Had a lovely meal with my son last night. Everything was great, food, service,wait times. The staff where so welcoming and friendly. The place is clean and tidy. The manager is running around and not just sat watching. The food is great value for money and will be 100% returning.

Visited today with my husband. I had a classic burger, which was really good and my husband had the fish and chips. He said it was the best fish and chips he had eaten in a long time, the fish was really tasty and the batter was lovely and crispy. Plus our meals were excellent value. All the staff work really hard and are very friendly and helpful.

I've been here a few times, I suggested it to my friend who hadn't been before. We had lunch, fish and chips that were fresh and piping hot and well worth the money. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend.

Great inexpensive food in lovely surroundings with fantastic service. We often go for lunch on a Friday as it’s really good value for money. The lunchtime meal deal food is really good quality for the price and the service is spot on. It’s always busy and the pub is clean and tidy.

We went for my mom's 81st birthday. The staff was really friendly and served us with a smile. They were quick to sort out any of our queries and again with a smile which makes all the difference. The food was quick, hot and delicious. All 9 of us said they enjoyed their meals/desserts and would definitely go again. Thank you for making our night special.

Usually enjoy the food and service but my wife told me that the women’s toilets are disgraceful with seats hanging off, no toilet paper, water dripping in from ceiling and no sign of any cleaning having been done for a long time. Such a shame to ruin the dining experience.

We were a party of 8 celebrating our parents 60th wedding anniversary. The friendly staff made the occasion feel special for our parents, they offered to take a group photo for us. The service was excellent we ordered drinks at the bar and they were brought over to the table for us. We had took a celebration cake which the staff brought out to our parents and asked if we wanted plates to serve the cake and they also brought out some takeaway tubs for cake to be given out. Our parents really enjoyed the day. Thank you to all the staff.

Walked into the crown to be greeted nicely by the Warm atmosphere of music playing. We were given Table 25 and it was comfortable. Izzy served me at the bar and the Manager brought us a Plate with serviettes and cutlery on it. I ordered 2 jumbo scampi and chips and a loaded surf and turf, the meat was nothing but grissle and tough. I mentioned it to the manager and she said she would sort it. After around 10 mins she came back and gave me a refund. Izzy you’re doing a fantastic job keep up the good work as you’re always Smiling and having a laugh.

I went with my Mother for the first time yesterday, what can I say but really superb food and service. There was a young blonde waitress who made every effort to make sure my mum and I remained at table whilst she came bringing our drinks and cutlery to us, she was really professional in her work ethic. The man who came with our foods (may be the Manager) was so lovely and interacted with us. Food was just incredible and hats off to the kitchen staff and chef. I Highly recommend this place, I certainly will return again.

On the 3rd June I went to the Crown to meet old school friends. I parked my car and went into the pub for a few hours. I didn't see the small Pay & Display sign which is adjacent to the entrance of the car-park. My attention was fixed on not trying to run people over or crash into any other parks cars. Yes, I accept it was partly may fault, I should have noticed the sign. It is there but its positioned right at the point where youre concentrating on not killing other customers and is easy to miss, I checked on Google Street View. I didn't see any other signs displayed (have you paid & diaplayed) either on the entry into the pub or inside.....I cant see any on Street View either. To be honest, I cant see any pay & display meters either on Street View. What a great way to treat new customers! Slap them with an £85 fine for the pleasure of visiting their venue. What I find even more annoying than me missing the small sign, is the Crown's own security staff watched me park and walk straight to the pub without warning me of the parking charge! A pub I shall not visit again for obvious reasons and I would seriously advise prospective new customers to be aware of the parking fines there. I've paid the fine as I did park there and didn't get a ticket. But dear Crown, you really need to make the signage better with repeater signs such as other reputable car-parks use. I feel like I've been fleeced!

Visited today with the family. Food is really good value with plenty to choose from and excellent value for money. Although as they have recently changed the menu I ordered a classic burger, which is shown on menu being served with lettuce, tomato and red onion but it was served without these, but didn't realise these were missing until I had nearly eaten it. Also you can pay £1.50 extra for an alcoholic drink but Ihey had not got the wine on this offer so was unable to do this.

We had a lovely meal tonight with the family. The food was delicious and our waitress couldn’t do enough for us on this snowy night. Thank you Danni for your attentiveness catering for every need.

My husband and I have visited this pub a few times in the last few weeks, last Saturday we visited with our family. Each time we have been all the staff have been very friendly and helpful with excellent service and the food has always been very tasty with good size portions.

Our first visit to this establishment on Monday 28th November 2022 left us very disappointed, we didnt feel able to express our concerns on the day due to staff inattentiveness so made our complaints heard to Sizzling pubs. Geoff the pub manager responded quickly to my complaints and was eager to right the wrong. Without any further fuss we were invited back to the pub and try again, we revisited again today (5th December 2022) I base this review on today's experience alone since it would be wrong not to. The car park does have a payment machine for parking, if you are a customer of The Crown Inn then do not feed the machine, simply enter your vehicle registration number on the terminal near the bar. The pub was well presented with a good clean appearance in both the dining area and in the toilets. The tables were clean and set ready for service as was the dumb waiter (the sideboard, not a literal waiter) People got served at the bar and then dispersed to tables to enjoy their drink, this was so comforting as it can be intimidating to squeeze in to order food when the bar area is full. We learned from our last visit that ordering at the table via the sizzling app is not a satisfying experience as the app does not lend itself to customer wanting to make any adjustments to their food liking other than how a steak is cooked (This is the wrong that Geoff righted for us)... take your menu to the bar and speak to a human, in this case a very friendly young lady who adjusted the standard menu to remove such things as the pepper seasoning on the meats and adjusting for a well done egg and no pineapple on the gammon. Geoff the manager was himself acting as server today, we expected that he would be attentive to us since we were invited back by him, we did see however that all the other customers were being treated as guests the same way as us too, a whole different experience from the week previous (perhaps it was just a bad day for them) We ordered and paid for a sweet and a hot chocolate each today, because we wanted to stay, and we felt wanted too, (we don't normally have a sweet, always too full up) just like the mains, these were well presented and very tasty. Based upon the experience today, I am more than happy to recommend this pub to friends and family as a very deserving 5-star place to eat whilst out in Aldrige

Turned away again, told that I have been barred because of my domestic situation (despite Zoe not being there), by Mark and Danni. I was only going in for a celebratory drink with my friends. Absolutely shocking behaviour from a pub. I do hope Geoff sees this. Kind regards, Martin Hunter.

My husband and I visit this pub regularly for lunch. Last Thursday we went and decided to try the fish and chips on the 2 for £10 meals. We were really surprised, the fish was quite large and there were plenty of chips. It was really enjoyable. All the staff are very helpful and friendly.

We live in strange times, but The Crown is a sensible business. Great food, excellent menu, and fair prices all round. Staff are welcolming and guide you through the food options. Lots to choose from. This is a town centre pub with ample monitored parking. Simply log your registration number upon entry to the pub, and as customer parking is free, keep your food receipt as a back up..no problem. The Pub chain offers a myriad of app options..join, its worth it. Only marked down one star as a fan if real ale...didn't spit any.

Used the place for about 8 years and has slowly got worse. Though the refurb we give it a new lease of life but worse now than ever. Staff here have no people skills what so ever. A shame really as the place looks amazing.

Visited pub after arriving late with family, checked out website of local pubs and found crown open until midnight, arrived at 10.30pm to be told by staff cleaning pumps that pub closed at 11pm. Staff not impressed when I chose a drink where the pump / beer head had already been cleaned for the night. When manager asked about opening hours their customer skills where very lacking. Will not be visiting this pub again as did not feel welcomed by staff/manger.

Since my last visit the place has had an aesthetic makeover, unfortunately as a result of this the food and service has gone downhill! We ordered 4 meals, the size of the cottage pie was horrendous and was far too small for even a child’s portion. The side of chips we ordered came in a very small bowl with only about 10 chips. One of our meals was completely the wrong order and we were told there was nothing that could be done about it and one of our meals came out so late the rest of the food was cold! We came expecting a carvery that the place used to serve but were totally disappointed by the food and service offered! Would not come again.

Like most people i read reviews before i visit somewhere & knowing this had just changed into a sizzling pub it had bad reviews from just after they opened & my friend had visited & had a cold meal so we was not going to go , but we decided to give it a go on the Saturday before Christmas there was 5 of us & what a surprise it has been refurbished to a very high standard & as it was not full we had the pick of the tables, although in some parts of the restaurant it seemed too dark we had to move to get a table with decent lighting, it needs the lights turning up a bit.We ordered our meals at the bar, but they had ran out of rib eye steak so had sirloin instead. All the meals arrived in good time & all the meals were hot & very good! They must of had teething troubles at the start hence a few bad reviews but we was all very impressed! We decided to visit again on 28th December this time they had ran out of sirloin steak had to have rump but that was a bit tough but was still a very nice meal.One thing i noticed is the plates were moved from us both times quite quickly which is excellent unlike the other sizzling pub in Aldridge & Brownhills as always been left sitting with dirty plates.I would definitely recommend the place as it just goes to show you have to judge it for yourself.

This pub is very clean and nicely done out and the staff were helpful and friendly. We only waited about 20 minutes for our food yesterday and I enjoyed the rump steak. It was cooked well and not at all tough which frequently happens at pubs/restaurants. A minor problem was that the chips were only warm, not hot. To be fair, I should have said something when we were asked if our meals were fine, but I didn't have the heart. I can recommend this pub and will go again.

First time I have visited since the refurb. I have to say it looks so nice inside, very cosy feel to it rather than just a pub. The food was very tasty and good value for money. The portion size was quite good too and didn’t need a desert with how much they serve on your plate. Overall we had a lovely night, there was a big party there at the time but it didn’t stop the staff giving us good service and I am looking forward to returning soon. Only negative if I had to say one was there was only 1 staff member behind the bar and feel on the evening would be better to have at least 2 serving at the bar

Food was good quality and reasonably priced. They got the order wrong, and I was told it was teething problems, Train your staff before hand!! Lovely pub now its been refurbished, just hope they can get the orders right.

Fair amount of bad publicity recently regarding this location which has only recently reopened after refurbishment and change from a Crown Carvery to a Sizzling pub. Visited on 11-12-19 and were well looked after from start to finish. Food was high quality including the vegetarian dish one of us ordered. Price was great value for four adults including drinks. Only slight issue was confusion over two portions of vanilla ice cream ordered. No wafers or sauce; however this was quickly sorted in a helpful and positive manner. Nicely refurbished inside and based on our experience will certainly visit again soon. Had a great time.

Popped in for a few pints after work to watch the football midweek, had plenty options for drinks and reasonably priced. Love the new layout! Friendly staff and good service. Look forward to visiting again

Went for lunch with my sons. Great waitress. Food very good for the price and served very quickly which is what is needed at lunchtime

It closed for a while for a refurbishment which was definitely needed. It looks amazing. Unfortunately, the food and service were absolutely awful. We had to wait over 30 minutes just for a baguette and chips and that was only after we asked about it twice. The first time the waitress said that she would check and then didn't bother to get back to us, she just kept walking by. Another man that complained that came in after us was served his food first. The two tables in our line of sight also had to complain. It wasn't until complaining behind the bar that someone got our food. When it came a loaded warm Tuna melt baguette was stone cold, filled with a bit of tuna and a lettuce leaf. There was nothing melted or loaded about it. So why did it take so long? We didn't enjoy it at all. The atmosphere in there was awful as everyone was just angry that they had no food. Won't be returning and won't recommend

The new decor is lovely. Our barmaid was really friendly. The food was ok. However one of the meals was cold. On telling the waitress. She said she would tell the chef. Not very helpful really. I told Lee who I assume is the head waiter. He offered a pint of lager. Will go back again. Hopefully the waitresses will be smiling. It's only recently reopened so teething issues.

We visited last week, very poor, ordered three of the dearer steaks, all three tough as old boots.Best part the cheese on the top.

Went on a Monday lunch time. Had to wait 40 minutes for food. The refurbished tables are very slippy so you have to be careful you don't get your plate in your lap especially when cutting the very tough chicken. The tables opposite the bar by the windows are too close together. One of the waitors didn't smile at all. The other waitresses were friendlier. No body came to ask us if our meal was ok. Good choice on menu and large car park. Don't think we will go there again.

I would not recommend this pub at all.. turned up sat down to not be told that there is a wait on food. 30minutes goes by after ordering our food to go up to the bar to ask if there is a wait. The waitresses didn't seem to know them selves. So I waited another 10mins for still no food to come. By this point we had been here an HR.. still no food. So go to the bar for a full refund. To be met by what I think is the manager who didn't have a care in the world that we'd been waiting this long for two meals! And just gave us the refund with no apology at all!

Place has been refurbished and very nice inside. Sadly this does not extend to the food or drinks. Ordered cocktails which came in ordinary glass tumblers. There were lots of things on the menu that were unavailable and when the food came out it was not enjoyable at all.

I was initially eager to try out the newly refurbished Crown, but was put off by the poor reviews I had heard from locals. However, I decided to see for myself and popped in for an impromptu drink with my husband and daughter. We sat outside and my 3 year old daughter wanted to go to the bar with her dad. Naively we did not realise that children are only allowed in the eatery section of this pub, which is completely fair, but for my husband and daughter to be shouted at with attitude by the barmaid "you cannot bring her in here" was rude and embarrassing for my daughter.

Visited on Sunday afternoon. Told there was a 90 minute wait, not a problem, good food is worth waiting for...only it wasn't good food! I ordered the doner kebab, other half ordered chicken platter. Mine came out first, well half of it did, 1 of my pitta breads arrived next, then some of the chicken platter arrived. After a few minutes, asked where my chips and chilli sauce was, they fetched it out. Then we enquirer where the Katsu and sweet and sour sauces were for chicken platter, 10 minutes later asked for manager, let's call him 'Nervous Lee' he bought the sauce, only bought Katsu not sweet and sour with him, he was visibly shaking as we told him the garlic bread was stone cold, he said he had seen it come off the grill himself, I can only assume said grill wasn't turned on. After a short conversation, he offered us free desserts, don't think we will be going again!

It's obvious the current staff do not have a clue about the food they are actually supposed to be serving. We were a party of 11 celebrating my birthday. Whilst the food in general was quite nice, every single meal came out with something missing that was advertised on the menu. No guacamole with fajitas, not much of other sauces either I should say. Peppers were sparce, one of the wraps was actually still frozen in the centre also. Then on the sweets, all did not come with the advertised flake or custard. Not impressed to be honest, they will nee to certainly up there game to get custom they certainly will not beat the competition on beer prices, as drinks are not cheap. I should also say that as we were a party of 11 my wife & I popped in on Thursday night for a look round & to book a table we were told by the young girl serving in the restaurant that you can only reserve a table in the week, not weekends!
