pre ordered for 7.30 so I had time to get the kids in bed asleep so I could enjoy a hot meal and also eat in peace. arrived 15 minutes early, kids were still awake, so as hot as it arrived, and as amazing as the smash burger, chips and curry sauce were. I ended up sharing my dinner and ended up with most of it cold due to the kids. maybe next time someone pre orders for a specific time, stick to it. that extra 15 mins would have been perfect timing. other than that 10/10. very flavourful burger!

This is the second time I've ordered from this takeaway. And unfortunately to my disappointment the food wasn't all that great!.. The chips looked half cooked and mushy and the scampi was over cooked, breadcrumbs looking more brown than golden-yellow. Also the chicken nuggets looked much smaller than the last time. It's such a shame, as I have ordered from here for the first time the other week and the food was very nice tasty and hot. Not sure if I'll be coming back here any time soon.

chips were inedible it was like they had been kept warm overnight dry and very hard cod was a bit meh, used to be able to guarantee good food from here obviously not anymore especially when you consider food should have been really fresh given the time. sorry lost a customer.

Chips were hard, like they had been reheated. Wrap was cold and soggy. Disappointed as this is normally a good place, may be best to order when proper cook is on shift

The Smash Burger is insanely good, it’s difficult to describe just how good but they’ve definitely got it right. The BBQ chicken wings are also very nice. Korkers sausages get a thumbs up too. Prices were reasonable and the chip portions are huge.

Used to eat here a lot and could never fault it, was by far the best fish and chips around. Had not eaten here in a while and fancied there golden crispy chips, have to say either it’s a really bad day for them or they have gone majorly down hill, chips were a mixture of hard (overcooked) and mushy, nothing at all like they used to be and definitely way below average. Hats off to them for making or trying to make there own onion rings as most places don’t, but I would advise them to stop. very thin bit of onion surround by a mountain of batter, just felt like I was eating chunky bits of batter with oil. Very greasy. The smash burger was not too bad, good quality of burger but the cheese was really overpowering it’s all I could taste. Service was quick but still would have rather waited longer for better quality that they used to be capable of providing. Doubt I’ll ever order from here again.

Have eaten from here many times in the past and always really enjoyed it, in fact one of the best fish and chips I had eaten! Have to be honest seems from when I have last eaten here around a year ago things have gone down hill. The chips used to be golden crispy, these ones was dry and mushy. Ordered battered onion rings, great they attempt to make them fresh but really didn’t turn out good, loads of batter and very little onion, tastes like I’m drinking grease, burger was very average, shame

Staff OK but now on a few occasions we have come back with half our order now changing places to get our fish and chips. The Fish is what we could have purchased in a supermarket and also missing fish portion anyway and came back with chips only when we paid for cod and chips. No point in going back as no one can prove it. Not happy at all, one-time mistake is acceptable maybe two, but not ongoing

Have used this chip shop for many years but haven’t been for a while. Went there this evening and placed a large order (8 people). The staff were very pleasant and helpful, however, our order was incomplete with one portion of chips missing. The food was not up to its usual standard - the chips were quite dry and soft, the batter on the cod wasn’t crispy and my daughter’s burger was very crumbly. I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon which is a shame as this was our favourite chip shop in the area for a very long time.

Order occasionally for delivery and always very good. This review concerns a large order (22 people). Food was ready exactly as ordered and on time. All the fish were cooked to perfection, crisp batter and moist flaky fish. Chips were plentiful and delicious and the burgers, jumbo sausages, nuggets and scampi were all devoured and enjoyed. The curry sauce is right out of the top drawer and they don't skimp on the mushy peas. Those claiming the portions are too small probably don't know what a healthy portion looks like!! 100% recommended

By a mile, the best fish and chips in Maidstone. Normally freshly cooked, hot and plentiful. Just a shame they don't do delivery. 2024 Update: I first reviewed this takeaway 7 years ago. They've got even better and they now even do home delivery 😁👍

We got the gourmet burger with 3 patties. The wife is very impressed. Not been able to eat myself for a while but I know my first takeaway again will be here. Food is hot. Chips golden. Everything full of flavour. Totally worth the money.

Not a lot of batter on the sausage. Impressed with chicken portion size and it was tasty but not so pleased on the chip portion size.

Had a takeaway. Cod and Chips were good. However, the value for money, isn't that good, compared to other fish & chip shops in the Area. Out of four local ones, their fish is the smallest ( even the large cod) and by far more expensive.

sadly the food quality was dreadful, it was dry, cold and just not nice. We felt that if you cut down on the excessive packaging that you could indeed,reduce the £35 bill (just for 2 people) for a cold unappetising meal which we couldn't eat and threw away. Won't order again, what a shame! The upside...a very nice delivery man - nothing else nice about it. Shame on you for delivering such poor quality as a representation of your Fish shop !

Food quality has really taken a nose dive since we last ordered !! Battered sausages were overcooked as was the fish !! This place used to be magnificent.....the best in Maidstone, if not the whole of Kent. I understand that costs are spiralling out of control....but, there's a level of quality and service that Crisp Inns used to provide. Now, sadly 😥 it seems as though their standards/quality aren't parallel with the cost. Such a shame.

I am ashamed to be honest, my local area and they don't do salad in a kids burger! 'we don't do salad in kids burger im afraid!' if you were to put salad in anything it should be kids meal! Poor decision and bad move

First time i had to warm up the chips in the microwave. Normally arrives pipping hot no matter the weather. Lovely and tasty as usual though.

First time using this place, foods good as you never know what to expect until you've tried it.

The meal was absolutely banging, the burger was so full of flavour and quite large (bloated belly now lol) chips were crispy thick and fluffy inside. Delivered on time and respectfully. Amazing all round. Get ordering I know I will again.

Love to be able to review it but I’m still waiting for it to arrive. Was due nearly 2 hours ago. Restaurant said they have no contact with the drivers and just eat don’t answer. Shame because this is normally the best fish and chips in Maidstone

First time I've ordered from here, and it certainly will not be the last. The fish was fresh, succulent, and beautifully cooked. The chips were proper chippy chips, and the curry sauce was clearly home-made. I also ordered a foot long korker - mostly to make the order enough for delivery (I am that sad) and am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!!

Amazing food (except the onion rings) burgers are the best!

Simply. The. Best. Barr. None! Excellent food quality and even with JE putting their additional expense on the food items. This fish & chips shop is worth every penny! Tried a more local establishment recently. Bottom line: Won't make that mistake again. They couldn't compete with Crisp Inns for value, efficiency, quality, and taste.

Amazing food. I am a vegetarian and never been able to find any good vegetarian hot dogs and vegetarian fish until now. The fishless fish in particular was amazing! Could not recommend this place more.

I come here once a week. The service is excellent. I place my order by phone and give a time for pick up. On my arrival, it is always ready and piping hot. This is a treat for my elderly mother and myself. The best fish and chip shop by far, and I live near Hastings 😋

I've previously ordered before for my elderly mum ,and she loves the food! First time ordering for myself, all I can say is, superb! Packaged well, so it's still hot, good prices and fast delivery! Would definitely recommend

The most discusting fish i have ever paid for. Im surprised they have good rewievs. Fish was burn but not cooked inside. Chips like mushy chips, mushy peas very watery , just lost £ 16 because your awful fish went into the bin!! Dont waste your money ppl.

It was easy to book, too easy really because it could result in me getting lazy. The delivery was very satisfactory, on time and convenient on this occasion as I had been busy all hurt my leg and had no shopping in. I needed a reliable meal. Crispinns is pretty reliable for fish and chips but I would NOT order again because of three reasons: 1. the current pricing is too high for me. I understand that Crispinns business have endured price increases, but so have I. 2. On opening the bag, box and bag, the appearance of fish and chips was good. A nice golden brown colour. The fish batter was crisp but on removing it from the box I found it was stuck. On removal from the box the batter peeled away, disappointingly. Perhaps a layer of greaseproof paper under it, or allowing both sides to coll to crispness befor packing. The fish itself was quite moist not flaky through out. At first sight the chips were good and crisp, but in the eating they were disappointingly soft and had settled into a mush and had not retained their crispness throughout. 3. My desire for a convenient satisfying 'treat' after concluding a three day build for a one day event was not satisfied. The overall price of £14 odd for the meal was too high, but the delivery price of £3 odd was acceptable on this occasion. My conclusion therefore that I will think seriously hard on whether I would 'order in' again. Vincent Jasper

The food was terrible chips and battered were hard! Ask for cod and it definitely wasn’t cod didn’t enjoy it at all.

Disappointed this time I’m afraid. The onion rings were literally dripping grease..couldn’t eat them..as was the batter on the fish. Once I removed the batter there were two forkfuls of fish and no more. Chips were ok. If they removed the skin before frying it might help. Expensive mistake I can’t afford to repeat…sorry.
