Just back home from a fantastic Sunday lunch once again at this wonderful place .Beautiful friendly countryside pub and restaurant .We have had Sunday lunch here on 5/6 occasions now and it gets better and better . Tasty hot food and plenty on your plate ,then vegetables extra brought to the table .We have booked for Christmas dinner this year and looking forward to the wonderful food and amazing friendly service .Thank you Vanessa ,Ian Holden x

What a great find! My wife and I will support any restaurant that takes coeliac disease seriously with a widespread offering of gluten-free food. Add to that the fact that they are dog friendly and we've definitely got a winner. Service was friendly and otherwise impeccable, the food first class, great value and the surroundings very welcoming - to the degree that we have booked two further visits to take advantage of their kind 20% discount voucher and festive fare! I think we've found a future favourite place to eat. Thank you Cricketts!

We went for a baby shower and it's was lovely, we pre ordered our meals which were delicious, I had the steak flat bread, definitely go back again.

Trying out lots of places whilst we have a kitchen renovation. Came for Pie Night. Excellent selection of pies. Piping hot tasty food and a good selection of beers and wines. Will definitely be back.

We have visited here many times over the years, but since the change of management this place has just gotten better and better. Sunday lunch was cooked to perfection, definitely the best in the area. Service was pleasant and fast. Will be returning soon.

Nice pub that is just striking the right balance between a pub just for drinks and one more geared towards food. Always a good selection of drinks.

My friends surprised my a girly 50th Birthday meal here. None of us had been before & we were not disappointed. The service was fabulous. The food was absolutely delicious. The only down side was we ordered way too much. The pornstar martinis we asked is we could do for us, were the best we’ve ever had. The team even surprised me with Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder on the sound system and a brownie with a candle. Honestly so sweet & we had such a wonderful evening. Lovely fresh food and the staff are always pleasant, I recently had a sirloin steak and it just melted in your mouth and cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend a visit outside has sheltered tables so even if it rains it will not spoil your food.

Went last Friday evening. Very impressed !!! Plenty of parking - Helpful staff - Clean - Dog friendly - Everyone was happy - As for the food, Excellent and good value. I had the Pitmaster Burger. To be honest I easily put it in my top 10 of burgers and that’s with having hundreds around the world including the USA where I have been 15 times and over 30 different states. Top notch !!!! Highly recommended Thanks !!! We will be back next time we are in the area

The Tables were a bit sticky and I found a spider in one of the coffees so check your cups

The food was excellent and there was certainly enough of it. The service was also really good. The value for money was also excellent.

Very tasty, lovingly designed food. And now here comes: Dogs are not only very welcome but also have their own memory card We felt very comfortable, ate delicious food and were allowed to spend the night in the parking lot with our camper Highly, highly recommended

A pleasant country pub, quiet when we were there. We had a fish finger butty and chips, tasty but I thought it had excess oil. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Have been here before and the food had been good. . BUT .. this time the food was not good at all .. there was attitude when I asked for tartare sauce with fish and chips, which tasted awful anyway . The peas were so salty it numbed my mouth ... another member of our party had pie and it was really peppery. Sirloin steak was really fatty .. the only nice thing was the Denver steak which my husband said he enjoyed .clearing the table took ages and a dogdog kept barking that was in a cage by the kitchen entrance . Also in the beer garden there was various piles of dog mess. .. didn't enjoy the meal and experience at all .. they did give us a discount after we complained and asked if we would be back. But , that's gonna be a no and I won't be recommending the place either .

We went to the Cricketts for a catch up with old some friends. We had a table for 7 booked at 6.30, everyone was on time which was good because I hate sitting around waiting. Anyway we were approached by a young lady to get our drinks, she introduced herself as Dolcie and said she will be looking after us tonight. Dolcie brought the drinks and a menu for everybody which I was impressed with as some venues you have to ask. Food was ordered and there was not much of a wait although there was a lot of tables full. After we had all finished we all commented on how good it was and value for money. We ordered more drinks and after finishing them we asked Dolcie for the bill and said can we split it 3 ways please, no problem she said and we paid and left. I am leaving this review because the place was so welcoming with fantastic food and drinks, full marks to Dolcie in her professional approach to her job. WE WILL RETURN.

We recieved a very warm welcome from the lovely staff. The food was excellent with very generous portions. And to top it off its dog friendly. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.

Disappointed with £9 fish finger sandwich, batter was very greasy and the ciabatta bread not fresh. Side crisps not the best either. Partially redeemed by good beer and piped tunes.

I’ve been here several times before and I have to say I was very impressed with the quality and price of the meals on my latest visit. It seems to improve each time we go. On a Tues evening it was quiet early on and by 9:30 we were the only people there so minus one star for atmosphere.

I’ve just moved a 1 minute walk from this place went in yesterday and had so go back again today. Food was so fresh and tasty im over the moon that this is my local. And lots of good options for me as a vegetarian.

We nipped in when passing, it's such a lovely pub. The staff are very friendly and the food was amazing. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, great selection of drinks, I definitely recommend a visit

What a little gem to stumble upon while on holiday. We went on a Tuesday which to our delight was pizza night. 2 12inch pizzas garlic bread and fries for £30 there wad more than enough food for 4 and there was only 2 of us. The pizzas were freshly made and absolutely delicious. We saw other food been brought out that was mouth watering.

Had 2 meals here, Saturday night and Sunday lunch. Took our 2 dogs, as dog friendly. Nice staff and food.

Arrived at our campsite and made it down to this beautiful spot just in time for dinner! And my oh my we were blown away by the food! By far the best food we have had in the UK in 30 years!!! With the friendly service and beautiful sunset we are super happy to have made it in time! Definitely will be stopping back in for dinner tomorrow night as well! Thank you!

Excellent Sunday dinner at reasonable price. A good varied menu and decent beer selection.garden area at the rear that is a great sun-trap. There is plenty of parking.

I had the pleasure of staying over in our campervan while visiting the area . We received a very warm welcome...after a walk around the area we returned for a drink and food.. The bar is a lovely place to visit and the food was awesome...thank you chef ! Service was very good aswell.. great menu choices, it was difficult to choose as they have a great amount of choice. Needless to say I was so happy with my choice...food was great and presented first class...a massive thank you team for all your great warmth and welcome...go and visit folks this is a lovely place....we will be back soon I'm sure...thank you.... Atmosphere pleasant and friendly. Service was great, the food is of great quality and reasonably priced. Would recommend the Crickett burger, which was gorgeously messy. Would definitely recommend.

Went for the 2 pies for £25 day. Great selection of pies, very tasty and filled us up. I found room for the pecan pie though 😋 Other menu looked tempting too. Great value, friendly staff, although mains were a little slow in coming out. Will return.

Drove a short distance from Conkers to a wonderful little Pub. Home made food of the highest order. Wednesday pie day was a treat beautiful hand made pies. The prices are very reasonable with a very friendly service.

Great hospitality & Service from Natalie and food was delicious. We were passing by and stopped for something to eat. We had squid as starters and Steaks as main they were cooked perfectly. Natalie was superb. She looked after us with professional and friendly approach and made sure everything was great. Highly recommended 👌

Visiting from Scotland, we are staying at Steam Mill Lodges nearby and the Cricketts Inn was on their recommended list. We booked and gave specialist dietary needs and they called on the day to check everything and give options the chef could offer around the Sunday roast. On arrival they were prepared and went over our needs again. The wait was a little longer than I expected, I was so hungry, I chased the staff (sorry) and the staff explained that the chef was being really careful. The wait was really worth it ! The food was brilliant. Our Irish daughter in law really likes her potato's and gave them 10 out of 10, I have to agree. The veg was cooked to perfection too, the sweet cabbage was lovely as was the chicken and Yorkshires. 4 of us had fantastic meals. I can't recommended this Inn highly enough and compliments to the chefs and kitchen team - gold star! Thank you to the whole team. Oh and they are dog friendly :-)

We visited on Mothers Day and the food was superb. The Sunday roast was perfect. It was my first visit in several years but I'll be back very soon.

The location is lovely and has the potential to be a really great place to eat. However, the venue seemed tired and in need of a refurb. The starter was far too big, nachos and detracted from the quality of the main. The lighting gave the impression of a canteen and the overall layout had a vibe from the 90's. If the brewery invested to make the most of the features and improvements to the furniture, it would bring the best from a lovely building. Get Gordon Ramsay in to redesign!!

Passing by, called in didn’t disappoint we ordered the steak a treat and it was delicious, as were the desserts. The service was good very polite young man was on hand to get anything we needed.

Just popped in for a coffee while on a ride out on my motorbike. Had a lovely drink in very pleasant surroundings, but a quick look at the menu made me make a swift exit at those prices. The chap at next table looked to have a really nice burger and chips so you pays your money and make your choice.

Roast beef Sunday lunch delicious. Unfortunately desserts let them down. When asked what the cheesecake of the day, we were very excited to taste it (blood orange and plum)! Unfortunately when it came it was a huge wedge of supposedly vanilla cheesecake with a little fruit compote on top. Cheesecake clearly bought in! You'll be pleased to know it tasted like eating a block of margarine and has put me off cheesecake for life!

Will not be returning or recommending. Awful experience considering it was for my 50th birthday. We could have gone and spent our money anywhere but picked here as thought it would be a lovely experience but it was not! 16 people were spread across four tables of four, not together. Placed in a side room with football on the tv and zero atmosphere. It was a horrible environment. Starters were awful. Mains were ok. Desserts were fine. The whole place felt like more like a working men’s pub than a restaurant. Really rubbish end to my 50th birthday celebrations! Thanks

Great Time At The Cricketts Inn With Our Friends And Family. Came To Celebrate My Mums Birthday. The Team Couldn’t Do Enough For us, They Even Played Happy Birthday On The Speaker Whilst Bringing Out The Cake We Brought In. Would Highly Recommend.

What a great little destination pub. Just driving by after a day at Twycross Zoo and decided to stop. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Managed to squeeze us in for a table. Place was packed out but couldn’t fault a thing. Service was quick and the food was great and reasonably priced. Great little find.

Very accommodating. Recently had all my teeth removed (not recommended if you can avoid it) and they blended the cooked ingredients for me so that I could consume the dish, which was delicious.

Nice pub that's just across the border with a car park. Painted walls and clean appearance when arriving. Table for 10 with most gone for the Pie and veg option of choice. Starters and desserts on menu. Good selection of drinks on offer. Perfect place for a familx get together. Saved in my ideal for Sundax lunch list.

A great place to eat, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Plus - more than happy to take dogs anywhere inside - perfect! What made the experience was a dog bowl of water bought out for the dogs - fantastic!!

Went today and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely and warm with nice fire, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, excellent meal which was well presented. Having mobility problems I found it easy to access and would be suitable for someone in a wheelchair.

The staff were utterly fantastic thoughtful accommodating and sincere. The food was great and was served in a timely manner. The whole place was warm both in temperature and in good will. Will I ever go back oh yes definitely.

Nice family post xmas late lunch. Lovely festive feel in a rustic country pub. Sampled some lovely ale & a very enjoyable lunch. Nice atmosphere & well worth a visit.

Really nice pies .... although they plated them on the wrong plates so my wife and I just had half of each others pies. Luckily both were super nice.

Went for dinner on Christmas day the food was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for you they where amazing nothing was too much trouble would highly recommend it

We booked mid week, only 30 minutes before arriving. I'm so glad they could fit us in as it was a busy pre Christmas evening. This was our first visit to the Cricketts Inn and will definitely not be our last. The whole place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was exceptional and the service was speedy, attentive and friendly.

The last time we went here we weren't very impressed, but it's under new management so we thought we'd give it another go. And, I'm so glad we did. The service from the staff was great, they were friendly and helpful without hovering around. The atmosphere was good, the table ate far enough apart that you don't feel crowded, and the background noise was quiet enough that you could have a good conversation with the others on your table. But the food was the best bit. Good choice, excellently prepared. The thing that really impressed me was the large number of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu. A huge thumbs up fro me for catering for people that can sometimes find it difficult. An excellent night out and we will definitely be back in the new year. Well done.

Went to the Cricket's Inn Acresford today for the first time, and how surprised was I. The place is warm, cosy, and very inviting. Tables are laid very professionally, which adds to the atmosphere of the pub. It is decorated well and very clean. Staff are friendly and accommodating, the regulars all seem very nice too. Toilets are clean, with nice soaps and hand cream. Parking is ample. Pub is well suited to wheelchair users and is dog friendly. I had the turkey dinner, which was very tasty, and we'll presented. Menu is good with plenty of options for different tastes and diets, bar is well stocked. An overall great experience will definitely be going back and will be recommending to my family and friends.

Great atmosphere, dogs welcome in the bar area. A pool table has been reinstated in the back, £1.00 a go. Two draught beers plus larger and cider. Menu is good pub grub for a fair price. I've eaten here once before, the food was great and having just a drink today I wished I was eating again. The Sunday roast looked fantastic. Nice atmosphere, didn't wait long to be served although they were busy. Feels clean and welcoming

Just had an excellent meal to celebrate my wife’s birthday. First visit this year but will definitely go again. Good menu, great food and very attentive staff. It’s a shame there wasn’t a fire in the large, feature (empty) fireplace in the main dining room.

We've driven past this pub wanting to go in for the past year, we finally did yesterday and it didn't disappoint! We shared the nacho and mezze platter sharers, along with the halloumi starter and a side of chips. Can't fault any of it, it all tasted amazing. We're veggie and the options for veggies and vegans are really good, especially compared to big corporate restaurants! 100% recommend, we'll be back for more (the Sunday lunch is definitely calling our names)!

Not too good today went few months ago was lovely today food was not great and they got all the bill wrong

Was very disappointed. Salad and mezza platters were swimming in oil. Far too much for our liking. The chips looked appetising but the flavour was cooking oil. Side salad was sent back as yet again far too much oil. The bacon on top of the burger was over cooked so it was inedible and hard, the cheese on top of the burger was just grated cheese, so effectively it was a cheese burger but cheese not what was expected for a cheese burger. The burger itself had taste but a bit over cooked. Made a suggestion that oils and salad dressing should be placed on the table so customers can help themselves to their preference. Totally 3 meals were sent back. This restaurant does not cater for vegetarians or vegans. Albeit it is dog friendly. A few small improvements could and will make it a reasonable place to eat.
