Fab Indonesian fish curried noodles. Packed full of fish and mussels. The best meal of the trip . My daughter and husband had the pulled pork burger which they said that they were the best they’d had. Thursday evening was music night and we were treated to a couple singing folk music

We stumbled upon this place on the way back from the beach. What a decent find this was! Staff were top tier, very polite and kind. Food arrived pretty quickly, and was honestly incredible. My partner and I both had a margarita pizza each and we shared the pulled pork loaded fries. Deffo in my top ten meals I’ve ever. Perfect place to go when the sun is out, would highly recommend!

Totally unexpected find! Food was fantastic: pizza, cornish tapas, burgers - not just run of the mill stuff.. really well thought out, interesting ingredients.. vegan options too. Lovely atmosphere in the evening in the courtyard. Friendly helpful staff & some good tunes quietly playing in the background. So good we came back a second night!

Stopped in for a lunch while exploring the area and had the Spiced pumpkin soup and sourdough roll, which was in a huge bowl enough for two people and a lovely large crusty roll. The soup was not over spiced and just the right thickness and the roll was large enough to match the size of the bowel. Also had the Toasted Pulled beef, cheese and tomato roll with green salad, coleslaw, cherry tomatoes and chutneys. Again an ample portion and full of flavour, the beef is slow roasted on site and personally I think just the pulled beef would have been better as I am not sure the cheese and tomato added any extra to the roll, but very tasty, tasty and recommended. Sat in the barn next to the log fire and with a lovey cup of coffee made a lovey relaxed lunch, obviously could not visit Roskilly without tasting the ice cream as well.

I have visited Roskilly's Farm in which The Croust House is based, many times over the last decade or more but today we ordered food that was so delicious I just had to write a top review. We ordered a falafal burger and chips. The chips were flavoured with rosemary (and another herb I can't remember) and we shared the 2 items. The portion sizes were plenty enough for us to share for lunch. The falafel burger and chips were both absolutely delicious!!! Everything about them were soooo tasty. The falafel was lovely, the chutney and pickled gherkins plus beef tomato and roasted courgette. I would definitely come back and re-order. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the packaging all could be recycled. We also treated ourselves to a delicious Roskillys icecream. We both had the cornish cream tea flavoured one which was all the flavours you'd expect in a cream tea, very tasty. The walks around the farm are lovely, and you can feed the pigs, goats and geese. There are hand wash facilities after you may have touched/fed the animals. There are also bantams and chickens. The ponds also have ducks and moorhens, then there are the walks beyond, into a small woodland, through the orchard and back through fields back to The Croust House, and shop and gallery. The shop has many lovely items and crafts and is not at all tacky. Very good for greeting cards. All in all a fab day out and well worth a visit.

As a family who holiday at least twice in the area every year, we have been 'regular' customers for over 40 years and it has been lovely to see the growth/development from the simple farm shop counter selling cream, to a lovely little restaurant offering a range of hot and cold food and very reasonable prices. Sadly the Roskilly cream is no longer produced but the Roskilly ice-creams are some of the best available in Cornwall. There is also a small gift shop (although our recent visit was in the evening so it was closed) Our recent visit consisted of myself and my elderly parents. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, service was very quick and the food was delicious. We had pizzas which were far bigger than any of us could manage but fortunately they had boxes available to take away our leftovers! The menu choice is pretty good and we were just sad that we didn't have enough room for dessert ....

Visiting with relatives this weekend, specifically to have some food. Ordered the brie, bacon and cranberry toastie. Why it needed the bacon is beyond me, a brie and cranberry would have been better. It took a while to arrive, and when it was toasted it seemed extremely brittle. It was presented well, with a side helping of assorted leaves, but for me it did not come up to expectations. Im sorry, but I would not recommend a repeat.

Whilst visiting the farm we stopped in the on site cafe for a meal, opting for meals local burgers and sausages & mash. The burgers were tasty, and came with chips and a good salad. The sausages were fine too. Service was polite. We had an ice cream each for dessert and these were excellent.

Stayed in the Barn on the Roskillys farm and tried everything they had to offer. Meals were fantastic. Icecream was out of this world. Farm and surroundings are great and well maintained. Highly recommended to anyone who is visiting the Lizard. Will be back soon!!

We regularly stay at Mousehole and we always make a point of driving to The Lizard to visit Roskilly Farm. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The furniture is made on the farm and I would love to buy some but I'm afraid my pension won't stretch that far! If you're on The Lizard the Croust House is well worth a visit.

Not only do the make the most delightful Ice Cream here at Roskillys Farm, They have a great restaurant. The food is locally sourced..even from there own farm, and freshly made to order, They have built a wood burning oven , and make their own Pizzas. After a bite to eat, you can enjoy a stroll around the wildlife lakes, watch the cows being milked and see the calves

This is a perfect place to grab lunch with the kids. The food is tasty and there is a children's menu with smaller portions. The place itself is very pretty and the staff are very friendly. I absolutely adore the Croust House. Really recommend.

The Tolcarne Inn is a pub in Newlyn, Cornwall, just outside of Penzance. I happened to be on my way to watch a film about an Irish architect, when I stopped in the Tolcarne Inn for lunch. Suspicious of gastro pubs, ranging from uppity to down-facing. Ladies were pleasant, very quiet clientele, like a village pub. I sat by the window with my book about the cognitive decline of Joe Biden, but when the food came, I forgot about Uncle Joe entirely. I ordered turbot with hollandaise sauce and asparagus, a side of boiled “Cornish dailies” and a white Americano. A warning about “small plates”. Quite, quite. You could have lost the fish in the wash, the two asparagus were stolen from a fisher-maid’s garden, the hollaindaise failed to mask the paltry dimensions. The bowl of potatoes, lathered in butter and dill, was substantial, boasting my fish like a thin man wearing large clothes. (£25 for the lot. Suspicious? I thought so too.) After the first mouthful, I was shocked. I chewed slowly, methodically, the flavours informing my tongue. The turbot was cooked with rock salt; the flesh keeps shape, easy to pull apart. The hollandaise has none of that wiry flavour; it’s smooth, not unlike a Bailey’s. Asparagus are tender, simple. Boiled “Cornish dailies” - new potatoes - are tender too. Dill and butter not overpowering. When you are filled with shock during a meal, this usually comes from the waitress dropping your plate, or some punter attacking the bar, but rarely the food. My modest meal shocked me. I forgot about Joe Biden, remembering my youth. Perfect fresh fish - prepared differently in Bermuda, but the same sensation. The outside world vanishes. Flawless food. Tourists ambling in and out of the pub, acting like the Inn was just another watering hole. No, no, no. My little turbot and asparagus and potatoes forced me back into the shell of my youth, I thought about people thinking about youth; what form it took, and so on. Walker is in shock, on the verge of tears. Now, at this point, you reach out and touch your partner’s hand, but I was alone. So the waitress came over and asked, “Is your food alright?” Because I’m thinking about time and space, prompted by the excellent food, I look up slowly, like a post-operative patient jigged back to life. “It’s flawless,” I said. “Suspiciously flawless,” I added. She smiles, walks away. Meanwhile another customer - frothy, biscuit-shirted - has the audacity to say their beer is “a bit frothy” when archangels and medcine men craft in the kitchen like so many Cornish saints. A chef peers out of the kitchen, catching my eye. A smug smile on his face. “Yes, you are God,” I want to say; I want to sing this from Newlyn to Planet Neptune.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here. I had roast lamb and my wife had roast beef, very very tasty. For dessert I opted for the superb bread and butter pudding with clotted cream whilst my wife savoured the " St. Buryan Mess" which was delicious. The staff were lovely and our three dogs were welcome. All in all super pub food in a great location.
