Banged my head on the stupid oak beam and the woman who served us hates humans and should go and live under a bridge! I think the bang on the head made me lose at golf the following day!

We had a nice roomy and comfortable table, polite staff attended to us. Food was lovely and hot and very tasty. Sue took good care of us and was very friendly and helpful. Very happy with our experience at The Crown Inn this evening.

Ciara does a great Guinness barely change and a great Hugo spritz. We have been coming here most days this week and she has been amazing every day

We had nice meal came with parents this time. Me & mum enjoyed our smother chicken! Onion rings could have been cooked a bit more! Dad throughly enjoyed his shepherd pie

We were looked after by Sue, who is a very friendly fantastic host. The food we ordered was excellent quality, and cooked perfectly. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Come here all the time with my Grandparents, they love using their Tesco vouchers here! Lovely menu with lots of variation, staff are made up of a small team so service can be slow, but they make up for it with Billie and Emma’s as front of house. Overall nice place for food, would recommend.

We had the supper club menu which was excellent value at £16.50 for 2 courses or £19.50 for three. Great choices on the menu , our party of 4 were all happy. Charlotte looked after us so well

Dinner tonight was lovely and cooked to perfection! Our waitress Poppy is a such a well mannered young lady and also very attentive making sure our drinks were full. Definitely will be back

We had duo chicken! It’s was tasty and they adapted my meal as I don’t like rocket and cucumber salad so spoke to Gary to asked if I can have garlic bread instead. He said may be extra charge but I said that ok. When we got the bill wasn’t ! We’ve never had a problem here food always been top standards. I’m sure we will be back again soon! I thoroughly enjoyed my soda and lime too so much flavour!

Food and drink was very good and quick to arrive. Service was excellent from Charlotte and her colleagues. Would recommend.

Food was lovely, drinks were refreshing and the menu looks great. The lamb shank Shepard’s pie fell apart in my mouth which tasted beautiful.

The restaurant was busy but we received very good service from our waiter Gary. Menu is smaller on a Sunday but still many choices. Food was a good sized portion & was delicious. Both myself & my husband enjoy coming here & have always enjoyed the food.

I would definitely recommend the lunch time menu. The food was excellent and Emma our server gave us a 5 Star service. I enjoyed quality time with my family without feeling rushed.

On an emergency family medical mission South I stayed at Premier Wyboston which in itself is a delight! After hours on the A1 and with much further to go I thought a beer and a burger was appropriate! The Crown is hermetically sealed to the hotel so... I walked in to be greeted by the lovely Billie..As my shortish evening sojourn proceeded I was looked after by Phoebe, Poppy and great food, service and environment! Thanks Crown!

Haven’t been here for over 12 months and I must say the food was cooked beautifully the slow cooked steak and ale pie was the best I have had in a long . All the staff were very friendly and made you feel at home . If you fancy a night out with family or friends and is in your area would definitely pop along .

We had a very reasonably priced and tasty pub meal here. Staying at the nearby premier Inn after a long journey, it was perfect for us. Good and speedy service, tasty food ( from the set menu) and wine and coffee , all for £54!! Thank you !

This was the perfect venue for a family reunion. It has been a considerable time since we'd been together and chances for future meet ups may be rare, sadly.We were delighted with the way the staff were patient and gave us just the right amount of attention.The food was excellent and I highly recommend this venue for a good value meal and good atmosphere.

What a lovely pub! I've not been here for a few years, but tonight we decided to visit with our 3 young children for my husband's birthday meal. What initially attracted us was the wide choice of meal options for the children. Most eateries we've visited have the same bog standard options of burgers, chicken nuggets or fish and chips. Whilst you have these choices here, there are also another 7-8 options including steak and moules marinier. With each child's meal you are given the option of 2 sides, of which there are around 10 options. My daughter is a potato hater so was able to choose corn on the cob and baked beans, without having to have chips.The children's menu has puzzles and colouring-in on the back to keep them occupied, however the food was brought out so quickly they didn't have time to finish them before their starters arrived!The adult meals are equally as varied and offer a few vegetarian options for non meat eaters.The staff are uber friendly and accommodating, and our meals were brought out quickly and were hot.The food was absolutely delicious and aside from a few scraps left over from over-full tummies, our plates were cleared!Overall a lovely experience that is family friendly and caters well for kids and grown-ups alike.

Hands down one of the best pubs I’ve been to in England. I’ve only been in the UK for a few months and happened to be in Bedfordshire. I decided to pop in for breakfast and boy was I blown away by their pancakes. They are .To.Die.For! They also have a wide selection of gins and beers on tap. Not surprising, but I will definitely be coming back to this area to eat at the Crown again. Finally, the customer service was on point. Why can’t all pubs have waiters/waitress’ like the Crown?!

I went with my family (a total of 8 people) for a meal at the Crown having been there before and having a nice time. I don't know what has happened but as a previous comment has said the service is really poor. The young staff wander around as if they have been told not to interact with the customers, not to smile and not to actively manage the tables they've been allocated (if indeed they actually have been allocated tables). I had to chase them for every part of the meal from taking the order, getting drinks to clearing the table and ordering dessert. It made the whole experience really poor. Whoever is in charge of the restaurant needs to sort this out as soon as possible. I wrote to Chef and Brewer with my feedback on the experience and didn't even get an acknowledgement so maybe that says something.

Had the displeasure of having lunch at the Crown Inn today, the service was absolutely shocking, had to physically go and see the venue manager just to be able to place my order ! Waiting what seemed like a long time for our food, when it did turn up it was inedible, seafood chowder was bland and rubbery, my sons lasagna was mediocre at best :( had to physically walk back to the bar to prompt the manager so we could pay ! ……. Do not waste your time stopping here for a meal, I would have probably been more satisfied with a pack of crisps !!!

This was my third visit to The Crown, staying at the adjoining Premier Inn. I was booked for Bed and Breakfast. Bed in the Premier, Breakfast in the pub. Breakfast was wholesome and plenty was a good selection of teas. I chose the full English Breakfast and enjoyed it. Previous visits were pre covid. I have always eaten in the Crown for an evening meal. On this occasion, I drove down from Scotland, 8 hours on the M1 and by the time I arrived at 6pm was ready to eat. However, I was asked if I had a booking, which I hadn't, simply because I have never needed one before. Several people staying at the Premier were turned away, but I was accommodated simply because I was solo and tucked into a corner. The pub menu was good and varied and I had no difficulty in getting something to my taste. I thought it was good value for money, but if the Premier is going to market the pub as a form of joint contract, there needs to be a little more joined up thinking between the two, although I appreciate the pub is an entirely separate business. My only criticism of the pub was that Breakfast on Saturday Sunday is only available from 8am although I believe its 6.30am during the week. I was attending an event which started at 8am on the Saturday so had to do without Breakfast.

Visited the crown inn on the weekend. Greeted by Phil with a smile. Food was lovely. Service was fast. Definitely recommend and will be back soon 😃

We visited on 03/09/21 for our evening meal. We were staying across the road at the other premiere inn and decided to have our evening meal there. We’d read the reviews and to be honest, were unsure of what we would get, quality wise. We ordered Specials menu. Garlic prawns. Standard menu. Korean chicken stripsMains. Both had. Chefs special. Sea food grill Bottle of SancerreBottle of bubbles. ( it’s on offer on a Friday)Local Ale… well more than one No desert. So…. Wow. Fabulous. I can not fault this meal in any way. It was so not pub chain food and is a credit to the chef, the manager and the staff. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was a busy evening. I would most definitely return. Bravo to all If I don’t win the teddy… I’m not coming back. Hahaha.

If I could have rated this restaurant zero, I would have, as a 1 is generous!We stopped in for brunch on our way home from Cambridge, the brunch menu was limited, but they had Eggs Royal (Salmon) and Eggs Benedict (Ham). it took an age to arrive and when it did it was so disappointing!The muffins were raw and not toasted, the salmon was cooked and not smoked and the eggs were more hard boiled then poached. The Ham on the benedict was fatty, tough and freezing, and the hollandaise on both was lumpy and out of a packet - both dishes were cold! Needless to say we didn't eat them, in fact we refused to pay for the food, and left hungry - We wont be back!

We went there for a family birthday, so there was alot of us The food was excellent and the female waiting staff were very attentive and professional. The only thing that let it down was a male member of staff (do not know his name).Dont know if he was a manager but we found his attitude was very off. He acted very put out when we went to the bar to ask for drinks and to pay for them separately instead of adding to the table tab. Made us feel like we were adding to his problems. My mother in law felt the same about him when she went in to book the table a little while ago. She felt she was an inconvenience. He needs to work on his people skills. The crown is a lovely place to dine and to pop in for a drink but to be faced with someone with that attitude can spoil things

Lovely Chef and Brewer restaurant situated just off the A1. Comprehensive menu and lots of specials too. We had the cod and chips and this was great. Fantastic value too, especially if you use Tesco vouchers. Easy access and parking. Friendly and attentive staff, although we felt that customers could have been better spaced in these worrying Covid times.

Above and beyond expectations. I traveled with my wife and sister to visit family in St Neots. 10 of us went in on Thursday with no reservation and were seated within minutes. Food and service was excellent. Our waitress Sue was a star, nothing was too much trouble and we had a fabulous evening. 5 of us were staying at the Premier Inn next so we’re booked for breakfast, £9.99 included a vast array of different breads, rolls crumpets, yoghurt, fresh fruit, as much as you could eat, also included was a cooked breakfast which again was all you can eat. We were at the Premier Inn next door so we decided to go back to the Crown for our evening meal, 10 of us again turned up just after 8pm expecting to be seated straight away, it was a Friday night, 8pm and the place was packed. We hadn’t booked so it was no surprise to be made aware that getting a meal might not happen, however the manager Phil (who was under enormous pressure) said if we can find a seat in the pub we would be served by 9pm. We found our seats, placed our order and at 2 minutes past 9pm our food arrived, absolutely brilliant. I can’t praise Sue and Phil enough, Sue might not like to hear this but we will be back and next time we will book a table.

What an absolute gem of a pub! After a stressful week of moving house to St. Neots the wife and I thought we should treat ourselves to trying a local pub and what a choice we made, faultless service, great selection of drinks and top notch food. We've found our new regular pub!

Good choice of drinks including my all time favourite Birra Moretti, food is yummy, service is efficient and friendly. Will use again!!!!!!!

A friend booked this for an early food for 4 of us. I did advise him as to the AT reviews but eh said he was there the day before and it was good. But his expectations are more cost driven than quality. Upon arrival we were shown to our table and then it all unfolded.We were asked what drinks we wanted but advised they had no gas so no pump soft drinks - cola, tonic, some lagers and other gas supported drinks were unavailable. Why the Manager did not go to the supermarket nearby goodness knows?One of us had a Guinness which when it arrived looked encouraging with a good head but is was only tepid and Guinness needs to be chilled.We then order our mealsWhen this arrived it was hilarious. The mash with 3 of the meals was grey and like a lump of soft cement. Not light or whiteWe asked for vinegar to be advised they had run out of that also!!!The other aspects of the food was edibleThis place is very poor.Lacking management and leadership and devoid of qualityIt is mass produced foodVery poor and suggest all give this place in its current guise a miss

Prebooked online in preparation for our anniversary dinner. Received a warm welcome and quickly seated. Waitress team were all helpful and friendly taking our drinks and food order within a short time.We ordered off the main menu using the weekday meal offered, Suppers Club which offers 2 or 3 courses for a fixed price. Food was as expected, lovely meal overall. Good value food for the fixed price of £15.99 however the drinks were expensive but this is probably down to corporate pricing and not the pub.Recommended.

Pleasant staff, not enough of them. Very slow service and the food wasnt up to much either. Had run out of several things and it was early evening.

Lovely building, great staff but average food. Obviously running out of certain ingredients at the moment. Little evidence of avocado in the prawn & avocado cocktail and totally out of onion rings. These were substituted with mushrooms which would have been ok, if they weren’t dried up and beginning to shrivel! Sorry but we won’t be eating here again.

We booked (as advised) and arrived at 5.00pm. We needed to book early as we had a 4 year old with us. We ordered and 2 hours later had only received a starter of a sea food platter that we had requested should be served as a main. The assistant manager said that there was only one chef in the kitchen. 10 minutes later the mains started to arrive together with the seafood platter that had clearly been put under a heat lamp. The food was totally inedible; the roast potatoes had clearly been microwaved and could not be eaten. We explained that we were far from happy and walked out. We discussed our situation with other customers who said that had also been waiting for an excessively long time. We eventually returned to our hotel and ordered a takeaway. Sadly we are booked in to the Crown for our breakfast tomorrow. We are booked in at 8.15am; but will probably need to be there at 7.00am! A clear case of a pub and staff who are not coping.

Popped in with a friend yesterday on recommendation from a work colleague - thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Good menu , very good value for money , service was excellent, attentive but not in your face and a good gap between starter and main so we didn’t feel rushed . Enjoyed it so much I came back today with my husband . We both very much enjoyed the food , service and felt covid safe during our visit Will be back soon

After a long day at work I walked to the conveniently located restaurant adjacent my hotel.I placed my order at the bar, beef burger and chips.After 90 minutes and still no sign of the burger, I requested a refund and bought a bag of crisps from the hotel vending machine instead.The cheese Quavers arrived immediately after placing my order and the machine accepted cash and card also.It wasn’t quite the burger and chips my belly was craving but nether the less they were crispy and delicious

We had breakfast here while staying at the Premier Inn.The hash browns for my husband and my tomato were missing and had to be fetched.My husband's toast was burnt on one side and even more burnt on the other. The server's response was 'I keep telling the manager we need a new toaster'. I hope he reads this and buys one. A slightly less burnt piece was produced but for £8.99 the breakfast did not represent good value for money.The following day we had breakfast at Tesco's cafe. Much better value, and no burnt toast.

Only average now; this place has been a lot better in the past. Pleasant airy ambience on a warn day. I had gammon; very chewy; left about half of it. Their beers now are all speciality beers, no traditional ones.

Sorry to say we used to love it here, but after receiving our food a Hunters chicken which should have had skin on fries as requested we ended up with triple cooked chips, onion rings no bigger than a penny also a salad served on a hot plate which was wilted and unedible Rest of meal was eaten as hungry? Reason we didn't complain at the time was we would have had to wait for another 30mins ordering on the app was a nightmare too?

Lovely evening in the pub garden, the service was prompt and we were never left wanting anything. The surroundings are well kept and tidy - thank you to all the staff!

Good food, Great Service, Felt Covid Safe as good social distancing in place, on line booking really easy. Gluten Free options limited but tastes really good. Anna looked after us today, excellent.

We visited the restaurant for a meal, 4 of us in total. 4 of us ordered a starter,4 of us ordered main courses. 2 of us ordered sweets. but 1 starter never arrived. Our main courses came, no problem.2 of us ordered from the sweet menu. The sweets never turned up. After waiting for 40 minutes, we asked about the sweets and were told the ticket on the kitchenihave been lost. So 1 ticket for a starter got lost and 2 tickets for 2 sweets got lost. All in the same meal. Is that even possible.

Food was excellent, more than your average pub grub. Service was quick, staff very friendly and helpful - accommodating awkward tweaks to the menu to please my fussy daughter without skipping a beat. This pub, unlike some we have visited since lockdown, has managed to maintain the authentic English pub experience whilst adhering to safe COVID practice. Would highly recommend. Well done!

We stopped by after playing a round of golf at wyboston where we couldn't get served!! The crown were happy to see us in their garden, very clean and smart pub and decent food. Will be our first choice now!

What a great little pub! I'm staying in the hotel next door to the crown and wasn't expecting much from the pub other than a hot meal but they really made the night for me and my colleagues, I had the mixed grill which was all cooked perfectly. Thanks to scott and his staff, great job!

Great Saturday night spent at the crown - we haven't been here for some time due to a couple of bad experiences but tonight was fantastic, great food and great service - we couldn't fault anything!

We were so looking forward to going out for a meal, the first since the pubs reopened to sit inside. We ordered starters, salt and pepper squid and a prawn cocktail. The squid was chewy, like rubber, and the prawns were tasteless, hardly any sauce on them and the wrong lettuce. The fish and chips we had for our mains were ok but the peas with them were lukewarm. There was no lemen wedge with them so we politely asked for some, the waitress came back with a few slices of lemon like you would have in a drink. The chips were supposed to be triple cooked but looked and tasted like frozen chips out of a bag. I think the amount of food we left on our plates spoke volumes! It was such a shame as we have had some really nice meals here, but not last night. You would think that with all the money the pub industry has lost since lockdown that they would be trying very hard to please customers with good food so that they return, especially as they are attached to a Premier Inn. The service was fine as were the drinks, but it will be a long time before we try this pub again. Chef needs to try harder.

It’s such a great experience being back in a pub where you feel so welcome. The team here re fantastic. The food is very good and the atmosphere is great. The tram can’t do enough to make you feel welcome highly recommend

Excellent service excellent quality of food well cooked very clean establishment friendly and helpful staff. Only a small problem with the payment for the meal and drinks the computer was down and it didn’t take off my deposit I paid when I booked online but was rectified very quickly when I mentioned it to the staff on final payment would recommend others to eat here and will be going back hopefully again in December

I'm staying in the premier inn next door to the crown so came over for some dinner, I wasnt expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by how much choice was on the menu and how nice the food was. I had steak pie and mash, one of the best I've had!Thanks to all the staff who were all very accommodating, I'll be back for sure when I'm next in the hotel.

Service and interaction with all the staff was brilliant, a special mention to Phil who was superb. Food was brilliant and the pudding was to die for.

Came in for lunch yesterday absolutely lovely atmosphere they had a lovely open log fire which set for a lovely relaxed lunch. Food wonderful the team they have are excellent. Would definitely come back!!

We visited last night as a family. Between us we had the fillet steak the pork belly and chicken in a basket. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent The puddings were also gorgeous The restaurant is fully covid safe with a one way system and hand sanitiser throughout. The loos are super luxurious I strongly recommend this place the chef clearly cares massively about the food they are sending out and it really shows.Outstanding :)

We had a Sunday roast to die for, roast potatoes were perfect, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, lovely variety of veg and the lamb was succulent. The service was spot on, we will be going there again without doubt.

We were undecided where to eat first coming out of lockdown but we definitely made the right choice! The food was hot, plentiful and tasty and all of the staff were very attentive and friendly. We were served by Sue and Harriet who looked after us well.

We had the most fantastic lunch on Monday 5th October. Phil in front of house was very welcoming & made it the most enjoyable experience.The food was out of this world & after a very hectic & stressful week it was great to sit in comfort & enjoy the excellent food.We had the pate & prawn & avocado salad, hunters chicken & hake with seafood chowder, banana waffle with caramel sauce, all the dishes were delicious, our compliments to the chef.We would recommend you pay them a visit once we get past the lockdown as you won't be disappointed. It was the best meal we have had in a long time.

My wife and I took my parents out here for a Sunday dinner, we try somewhere different every week. The staff were fantastic and the pub is very clean and welcoming. My dad had the fish and chips which was great. The Roast wasn't to bad, trio of meats were nice, shame roast potatoes tasted a little cooked from frozen.

We ate breakfast on both mornings of our stay at the Premier Inn St Neots A1. On each occasion we had a selection of cereals, pastries, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit and items from the cooked breakfast menu. Service was prompt and staff were friendly and chatty. Food was cooked to order and was tasty. Social distancing measures were being enforced and we felt safe in the restaurant.The only small criticism would be that it's a shame that some alternative coffee to filtered in a flask wasn't available - a latte or a cappuccino might have been nice, although we appreciate that self-serve machines may be a source of cross contamination, but all of the customers could have touched the flask push button. That aside, a very safe and reassuring experience and good value for money.

Myself and my wife went here for lunch after not being here for a year or so due to previous negative experience. Firstly they are very well organised and set up with regards to social distancing and Covid etc However on entry to the pub we were waiting at the “waiting area” for a good 10 minutes before being seated, the restaurant was relatively empty so not sure of the delay Orders were placed - I ordered the king prawns with avocado for starters with toasted sourdough bread. What came was pan fried prawns (which is a separate starter) so they took that away and delivered what I ordered about 10 mins later. However on delivery of what I ordered - the avocado was bruised and the cocktail sauce was awful and the sourdough bread wasn’t toasted. I ate one mouthful and left the rest. The waitress did say she’d take it off the bill Main meal was decent enough but the prawns were left on the bill and we had to ask for it to be removed It was the reason we stopped coming a few years ago. Service and food was just ok - mistakes kept happening and they seem to keep happening as well

A beautiful place staffed by really friendly people who look after you. Then hunters chicken is definitely worth a try. Huge thanks to Ileana.

Went back to the crown after a previously visiting. Ileana was fantastic sorting out everything we needed. Would highly recommend a visit.
