Crows Nest Hotel in North East Lincolnshire

Nicely decorated pub and of course excellent beer! 🍺

While doing my rounds of visiting the Samuel Smiths Pub establishments I ended up visiting this nice looking Pub on the 22nd of January 2024 which also functions as a hotel surprisingly! Unfortunately what I found was that upon entry while the bartender was friendly enough despite the lack of conversation despite this being one of the USP's of the Samuel Smith Pubs, I found that for half of the time I was actually the only person in one half of the establishment and that was actually sad which combined with the fact I was not allowed to use any tech in the establishment was a bit of a downer. Still.. If you are looking for somewhere that offers a refreshing and good pint at a reasonable/cheap price in 2024 and to enjoy it in peace then this is your perfect venue! Just be prepared that while the venue is technically in Cleethorpes it is just outside of it so getting a bus or taxi is recommended.

Very enjoyable visit. Cask bitter excellent condition. Quality place, just a great place to relax. Friendly bar staff. A must visit when in Cleethorpes. Heritage pub. Accommodation available. Highly Recommended

It was my local 50 yrs ago ….. first visit since . TBH it was unexciting. Beer price good,friendly barmaid…. only about 8 people there ( 1.30pm Sunday)

One my first evening outings since the COVID pandemic. Took part in the Lions pub quiz which doesn't start until 9.30pm It was well organised and a great variety of general knowledge questions. I've not rated the food as I didn't have anything to eat. The service was friendly but with no gluten free beers I opted for Cider. Very dated decor but I guess that is why some would love the place, it is clean and original! Please Mr Samuel Smith could you brew some gluten free ale as it used to be my favourite.

Cheepest pint in town I reckon but not allowed to use technology in the bar! This includes mobile phones.

Awful experience wont return in a hurry Although its spotlessly clean its very outdated As we entered there were 3 elderly people sat having drinks no music no conversation just braindead Hubby ordered the drinks and i went into the side room to sit down as i did i took my phone out to check the time the Barmaid appeared from nowhere to tell me i couldnt use my phone in there as it was a not allowed no technology phones laptops tablets etc they were all banned Thats all well and good but no music no phone and no conversations going onit was bloody awful atmousphere

Cheap Sammy Smiths pub and mobile phone free zone!! Pity more pubs dont follow their brave stance. It is an adults only pub which for me makes it 5star! They now accept card payments

Quiet alehouse in residential area

Review is for the pub. Excellent atmosphere & great beers but be aware that this is a cash-only establishment. I also like that there is strictly no mobile phones or other electric devices allowed

Sam smiths so no phones Music Quite busy with a good variety of sam Smiths ales. For a Sam Smiths good range soft drinks very comfortable and bright

It’s immaculate and welcoming, overall I really enjoyed a few drinks here. It’s inexpensive too I’ll be revisiting soon.

Pleasurably unique pub...and don't you dare be modern! I love that there isn't any "brand" beers on tap, simply Sam Smith's own. Friendly staff in this art deco style pub. But no mobile phones allowed, how shall I send this review?

Quiet comfy pub. Friendly staff. nicely priced drinks. No mobiles give it a nice feel for conversation without competing with social media. Cash only.

Uptight ....rules rules rules .... just take your money sit there be quiet Its only saving Grace WAS it used to be cheap ....but 30% increase on each pint now ! Gets its 3rd star because it's a nice pint.

Large spacious public house which is very tastfuly decorated which stands in large grounds with a big beer garden. The beer on offer is from Samual Smith's which has an excellent range of their beers.

Cheap beer but not a massive fan of the brewery. And nice to chat but also feels like a morgue lol

Wonderful pub, spotlessly clean, very inexpensive beer properly looked after.i didn't know pubs like this still existed.

Really nice Sam Smith's pub. It's not close to the centre of Cleethorpes, and is in the middle of a residential area - luxky residents. As long as you like Sam's beer that is. There is a decent sized car park and beer garden. The pub has recently been refurbished and looks really nice. There are a few rooms, including a private pool room - has its own front door. I like Sam's beer, and have travelled to lots of their pubs around the country - this is certainly a nice one. Worth a visit if you happen to be in the area. And you can't knock the prices! You can knock the fact you can't use your mobile, even to check the time. Bit of a crazy pub policy for me. But hey ho.

The staff and management are lovely, very friendly, However the moronic stance taken by Sam Smith's to ban mobile phones is ridiculous, I needed to check a works message but you're not even allowed to have your phone out in your hand, The staff are put in an awkward position and I don't feel like its my local now so found another where briefly checking my phone doesn't result in being told off like a school child, just another crazy idea brought to you by Humphrey Smith

Reasonable prices and friendly service

Good old fashioned pub, no music and no telly. Just good old banter with locals and strangers and first class beer to keep the vocal chords lubricated. Leave your electronic gizmos in the car or at home as even these are banned from use in the pub now.

Almost tucked out of the way this gem of a pub is well worth a visit, a beautiful no expense spared refurbishment makes this the best drinking place by far in the area. This all comes with drink prices to match Wetherspoons, what more do you want oh yes food sadly The Crows doesn't do food still great for a beer with mates though.

I have been a regular at this place for many years and on Saturday 6th April went there with my partner to meet friends, my partner and her friend do not get to see each other very often and do like a good chat , Fine, but they always have had an interest in plants and nature and often show each other pictures on their phones , no fuss, no noise, just chatting and to be told by the barmaid [ who was only doing only her job ] to put their phone away or they would be asked to leave, was quite frankly , Appalling.I am in agreement that phones can be a nuisance but as far as we are all concerned , to tell a 60 year old perfectly nice quiet woman and her friend who is in her 50,s to put a phone away and actually make them feel so childish and embarrassed was enough for us, We will not be going in there ever again.

Landlady going mad at one of the customers for using a mobile - very unprofessional instead speaking in a normal voice was screaming at the top of her voice - not very nice for the other clientele in the public bar

A traditional public house tucked away on a housing estate. Reasonable priced drinks. Has a games room a function room and snug.

Held a quiz night here, very comfy, cheap drinks and staff were accomodating, very pleasant and enjoyable

Haven't been here for many years. Looks like it has had a refurbishment. Was quite impressed. Great pint of Samuel Smith's Old Brewery Bitter. Will definitely go again.

Sam Smith's pub, so, well kept beer, civilised clientele, no music or TV to distract, no horrible food smells and very good value for money. The pure brewed organic lager is the best in the world. I love this pub
