten. Portions were huge! Onion Bhajis were the size of tennis balls. The owner was great with us and offered advice on food choice and was keen to know more about our visit. Very friendly restaurant with wonderful food we will be back!

Very average, feeling it today, will not return

My friend and I came to Bath for the weekend, and fancied a curry on a Friday night. So we came here, and were not disappointed. Lovely curry, welcoming and friendly staff who were very attentive, perfect start to a weekend away 🤝🍻

Delicious food, have been going here for years and not been let down yet. Delivery can take a while, but well worth the wait.

Food was lovely, not overpriced.

It was delivered without a portion of boiled rice we ordered. It was delivered 15 mins later, somewhat late for the curry.

Meal was delivered around a hour later than it was promised the app keeps defaulting to 5 mins late instead of the 60 i want to report

This is quite an underrated little place. Out the way from town. If you want a genuinely good meal with solid service then give it a try. I know all the usual haunts, Eastern Eye, Bengal Brasserie, Sepoy Club. The list goes on. I would say it's probably better to dine in here. I have no idea what the takeout service is like. Yeah, I will go back.

We tried this place being close to the hotel having had a long travel. The food was amazing and clearly freshly made, best Indian food I have had. The staff were friendly, engaging and talked you through the food. Would definately recommend and will be back when next in Bath. 5 stars.

Lots of the food was very greasy and tasteless. When we arrived we were berated by a staff member for ordering through JE instead of directly from the restaurant which made us uncomfortable. The Dhaka Roll was literally swimming in grease and the King Prawn Butterfly was more like tempura prawns - not resembling a KPB at all. It seemed overpriced for the quality.

The owner was also our server. He was amazing! The food was so good! My American palate could have used some more spice, but I learned (belatedly) all I needed to do was ask!

Most of the containers were only half full. We have enjoyed a curry from there several times before, but won’t go back. If they are struggling with the cost of food inflation put the prices up- don’t reduce the portions- we just felt cheated! Veggie curry had hardly any veggies- just cabbage and sauce. C’mon Curry Mahal- you can do better than that!

I got a menu from this establishment over the Christmas, the meal my 2 friends and I came to about £40?? Only to find out when I ordered it over the phone, the person I spoke to said it was £65! And said the new menu I picked was months out of date. We got ripped off as I have a north east accent, and he tried it on. (Shame on You, I will be coming to see you the next time I'm working in bath)😉😉

Really tasty food, delivered earlier than expected and still piping hot. I’ve had so many cold deliveries of late. But this one was not one of them. My go to takeaway from now on.

Place was run down food was very very greasy curry was cooked in a ton of oil made us sick to look at and the bill was extortionate for what it is was not worth it at all and meat was dry do not go save your money

Missing the can of Coca-Cola and garlic nana cold

The staff were so friendly that I feel a little guilty giving only 2 stars. There is a bit of a run down feel in the establishment. The food was quite greasy, the naan in particular. Never had so much grease on my hands after eating one. The chicken in the jalfrezi was a bit hard, and again it was quite greasy. Considering how much it cost, this was disappointing.

First try here, the garlic chicken curry was delicious, with a lentily sauce. Everything was good.

The best curry in Bath, or the UK? We love hot curries, but not just 'we threw some extra raw chillis into this pre-made sauce' but 'we made an extra hot curry as requested' hot curries. The vegetable naga was sublime! The staff are really attentive and can't do enough for you. We will definitely come back here next time we're in the area!

Food very greasey, toilets disgusting even made me gag and I have a strong stomach, won't be returning there again unfortunately.

Honestly the best curry I have eaten in years!

Had a wonderful experience here in November 2020. It turned out to be our last meal before lockdown 2 and it was lovely. Great food, friendly staff and good value for money. Hopefully will return to Bath again and visit after coronavirus.

New to the area, tried a-few places but nowhere tastes as good as this place, ordered now on numerous occasions and I’ve never disappointed so far, the flavours are incredible and the portions are generous. Will always be coming back to the Curry Mahal.

My local restaurant however over the past few years it's been quite poor. Last went over Christmas and we had to throw the meal in the bin. Haven't been back since. There are better Indian takeaway such as the Masala Kitchen

Ordered a take away which arrived promptly. However whole meal was spoilt when we found and actually chewed on a long thick wirey black hair which was inside the naan bread. When we phoned to notify them and questioned whether everyone handling food wore hair nets, we were completely fobbed off and owner kept making excuses. We are both blonde btw so definitely wasn't ours! We were offered a free naan next time we order! No thanks.. Not a chance we'll ever be eating from this place again.

Revolting oil-soaked sauces with occasional pieces of meat surfacing. A meal sadly only fit for the food recycling bucket.

Had a chicken korma & dhansak delivered along with naans, chapattis, dips n all that. It was all tasty, service was fast & friendly...lush. Curry mahal is now saved in my phonebook as 'curry - nice' ☺

Like being in an episode of Hell's kitchen! Saw 2 tables walk out after waiting 1.5 hours. Just managed to get a lamb Baltic cause that was one of the orders of the exited tables. Would have been 1 star but the food wasnt too bad when it did arrive.

Good simple curry place, with decent veggie options and friendly staff.

I've not been to this place for sometime due to the last meal I purchased being very poor. Well I wish I hadn't bothered again! The vegetable curry is the most tasteless, watery 'curry' I've ever tasted. I'm also dubious as to whether the veg used is fresh as to me (I trained & worked as a chef) it looked like typical frozen mixed veg? It lacked any flavour whatsoever . The Keema Rice was much the same with the minced lamb lacking in flavour & spices. The meat in the Keema naan was much the same meat wise along with part of the bread being RAW DOUGH. Obviously this is only a few items from the menu but I am sorely dissapointed with the food. Staff are pleasant & the restaurant itself looks nicely set out but I shall not be ordering anything from 'Curry Muhal' again.
