Visited this place on a trip back to the UK to see family and one family member recommended it and booked a table. The first disappointment came when we were not given the table she had asked for and a move to something more acceptable only came after a fair amount of insistence and very grudgingly, on the part of the waitress. Drinks were slow in coming and when they did arrive, one of our group was given tap water when she'd very clearly ordered soda water. There had been a short conversation with the gentleman who appeared to be 'head waiter' about my vegetarian Thai curry and yet I was brought a prawn curry. Obviously that was taken away and the rest of the party began their meals while they were hot. After five minutes, I went to the kitchen to request something simpler to prepare, so that by the time my dish was brought, I wouldn't be eating alone, but was assured that my curry would be with me in minutes. When I returned to the table, the rest of the party were already complaining about the overcooked battered fish....the one dish that had been the reason for recommending we eat there in the first place! This wasn't a weekend visit and not really over-busy, but we obviously chose a bad night. We certainly won't be going again, but what is even more important is that our family member, who recommended it and is local, probably won't be either.

We have cycled to this venue 6 times from stafford and today was very disappointing. Service was terrible are dinner arrived with no cutlery i asked for extra gravy never received it. We weren't asked if we wanted any sauces to compliment our meats on the Sunday lunch. I left my dinner halfway through to ask about my gravy entered the pub and asked the girl just in the door she said go and ask at the bar????? Stood at the bar for 5 mins no eye contact with anyone till then. Cold dinner on return. On one good point the dinner was delicious even cold.....compliments to the chef. Front of house needs training in above and beyond even if your at your post

The place is fantastic but the service is to be desired. Especially the bar staff. When you ask for a white wine spritzer and they don't know what you are talking about. Obviously they are not training the staff.

I normally love the crown warf but we have been twice in the last month. On the first occasion I ordered food, the server poured my chips on my lap, bizarrely they didn't say a word, no apology, no words at all, they simply walked away. Very odd. Today we sat outside for drinks and the security man insisted we moved tables to share with another couple to ensure we were all sat like sardines on the benches. Far from a premium experience and a real shame the staff let it down. A brilliant location that feels mismanaged.

**A Standout Pub with a Distinctive Charm** Crown Wharf in Stone is a true gem, blending history, modern design, and a welcoming atmosphere into one incredible space. The building itself is a standout feature—its eclectic architecture and thoughtful restoration create a unique ambiance that sets it apart from more conventional pubs. Whether you’re admiring the industrial-inspired interiors, the striking use of materials, or the way the space pays homage to its heritage, there’s a real sense of personality woven into every corner. It’s the perfect spot for those who appreciate spaces with character and a bit of storytelling behind them. Beyond the aesthetics, the pub delivers a fantastic experience, with a great selection of drinks, well-crafted food, and friendly service that makes every visit enjoyable. It’s a venue that effortlessly combines style with substance, making it a must-visit in Stone.

Been loads always enjoyed experience untill today. My Friends & I all on our best behavior arrived and within 2 minutes of accessing the outside space were told to sit down due to potential unnaceptable noise if we were standing? We came inside and sat. We watched a group of Asian individuals STOOD outside for 20 minutes when one of our group asked the question as to why the difference? To be aggressively confronted with "have we got a problem " by the manager sho eventually asked them to sit! Why were we treated differently?????

Visited CW numerous times always enjoyable. Today we popped in. As a group of 8 we collected our drinks went outside some sat at a table some stood within 2 mins we were requested by the manager to ALL sit down as those that stood made more noise??? We all went inside and sat at a table. We noticed a group of Asian people outside STANDING at a table clearly observed by the same manager who confronted us for 20 mins, one of our group approached the manager to ask why the difference in standards and was aggressively told DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM? before he approached the group. Felt like we were singled out.

There are booths with different themes today we sat in the Elvis booth the decor is very interesting and a big open bar. The menu choice is vast. Gluten free option are available asked about allergens on ordering and if you aren’t sure they will go and ask the chef, you get separate cutlery and your food is served separately as well. The steak pie had plenty of meat in could have done with some more veg but was very nice. The gammon was cooked perfectly and was very nice. Will visit again

We had a quirky booth opposite the bar. Fantastic! Had a really lovely family lunch. 2nd time we have been and will absolutely go back. I have a mustard allergy do couldn't have the beef...Jack made sure I was fully aware of allergens and had printed information available. I had the roast pork......delicious. Staff and atmosphere were good. The clunky chicken burger was awful. A wafer thin piece of chicken in breadcrumbs so hard I couldn’t even cut it with a knife. Even the waitress looked embarrassed when she brought it over. How that was allowed to leave the kitchen is beyond me.

Lovely pub setting, food inadequate. Went today for Mothers Day, what a disappointment! Over cooked meat, rock hard potatoes and when told staff just received "oh dear, sorry about that" even though the vast majority of the meal went back. We were pleased with the starters, but the disappointment of the main and the lack of sincerity of the staff. I would not reccomend, the meal was not worth £67 for three of us. Bitterly disappointed on Mother's Day

We chose a few items of food to pick at while drinking glasses of Chardonnay. We ordered at the bar and the food service was quite fast. We chose Buttercross pulled pork, stuffing and apple sauce ciabatta served with salad garnish, Rosemary sea salted fries, Scampi bites with homemade tartre sauce, and Breaded brie bites with fig chutney. It was all delicious and piping hot, served all together on a couple of plates ready for us to share. We visited on a Monday lunchtime. Both car parks were very full with just 2 spaces vacant. Inside, the booth seating was al pretty busy but there was lots of space at both the tall and low tables. The music was at a good level so you could still comfortably hold a conversation. There is seating outside also.

Restaurant was freezing ,kept out coats and scarves on , service was poor . All young kids who didn't smile or make eye contact . Waited ages for drinks and ability to order our meal . Food came and wasn't hot ,barely warm ,sat shivering . Ages waiting for service to order drinks and dessert . Wish we hadn't bothered, portions were tiny and the cheesecake was actually tasteless and there was ice in the ice cream ( literally could taste pieces of ice ) the final straw was when the young male server came over and mumbles something at me and as I hadn't heard what he said ,he said without even making eye contact ,you need to pay your bill as table service finished at 7pm . Clearly the staff haven't been trained in hospitality and customer service ,no smiles ,eye contact . Everyone just seemed miserable . We had four different people attend our table at different times and not one smiled or made eye contact . Cold food ,cold restaurant and poor service .no ambience . Won't bother again .

Lad behind the bar didn't want to speak Booked a table of eight for food (Christmas works party) Arrived on time at 5:30pm,Monday Waiter at the bar was a seriously disinterested guy who uses a cocky head flick to engage in conversation, refused to take my card or keys and start a tab so we had to make about eight payments at the bar throughout the night because they 'don't trust anyone with a tab on a weeknight, due to less staff' Less staff... he wasn't joking. After we sat down he came over with menu's and said 'come to the bar when you want to order' Yes, nobody waiting on in the restaurant what so ever! I was really disappointed that nobody advised on the booking that it would be a pay at the bar service on a weeknight, not sure if that's a new thing as I've been here a lot and never had to do this, shame it was our yearly Christmas party so I wanted it to be enjoyable Anyway, on a positive note the food quality is good value for money which thankfully made up for it a little. The two ladies who brought the food/collected glasses were polite and so was the lad who wears glasses and works behind the bar also. Unfortunately his companion needs to understand that working behind the bar means speaking, not grunting or head signals

A truly magnificent experience not even the gods in their vast pantheons could ever conceive. A sublime symphony of decadent cuisine and aristocratic esque customer service. Food arrives at speeds faster than Hermes could ever attain. Eyes water at the divine presence of such lovingly crafted food, and the nasal caverns erupt with excitement at the captivating aroma of fresh coffee. Customer service is an understatement. Even the most distinguished butlers whom are polished at their trade, serving the hollow hearts of our monarchy would fall to their knees in desperation of the magnitude and proficiency at which the staff nay, the elite beings reduced humbly to such a title, bring happiness and pure, unbridled joy to us peasants. A magnum opus of the restaurant/ coffee shop trade.

We waited a while to have our order taken and then there was an issue with the system apparently which meant our order didn’t go through. We waited 50 minutes for food in the end but the staff were really apologetic and did take off some bits of the bill as a sorry so that was appreciated. We’ve been several times to whites but this time it felt chaotic and not as attentive
