We celebrated my husband's 80th birthday and the staff decorated a room for us beautifully and provided a special birthday cake. The food, wine, atmosphere and service were wonderful and it was all reasonably priced (£213.00 for 5 of us). Many thanks to you all for giving us such a lovely evening.

Visiting family nearby who had visited here previously and recommended it to us. Attentive service and good food. The treacle sponge was excellent. Dogs are welcomed and catered for with a dog menu!

I came across this pub whilst searching for a good Sunday roast...this one came up several times and for good reason! We were welcomed in (greeted by every server you passed) and showed to a lovely table tucked away in a corner. Perfect for us (it was a bit too warm outside) and quiet as we were unusually without our children! The service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. Extremely efficient. We ordered two Sunday roast lunches. The portions were generous and we couldn't fit dessert in despite them sounding tempting! Yes, it's probably on the pricier side of most roast lunches at £20.95 but with good reason. Beef was delicious...and there is unlimited yorkshires, potatoes and gravy! They were busy but they seemed to coping well and our food came without much wait and piping hot. Would gladly recommend and like someone else said, the service is excellent so we had no issue paying service charge. The garden was busy and quite small but the potting sheds looked fun (maybe not on a warm day though!). There is a car park which was packed but we found a space as someone pulled out as we pulled in. Thank you for a real treat!

Very nice pub!! We went on Saturday later afternoon. It was quiet so we had our pick of the tables. I was absolutely blown away by the friendly attentive service. The food was really good as well. Other reviews talking about pricing and service charge - this is clearly a premium pub with quality food and service the pricing is not unreasonable for what you pay in most decent pubs or restaurants today. As for the service charge I would have gladly paid more for the fantastic service received. We were made to feel completely welcome, at home and valued throughout our entire time there. Thanks to our wonderful server! We will be back.

Celebratory lunch on a Friday , we sat outside as it was so warm and it was a pleasant atmosphere in the garden area , all our food was excellent and the service was great too , friendly and efficient, will definitely go again soon...

Extensive menu but small portions and nothing special. Very disappointing to find a 10% service charge added which was described on receipt as "discretionary" and noted that we could choose not to add this to our bill. Nothing mentioned so a clever little scam by the Kings Arms! Won't be returning

We were here for a memorial service and despite us coming at different times and eating less than we would have liked, we were looked after really well and I couldn’t fault the staff and attention. The food was served so quickly that we soon caught up with the rest of our group. I loved the Cheese soufflé which came with a mini jug of cheese sauce and everyone else said their meals were good too. The car park has two levels and has decent parking spaces. The pub is next to St Mary’s Church, accessed by a tiny lane as you come out of the pub on the right. Beautiful decor throughout and well worth a visit.

We were lucky that the restaurant were able to accommodate us post Gold Cup day. The food is lovely- we both had the mushroom gnocchi. The decor and ambience is stunning and I’d definitely come again when I’m in the area.

We arrived at this pub at 11am as an adult family (we are a handful at the best of times!) as we wanted to watch the Six Nations Super Saturday (3 matches)…. We stayed 8 hours! Staff couldn’t do enough for us! We drank, drank then drank again and ate EVERYTHING! The Chateaubriand is the best I’ve EVER eaten! Absolutely exquisite! A gentleman called Marco from Ellenborough recommended it and it was a fabulous tip off! Utterly delicious food. The server we had (who used to work at The York & Albany in London) was so very lovely - thank you for making us so welcome and catering to our every whim!! I also want to extend thanks to the lovely female manager. Staff and other pub punters were all really friendly. Doing a great job as an establishment and you’re top notch at hospitality. THANK YOU!

Often go with friends for Sunday Lunch - the roast beef and yorkshires and all the veg is awesome - followed normally by sticky toffee pudding. We go out for lunch every 2 weeks and still keep coming back here

This once tired old pub has undergone a total transformation in recent years and now provides an extensive high quality menu to suit all tastes. Service is efficient and booking online is easy. Staff were very helpful in making sure that my elderly parents could have a convenient table and they were happy to accommodate our large group’s needs. Food was delicious (especially the soufflés) but portions are very small and some of our party remained a bit hungry. Prices are fairly high but the quality justified this.

Enjoyed a late Sunday lunch. The Sunday roast just gets better and better. Service was first class. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon away from the cooking and washing up. Would highly recommend.

Seven of us celebrated my birthday! main courses and deserts all very good indeed and every single plate and dish was clear! What more can I say, - we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. Will certainly return v. soon.

Excellent Sunday roast today we throughly enjoyed roast beef. It was all so well cooked, and really tasty with a rich gravey. The service was also excellent with well trained courteous staff. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The place was very clean too. I can recommend. I have been many times abs never disappointed.

We signed up to the 50% off mains deal. We advised the initial member of staff who took us to our table that we had signed up to the deal .At no time did any server point out deal had to have 2 courses.( THE FLYER POSTED THROUGH OUR DOOR DID NOT MENTION 2 COURSES TO BE ELIGIBLE.) They were quick to tell the diner next to us that Steak wasn't part of the deal. After our meal was cleared away , we waited for an unacceptable time to be offered a Dessert menu ( not my job to go and search one out ) Not forthcoming , so we decided to leave. After receiving the bill ( food definitely not value for money at the full price ) we reluctantly paid , and cancelled a reservation for next week. ( I believe that to be eligible 2 courses purchased should have been on the Flyer.

We went to celebrate a birthday and a retirement. The food was delicious and the menu was much better, more varied and interesting than then standard gastro-pub style menu. Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. We had a great evening.

Sunday lunch. Both had Roast Beef. The beef is melt in the mouth perfect. The two courses for £24 is a no-brainer. We both had puds. Chocolate and Cherries. And marmalade Steamed Pud. We couldn't eat a lot in the evening.
