I recently spent a Mother’s Day weekend at Crowne Plaza Marlow, and it was a mix of positives and disappointments. Overall, the experience had its highs, but strong issues stood out that affected the quality of our stay. The welcome we received was top-notch. Dinesh, who greeted us at check-in, was an absolute gem. He wished my mum a Happy Mother’s Day and even upgraded our room at no extra charge, which was a lovely surprise. He made the effort to ensure we could check in a bit earlier and check out later, which made our stay feel all the more special. His warm and helpful service set a great tone for the beginning of our visit. The room itself was lovely – clean and comfortable. The bed was cozy, and the bathroom was spacious and modern. The spa experience, however, left much to be desired to put it very politely. We had booked a "relaxing" spa day, which included use of the spa facilities and a 25-minute massage each. Unfortunately, we were informed ahead of time that one of the masseuses had called in sick, so our treatments were rearranged. While I understood this, it did throw off our plans a bit, and we ended up having massages at different times. Things went considerably downhill further when we arrived at the spa. First, the key card wouldn’t work, and despite notifying staff, it never got fixed. The spa facilities themselves were basic but functional, and we enjoyed relaxing in them for about 1.5 hours at best. Things took a turn when a group of schoolboys arrived. A full football/rugby team – yes, a whole team of 20+ kids – seemed to take over the spa area. Earlier, while having our lunch we’d noticed them playing football on the lawn and no staff intervened to stop them from throwing the ball into the glass conservatory. Once they entered the pool area, it quickly became chaotic. There was screaming, shouting, running, and jumping into the pool, which led me to cut my swim short. I was getting splashed continuously and almost hit with a ball being thrown around the pool. The adults supervising them were three dads who barely attempted to control the situation until about 1.5 hours in. The noise was unbearable, and I couldn’t even hear my mum speaking to me next to me. We eventually left the pool because of the overwhelming noise. I went to the receptionist to address the issue, but was told there wasn’t much they could do because the boys had paid to be there, were booked until 7:45pm, and in the T&C's it said children were allowed between those times. I understand that the hotel wants to cater to families, but this wasn’t the right setting for a peaceful spa experience as clearly advertised. My mum's massage was also stopped at the 20-minute mark I assume because of lack of staff, with the noise from the kids clearly making it impossible for her to relax. Eventually, the staff asked the boys to stay on one side of the pool, but by this point, the damage was done and the spashing, shouting, and jumping in the pool still continued. We were never able to fully enjoy the spa as intended and found the spa staff unhelpful and unsympathetic. While I don’t have an issue with children at a spa, the experience felt more like a waterpark than a relaxing getaway. It’s hard to understand why the hotel thought it was a good idea to schedule a large children's football team on Mother’s Day weekend, especially given that the guests paying for the spa experience weren’t being considered. It felt like the hotel was more interested in the money from the parents than ensuring a peaceful and relaxing environment for other guests. In summary, the hotel were fantastic, the room was great, but the spa experience was marred by the chaos caused by the kids and nothing was done to resolve it. If you’re looking for a relaxing spa weekend, I’d recommend checking if there are any group bookings like this one beforehand, as it really detracted from what should have been a chilled experience.

I stayed here recently on my points, the heating/air con system was not working and I got sent a heater which was useless as the room was still cold. Reception advised me to claim my points back which was later denied and I wasn't refunded the full amount. Wasted those points on a cold room. Would not stay there again.

Our stay was lovely and it was all thanks to the wonderful staff, lovely food/drinks and great facilities. My only complaints were that they didn’t offer hotel slippers and the hairdryers are permanently plugged so I wasn’t able to comfortably dry my hair in front of the mirror.

Great hotel stay, lovely staff, nice spa and treatment, I have no notes there, they knocked it out of the park! Karim took great care of us on the hotel side and Mohi at the restaurant (which did not have a single miss when it came to dishes). Only mild criticism is the location; the walk to Marlow is mildly inconvenient at 35 minutes sauntering pace, but it's a nice walk on a sunny day and we had a nice time in town. The hotel is still a great staging point for a holiday where you have access to a car. Would stay here again given the chance and use the time to go to Windsor and other nearby towns.

I’ll start with the positives : The bedrooms and food are great! I happily stay here with my family ( although the slow service for check would probabley annoy me) I would like to acknowledge the French accented man on the front desk who was excellent- not only at check in, where he instantly acknowledged my platinum elite status and bent over backwards to help me check myself and my colleagues in as quickly as possible whilst he manned the fort by himself, but when the event staff were missing I’d go to him and he went above and beyond to help with whatever I needed. The negatives are mainly to do with event staff ( or lack of). They weren’t around at all, and when they were they didn’t care. Leaving our conference room full of cups and water bottles in the breaks and generally being completely unhelpful.

Lovely meal to celebrate a relationship milestone as part of hotel package. Our waiter Mohi was the right amount of interested in us and holding back to give us space. The food was delicious so thank you to the kitchen team. The menu is divided clearly into European cuisine and Indian. We chose the Indian starter and main which were well spiced and well proportioned leaving just a smidge of room for dessert! The restaurant was a big space and busy but we were not able to hear our neighbours. The hotel is in an industrial estate but the back of the conservatory looks out onto a lake. My only feedback would be for more effort in the garden/pots: a few bulbs and primula would really add colour and joy at this time of year especially.

The hotel has the great consistent quality that you would expect from a Crown Plaza hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The room had a mini fridge with complimentary water, and a well stocked set of teas and coffee. The room was also equipped with a hairdryer and ironing board. The hotel itself is located outside of the main Marlow town centre. Taxi from the hotel into the town is costs £10 each way, Uber approx £8. There are some nasty posts that limit the road width to reduce traffic speed, so best leaving cars at the hotel. The hotel car park initially looks expensive, so best to park there and sign your car in at reception for complimentary parking.

WORST VALENTINES EXPERIENCE EVER! I booked dinner and hotel stay for valentine's. I arrived to the restaurant at 20:45 and was sat at 21:00. I did not get acknowledged despite speak to three members of staff till an hour and a half later that's when we got offered drinks. Food did not arrive till about 23:00 and on top of the two hour delay there was hair in my partner's food. We eventually had to leave the premises to go into town to look for food alongside other frustrated guests who had been waiting for even longer. The service was the poorest ive seen so far and completely unacceptable. I thereby spent most of the night looking for food in Marlow town. This completely ruined my stay and the Valentine's experience. I spoke to the manager Mihaly Tar the next morning to further lodge my complaints. This manager was totally unapologetic and very rude and blunt. He lacks empathy and appropriate managerial skills. He made the situation worse for myself as well as other guests and we thereby had to escalate it to guest relations.Guest relations tried contacting him on several occasions but he purposely refused to answer the phone. Guest relations advised me of a policy that stated that the issue must be resolved immediately if i am still at the premises. Myself and other guests complained about the managers approach as there was inconsistency in treatment. He offered us a refund for the dinner and offered others a complimentary stay whilst others were offered £25. I made him aware that I had no dinner as a result offering me my money back for dinner is not 'compensation'. I demanded a full refund of my stay as this planned disaster ruined my stay. The manager's explanation was that the cook was late and even though that's not an issue to do with me I believe the reason behind this failed planning was the shortage of staff meeting the number of reservations made. At a point this so called Manager (Mihaly Tar) asked us to deal with the issues as HUMANS? That's a very derogatory statement coming from a 'manager'. I believe Mihaly Tar needs to be signed up to a managerial course or refresher to further sharpen his skills as he is tarnishing the name of the company. There were so many people who lodged complains against him mainly to do with his approach. I manage 100 clients and 65 staff members and i have never acted out of hand despite the situations I face. Being a manager is more than being suited up and being rude to guests who paid for services. I have demanded a full and still awaiting for this to be sorted. I first visited this hotel in 2022 and put up a video praising this hotel which gathered 25,000 views on social media. I have since taken that video down as my perception of the hotel has drastically changed. I hope future guests wouldn't have to experience the same thing i went through.

I am extremely disappointed with our recent stay at Crowne Plaza Marlow for what was meant to be a special Valentine’s celebration. We booked a Valentine’s package expecting a relaxing and enjoyable experience, but instead, it turned into a complete disaster. We had dinner reservations for 9 PM and arrived at 8:45 PM. Despite being seated promptly, we were completely ignored for over an hour. Not one single member of staff acknowledged us, offered us a drink, or took our order. We repeatedly asked for service and were dismissed time and time again. It wasn’t until 10:30 PM—after almost two hours of waiting—that someone finally took our order. When the food eventually arrived, it contained a hair, which was absolutely disgusting (photo attached). By this point, our Valentine’s night had been completely ruined. We ended up leaving the restaurant without eating and had to wander around Marlow, a town we are unfamiliar with, just to find somewhere that was still open for food. We didn’t return to the hotel until midnight, exhausted, frustrated, and hungry. Shockingly, we were not the only ones experiencing this appalling service. Over 20 guests were left waiting up to four hours for food, with no communication from staff. Not a single manager was available to address the situation that evening. In the morning, when we approached management to express our concerns, we were met with complete dismissal. Despite the fact that we saw multiple couples in the lobby making the same complaint, we were told that no complaints had been received. The manager, Mihaly Tar, was incredibly rude, raising his voice at us and telling us not to speak to other guests because he was offering different compensation to different people, rather than treating all affected guests fairly. He even had the audacity to say, “Let’s deal with this like human beings”, as if we were behaving unreasonably for expecting basic service and respect. In the end, we were offered a refund for the dinner, but this was completely inadequate. Our entire stay was ruined, and we firmly believe a full refund was warranted—not just for us, but for all guests who endured the same appalling experience. Crowne Plaza Marlow turned what should have been a romantic, special evening into an absolute nightmare. The service was beyond unacceptable, the management was unprofessional and dismissive, and the way complaints were handled was disgraceful. We will not be returning and would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special occasion stay.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER! Firstly the ‘spa’ is not a Spa you experience at most decent hotels. It’s a swimming pool with kids section. The staff at spa reception did not acknowledge us as we walked past . Head down at all times . We chose the hotel based on the special package that promised a three-course meal. However, our experience was far from what we anticipated. We encountered an unacceptable waiting time of two hours for our starters, which left us feeling frustrated and neglected. Our table was booked for 2015. It was because we went to the Manager at 2100 that we managed to order. We paid for poppadoms which took half hour and arrived without plates. At 2225 we were still waiting for food. As a result, we were compelled to leave the dining area and purchase chips from the bar, as we were extremely hungry. The time now was 2230. This evening was meant to be a memorable occasion for us, and the lack of timely service significantly marred our experience. To make matters worse, when we addressed our concerns with the manager the following morning, we were met with a dismissive response, claiming that we had actually consumed all three courses. This assertion was simply untrue and added to our frustration. We were then passed on to two further Managers who were just as dismissive and claimed the hotel at £200 a night is good value for money! No, it is not! Your management team lack empathy and dismissed many complaints, not just from ourselves but others. We paid £250 for the package, which we expected to deliver a certain standard of service and culinary experience. Instead, we were offered a mere £50 in compensation, which we find wholly inadequate given the circumstances. Frankly, had I not consumed a few alcoholic drinks that evening, we would have left the premises and gone home. There is nothing local around the hotel. Others were ordering pizza as they didn’t eat due to the lack of service . As a business person staying in many hotels around the world this hotel ranks very low for guest services and attitude of the Managers .. This should not be a reflection on the young staff who were doing their best to deliver a certain level of service . Maybe the Managers need to take a leaf out of their standards. I urge you to take this complaint seriously and to review the service protocols at your establishment. It is crucial for your guests to receive the quality of service that was promised and paid for. I know I will receive ‘ we welcome your feedback’ reply which frankly sums up the poor service here! There are far better places to spend your money.

I stayed here to check out Marlow's great gastropubs and to get a taste of the English countryside without traveling too far out of London. This hotel is superbly located on the lake and has very peaceful views of the water as well as an excellent top notch restaurant. The staff from check in to the restaurant and the privately run fitness center (including a great sized pool, steam room and sauna) were so warm, welcoming and helpful. It is just a 20 minute easy walk to Marlow and a short cab ride to the surrounding towns of Bray and Maidenhead (I was on a gastronomy tour!). Rooms were newly renovated, clean and comfortable - they were also very roomy for standard rooms. Great value also. Would definitely stay here again!

Been using this place for years, great place for a meeting, have breakfast/lunch also had some work and family stay - hotel is average for the price, food is the typical manufactured low cost hotel food, but ok and hotel but well located. they now have a new charging system for parking.. was intending to have lunch.. but the system is designed to trick you and forget.. so in a couple of weeks you get a nice surprise and a hefty fine.. generally you register on arrival this is on departure and I just know I’d forget after a good lunch with friends. we left and didn’t even manage to drink our drinks.. will never use again, pity these hotels introduce these parking systems to profit.. now in a nice country pub with plenty of parking!!

I live a 5 minute drive away but thought it would nice to book a spa night getaway, especially since I had enough points for a reward night. I was charged £23, the receptionist said it was an error and said she refunded it. It’s been 4 days since the charge posted, and 3 days since I’ve contacted the hotel about this and I have not received a refund nor a response. Also, if you are going to this hotel for just the spa, know that it’s pretty crowded. I was there for two hours waiting for the hot tub (fits only 4) and it never freed up. Sauna/steam room was also pretty busy with ~4-6 people in at a time, but the pool lanes only had 1-2 people each at a time so fairly open and it was warm Breakfast was awesome though! One star though because still have no idea what this £23 charge is and can’t get a response from the hotel.

My wife and I have had another wonderful experience at the Crowne Plaza Marlow. We came here 2 years ago for our 1st wedding anniversary and had an amazing experience. Therefore, we decided to return to for an early 30th birthday weekend away. Everyone was kind, polite and helpful. Food was delicious (we had an evening 3 course meal and afternoon tea) and the whole experience was just as outstanding as our previous visit. We travelled from Wales and the journey was well worth it! We will be returning in the future.

I recently stayed at Crowne Plaza Marlow for a night and had a fantastic time. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. As I had Diamond status with IHG I was given a complimentary upgrade which was greatly appreciated. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. It was nice and quiet too, so I had a great nights sleep. The location of the hotel is around a 20 minute walk to central Marlow, or a 5 minute car ride. It might not be the most convenient location, but it is nice and quiet, and has a nice outlook. I stopped in their on-site restaurant for dinner on the night I stayed and really enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was also fantastic, with a great selection. I would highly recommend Crowne Plaza Marlow to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Marlow.

Zofshan was such a welcoming masseuse at Crowne Plaza Hotel. I had a lot of knots in my back and Zofshan was able to work them out with great expertise. Zofshan also asked me what level of pressure I would like and adapted it to my needs. Very happy with the level of service and care.

The welcome started before I even got to the door. Lively, courteous staff. Brilliant English breakfast. The rooms are very large and well equipped. Hair dryer bit lication is weird as plugged in next to tv, not near a mirror for wifey. Overall though everything you would expect from a Crowne Plaza.

We had a long awaited Christmas girls weekend. The hotel rooms are presentable and spacious. The swimming pool and spa facilities are OK. The food, however, was very unpleasant. The dishes were very disappointing. Nobody enjoyed the food and there were missing items - but by the time they were served everything was even more cold and off putting. The waiting staff did their best and could not fault them. They were doing their best. When we filed a complaint in the morning, we were faced with resistance to apologise and the staff were utterly reluctant to compensate for the disappointment. We will never return nor recommend.

I used this hotel thanks to a voucher that included a massage, overnight stay, dinner and breakfast. Nice renovated room, some elements didn't fit, such as a very old telephone, a small plastic kettle that kept getting hot and didn't turn itself off. Unfortunately, there was no peace in the garden because there was an Indian wedding at that time and the music was loud. Fortunately, the room was located in another wing. Helpful and nice staff. The food is delicious Massage lasting 30 minutes, average There is an on-site swimming pool and gym

From the moment we arrived to the time we left its been great service…. We checked in early and was greeted with absolute professionalism, the lovely lady even sent up the sweet treats to the room… after chilling in a very spacious room, me and my husband brought some drinks and enjoyed the beautiful views out by the lake by far the selling point of everything, we went back to buy more drinks and met abhi who i must say is an absolute delight to talk with and a credit to the company…. Its the smalls things that make the big difference and he remember my husband been vegan and held him a menu for dinner. We went for a swim and hot tub and sauna the young lady on the desk (didnt take her name but lightskin was on the desk at 5/6pm)was so lovely and accommodating and credit to the company. We went for dinner and abhi talked us through recommendations and i must say dinner was 10/10… Beeakfast was ok sausages was little dry but everything else fresh and tasty. Overall this is my top spot for hotel stay and no doubt will be back esp in summer months. I hope abhi and young lady at the spa side are recognised for the above and beyond work

Great stay at Crowne plaza marlow, received a voucher and decided to book this spa. The rooms were so clean, we decided to order room service instead of eating in the restaurant and was surprised at the quality and how nice the food was (usually room service can be hit and miss) and staff were very friendly. I had a lovely massage by Zefshan, thanks for your great service! I would say the spa area is quite sad looking, hot tub and pool could have a revamp and potentially have times children can swim as there was a lot of screaming in the pool during our stay. The spa has a lovely outside area if warm too! Thanks!

A quiet dull hotel with a small lake view at the back, near an industrial zone. After checking in we were told that we’ll be given a sweet treat at 17.30 but that came after 1hr, which wasn’t worth the wait as it was 2 small sweet cubes. Couldn’t use the swimming pool as it closes at 20.00. Dinner was rubbish if you choose from the British menu for starter there was Salmon in some sauce which was just a mouthful and main there chicken with stuffing and a bone sticking out at the end with a rectangular burnt piece of potato with some sauce but the Indian menu was very good which we had to pay another £40 as the British one was simply awful. Breakfast was good, it’s an open self service buffet with British fry up, tea, coffee, fruits, yogurt, croissant… Didn’t like the overall feel and stay at the hotel. Plus you pay £75 on top which they hold.

Hugely disappointed. A lovely pub that should have been a good experience but they seem not to want me there. Went in on a Sunday and understandably tables were reserved (though most not yet occupied). I asked if I could sit down for 20 minutes (having just walked from Cookham station) but was directed to the conservatory to the rear where I would have on my own. I stood at bar and drank up quickly, but on leaving noticed one table not reserved at all and another not reserved for another 30 mins. They could have seated me if they wanted to. Perhaps you only get a warm reception if you are eating?

I worked 2 years in Mayfair London and allways pay attention to details, staff are lovely and cautious with the step of service, price for food was good. I enjoyed the fact that they do their own artworks so you can purchase to support new talents, Music background was good and ill be back for the soup of the day. ;)
