Had a lovely lunch experience. Food was great and excellent value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be going back

First time to visit since ease of lockdown, booked a table for 4 and table was ready when we arrived, as we were all of a certain age we went for the senior £4.99 menus which although very limited in its choice was good value for 2 courses.Overall good table service and food was good although drinks seemed very expensive. The pub itself looked a little tired and on a visit to the toilets did leave a lot to be desired. The pub is part of the Sizzler chain of pub restaurants, and staff were attentive and helpful, and overall a good afternoon lunch. Will visit again.

Never ever again will I set foot in this pub again we arrived at 12 30 pm for lunch which we chose from the menu weeks before we waited one hour and ten minutes then we had to call the manager and what an attitude she had she said she was sorry but still we waited no starters turned up so she said they would be out in five minutes it didn’t happen so we said forget it lovely and we got u and walked out disgusting service and attitude will never go back there again.

Looking at Trip Advisor The Crows Nest Pub in Llanyravon has really good feedback.After moving to Cwmbran in 1964 spent many hours in The Crows Nest, over the years it has been Ok,but today it has moved on, part of the Community, respected & a safe place to visit, Staff really helplful& the manager a people person. In these worrying times a safe place to go, but also somewhere to eat out & take the family at reasonable cost.

Had to be the worst pints I have ever had , arrived @11 am , got a pint @ 11.09 , absolutely disgusting, 2nd one come disgusting, 3rd come disgusting and a rude assistant manager , I said thanks Claire not a reply wow , 4th arrived absolutely disgusting, was approached the general manager asking me if I was out to watch the match ? Maybe not with this beer , explained the poor quality, his response we did have a issue last night with flat Coors !!!!!So Saturday we charge for poor service , attitude and a Gm who basically dismiss a customer you spends 5k a year in a business wow .However if your steak is over cooked or a burnt lasagna, you get a refund & free deserts , but if your beer is flat and disgusting you get I will have to call out cellar service , maybe call Friday night after flat beer ?I won't return until I get I full apology , I will also pass this up the chain to see if Mr M&B would expect 5k spending customers to be treated like this

Very poor quality food, sticky tables and smells of smoke inside! It's not that cheap, Whetherspoons is much better value. Veggie lasagne just a bowl of tomato sauce with one sheet of pasta! Waste of money. Such a shame.

Went to this pub today .. and had to go to the gents toilet.. I had to leave the toilet as it was making me want to thru up .. the stench was disgusting pools of what on the floor no ventilation .. fan broke .. not been cleaned since when .. I have health issues and with Covid I was worried .. this establishment is not covid secure ..

felt very satisfied with lay out for corona virus situation, plenty of hand sanitiser and signs re. social distancing which everyone followed, great care taken by staff when taking orders and bringing meals to table. food as usual was very good, fresh and hot, have booked a table later this month to take advantage of the 50% off offer. have been eating here for many years , only improvement would be getting the toilets decorated.

We often go to this pub for family gatherings, they are fantastic and often give us the conservatory to ourselves. They even allow you to bring your own birthday cakes and things. They offer meals and drinks at great value and there are tables outside for when it’s a nice day. On an evening it’s a really fun place to go out drinking as adults and they sometimes have live music.

A very popular place with all ages, Food is very reasonable and enough of it. It has plenty of room plus a conservatory. Staff are very friendly and they do cater for large groups.

I really enjoyed the meal here. I am vegan, so not easy to find good food. I had the vegan sausages, peas and baked potato with onion gravy. I could have done with a few more peas, slightly less onion chunks in the gravy and the potato was a bit overcooked but it was tasty. Dessert was the star of the show. A biscoff ice cream slice with fresh strawberrys. It’s worth going again just for this! It was gorgeous. Staff were lovely and service was prompt. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Had a fab lunch at The Blinking Owl in Cwmbran today.Excellent service and real value for money. Will be definitely going there again. 😆😆😆

It's sad to read such bad reviews on here about The Crows Nest because my friends and I visit every week to eat here and always love it.The staff are extremely friendly, the food is always fresh and piping hot as well as the service being second to none.

Bought my girlfriend here for valintines day.i had a mega mixed grill massive for the money steak was cooked too perfection and lovely choice of sauces my girlfriend had a burger which came with a free drink.staff friendly enough.

Came in on a Friday evening with my friends we ordered food which came really fast good choice of food and food was stunning.we stayed for the night they had karaoke was a really good night highly recommend if your looking for somewhere nice to hang out

We had a meal deal here recently two meals for £10 midweek. We had gammon egg and chips and fish and chips. Both meals were filling and tasty. Will return.

How this place is allowed to serve Lucy food is beyond me? I mean there were 5/6 pots around the floor catching water leaking from the roof for a start. Then you have the god damn awful waft of cigarette smoke coming in through the main doors from the Llanyravon alcoholics OutsudeThe whole demeanour of the place is wrong, It’s just smelly, it’s trying to be a restaurant in the week and a nightclub on the weekend and it just overlaps. You only have to go into the toilet on a Friday after 4 and there’s always people in there sniffing cocaine or a couple of slappers in the way taking photos of themselves in the mirror. The tables are always sticky, the glassware and cutlery are seldom clean (I’m sure they do the dishes in the Afon Lewydd) it’s just in need of A complete overhaul. Sadly, with the place in such disarray it’s completely understandable that the food has gone downhill as well. I know it’s only microwaveable crap anyway, but If the staff at least follow the instructions and send the food out HOT it would be a start ..but even the staff are caught up in this atmosphere of dooom, most of them are young kids that a paid the bare minimum of legal wages so they don’t have any incentive to make the customer happy. Later learnt that the manager is a waste of space as well and spends a bit to much time on the other side of the bar. Pity this didn’t close and not O’brians as that was a reaL gem. I won’t go back to the Crows nest and I think it’ll be another pub that goes under if it’s allowed to free fall as he is now

I've been drinking in the crows for years and years but rarely eat there. Recently though due to a new arrival in the family and change in circumstances we have had lunch their aswell a few times.In all honesty when you consider you can have a very decent burger with a beer for around £7-8 it's a good option.Yes there are places around doing better food, but as a family with a baby and myself wanting usually to watch football saturday lunchtime it fits nicely.I'd recommend the indian chicken burger, thats genuinely a very tasty bit of grub for not a lot of cash.Shame the price of a pint seems to rise by 10 or 20p every time I visit!

Booked table for 12 people, only Steak available was Rump it took 45min for them to serve all meals. Chips were wet and cold so was returned attitude of waitress was awful, Manager was not available. Toilets were disgusting, disable toilet was the same, strong smell of Damp where we were sitting. 6 different sized tables pushed together. Was going to see about booking a Wedding Party, that is not going to Happen now. Will never return to The Crows Nest , a Crows Nest would be Cleaner then its name sake.

Popped in last night for a pint with the missus. We occasionally pop in and it never fails to let us down. Every time we go its because its convenient for us and we hope it has improved. Quiz night last night. Outer and inner front doors were open so the place stank of stale cigarette smoke. Its been a warm summer so I am guessing they are open fully every day. Yuk. Discarded cigarette butts on the floor entrance by the bucket load. The place needs a deep clean I think - dirty walls paintwork etc. Whoever is running this pub needs to pull their socks up. Just because it gets really busy when the live music is on is no excuse for not keeping the place clean and tidy when its really quiet. Because when its quiet the public really can see how this place is being kept. However, a decent pint of Heineken and nice polite staff. Will see you again I guess in a month or two. Chances are it will be the same. Shame. Just noticed that I could add photos to this review. I will next time.

Boiling hot day today. Pops into the crowd 4 a drink and food with my sister and baby . Had cold corn refused to take it back so requested refund if not reheated the she gave me back the one cold reheated twice obvs been frozen to begin with. Then came outside to stop and talk to customers to tell them how rude customers have been all day complaining. to think it could anyone its so unprofessional

Very disappointed. I had the chicken pie. Was meant to be ham chucked and double chedder. No sauce in it at all and no cheese tasted in it. Pastry was dry and pie tasteless. Daughter asked for steak medium rare it came well done, was tough, chewy and poor quality

Called here as we were passing, food was good value for money, served very quickly and cooked nicely. Interior in need of decorating as walls have brown paint and shrubs are growning up against the large windows cutting down the natural light giving the place a gloomy appearance.

Visited to the public house last week ( if it is a public house ) has to be the dirtiest poorly run pub in South Wales , I live in Newport and that’s rough lol , however this pub would fit into Corporation road so well , service from hell , manager sitting using a lap top when the queue was 10 deep WOW , toilets like a rugby shower after a match , staff attitude totally sucks with resentment!!!

What a surprise on a Tuesday only 2 staff on again then a visit from 6 strong team of improvement assessors? 1 of the staff had to escort them !! So down to 1 member of staff running food from kitchen and serving on bar, waited 15 minutes to get served and the poor barman was run ragged,a number of potential customers saw cue and walked away

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch and really enjoyed our food. The service was also quick and friendly. The only letdown was the parking - not very much for such a busy pub! Definitely worth a visit.

Good value pub food. Nothing fancy but good food and lots of choice. The mega mixed grills were good value,should have the egg on it though. The chicken pie was really tasty and very big.

Once again busy Tuesday only 2 staff on waited 20 minutes for a pint even though they tried to cope at least 10 people walk away when they saw the size of que is this good management!!!

Visited the boating lake and called to the Crows Nest for lunch. It was certainly a light lunch but was definitely overcharged. Didn't get a receipt and from the customer side of the till the prices charged can't be seen. Had 2 lunches from the 2 for £10 the vegan cottage pie and the lasagne. A cheesy chicken jack at £7. 49. A glass of pepsi and 2 glasses of blackcurrant squash completed the order. The bill came to over £23 this is definitely an overpayment and had I been given a receipt I could have queried the cost. The meals were very small.

Breakfast is always great. Always hot, always fast, and just the right amount. Quality meat, free refills on tea and coffee and it’s all great value! 👍

It's been a few years since I was last here but the Crow's Nest is still serving good food. Service was prompt, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We all enjoyed our meals.

I ordered lasagne, when it arrived the sides were black and the inside tepid. I returned it and about ten minutes later another one was served. The inside was cold and the mincemeat was wet as if had been defrosted and not cooked. I returned it. When the waitress brought my refund over to the table she announced loudly that the temperature probe had been used and the lasagne was cooked thoroughly. Both my husband and my friend tried the lasagne and were able to confirm that this meal was uncooked. I am not happy with the way this was dealt with. This partly defrosted meal was a health hazard and the customer services left a lot to be desired.

Went on Sunday for breakfast. 6 adults and 3 children. The breakfast skillet was lovely and plentiful. Prices were great. Will definitely be going for brekkie again. Would highly recommend. Staff great too. Thank you.

Noticed that bar staff are becoming more and more surly this year.They really don't want to be here?

Came in with my family for my mothers 95th birthday meals.staff were really friendly polite and helpful. All our meals came out together and they were all good sizes I don't think there was anything left on our plates everyone loved it. The staff helped us put a table together when we arrived and got us some activitie sheets and crayons for the children. Will definitely be back again to soon. Keep up the great work

Well thought I'd treat family to a nice meal but I had chicken bbq sauce on top of a plate of onions.

Cheap and cheerful food but cant say the same for the miserable RUDE staff. This is the second time I have been here for breakfast in the last month as I live locally and used to really rate this place. Both times served cold breakfast after being BARKED at rudely not to sit at a certain table by a waitress who clearly hates her job. Second time a waitresses made sarcastic comment under her breath whilst clearing up whilst another needed a lesson in politeness and service. Not impressed, noisy and unwelcoming.

Visited there 3 times in the last few weeks . The food on all occasions was lovely . The biggest criticism of the place is the awful state of the toilets. One was closed as out of order one had a toilet seat that was hanging off and the third one had no paper. Was told men's were just as bad Would not feel able to take my family there for a meal due to state of toilets.

The crows nest has gone down hill dramatically since I last visited, this used to be a lovely little place to grab a quick bite. We went for my nephews 8th birthday on this occassion and was thoroughly disappointed.

I have used this pub for food many times and it has always been reasonable.

Sunday lunchtime and the place was reasonably busy. A chain type menu with the usual dishes on it. I chose the fish, chips and peas. It suddenly appeared and was put down on my table. The waiter mumbled about cutlery being across the room and then he went. I went and got the cutlery, which I don't mind but felt they could have said when I ordered.

A few weeks ago I went for a meal at the Crows Nest in Cwmbran with my Sister and Brother in law and my Nephew and his wife. I had Scampi and Chips. Which I quite enjoyed. My Sister and Brother in Law had a cooked meal and so did my Nephew and his wife. We quite enjoyed the meal. It was quite reasonable prices and we had a drink with our meals. It was a nice restaurant with very pleasant surroundings. The Staff were friendly and very helpful. I've been here before for a meal many years ago. But, it was a nice restaurant then and it's still quite a name place for a meal. I would recommend this place to anyone who is thinking of going for a meal.

Pensioners can get 2 courses for under £5 enough when your appetite has shrunk. The food is exceptionally good for 'Pub food! The menu is huge for everyone else and cooked to a very good standard.

Having walked through a fog of cigarette smoke to enter, was faced with a pretty full restaurant which we thought indicated a good place to pop in for lunch.

Has to be the worst run managed pub in the UK , service standards are absolutely awful , staff , management if you can call them that dress like they are on a casual day out with friends, phones hanging out of jeans pockets , what happened to dress code in a chain pub???

I enjoy pub culture but i don't drink alcohol because i can't, so on a night out with colleagues I wanted a pint of blackcurrant and soda water because it attracts less attention from those who keep insisting that I have a "proper pint" but the staff point blank refused to serve me with a pint of blackcurrant and soda. Based on the attitude of the management towards non drinkers i will never return to this place. THE CROWS NEST CWMBRAN.

Ordered a Mixed grill, portion was quite small although the meat was tender however it was served on a bed of onions, not just a few onions absolutely loads, about a cm across the plate meaning everything was tainted with onions. The food is served on a hot skillet so no doubt the onions are ther to stop the food burning but the result is the onions burn and you get the smell and taste of burnt onions. Friends had other dishes and it was the same there. Could not recommend this place for food, the ambience is nice as are the staff otherwise it would have been a 1.

We've been here several times and unfortunately our latest visit was not great. My mother and I chose the gammon, egg and chips and the gammon was the fattiest we've ever had. It was also quite pink and watery. We didn't like it at all. The chips were hard and under cooked. When the waitress came to collect our plates I told her it wasn't good and not up to their usual standards and she just answered 'oh dear' took our plates and left! We won't come back for a while ....

Needs a huge referb & the food has gone downhill BIG time! Good place for a sesh though.. Up the County

A great venue with jars of Great atmosphere at all times. Great pub grub and attentive staff. This would be a great venue for a local charity night. I certainly will be returning. Only let down is the poor Wi-Fi but when with friends who needs Wi-Fi. Every town should have a venue like this oh and a happy hour would be nice.

Very popular locally, lots of people walking in from local housing areas. Busy inside with a vibrant atmosphere. Typical pub/eatery food, cooked nicely and very plentiful at reasonable prices. Would certainly try it again.

Member of staff made a mistake with my meal which ended up being 10 minutes after friends had theirs. Bad service. Bad food. Bad experience.

Food was shocking. Curly fries luke warm. Partners steak dry and chewy and the mushrooms were burnt to a crisp in fact the entire mixed grill was poor value for money with its tiny pieces of meat. Will not be back to eat there again

We stopped off with friends for a quick lunch, it is bar service for drinks and meals and you have to pick up your cutlery and condiments from a central island, they are not brought with the meals.

Always get a good meal at the Crows Nest and the deals for children are brilliant. It is cheaper to eat there than cook evening meal... The manager and staff are excellent My grandchildren love the pool table. Would recommend every time

Called in with friends on off chance mid afternoon. Plenty of indoor seating as outside all taken. Was nice and cool.

We have dined here a few times in the last few months and I must say the place seems to be getting worse with each visit, unfortunately.

We had booked the conservatory for my partners 50th birthday meal with our family and friends there was 12 of us altogether.

Lovely meals in relaxed atmosphere even with CL football on screens.Service was excellent as first time customer can't wait to return.

Came here for my mother's birthday meal there was 20 of us.food was amazing really good value for money and a really nice selection.we were even able to come down early to decorate our table.staff even bought birthday cake out for us they were really friendly and polite.will be coming again deafintly would highly recommend

I was overcharged, I complained and had a refund with no apology from rude unprofessional staff. The manager stated it is not company policy (what does head office think about this ?) but to "SAVE PAPER" if you pay at the till you will only be given a bill "IF YOU ASK FOR IT" SERIOUSLY?. I was given a refund but no apology. I am referring this to their head office and local trading standards. They should always provide a bill with no exceptions, this would have prevented this problem and at the time of writing this practice continues at this place,

I visit here quite regularly for lunch or dinner with friends / family . Food is excellent value for money and really tasty , never had a bad meal here , it is always consistent . Also visit once a month on a Saturday when they have a live band which is good fun . Staff always friendly and never any trouble here considering the crowds that come in from the local area , this seems to be down to good management .

Another place that suddenly doesn't understand the "no tomatoes" request, but at least they were inside a leaf of lettuce, and not touching anything else, so easily removed.

Family meal midweek and so disappointed. Some elements of several dishes unavailable ( prawns, onion rings) asked to swap for a salad or something but wouldn’t swap or reduce bill at all. Things do run out but no offers of alternatives. Not a can do place. Had an ok meal there over a yr ago but afraid to say much declined. Inattentive service, two tough steaks. . . Poor service, poor food. Should have walked when the ordering was not going well

we come down for food quite regularly and weve always had a good experience. occassionaly there is a wait on food but weve always been informed of this when we order and most times our food is out way before. the service from the staff is always amazing, they are friendly and welcoming and will always come and have a chat. nothing is ever to much trouble for them and if you ever have any problems there are always happy to help. if your looking for somewhere with good cheap food and amazing service this is the place to go.

Family visit - nice pub, helpful staff. Good variety of drinks. Good selection of food to choose from however slightly annoyed that they were out of stock with lots of items - think I got my 4th choice!

Have visited the Crows Nest a handful of times over the last year both in the day and evening and always have a positive experience. Food is good as always, I’m not sure what some people expect - the prices are more than affordable. Pub is clean and tidy and the team they have working there is top notch - the manager Richard is particularly attentive and staff always ask if everything is ok. If there is a problem I’m sure they will deal with it with the polite and friendly manner that I’ve experienced.

First time at this place and it was nice. Gammon was cooked ok. Average portion sizes. Nothing really stood out as special so I rate this a 3 not really a place I would rush back to but I wouldn’t say no if I was in that area.

after reading some of the bad reviews on here i had to leave a review as i found the service and food absolutely amazing. we came down for a family meal as it was our nephews birthday there was 14 of us all together and the staff accommodated for us straight away. they offered us the conservatory room as we could have the room to ourselves and there was a chalk board down there for the children to play with. the young girl working told us she would put the heating on for us as well as sometimes the room does get cold. we were served quickly at the bar and the waitress offered to bring our drinks down to us. all our meals arrived together with the children's coming out first so no one had to eat on there own. the 2 girls working were great with the children as well and asked them what they had for xmas. they were really engaging. soon as the plates were cleared the girls bought out the children's meals as we had the children's meal deal and the kids absolutely loved them. we had left a cake behind the bar with one of the other staff and the girls bought it down to us when we were ready and gave us plates and napkins. the service we received was absolutely phenomenal the 2 girls went the extra mile to make our experience special . also compliments to the chefs working as all our meals were wonderful with no complaints. we will definitely be returning in the future and hoe the rest of the staff are just as good as these 2 , i believe there names with kim and jodie and i hope they see this as they are an asset to the pub

We came down for an early evening meal as we were in the area visiting friends. We were greated by staff upon entering who offered to help us find a table as there were 6 of us. They informed us straightaway that there was a wait on food as by the looks of it they had a big party in. One of the girls offered to get us a High chair for the baby which was lovely as we didn't even have to ask. We ordered our food and drinks and were served incredibly quickly we wernt waiting long at the bar at all. And once again the girls were incredibly helpful and helped carry the drinks over. When our food arrived, we only waited 25mins so was out way before we expected. All the meals were not and the skillets were definitely sizzling. For the price you pay you can't go wrong. The girls even checked everything was fine with our meals half way through. The pub had picked up slightly in this time but the girls still found the time to make sure everyone was okaii and you could tell they were working hard. We even ordered desert and because there was still a wait on the girls said they would make them there selves. The deserts were absolutely amazing the baby loved her ice cream bee and my black forest sundae was to die for. Before we left the girls asked if we would fill in an online survey for them which after the service we received wasn't a problem. The card had the names Jodie and kim on so I believe that was who served us. We thought we would do a trip advisor aswell so people can see how great they are doing as will definitely be returning. The pub was quite busy but there was a shortage of tables due to two sections being shut off for reserved seating. When we left these we're still not being used.

I ordered the vegan cottage pie from the new menu and had to double check that it was vegetarian as it tasted so good.

We haven't had a good experience with this place. If you just want a drink and a few hours out then it's perfect. However if you want a nice (well decent would be ok) meal then that's a bit more hit and miss (more misses than hits though unfortunately).

We have ordered burgers and drinks part of the special offer £7.49 for a burger and £1.00 for alcoholic drinks. The bartender wasn't aware of this offer and upgraded us for large size wine then charged £4.80 instead of £1.00 plus 3.80 for a beer instead of £1.00! When I complained I was offered 2.00 refund!! Not happy with the service and how the manager dealt with my complain:(

The pub was fairly quiet and we ordered quite simple food from the menu we had to wait 30 minutes for the food to arrive.

I went there for 1.30pm on a tuesday afternoon iwas hardly any one in there we had to wait nearly hour for burger and chips twice wont go there again descusting.

Been looking forward to trying it out and arrived early evening. Smoking regulars at the front door didn't add to a welcoming atmosphere and straight away you guess the establishment struggles with its identity. Eatery or locals pub. Large space on entering wasted and we eventually found a place in conservatory. The place was busy and lacked a restaurant feel. The lady on the next table had her salmon still partly frozen. That was enough for us to leave. Some reviews have mentioned good food and a friendly service so we may have caught them on a bad night, but we left disappointed.

Our group of seven ladies had a very pleasant evening again at the Crows Nest. Although it was busy there was a good atmosphere and was not at all noisy. The manager was pleasant and the girl who served us was helpful even changing a chair for us. The meal was served sizzling just as we like it, our drinks were a good price and they also brought us water in a jug with ice cubes and lemon. Just a suggestion one of our party was gluten free and it was difficult to find much on the menu, also the Crows could do with some new dining chairs. We will be back.

We came into the crows nest tuesday for food as we have done many times before. We sat in the conservatory with our children. When we arrived we were served at the bar by the girl with glasses who was very useful in helping us decide on the best place to sit as the pub was busy and we had several children with us. She showed us the conservatory and put on the tv so my husband as able to watch the sporting channel. The other lady in the jumper was extremely lovely when bringing us our starters and food and was very quick to clear up and check on our food. The food was the best we have had in a long time and was out very quickly even though we were informed of a 45 minute wait.The golden years menu is a brilliant idea and having the 2 courses deal that the girl pointed out when paying was very nice! The girl with glasses was very helpful when my youngest child was restless by bringing some chalk for the board and when my girl came with me to order some desserts she engaged in conversation with her and made her feel part of this experience. I would just like to thank the girls properly as we did leave before I had a chance to say in person. They gave me a small card for feedback however have misplaced it so I am hoping that this will still be forwarded to them both. Will definitely be returning soon.

Food was amazing chips was the only thing that tasted frozen on the plate even the mac and cheese tasted fresh/ home made.But serious coat of paint and new leather on seating needed looks a bit run down. The toilets are a let down not very clean and sort of dark in there (spotlights can only do so much). Would definitely go again but needs improvement.Went again a day to two later with the rest of my family and I had a lasagne with a side order of chips and asked for no dressing on the salad but they put dressing on my salad and only when the food came did we realise the women didn't add the chips on for me. (Note- I was highly dissatisfied with this... they offered to cook me some then but I said no which is my choice nothing to do with them... but it's worth noting I was having a bad day on this occasion i visited but still does not excuse the service failure of the bar/till staff)

On 2/9/17 about 40 family and friends gathered in what was 'The Offy' in the olden days for my youngest grandson's 18th birthday.. The hot and cold buffet was excellent and everything about the evening was exactly as we would have wanted . How nice to have wraps instead of sandwiches - very tasteful.The staff were very attentive and I would certainly recommend The Crows Nest for a family 'do' . Well done everyone

We recently visited this place on a Sunday where we ordered the steaks (skillet dishes) and upgraded to an alcoholic drink for £1 as show in Pic 1 which is on the main menu. Whilst paying for our meal it became apparent that we were being charged full price for our drinks. The girl behind the bar asked another member of staff why this was and she told her to enter it into a specific section on the till. The girl explained that this is what she had done at which point the other girl tried also. Having failed to get it to come out at the correct price she left to collect a menu from the table. I did the same. I returned 1st and showed the girl who was serving me originally the terms shown on the "MAIN MENU" at the bottom of the burger page (Pic 1). I also explained that we had the same problem the previous week where the barman at the time got it sorted. At this point the other girl returned with a small card which she apparently got off the table showing that the skillet deal was only available on Monday to Friday after 5 or 5.30 pm can't remember exact time. However I pointed out that this should be clearly shown on the main menu or at least the card stapled to the front. I also explained that we had got this deal the week before and that we had only read the main menu which clearly states that we could upgrade for £1 and doesn't stipulate dates or times. I explained that to me it reads drink options available for the "Lunch", "Skillet" AND "burger deals" (no conditions mentioned on MAIN MENU) and we were ordering skillet meals. We eventually had the meals for the deal price but were told that we won't be able to have this again. Not a problem for us as we will go to Whetherspoons. We only go here if we are closer to that area as we thought their prices were similar to Whetherspoons with the deal. If the deal doesn't apply then Whetherspoons is cheaper, and at least there we are guaranteed decent food nearly all of the time, plus our drink comes with the meal without any debate Food here in the past has been hit and miss leading to us not going for about 4-5 months. We had a steak there and they took 3 attempts to get mine right by which time my wife had ate hers so I told them I no longer wanted it. The manager was really good and refunded us our whole cost of our meals even though we were happy to pay for my wife's'. As we still had the disposable money, and the manager was so good about our experience, we returned 2-3 days later to give it another chance. My partners chicken breast was translucent and rubbery and my steak had more inedible parts than edible ones. This is why we stopped going there. However we have tried it again recently and it's been ok and on occasion nice but this latest fiasco has put us off going again now. We have both examined their menu, and although if you have actually seen the card they got off one of the tables it can be interpreted in the way they have informed us, it can also been interpreted in the way we did. Bit misleading really, I think they need to reprint this to make it undoubtedly clear on the actual "MAIN MENU" what the conditions of the deal are. I have attached photo's in case anyone would care to peruse their deal section. Just be careful if you visit on the wrong day or at the wrong time as even though it's not stated clearly on this main menu the deals may not apply. If you want value for money, good food 90% of the time, to know clearly what you can get regarding the meal deals you order, and not have to debate about the price or wording in their terms then go to Whetherspoons which has good food, good prices, and no arguments or misleading deals.

Both had chicken tikka curry curry was like water tasted same descusting and price of two siet pepsis which they say only does one size was same price as one meal descusting price service is slow too.

Booked for 22 of us from toddlers to us youngsters (lol) had a great meal the staff were very helpful and efficient. All the meals came out well presented and cooked exactly to order. The only criticism I have is a constructive one we would have preferred the kids meals to come out before the adults meals.overall we had a wonderful night and will eat there again and again

We booked at short notice for Sunday lunch and they accommodated us no problem. We ordered food and asked for the kids meals to come out with the adults starters which didn't happen. When the kids meals came out the spaghetti bol was that hot it at to stand for 10 minutes to cool down. We spent 5 minutes consoling my niece because she burnt her mouth. Bar staff were few and far between and spent more time waiting to be served than would be expected.

Where do I start!? We booked the crows nest for our wedding reception when we realised there was a good few hours gap between our ceramony and our evening party On arrival the manager Hannah meet us outside to show us where we were sat straight away she congratulated us and took us inside.. the staff had decorated the tables beautifully with the decorations I provided and when realising we had spare bits they added a few things they'd made themselves that really touched me and they obviously cared!! The buffet came out and all 33 of my guests commented on how wonderful it was I cannot stress enough how wonderful the staff were nothing was to much bother they even helped us pick bottles of wine for the tables well done the crows nest!! You really helped make one of the most Important days of my life special I hope you all get the recognition you deserve :) we will defiantly be back to visit soon iv added some photos even though they don't do the decorations justice as they were beautiful thank you for going out of your way to do this for me and my new husband and we look forward to seeing you soon! :)

Came down the crows Friday night for a drink with friends. Soon as you walk in your greeted by friendly staff who are always happy to help. The staff working helped us find a free table as there was a few of us and they explained how everything works. We ordered food and there was a 45 minute wait on. Our food came out well before that which was great. Can't go wrong with the prices as well and service at the bar is fast. There was karaoke on after we finish food as well which was a good laugh. The girls working I believe it was Hannah Kim and Jodie ,were all incredibly helpful and went out of there way to make our night great . A big thank you to them we will definitely be back again soon
