This is the second time I have had to comment on this wonderful place. I just popped in today for coffee and a toastie. What a wonderful deal they have on in there you get any coffee and your toastie for £6.50 and the toasties are to die for once you have had the toasties there you won't go anywhere else. But on top of that today their was a lad on making the coffee's called Ed and I had asked the assistant on the till for an extra hot cappuccino and it was just perfect and what i mean by that is it was lovely and hot nobody really listens when you say that and most of the time you still get a warm one 😊 Well done Ed and obviously the lady on the till as well who passed the message on. What a lovely place very enjoyable to visit I just love it

I am a regular at your shop in Tynemouth and I felt I had to come on here and comment on how efficient all your staff are in there. It is a right pleasure to visit and the staff are always so polite and have a bit chit chat with you I'm in about 3 or 4 times a week and the coffee is always perfect and I've never waited more than 5 minutes and they always bring it over to me and they always make a fuss of my dog she just loves them all when I come round the corner into Tynemouth she drags me over the road she knows where we are going and she can't have treats for her diet so she just loves the fuss they make of her. All staff in there including the new girl are amazing they all get on so well which is just amazing to see I put that down to an amazing manager staff ate happy if they are treated properly and it's also the best coffee in Tynemouth and toasties.😊

The coffee is okay here, prices are a bit steep for a standard large cappuccino. I asked for my coffee to go and was rudely told I had to wait outside. When my coffee was ready I barely heard my name be called and went in, whereas most coffees were being brought outside. There was a table in the window that I felt could have been used as a coffee takeaway waiting area. The set up is pretty cramped so I think that could have been a good idea. I’ve been here a few times and the staff have always been blunt and not overly friendly. I get they’re busy but it wouldn’t hurt to smile and be polite.

Coffees came out with a 10 minute gap inbetween. Food order had an even larger gap. Unfortunately not the first time this year that this was my experience there.

Busy, friendly, easy going. I love it here. Much more relaxed and welcoming to babies, prams and dogs than some of the other more pretentious establishments in the vicinity.

I just wanted to write a few words because over the last few months I have particularly took notice of one young lads customer service and his name is Adam at the Cullercoats shop. I always get excellent service in there I'm in there quite a lot because I honestly do think it's the best coffee around and I like the atmosphere and the fact dogs can be taken in there because I often walk my friends dog. Anyway about Adam I always ask for my coffee in a take away cup and this day he asked for my name Julie to put on the order and every time I have visited since he has remembered by name and exactly what drink I have and even if I haven't been served by him he has said hello Julie even if I have been sitting down. This might be just a small thing but I worked 40 years at Boots and I know this is the sort of thing that brings people back just good customer service. People are quick to complain so will you pass this praise on its well deserved Adam will go along way just with his personality alone, it's the likes of him that make our experiences in these venues most enjoyable

I’ve come here a few times to do work and it’s such a chill relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff. Coffee is excellent, my favourite in Whitley bay. Lovely decor also, which makes for perfect scenery when working.

Really nice coffee however there’s never any food or snacks available. there’s also no changing facilities for babies here and when I’ve been here with my baby I’ve panicked and had to go elsewhere in Cullercoats. Not what you need as a parent and all the other cafes have suitable baby changing facilities.

Worst sausages I’ve had anywhere, anytime. Couldn’t get my knife through the skin, and neither could the kids. Such a shame. Also can’t understand why they do breakfast buns but not a breakfast. No beans to be had at all, which disappointed us. Staff are lovely which makes it more of a shame I won’t return for food. Coffee was good.

Visited after reccomendation. Went for food but the kichen was closd and there was nothing to tell us that. So we ended up getting a cake instead, cake was very heavy and sweet so we struggled to eat it. We had a coffee and a chocholic but it was not anything to write home about.... very dissapointed. Sorry

Been here a number of times, food is equally as delicious every visit. The staff are so welcoming and friendly - creates a really lovely atmosphere. 10/10

Plus points - 1. The location is good and has nearby free parking. 2. The prices are ok for coffee and tea. 3. The decor and seating inside is nice. 4. The breakfast wraps are ok. Negatives - 1. I had a cappuccino, the milk was much too foamed and there was no smoothness to the actual coffee it was fairly harsh. I've had some excellent cappuccinos around whitley bay/Cullercoats, it felt like it had been rushed. 2. Porridge was provided in a small cappuccino cup, the cup was so small it wouldn't even fit the spoon provided... for over £3 it's not good enough. The fact the order was for blueberries and honey but it instead had a red berry compot was also fairly confusing.

Great coffee, lovely looking cakes and scones (I resisted the temptation to try) and the most cheery design I have seen. The bright yellow cups are guaranteed to make you smile!

Best bacon butty I’ve ever had, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Looking forward to returning soon.

I dined here with two vagabond companions recently & can recommend my bacon bun & cappucino, whilst my friends modestly ordered buttered scones & a pot of tea. Our meals arrived relatively quickly & our table was clean unlike some past disappointed customers on here. Free unisex toilet facilities provided & overall a positive experience which I would repeat if & when I visit the charming old Cullercoats in future.

Had a second visit with mum today, obviously a popular haunt as not a lot left to choose from, decided on a bacon butty & a ham & cheese toastie, didn’t take long to arrive & both were very nice, just a little disappointed that the table was still littered with dirty dishes from previous customers & wasn’t wiped down, when they were removed!

It’s a shame it’s changed hands, just not the same and the coffee cups have become sneakily smaller, the staff are good but a business where perhaps the new owners don’t get that involved in the actual running. It just lacks that injection of personality like the previous owner. I hope they improve as it had a great reputation.

Plenty of vegan options both drink and food-wise, the staff are absolutely lovely and very polite and kind. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. Coffee itself is fantastic and very well priced in my opinion. Feel very lucky to live just around the corner!

We love Cullercoats Coffee. Our family live nearby, and we’re always so excited to visit Cullercoats Coffee when we’re staying. You’re always guaranteed a warm welcome, as well as amazing coffee, food and cake.

One rasher of Bacon in bun very disappointing for the price 3.50 . However won't put us off visiting as coffee is exceptional and toasties good value.

We visit Cullercoats Coffee weekly - I wish it could be more often! The most amazing flat white, it really is a cuddle in a cup. Food is excellent- the sausage sandwich is lovely- and a good selection of sweet treats. It’s a great space, very friendly and welcoming staff. My only complaint is that it isn’t closer to my home!

Great coffee, lovely relaxed atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, and fab location next to one of my favourite coastlines. Not had much of the food, though what I have had has not been anything special. Perfectly fine though. Overall, would highly recommend.

I was so disappointed withe breakfast wrap it had no presenation ketchup spread all over a crushed processed hashbrown and veggie sausage grated cheese with huloumi and spread with ketchup on a cold not even nice wrap I always love the coffee here but that was a breakfast I could not eat !

Popped in this morning and had an amazing breakfast wrap and hot chocolate. Both piping hot and delicious. Staff lovely and helpful and spotlessly clean. Will definitely return.

Although I would usually visit with friends I called in by myself. Coffee and scone were delicious and excellent value (extra thanks to the chancellor). Coffee is hot and delicious and the scones are something else.One slight niggle, sitting inside it is necessary to walk past those waiting in the queue in order to leave via the designated exit door. I will return again though.

Visited again recently and it did not disappoint. Coffee is always delicious and made by experienced baristas. I ordered an Espresso which was excellent. Great buzz about the place and the perfect spot for brunch and a tasty treat. Signs are everywhere to ensure you are served swiftly and safely. Can't wait to be back next week!

Hair in food is almost common place and I’ve heard that members of staff take no precautions when it comes to hygiene. This is especially alarming due to the current pandemic. Overpriced food with a side of human parts is absolutely disgusting and I advise anyone to steer well clear of this place.If the owner of this establishment allows this to happen frequently then I can’t imagine the things that go unnoticed by customers. I didn’t feel compelled to write this review until recently as it is completely unacceptable. Staff should be ashamed of themselves. I’ve also heard second hand from a friend that fragments of a rubber spatula was found in their cake once - disgusting !!! Real shame because the members of staff are lovely and the layout of the cafe is unique, I’d be glad to return after lockdown as long as the hair problem is sorted

Best coffee and cakes at the coast are open for take away! Coffee was as good as ever today - prob better as hadnt had any for so long!

Been coming here for a few months and they always happy to help the food they do is really nice the coffee to, I don't know if this family ran but it dose feel like that and they always have a smile on their faces. Will be back again

This is a popular busy coffee shop. Good coffee served. Get a loyalty card. Sometimes busy with families and children. Good selection of scones and cakes. Friendly service.

Coffee, tea, cake and tuna sandwich was all we wanted. Tables crammed too close together, waited 15mins for my cake, another 5mins for my tea. Waiter wandered around unsure who had ordered the ‘flat white’, which was ours (the flag system doesn’t work!) another 5 minutes for my husbands tuna sandwich. Then told I’d been charged for toast I didn’t order! Fantastic food but please, please get the service and orders sorted. Sadly we won’t be back as the place is too crammed and service was dire. Let me know when you have organised yourselves better and know how to deliver customer service and I may return.

My disabled partner and I had heard good reports about Cullercoats coffee , the coffee society and breakfast clubs springing up in this location and we were keen to check out the placeMy partner has a built up shoe at around 6 inches and we struggled to move around such was the seating plan, the furniture had been re-cycled from an old primary school and there were flags dotted about indicating we supposed that the owners were well travelled but it turned out these were @waiting” flagsWe were given Outer Mongolia and the opposite table seemed to be somewhere in South AmericaIt took 40 minutes for a tuna melt that tasted like it had been flown in from the tropics without ice and the coffee was undrinkable - the staff all seem to be tree hugging extinction rebellion types in no hurry and I noticed one of them chuckling at my partner when the pain from her high hip condition made her sit bolt upright as if she had been electrocuted It took 15 minutes to negotiate past seated hippies and kids with dreadlocks before we escaped into the cold What a relief to be free from flag city

Had a lovely visit here. Off the main street but a hidden gem. The staff were very friendly, lovely jovial atmosphere. We arrived one hour before closing on new years day! Not much choice left for food but I highly recommend the lemon cake or black cherry and white chocolate cake, fresh, moist and full of flavour. Coffee was good too. Love the interior, mismatched furniture etc. Will return to sample more on the menu. Thank you!

Been coming here since it first opened on 3rd November 2014 and wrote a review on its first birthday 3 Nov 2015. My review then is as true now with great coffee, wonderful atmosphere, and food especially Lynn's cakes lovely. Congratulations to everyone.

Lovely puffed bleberry pancakes with raisins and Bacon. Fantastic yum yum. Have been there before with our son/ daughter in law and little grand daughter. Always welcoming. Cofee is fab. Nice place to sit / chat / relax. Lovely welcoming service.

Best cake to date - & that’s saying something because Linda is an exceptional cake maker! Raspberry & pistachio - totally yummy!! And of course the coffee is fab. X

Seriously, I’ve had worse coffee in Italy. These guys love their coffee and keep high standards. I don’t go here for food, it’s not my thing, but this place could live on coffee alone! If you spend your life asking for a cappuccino and keep getting served a coffee drowning in milk with a smear of burned aerated froth on top, get your self here for the absolute antidote.

We both had burger, mine was vegetarian, other half had beef burger. Both very tasty and cooked lovely, served with fresh salad. Coffee afterwards was also great. Staff lovely, nice decor and friendly vibe.

I have been away for a year travelling, and I am so glad to return to my usual cafe's. First return visit to Cullercoats Coffee yesterday and it was just so lovely. Cheese scone, light, airy, delicious and unlike many cafe's lovely cheesy taste. Coffee as delicious as ever and the service is fabulous. All of the staff very kind, friendly and lovely and warm and comfortable. Bliss to be back. Thank you.

A great place for coffee! An eclectic interior style, but really welcoming and friendly. The food and drinks are all hugh quality and we enjoyed it all.

Love it in here, the coffee is great and the staff are always so friendly! Also love that it opens early so I can get an early caffeine fix! The cakes always look great and its just got such a nice vibe.

Small, funky coffee house that does some of her best cheesescones around - and I am a bit of an expert on cheesescones. Today's cheese and chive was as delicious as ever. Nice crispy exterior and just enough chive to ensure cheese flavour not overpowered.

We always visit here before or after our game of squash and we always have a cortado, it’s always really good and the service is always brilliant! It’s a must for coffee lovers!! Couldn’t recommend it more ☕️☕️

Went in for takeaway and told immediately they couldn't make me a basic coffee and would be at least a 15 min wait. Faced with 'we are busy'. Too busy to make coffee? It's a coffee shop! If can't cope with takeaways, don't serve them. Or is it because they make more from sitting in? First visit and impressions count. Will be mine and my family's last.

I don’t normally write reviews but after meeting a friend who recommended we meet here for a ‘real’ coffee, I wanted to make a point of saying how right they were. Espresso was perfect! Place was buzzing with fellow coffee lovers. We know our stuff. Passionate staff, great tunes & a friendly, community feel. I’ll be back for more!

Went in this morning and had two excellent flat white coffees.place was busy and great atmosphere.will definately return.did not have to wait long.

Called in here for coffee, I asked if they did decaf coffee which they said they did. Waited about 10-15 mins or so for our coffee, and it tasted like it was out of a jar. At £2.20 each, I would have expected to have been told that it would be instant, then I'd have asked for a normal coffee. Unfortunately this has put us off going again.

We live about an hour away but visit several times a year and ALWAYS pop into Cullercoats Coffee for a consistently fantastic cup of coffee, the best I've come across in the North East. Sometimes we'll share a piece of homemade cake, if there is any left - you need to be quick! If we happen to visit over lunch we always have the burger which is amazing, and whilst we keep wanting to try other stuff as it all looks great, so far we daren't risk it at the sake of not biting into that thick tasty, well seasoned,homemade beefburger - how do they make it soooo tasty? The vibe in the place is always friendly with great background music playing, eclectic seating. It seems loved by young and old alike. Next time you're in the area pop in, you won't be disappointed.

We’ve been coming here most Saturdays for lunch for... must be a year or so. We absolutely love it. It does get busy at lunch time, but we’re rarely in a rush so we wait for a table top free up. The coffee is great, but the burger is one of my favourites of any place I can think of. But what gets it for me every time is the staff. It’s relaxed, it’s busy (which sounds like a contradiction in terms) but it just works. We always feel welcome and always enjoy our food and drinks. When a place makes you smile it’s a goodun.

Another warm welcome, usual smiling staff, cool music and gorgeous burger! Kids demolished their pancakes and were entertained by the games machine so I could enjoy my Americano. It's like getting a hug from a friend when I come here! Love it!

Awful breakfast today. Had the breakfast wrap. Normally terrific. Today egg barely fried and runny with that snotty stuff. Sausage also not in usual form. My partner has a bacon sandwich. Half normal size bun and bacon almost rare. What has gone wrong? Coffee still great but we went for the food. Worrying.

We needed to”Chill!” Popped into this cafe one lunchtime.Venue was nearly full,a good sign -but we found a seat.

Cullercoats Coffee really does have it all. It’s a bustling hub of the community. Excellent coffee, the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten and such a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The place itself is cosy with a real fire, eclectic furniture and laid back style. It’s always full of happy, chatting people and I go there so often it feels like an extension of home. I’m so lucky to have exactly what I want in a coffee shop around the corner. If you go you won’t be disappointed.

Went here for coffee on Wednesday, never been to this coffee shop before and we do like to try different ones. Staff pleasant, ambiance nothing special, it was more like a place that students would meet. Music too loud so couldn’t have a conversation, mind you the hot chocolate and coffees were really lovely. Would we go again, NO too noisy.

Lovely coffee and home made traybakes available! They do Oat Milk too for any allergy sufferers like myself! Warm and cosy layout inside too! Could sit in there for hours!

Quite a quirky place with large tables and odd chairs. It can get busy and might be a struggle to get a table. Lots of bookcases with books galore so you are definitely not put under pressure to leave quickly. Pleasant staff who are willing to adapt dishes. Teapots arrive with strainers something you don't come across very often. The food is nicely prepared and delicious. Prices are reasonable too.

Tucked away just off the main street, this is the best cafe in Cullercoats. Lovely coffee, delicious freshly made scones, friendly staff and a super atmosphere.

Can't beat this place for coffee and service. Staff always friendly. Can get very busy at times. Food especially the breakfast items and cake are fab. Pop in if you are down this way,you wont be disappointed.

We went here on recommendation looking for cake. The seating area is very laid back with a quirky design, light and airy and with book case filled with all kinds of books. Very relaxing cosy place filled with people with friends, people working alone and parents with small children but there was plenty of seating.

I absolutely love this cafe, the table numbers are flags, so much different to other cafes. I would 100% come back. There is table service which is quick, as well as the staff being quick with the orders.

After many people telling me how lovely this was we finally made it there today. What a fantastic place. The coffee is great as is the atmosphere and decor inside. There’s a lot of competition nearby but this place was pretty busy which shows what others think. Wholly recommend if you’re in the area :)

We chose this place based on it's great reviews and the cover picture showed a full English breakfast. Was told on arrival that they only do a breakfast wrap (I can't see why the couldn't just put the same filling on a plate?!) So we got sausage butties and coffees. The coffees are awesome, went for seconds but the younger staff looked so miserable. Shame, the place is quirky and seems popular with the locals (one of who took up a large table for 6 by herself so we had to take 2 separate tables and she only moved later when her friend came in before either of them ordered anything!)

Fab coffee in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Good for take-away coffees and reductions if you take your own take-away "cup". Good home made cakes to accompany any coffee etc. Good range of meals as well and light bites. Wifi available.

Only popped in as we were turned away by the one next to it. (4 o’clock on a bank holiday Monday!!) What a gem! Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, quirky and relatively cheap. Will definitely go back.

The best coffee around! Lovely staff and great atmosphere, just off the beach front. Order at the bar and they will bring your drink to you if sitting in, or able to get take away if you want. They now offer a discount for having your own take away cup, or (as I have) you can purchase one of their awesome yellow cullercoats coffee reusable cups, which helps support reduction in plastic!

This is such a lovely cafe- staff always very friendly & welcoming. Quirky interior. Basic menu choices - don’t offer a huge variety of meals but coffee delicious.Very popular

I found this place was everything you need in a coffee shop- friendly staff who put their all into making awesome coffee, it was relaxed with no pressure to leave quickly and it had great atmosphere.. couldn’t recommend more!

Called in this morning at 9-15 . My wife had a vegetarian sausage sandwich which turned up raw. I took it back and was told it would be replaced . The cafe was not busy and after 15 minutes of waiting we told the waiter not too bother and walked out . No apologies or offer of the cost of the sandwich back . Will certainly not be hurrying back .

I visited during the week, the basic name does not reflect the inside of the shop. Surprisingly quirky and different, service was fine. Cappuccino was one of nicest around, food was nice but quite expensive for what I got. Overall, decent experience.

I first came here when visiting my sister & this was a new business. Really pleased to return & find that they have extended & are clearly thriving. Beautiful cakes, lovely staff & not over priced. I would highly recommend.

Busy place, pull up a pew. Some folding seats, bar stools and various seating. Order at bar and await your food & drinks. Not the quickest service but take your time, enjoy the atmosphere. Some interesting colours ‘yellow’ is prominent through. Rather cheery I thought.

Went for breakfast with friends on Easter Sunday and our server Isaac was brilliant! Food was great and a lovely place definitely will return
