We came as families to try Tea Time. And we are very happy to have come here. Warm welcome, wide choice of tea and generous accompaniment. We took 3 adult and 2 child menus; At the end we were full. I recommend if you want to discover this experience, personally I was delighted (and yet I don't like tea).

A busy little place, all geared up for afternoon tea. Waitstaff, in Regency dress, were very friendly and helpful. I'd made a mistake in our group's dietary requirements, and they bent over backwards to make sure we were accommodated. There was a little delay in being served the food, but that was down to me and my mistake, not the fault of the tea rooms at all. A nice afternoon tea with all the trimmings and a wide choice of teas. The crockery and china were cute, and the decor has a fantastic portrait of the Colin Firth Mr Darcy - I was opposite him at the tea table.

The person who waited on us was very surly and seemed unbothered. An absolute lovely girl in a pink dress brought our tea and she was so charming with a lovely warm nature. We ordered the Dashwood afternoon tea and it was not very generous on the sandwiches and scones. We were not sure if could ask for more but apparently we could. We also went to the museum afterwards and really enjoyed it, Mr Wickham was fabulous. Very articulate and informative.

The tea and food is good and tasty, small sandwiches and pastries, as well as macarons and the famous scones with clotted cream and jam to choose from. The waitresses dressed in period clothes are very friendly but the service is slow. If you choose it for the atmosphere... The truth is that it disappoints, you are in a room like in a room from the book "Pride and Prejudice". It's expensive, although afternoon tea is expensive everywhere. I would not repeat nor recommend it. There are hotels or restaurants with a more British atmosphere.

Plastic flowers on the table, milky flat white (no coffee flavour, tea cake dry. Service poor. I’m so sorry but I have to say it how it is - def not value and def no ambience. There were 4 of us girls (in our 60’s) and were so looking forward to it, our two friends had the full afternoon tea and the tea was the milkiest most awful tea despite using their ‘timer’ for tea leaves ! The sandwiches were not great. Seriously - it was a huge disappointment

I couldn't come to Bath without having afternoon tea with Mr Darcy. It was done this afternoon, an experience that I recommend whether you are a fan of Pride and Prejudice or not. Be careful, it's very plentiful, the products are very good and fresh. Earl Gray tea is incredibly fragrant, and of course lactose-free option possible.

If you're a fan of Jane Austen, or like the more quanter way of enjoying tea, this is the place for you. As afternoon teas go, the food was good but could have been better. The cakes and scones were wonderful, the sandwiches were a little disappointing (Tuna and Sweetcorn for the fish one was a little strange, but the cheese and chutney was delicious!) But you come here for the history and the ambience, with very friendly and attentive staff, gentle music and a peaceful setting. Well worth a visit, but make sure to book!

Got afternoon tea with Mr Darcey.. well it is not worth paying £26.... For that money can find amazing experience in other places. The only positive thing - it was nicely decorated. The tea room is small. I took their special tea blend, which was really nice, however the waitress could not explain which teas are mixed in it. She did not ask anyone else either. There were around 3-4 people serving that small tea room. As other comments mentioned, the food is mediocre and if this is the first afternoon tea to try, better to go elsewhere. I personally feel my money's are wasted. I would rather just get tea and desert a la carte. However I would have any desert recommendations, from what tried, bought macaroon was the best.

It’s quaint and very fitting for the Jane Austen museum that it’s in but, for the price you pay the portions are small. 2 cream teas ordered, tea didn’t make 2 cups per person and scones were very small considering how much you pay. Disappointing to say the least.

I hate complaining, and would rather give glowing reviewsm however this one cannot be passed off. We ordered the Darcy afternoon tea with Prosecco. We were looking forward to this all weekend. However when presented with the tea stand, it was clear whatever the idea was behind it was all wrong. I have had a fair few of Afternoon teas and to be honest having left - it just felt like a robbery or scam. The description was a decadent experience with exquisite cakes and delightful sandwiches. I am loathed to detail what we got here : The selection of sandwich was woeful - for the price - cheddar and relish ok, egg mayo fine but the bread and filling were mean, the ham was passable but expected some flavour and the tuna mayo should never have been on there - it was tasteless ( tasted more of tin) and was awful - truly awful. No sandwich stood out as reasonable let alone decadent. An American family sitting next to us also said it was really bad. You could have put a smoked salmon or cucumber sandwich would have made sense - see The Ivy in Bath at a similar price but their selection is another world compared - I don’t see how this selection is put together and considered decent fare. The scones / cream / jam were ok The tea was good - but we were not made aware we could have had another top up in fact we weren’t checked on or asked past the original serving. I strugle to explain the cakes, the macaron was ok - not my choice of flavour but executed well. But why were we given vegan choc cake and vegan Victoria sponge - we weren’t told but eating it we knew they were odd - texture and flavour all nothingy - when we overheard the other table saying it was vegan it kind of made sense - but why force us to have vegan ? It’s an option fine- but I expected a selection of traditional exquisite cakes and they were more along the lines of betty Crocker mix bakes… I just don’t get it - the whole experience. If we were told the selection was vegan before ordering we would never have proceeded with ordering it - I dont think it's unreasonable to expect traditional cakes unless otherwise requested. It was a treat for our wedding anniversary that we had long been awaiting and was so bad that we left feeling angry and robbed. The best bit was the tea and the prosecco. Having complained - I recieved an apology and an a hope that we might come back and try again... I hoped for something more in reply so I dont see how I could return, and I would recommend anyone to try any other tea room in Bath - there are many and you will be guaranteed a better experience . Come for the tour - but skip the afternoon tea - and avoid a world of disappointment.

I have never had such diabolical service. If I could choose a zero star review I would. We attended the tea rooms with my mother in law for a special birthday. When we arrived we were seated to the left as you walk in. Not even in the tea room per se and just outside of it. Right next to the kitchen and in front of the check in desk. On entrance the room had a charity shop aroma which was not pleasant. It was a hot day and the staff were all in these outfits which is fine but they were all complaining about the heat. We waited 1.5 hours to receive our afternoon tea. We were offered one drink in this time. I had a raspberry lemonade. It wasn't from the fridge nor did the staff have any ice. It was not refreshing. The tray they served the drinks on was full of grime and dirt too. Because of where we were sat we could hear all the staff in the kitchen swearing and getting moody with each other. One of the girls went into the kitchen and said everyone is looking at me and the other girl says angrily " stop looking at us". How rude. What else are we supposed to do. We were told 45 minutes in that there was going to be a delay due to them having to prepare gluten free sandwiches for another table. One of the staff members burnt some scones (which are not made fresh, just shop bought) and the supervisor just said sprinkle some more icing sugar on them so they can't see. (this is all happening behind us because of where we were sat. The servers did this in front of us and didn't even try to hide the fact that they were doing this. The scones were not black but definitely over done and should not have been served. I asked for a flat white with my Mr Darcy Afternoon Tea. I could hear the staff in the kitchen asking how do i make a flat white. They were swearing, laughing, not working at all. When we finally get our cream tea, one tuna sandwich had one bit of sweetcorn in and another two the tiniest amount of filling. We asked for these to be remade. The bread was not the nicest. We were told, we had to guess the fillings. The scones were presented the other side of the sandwiches and had salad underneath - yuck. Thank god we were not given the burnt scones but our scones were not the nicest, rock hard, crunchy even. We were given 3 pots of jam and one pot of cream. (between 4) When i asked for another cream the server took it from a different table and gave it to us. When challenged she said she didn't, albeit I watched her to do this. The supervisor was in the kitchen saying if they don't ask for a discount don't give them any. When guests were coming to check in they were queuing around our table which was off putting. Overall unorganised chaos and poor customer service. If we hadn't of pre paid I would have been asking for a discount.

We did the Tea with Mr. Darcy in the Regency Tea Room when we visited the Jane Austen Centre. It is a small tea room so I would suggest making reservations. The wait staff are dressed up as characters from Jane Austen's novels and the room is decorated with pictures of Jane Austen's characters. The food was delicious! My college aged daughter went with me and she loved it just as much as I did! She is a vegetarian so her sandwiches were all vegetarian. Had the veggie and vegan afternoon tea, booked two or three weeks in advance and confirmed at the door that we were veggie but still got served meat and were told it was our fault for not making it clear enough. Staff were really rude and dismissive, a member of our party really struggled with the heat and they made her quite uncomfortable. We waited at least fifty minutes from arriving before receiving any food despite having booked our time slot so far in advance. The food was quite nice but I would not recommend going back there. We had gone for a special occasion (my friends hen do) and they shoved us in a tiny corner, mostly ignored us, then as we left one of them said “happy birthday or whatever” to us. A bit of a let down.

I love High Teas and I wasn't disappoint at the Regency Tea Rooms. The staff were great and explained each item for us. The food selection was good. At first I thought it a bit pricey but the amount of food you get it was...

Worse afternoon tea! I took my mum for her first afternoon tea and what a disappointment! The sandwiches were just really poor, the scone and cakes weren’t the best, I am not sure it was fresh. The only good thing was the tea which was...

It could have been so much better! A small piece of cake £4.95 - never did get the raspberry coulis as mentioned in the big build up description on the menu, the tea and scones were fine - but the service (or lack of it)!!!! Our tea was served fairly quickly but as for the cake and scones - we waited and waited and waited..... as did everyone else. Young waitresses who couldn’t care less, seemed incapable of making a pot of tea and cutting cake at the same time. All the other customers seemed to be of the same opinion and several complaints. Only saving grace was the 10% discount with our Jane Austen centre ticket.

We had afternoon tea for my husband's birthday and our anniversary. Sadly it fell far short of our expectations! The bread was thick and the filling sparse and bland and not very nice. Salad garnish looked as though it had been leftover from the day before as it was limp and unappetising. The cup of tea was nice.

Un posto che ti riporta indietro nel tempo. Per chi ama il periodo storico, si tratta di un piccolo paradiso. Piccola tea room stile regency che riporta indietro nel tempo. Personale in costume. Servizio ottimo con varie possibilità sia nella scelta dei te che in quella delle torte. Noi abbiamo scelto "a tea with Darcy" 19.50 sterline.

We were served tea in beautiful pots. Sandwiches etc. arrived on cake stand but absolutely no explanation was given about the content - and one could only find out by eating them. Service otherwise fine. Teapots were filled on request. I could but help to notice that one of the young ladies serving wore a very dirty apron.

Came with my friends for a pre-booked session of karaoke (we are all uni students) and was refused entry by the management as I didn't have a physical ID but rather a photo/scan of my passport, even though I do not drink alcohol and was just planning to order food. The policy seems super unclear, why is it not written on the website? Very disappointed...

I visited the cafe yesterday for afternoon tea, and was disappointed both by the service (we had to wait about 15 minutes for our tea) and also by the lack of variety and high price of food compared to previous cafe. I am also disappointed that there is no (or very little) outdoor seating as I used to enjoy sitting outside. On the plus side, it is nicely decorated and still has the nice outlook!
