Crieff Road Chippy in Perth & Kinross

Been going to this takeaway all my life, the food is quality, the sauces are deliciously and the service is brilliant; so please ignore certain people on the “Google review” who are just too obnoxious and arrogant even/especially for their & our own goods, as they spoil a genuinely tasty treat that you shouldn’t miss out on at all. Also the Creiff Rd chippy has some amazing pickled eggs which are the best, with their A-and I’m saying ‘A-class Gravy’ in a tub or slathered over your half battered chicken supper with a bunch of chips or battered haddock, it’s a explosion of flavour ether way and it’s simply.. divine. The old couple who’ve owned the business still and do work there to this day plus my parents used to go there when they were spry-‘er’, again the duet are a lovely duo that ken how to run a kitchen and fill a stomach!!! I’ve always recommended The Creiff Road chippy, especially when I leave Perth, as what I thinks, ‘is like the Anstruther chippy but from Perthshire’!! Totally underrated takeaway, well to those who’ve missed out on it anyways, if not, why no go support your local 5 star takeaway-cuisine again.

I have been twice to this chippy in recent weeks and have to say the quality and taste of the fish supper is as good as I have had in Perth. It is cooked fresh with two pieces of fish and plentiful chips which is easily enough for two. Price is only £5.60 so great value and well recommended. I

Una noche de camino al autobús de camino a casa fue por papas fritas para salvarme de hacer la comida. Entré rápidamente por el chip cuando llegaba el autobús lo conseguí justo antes de que llegara el autobús. Recomendaría.

Hace poco estuve en Perth (una ciudad encantadora) y conduje buscando algo para comer antes de dirigirme a casa. Un amigo había dicho que había un metro, pero no lo encontré ni nada más abierto que me hubiera gustado. Simplemente por casualidad, me topé con The Crieff Road Chippy, que todavía estaba abierta. Una deliciosa cena de pescado estaba recién preparada para mí, con excelentes papas fritas y dos pescados, ¡que no pude terminar por completo! Excelente calidad y valor. Servicio amable, el caballero preparó la comida mientras la señora limpiaba todas las superficies accesibles. ¡Muy impresionado!

As we walked out of the shop with the wrapped fish and chips, I couldn’t help but notice the strange smell, when we got to the car on the Asda car park, a very short distance away, the very well wrapped package was opened, where the unusual smell became stronger. The taste matched the smell, it wasn’t very pleasant, probably the worst I have ever had. Although you got two fish, my son, 28, couldn’t even eat the 2nd one due to the flavour, so as I had paid, and not being in the slightest a finicky eater, I swapped him half of my haggis pudding for it, even though I had two fish of my own. If I pay for food, I eat it, as not liking waste, it was a struggle to eat it, not because of the amount, but because it tasted so bad, the chips weren’t very good either, it could have been the oil that they were cooked in. Shame really, because the price was good, and they seemed like nice people serving there. I’ll be trying another place next time I’m in Perth. ,

I wouldn't even attempt to go there and order food from this place after being treated like i was today by one of the owners. They should learn some manners before they go and serve customers. Don't even think of standing in the front of their windows even when shop is closed and nobody around because you will get shouted that you are blocking doorway....even when you are not doing it .... Soo sad...be more polite then you will get more people in...

I occasionally go here for something to have for my tea. I would throughly recommend going here as it great value for a Fish Supper as you get 2 fish and a more than you can eat portion of chips. Definitely well work a visit. B-)

I have been going to this chippie for over 20 years now, the food is as good as it's always been, the chippie itself has never changed, its as i always remembered it from when i was a bairn. Fiona and Simon are lovely people and you always get good banter with them, Fiona is clearly the boss, add comedy value while waiting on your freshly cooked to order food. Keep it up guys, hopefully still be there in another 10 years.

We regularly travel from Fraserburgh (around 140 miles away) for this chip shop, everything is cooked fresh when you order, tastes delicious, still getting ur chips wrapped in newspaper is very sentimental for us, now in our 40's. and the prices are amazing too. Well done to the Chinese couple that run the shop, they always remember us and are doing a great service, always very friendly :) :) see you again soon

We had to try the Crieff Road Chippy as a relative of my partner worked there many years ago, and it was just round the corner from where we were staying. Everything was cooked to order, we all had fish suppers, and the portions were double the size we get in Edinburgh - take note! The fish was delicious and the chips? They were excellent. Proper Chippy chips. East coast folks take note, its salt 'n vinegar in Perth's chippy's. We'll be back, when in the area.

I got three pieces of haddock and chips with salt & vinegar. Because there were only two pieces of fish cooked they prepared my batch fresh. All was good. I walked over to the North Inch and had lunch in the park. The trees there provide enough cover in a light rain. That is not the chip shop in the current photo.

It's own by Chinese (Simon) but is only a chippy , good value large portions ,Breaded fish ,Chips and peas is the best My local chippy!!
