CUBE cafe bar at Deda in Derby

I called in to collect a family member from a regular activity ran by one of the fantastic groups operating from the Derby Dance Centre. Ahead of my schedule, hungry, I took the opportunity to branch away from the homemade cake faire and coffee and order from the simple but extensive memory. I haven't eaten a fish finger sandwich for decades, but the thought of acid tartare sauce, vinegared chips swayed the choice in this direction. Without a real clue about what was to be presented from the chalkboard, I ordered at the counter, quickly served and was served at the clean table! A delicious bloomer sandwich, buttered tatare, crispy salad filling to flavour wrap the 3 fat fish fingers, rocket salad garnish and skin on fries. It was delicious, filling and great value for money at £6.50 having been made to order. A large flat white at £3 complimented the lunch. Lovely staff keep this venue bubbling along with intelligent conversation and a personal responsibility invested in the Dedá dynamic.

We shared the peanut butter protein punch smoothie bowl and the tik tok flat wrap veggie breakfast with an Americano and an orange juice. The food was delicious, the staff were pleasant and friendly and the cafe was bright and colourful with lots of artwork on the walls.

My friend and I come here for lunch after our class. We enjoy the homemade soup and sourdough toast. The coffee is very good. The staff are very welcoming. The setting is excellent. A large, well lit room.

I have just ate some rocky road from the Deda Cafe Bar, which is made in house. It is the best Rocky Road I have ever eaten, and there are many to compare it to believe me! Thanks Deda Cafe I'll be back for more.

Bright, airey and colourful seating/dining area, service was quick and efficient but coffee was not strong enough for me.

dropped in for a quick coffee. Prompt service. Was made to feel at home, food looked good enough to eat! Stayed for a quick bite. Lovely.

We were the only people, maybe that was a sign! Ordered a Tuna Melt, Goats Cheese Melt and coffee, the food took so long the coffee had well gone and had to rush to eat to get back to work within the hour. No one else in the restaurant heaven know how long it takes to get served when there’s several groups in. The food was OK but nothing special so the wait, price an service did not add up to a great experience

My child goes to dance class every weekend so we wait in the cafe for him. My first experience they forgot to bring my order but it was extremely busy so I had no major complaints. However, my second time (today) with it being the royal wedding, the whole place was nowhere near as busy with many empty tables. I sat waiting for my order with both waitresses continuing to do other things. When I finally approached them one had forgotten the order completely and asked the other one to go back onto the till to check what we’d ordered. Once we’d finally got it we were told that they’d given our order to the wrong person! They seemed completely uninterested and not bothered that we hadn’t been seen to.It wouldn’t have been as bad but we were sat in front of the till.I’ll be bringing my own things in future and would recommend others to do the same.

Enjoyed a sandwich, tray bake and coffee before the launch of an exhibition. The place is open plan, light filled and very modern. The food was delicious. There is a car park just across the road. Dance studios and exhibition space means there is often something of interest on.

Bien si eres un hippy/vegetariana, supongo, pero es estúpidamente caro. Como ejemplo, nunca pagaría £4. 50 para un cob huevo frito.Me da la impresión de que personas como para ser visto con el lugar y sentarse para edades de 2 Libras con un té de frutas.

Alquilamos el cubo para una familia de alrededor de 50 personas en una noche de sábado. El bar nos proporcionó bebidas y fue capaz de satisfacer todas nuestras peticiones. El personal era excelente e incluso nos ayudaron a organizar nuestras decoraciones y globos. Disfruté viendo la exposición de pinturas realizadas por Andrew Macara en más de una planta. Nacido en Derbyshire a menudo ha mostrado sus trabajos en la Real Academia de verano exposiciones. Nos fuimos a última hora de la tarde, el personal ayudando con la aclaracion, y nos quedamos muy satisfechos con el servicio y las instalaciones ofrecidas.

Love the new menu with its guide to healthy options especially the Bircher muesli. It's a new chef apparently.

Visité aquí con mis padres para el almuerzo. Es un pequeño y agradable café, muy original, con un montón de obras. La comida estaba deliciosa! Tuve la sopa del día y estaba tan bueno. Mi madre tenía la misma pero mi padre tenía una junta tipo antipasti con hummus y crudités que creía que era increíble. Visitaré aquí una y otra vez.

He tenido un encantador almuerzo ligero aquí esperando a mi hija pequeña, mientras que ella es en su clase de danza a DEDA. Sabroso y fresco. Venden gran dulces como flapjacks y brownies. Si quieres un lugar tranquilo, sin interrupciones, este no es el lugar para ti, ya que es bastante ruidoso, pero es perfecto si estás acostumbrado a los bulliciosos niños pequeños

Tienes que probar este café. Hoy tuve de ajo y sopa parsnip/romero con un trozo de bloomer, era un pan sopa de calentamiento muy sabroso. Entonces sólo tenía que tener una porción de la recién cocinados brownie de chocolate - WOW que era para morirse. Dar una oportunidad a este sitio, usted no será decepcionado.

Visitaremos el café la mayoría de las semanas y siempre son muy impresionados con la comida y el servicio. Kristina que normalmente sirve nosotros siempre amable, eficiente y asegura que están bien cuidados, ella es genial con los niños también. La cafetería es el lugar ideal para familias con niños pequeños que ofrece un área de juegos y una buena selección de comidas para niños.

Excellent choice for that informal reception with an easy come, easy go style and with very friendly staff. Clean and easy on the eye decor, light and airy. Reasonable prices and good quality food during the day and served by excellent staff.

Café cube en Deda era parte integrante de mi maternidad! Tiene un ambiente luminoso y hay mucho espacio, así que no te sientes encajonados en una esquina con carritos y bolsas de cambio. Y lo más importante, es encantador y limpio. La comida es fabulosa....

I am particular about my morning cuppa and I was so pleased when CUBE opened for breakfasts as I love the coffee! I only eat in but take away is possible too. Though I can't eat yoghurt I was longing to try the homemade granola dish which I am told is delicious. There is something on the menu for dietary restrictions too such as the smashed avocado on toasted bagels and gluten free and vegan free options. For healthier appetites there are full English breakfasts and not so full English breakfasts in both full meat and veggie options. Worth a visit!

I visited The Cube for somewhere a bit different from most of the other eateries in Derby City Centre. I'm not sure what I was expecting but what i found is a true gem. Lovely bright cafe, in a building that had a walk through Art Gallery. The safe were really attentive and catered for everything we wanted, the food was absolutely great, freshly made with it has to be said quality produce. Most of all the cost was reasonable for good food. Thank you very much. We'll definitely come again.

Looking for somewhere to eat in Derby slightly out of the centre was difficult. However we found this nice cafe by accident. Small menu but reasonable choice. Unfortunately there were a lot of items unavailable when we ordered. Food took a long time to arrive, but was nice when it did. The atmosphere in the cafe was nice.

Wow, what a fantastic venue. The staff are fantastic, the building its self is beautiful, nothing was too much to ask and most importantly everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I would recommend anyone looking to hire somewhere for a function to pay this place a visit, you will not be disappointed, we have had so much great feed back from friends and family. Thanks Guys!!

I visted this cafe this week and although it's a little off the beaten track it was well worth the visit. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Took my six year old for lunch and this was ideal. £5 for a sandwich, squash and ice cream for her and £7 for a pretty decent smoked salmon salad for me. Nice set up, nice space - highly reccommended.....

Spacious and welcoming with tasty snack, lunches and meals. Great soya cappuccinoscappuccinos! Love that architecture and the floods of natural light. The cafe has exhibition space which on my visit today was full of wonderful artworks from recent summer schools .

What a great building, welcoming and friendly greeting when entering the Cube and what decor, very colourful and bright. Good menu choice and if you go for a sandwich, beware, you get the biggest "doorstop" sandwich which is very filling.

Really friendly staff always smiling and polite. Great fresh food (try the burgers)a really nice chilled place to wind down after work with a beer or two!!!
