Introduced to this place earlier in the week and loved it. Really delicious food and love that you can choose your size of rice, spice and a side too. Really tasty and great value. Second visit and had the thinly sliced beef curry. Delicious. Not a place for a long meal but a perfect refuelling before heading off to theatre or something!

This is such a great place, having visited Japan with my family last year we all loved Coco Curry House and were excited to find this in London. Food was fantastic, a mix of classic chicken and pumpkin. Delicious. Only tiny downside is that they didn't have the iconic spoons.....!!!

Its a nice restaurant, comfortable and the staff is polite and friendly. The curry was tasty. However, i felt the price quite steep and amount of chicken quite little. Looking at previous reviews it looks like the size of chicken has shrunk! I didnt feel it was enough chicken to go with the rice and sauce and did contemplate whether I should order more meat. However I am glad I didnt as the meal of 1 chicken katsu veg curry a few leaves in a side salad and a coke set me back £20. Was quite surprised at the cost for very little food. There are other places serving portions much bigger in Chinatown.

There is only so far you can go, with katsu. Nothing wrong with my meal, but not worth the queueing/hype. Staff are nice. Seven Dials food market is nearby and £20 spent there is a better investment.

I've been coming to this restaurant and their other location by Bond Street for several months now, and they never disappoint! If you want Japanese curry in London, this is the place you want to go. The service is always top notch, with friendly staff and fast service. If you're going to the Leicester Square location however, be prepared that they often have a queue outside due to limited seating. There have been times in the past before where the queue is somewhat long, so they will come out with menus for people to check and will even take orders while you wait for a table. This means when you finally sit down, they will start on your order right away so you can get your fill faster! The variety of curry here cannot be beat! With several spice levels, they really cater to everyone with different tolerance. I love a little spice, but I can't handle too much so I find that a level 1 is perfect for me. My partner doesn't like spice, but gets the standard rather than the mild as there is very little difference. If you want any spice at all, you want to start at a level 1. You can also choose how much rice you'd like, providing you aren't having an omelette curry which comes with a set amount. It's really great, as you can have a better control over the portion size you want at that time! Then there is a large variety of toppings you can choose, while many places just offer chicken katsu. You can have any combination of toppings, and they will even put them on a side plate if you ask. I love getting the chicken katsu and cheese, with some fried dumplings on the side. This place isn't the absolute cheapest curry I've ever had, however the variety of options makes it the best value by miles in my opinion. There is a 12.5% service charge added onto the bill, which doesn't usually add to very much but it is handy to know. This restaurant has easily become my absolute favourite, to the point that many of my friends associate the place with me and always message me when they go as I've introduced many of them to their delicious food. I cannot wait to come again!

We can’t make a trip to London without visiting Coco Ichibanya. The food and the service are always exceptional. There is never not a queue outside the front door and that’s a testament to how amazing this restaurant is. I have had lunch at Coco Ichibanya's today as I already went at least 50 times in the last 4 years and I am sorry to see that on the one hand, the prices increase, on the other hand, the quantity gets lower. I have had Katsu chicken and vegetables curry (chicken cutlet in another plate) and I didn't have enough curry sauce to finish the rice. Even the soup was served without tofu in it for the first time. Honesty dictates me to reckon they have the best katsu curry (best sauce taste and most beautiful crispiness of chicken cutlets) in the whole of Europe and the service was quick enough but this is sad to be a used customer and remain disappointed. Also sad that we didn't get the usual "arigato gosaimashita".

We’ve eaten here a few times but last time we were disappointed with the customer service we encountered. We were looking forward to our Japanese curry but unfortunately they didn’t have any accompaniments which was a let down and disappointing. As we were sitting a couple arrived at 9:45 pm and were refused a table even though there were still people eating and tables available which we found rather unaccommodating.

I've been to this chain in Japan many, many times and have been missing their curry dishes since the pandemic started. The curry at this restaurant in London offers the same taste as in Tokyo, which made me so happy! However, while paying, their card machine was malfunctioning (and this was a known issue by the staff) which made it difficult and stressful to pay since the machine kept losing contact with the card. We were not allowed to pay by cash either. But finally, after 10+ tries, the card machine cooperated. This problem should have been fixed asap though.

After going to Coco Curry in Asia I wanted to try them here hoping the food would be as good as I remembered and it didn't disappoint! I had the Chicken Katsu omelette curry, medium heat. It was very good and a well-sized portion, very filling. The naan bread was smaller than expected but tasted fine. The Wedges were also fine. The sides were ok but I don't need to try them again. However, I would definitely go back to try more of the curries. If you are in the area this is a really good casual option.

Had a craving for sushi somewhere in-between the high high end and Yo Sushi and chanced upon this place. Intending to do a lunch walk in for a la carte or one of their set menus, I was instead offered their Omakase menu only which is usually available via prior reservation only, more courses and of course, more expensive. The sitting was only half full so not sure why a la carte etc wasn't available. The edamame, dessert and miso were forgettable and barely deserving to make up three of the 11 courses (dessert was a scoop of ice cream) and the fish itself was good, prepared in front of you as you'd expect. It wasn't clear that the fish was "dry aged" so the flavours of classics were unique if familiar. The atmosphere was casual at lunch - this isn't pretentious although they still seem to be ironing out some kinks with the service - e.g some things were explained to one end of the counter and not the other. In addition to the lack of an a la option as suggested on their website (or set menus as featured in other reviews), the lunch Omakase is cheaper than on their website, which I only noticed after the fact as the so called encore sushi of your choice promised on the website was not offered so I double checked to ensure I had not misread. Overall a decent experience but some consistency in marketing/expectations management needed.

A fantastic little sushi restaurant. For lunch or dinner. Each of chefs selection (Omakasa) sashimi pieces had an actual melt in your mouth quality, that should be taken slowly and savoured for maximum taste. The reception staff, and waiting staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, with attentive service. The chefs were professional, and were visibly pleased to see us not only enjoy the food so much but also take their advice on the order the eat them. The head chef Rodriguez was a star, explaining where the fish and products were sourced from (many different places globally), while preparing the fishes in front of us, so we learnt the cuts and differences in texture and taste. We had great fun chatting to them all, with nice ambient music in the background. The prices were fair for the quality, and we probably over ordered during our stay because it was so good. We finished with the recommended homemade matcha cheesecake which was with only subtle matcha flavour (which suits me as I generally do not like matcha) and it was delicious. Lovely food and people. We will certainly be back.
