Lovely tea, juicy beautiful cakes and staff that were a delight

A nice place to sit. Went during Bath on ice. Busy, but managed to get food OK.

Another great lunch. Very busy but it ran like clockwork. No lengthy waiting time, food nice and hot, 7 veg and extremely tender beef. What a pity this place is closing - it is going to be very missed. Hopefully George will continue to serve his loyal customers in the future, wherever it may be.

If I could leave 0 stars I would, absolute disgusting customer service! Wrong drink given and I was refused to change it. Asked if I could please get the order corrected and had a blatant no! Arrogant staff who certainly do not serve with a smile. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Amazing find just a little stroll from the Royal Crescent.? Clean, Dog friendly and amazing Victoria sandwich cake. Staff amazing and toilet was spotless. When visiting Bath again we will be back. We thought best cafe in Bath .

Weak tea, dried up ugly cakes, and a staff that would rather be some place else. Be sure to bring 20 p for the public toilet, it's the best seat in the house.

Lovely cafe with lovely staff. And lovely views! On the way back from a stroll in the Botanical Garden, just before leaving the Victoria Park, we love a relax over a coffee here, before the hurly burley of Bath. Recommended - and there's nice loos.

We were doing the Treasure Hunt Bath and called in for a cup of tea, a piece of cake and a sit down. The pavilion was a typical 'sea-side' (although we were in Bath :-) )pavilion cafe - like a canteen layout. We wanted home made cakes and they had them. A good choice of yummy bakes and we had the berry slice which had oats on top. It was lovely. Just what we wanted. The views weren't really very spectacular on the whole as the park area below the windows looked tired and in need of tlc but it was pleasant enough for what we wanted and we would definitely recommend the cakes. It is a good stop off on a walk and there are toilets there too which is a boon.

Just popped in on the off chance as we were on a day trip to Bath. Soup and Sandwiches were excellent. Soup piping hot and homemade. Sandwiches made to order and just perfect. Staff well fantastic. A lovely lunch in a fabulous little cafe. Well recommended!! 5 star

Didn’t disappoint. The chef certainly knows how to cook a great Sunday roast. Counted 7 vegetables as well as lovely roast potatoes and all beautifully done and piping hot.

The chef knows how to serve a perfect roast - crunchy and tasty potatoes, 5 veg done perfectly, good helping of tender beef. Marvellous. The cakes and flapjacks - best I've seen anywhere. Will certainly go again and made sure the chef was complimented.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. We visited here for a much needed hot drink, it's very basic and could be much better, however the worst thing all of the toilets were apparently out of order even the disabled one. You were instructed by a crude hand written note to use the ones by the ice skating rink.....not so easy if you are disabled.....as this place is not disabled friendly we will not be back

We stopped here whilst visiting the Royal Victoria Park on a sunny afternoon. This was approximately half way though our 2-hour stroll and the coffee was most welcome. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and answered a question about a nearby area that featured some large sandpits. These turned out to be public pseudo beaches to allow families to gain the beach-experience without traveling to the coast. The coffee was cheap at £2.65 per small cup, it was strong and hot, but the hot milk ordered to add to our Americano coffees was either forgotten or not available.

The cafe is in a great position below The Royal Crescent and it is unusually light and spacious. It has an outside seating under trees and two small outside seating areas at either end of the cafe. The food is simple but good and well presented. I usually have lunch here - a sandwich or soup and cakes and ice cream are available too. I like a beer here in the summer. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's an unpretentious cafe, clean and well cared for and welcoming to everyone. It looks out over tennis courts and an area used for Bath on the Beach in the summer. I found it by accident and use it regularly.

We often come here but never thought to leave a review before. We sometimes pop in for teacakes/Coffee on a breakfast time which are lovely but the absolute gem is the Sunday roast. I've never had one so flavourful! I don't know what George does during the cooking process but it's nothing short of magical! The staff are always friendly and helpful too. I cannot recommend the Pavilion enough. (Make sure you book in advance though! )

Difficult to order behind a screen. Asked if they had apple juice and they said yes, but they lied. Dirty seating area. Charge to use toilets. Rude staff.

Lovely fresh food, quant little cafe

we went to this cafe earlier this week and enjoyed it immensely. The refreshments were excellent - very home-made tasting - and the staff were efficient and friendly. It's roomy, airy and very clean - just what we needed at the moment.

Over priced, staff very off-hand. Worst milkshake ever. Milk was tepid, not mixed properly, undrinkable! Asked for a side of coleslaw with a sandwich i had ordered and it was put inside the sandwich!!!

We were a group of 8 today, wanting to share a few pots of tea, but were required to buy 8 pots to get 8 cups. Quite rudely told to go elsewhere if we didn’t like the arrangement. The cafe could do with a facelift I feel and a more convivial approach all round. Disappointing.

Nice location, popular with the older Bathians, and conservative fare. We had coffees that were nothing to write home about, but nonetheless they were served by a friendly staff member.

Good place for a hot drink and a sandwich.....pretty good menu and prices for location. Have been several times recently and always seems to have a table free. No doubt will go back to being extra busy post Covid restrictions.

The cafe is run by lovely people, the cakes are amazing and very home made. The tea is good quality too. You need to pay 20p for the toilets which is a shame as a paying customer. It is basic decor, but a very good location. They also have seating outside when the weather is warmer.

Can't believe that diners/customers now have to pay 20p to use the toilet - cafes have to provide them by law and that doesn't mention charging!! (Whats so wrong with the old doorcode system?) Also asked for tap water, but that was not allowed either!!...

Plenty of space and excellent food but let down by a cheapness in attitude to one measly tea bag. The pot of tea is ample size but only comes with one tea bag making the tea quite weak. The request for an extra tea bag...

The Royal Pavilion in Bath is part of a large Georgian park which covers parts of the city. Always a joy to visit.

Lovely buildings it was a shame that the stone was so darkened by the atmosphere.

Good food overlooking the tennis courts

Had a fantastic beef roast. Five different vegables with the beef cooked to perfection. As a treat followed up with a dessert of apple pie and Custer. Looking forward to the next time we visit.

Snacks and light meals available but not cheap

Very nice little tea place. Views over valley to South and West of Bath but unfortunately low sun and leafy trees didn't show it to its best. Good tea served, more than I could drink! Didn't eat but looked clean and tidy place. Recommended.

Given its great location this was a bit of a let-down. Very hot and stuffy, limited space to sit outside and overall a bit untidy. They should be doing better than this.

It's quick, it's simple, and it's relatively inexpensive. The atmosphere, you say? Like a big cafe overlooking municipal tennis courts, which is funny, coz that's exactly what it is.

The most disgusting toilets I've ever been to and when I reported they were dirty I was told that they knew, someone had an accident in the morning, it was now 2pm and they still hadn't been cleaned! Won't be going back there again, ever!

Stumbled across this cafe whilst owl hunting in Bath on a very wet day. It’s a cafe serving really good homemade food. My husband had roast beef with all the trimmings and I had soup, followed by a cake. Food was hot, delicious and nicely...

This place is in need of some serious TLC, its just grime and dirt. Toilets are disgusting and I pity the staff having to use these facilities and then they are required to serve your drinks/food. Not again suggest you take your own food etc...

The venue had no vegetarian food on offer at the Avon Pension Fund Training. They only had meat on offer. This is the first time I have ever where I have been to an event with only meat on offer. Not very good in 2018.

I stumbled upon this cafe whilst on a shopping trip to Bath. I walked past and smelt the roasts cooking so popped in! Most of the tables were reserved but as I was on my own I found a table easily, ordered and had my dinner within minutes. It was lovely and reasonably priced too. Will definitely return if in the area again.

This is a lovely, well run cafe above the sports pavilion, just by the city entrance to the Royal Victoria Park and with a view over the bowling green. Its an idea place to relax, have coffee or a meal after a busy morning shopping in Bath. Ideal for the disabled with easy level access and parking right outside if needed.

Delicious Sunday roast very reasonably priced for Bath, will definitely be going back again soon, would highly recommend!

Had the most wonderful Sunday lunch here, it never ceases to amaze me how delicious the food is (especially as they've only got a small kitchen) whenever my brother is down for the weekend we always come here for Sunday lunch……… Must admit that we always book a table, as I would hate to be disappointed if we went to find they had no tables free…………. The food is always hot & well cooked with a good variety of vegetables……………..

Came here after playing mini-golf just down the road. Drinks were very reasonably priced. We opted for cake but the cakes didn't have labels so we had to ask what they were and I ended up with a coffee cake which I don't love because I must have misheard the man on the till. Prices also were not displayed clearly at all so it was hard to make an informed choice on what to have. Toilet token system (I understand why it is in place) but a little confusing. I would go for a drink as it is a nice setting but the cake leaves a lot to be desired - a bit stale and a little tasteless.

A colleague and I visited the Royal Pavilion Cafe for a business lunch. I work locally and was interested to grab a tea and relax in the outdoor area. The area on the balcony was delightful and was captured by the sun. I ordered a pot of tea,the first pot the tea bag had broken and I had to fetch a replacement. My colleague took a snack alongside my tea which was his own. He has special dietary requirements. Upon leaving the premises a male staff member shouted across the cafe and asked my colleague to 'stop sir' (in-front of customers) which was firstly embarrassing and secondly rude. He then proceeded to say in a rude and aggressive tone 'DO NOT bring your own food here' and he walked off. I was shocked and upset by his tone and approach. I do not feel this is a reasonable way to approach a customer and it could of been spoken about in a much more tactful way.
