Stopped of here on the way back from a day out, very small pub offering food seems it’s used mainly by locals.

Lovely pub , great friendly staff and excellent food will be definitely returned when we are in the area.

I had the pleasure of staying over in our campervan while visiting the area . We received a very warm welcome...after a walk around the area we returned for a drink and food.. The bar is a lovely place to visit and the food was awesome...thank you chef ! Service was very good aswell.. great menu choices, it was difficult to choose as they have a great amount of choice. Needless to say I was so happy with my choice...food was great and presented first class...a massive thank you team for all your great warmth and welcome...go and visit folks this is a lovely place....we will be back soon I'm sure...thank you.... Atmosphere pleasant and friendly. Service was great, the food is of great quality and reasonably priced. Would recommend the Crickett burger, which was gorgeously messy. Would definitely recommend.

Went for the 2 pies for £25 day. Great selection of pies, very tasty and filled us up. I found room for the pecan pie though 😋 Other menu looked tempting too. Great value, friendly staff, although mains were a little slow in coming out. Will return.

Drove a short distance from Conkers to a wonderful little Pub. Home made food of the highest order. Wednesday pie day was a treat beautiful hand made pies. The prices are very reasonable with a very friendly service.

Lovely restaurant/pub. First class service (especially issey) . Food was excellent served hot and fresh. Deserts lovely and everything served promptly and with a can do attitude. Will def be back

Great hospitality & Service from Natalie and food was delicious. We were passing by and stopped for something to eat. We had squid as starters and Steaks as main they were cooked perfectly. Natalie was superb. She looked after us with professional and friendly approach and made sure everything was great. Highly recommended 👌

Visiting from Scotland, we are staying at Steam Mill Lodges nearby and the Cricketts Inn was on their recommended list. We booked and gave specialist dietary needs and they called on the day to check everything and give options the chef could offer around the Sunday roast. On arrival they were prepared and went over our needs again. The wait was a little longer than I expected, I was so hungry, I chased the staff (sorry) and the staff explained that the chef was being really careful. The wait was really worth it ! The food was brilliant. Our Irish daughter in law really likes her potato's and gave them 10 out of 10, I have to agree. The veg was cooked to perfection too, the sweet cabbage was lovely as was the chicken and Yorkshires. 4 of us had fantastic meals. I can't recommended this Inn highly enough and compliments to the chefs and kitchen team - gold star! Thank you to the whole team. Oh and they are dog friendly :-)

We visited on Mothers Day and the food was superb. The Sunday roast was perfect. It was my first visit in several years but I'll be back very soon.

The location is lovely and has the potential to be a really great place to eat. However, the venue seemed tired and in need of a refurb. The starter was far too big, nachos and detracted from the quality of the main. The lighting gave the impression of a canteen and the overall layout had a vibe from the 90's. If the brewery invested to make the most of the features and improvements to the furniture, it would bring the best from a lovely building. Get Gordon Ramsay in to redesign!!

Passing by, called in didn’t disappoint we ordered the steak a treat and it was delicious, as were the desserts. The service was good very polite young man was on hand to get anything we needed.

Just popped in for a coffee while on a ride out on my motorbike. Had a lovely drink in very pleasant surroundings, but a quick look at the menu made me make a swift exit at those prices. The chap at next table looked to have a really nice burger and chips so you pays your money and make your choice.

Such a lovely place to eat. Delicious food, really lovely staff. Whats more the Tea was loose leaf and served in a pot, that is rare and was very nice. Thankyou.👍👍👍

Roast beef Sunday lunch delicious. Unfortunately desserts let them down. When asked what the cheesecake of the day, we were very excited to taste it (blood orange and plum)! Unfortunately when it came it was a huge wedge of supposedly vanilla cheesecake with a little fruit compote on top. Cheesecake clearly bought in! You'll be pleased to know it tasted like eating a block of margarine and has put me off cheesecake for life!

The food was fine, Shocking waitress service and they opened the doors, letting the cold air into clear the resteraunt. We will not be visiting again

Will not be returning or recommending. Awful experience considering it was for my 50th birthday. We could have gone and spent our money anywhere but picked here as thought it would be a lovely experience but it was not! 16 people were spread across four tables of four, not together. Placed in a side room with football on the tv and zero atmosphere. It was a horrible environment. Starters were awful. Mains were ok. Desserts were fine. The whole place felt like more like a working men’s pub than a restaurant. Really rubbish end to my 50th birthday celebrations! Thanks

Great Time At The Cricketts Inn With Our Friends And Family. Came To Celebrate My Mums Birthday. The Team Couldn’t Do Enough For us, They Even Played Happy Birthday On The Speaker Whilst Bringing Out The Cake We Brought In. Would Highly Recommend.

What a great little destination pub. Just driving by after a day at Twycross Zoo and decided to stop. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Managed to squeeze us in for a table. Place was packed out but couldn’t fault a thing. Service was quick and the food was great and reasonably priced. Great little find.

Come for Sunday lunch yesterday service was incredible and the food was epic couldn’t fault anything would highly recommend can’t wait to go back again 5*

Very accommodating. Recently had all my teeth removed (not recommended if you can avoid it) and they blended the cooked ingredients for me so that I could consume the dish, which was delicious.

Nice pub that's just across the border with a car park. Painted walls and clean appearance when arriving. Table for 10 with most gone for the Pie and veg option of choice. Starters and desserts on menu. Good selection of drinks on offer. Perfect place for a familx get together. Saved in my ideal for Sundax lunch list.

A great place to eat, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Plus - more than happy to take dogs anywhere inside - perfect! What made the experience was a dog bowl of water bought out for the dogs - fantastic!!

Went today and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely and warm with nice fire, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, excellent meal which was well presented. Having mobility problems I found it easy to access and would be suitable for someone in a wheelchair.

The staff were utterly fantastic thoughtful accommodating and sincere. The food was great and was served in a timely manner. The whole place was warm both in temperature and in good will. Will I ever go back oh yes definitely.

Nice family post xmas late lunch. Lovely festive feel in a rustic country pub. Sampled some lovely ale & a very enjoyable lunch. Nice atmosphere & well worth a visit.

Really nice pies .... although they plated them on the wrong plates so my wife and I just had half of each others pies. Luckily both were super nice.

Went for dinner on Christmas day the food was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for you they where amazing nothing was too much trouble would highly recommend it

We booked mid week, only 30 minutes before arriving. I'm so glad they could fit us in as it was a busy pre Christmas evening. This was our first visit to the Cricketts Inn and will definitely not be our last. The whole place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was exceptional and the service was speedy, attentive and friendly.

The last time we went here we weren't very impressed, but it's under new management so we thought we'd give it another go. And, I'm so glad we did. The service from the staff was great, they were friendly and helpful without hovering around. The atmosphere was good, the table ate far enough apart that you don't feel crowded, and the background noise was quiet enough that you could have a good conversation with the others on your table. But the food was the best bit. Good choice, excellently prepared. The thing that really impressed me was the large number of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu. A huge thumbs up fro me for catering for people that can sometimes find it difficult. An excellent night out and we will definitely be back in the new year. Well done.

Went to the Cricket's Inn Acresford today for the first time, and how surprised was I. The place is warm, cosy, and very inviting. Tables are laid very professionally, which adds to the atmosphere of the pub. It is decorated well and very clean. Staff are friendly and accommodating, the regulars all seem very nice too. Toilets are clean, with nice soaps and hand cream. Parking is ample. Pub is well suited to wheelchair users and is dog friendly. I had the turkey dinner, which was very tasty, and we'll presented. Menu is good with plenty of options for different tastes and diets, bar is well stocked. An overall great experience will definitely be going back and will be recommending to my family and friends.

Great little country pub serving good quality home cooked food at reasonable prices the staff were very friendly and helpful, a good selection of beverages were also available. A good evening was had by all 👍

Popped in with my wife and 2 friends. Service was top notch, the pub was busy but not over crowded, the food was AMAZING. This place has been hit and miss until the most recent change of business ownership. These guys are NAILING it!

Since being taken over this year by different owners, the food is excellent! Couldn't fault it. Reasonable price and Jade and the staff were lovely and helpful. Recommended.

Brilliant service we arrived on Friday evening seated us straight away, food was lovely and fresh and service 5* ee also returned for dinner on Sunday very yummy indeed! gingerbread cheesecake with honeycomb ice cream was 👌

Great atmosphere, dogs welcome in the bar area. A pool table has been reinstated in the back, £1.00 a go. Two draught beers plus larger and cider. Menu is good pub grub for a fair price. I've eaten here once before, the food was great and having just a drink today I wished I was eating again. The Sunday roast looked fantastic. Nice atmosphere, didn't wait long to be served although they were busy. Feels clean and welcoming

Just had an excellent meal to celebrate my wife’s birthday. First visit this year but will definitely go again. Good menu, great food and very attentive staff. It’s a shame there wasn’t a fire in the large, feature (empty) fireplace in the main dining room.

8 of us came here for our monthly meeting couldn't fault anything brilliant meal and plenty for me really enjoyed it

We've driven past this pub wanting to go in for the past year, we finally did yesterday and it didn't disappoint! We shared the nacho and mezze platter sharers, along with the halloumi starter and a side of chips. Can't fault any of it, it all tasted amazing. We're veggie and the options for veggies and vegans are really good, especially compared to big corporate restaurants! 100% recommend, we'll be back for more (the Sunday lunch is definitely calling our names)!

Not too good today went few months ago was lovely today food was not great and they got all the bill wrong

Was very disappointed. Salad and mezza platters were swimming in oil. Far too much for our liking. The chips looked appetising but the flavour was cooking oil. Side salad was sent back as yet again far too much oil. The bacon on top of the burger was over cooked so it was inedible and hard, the cheese on top of the burger was just grated cheese, so effectively it was a cheese burger but cheese not what was expected for a cheese burger. The burger itself had taste but a bit over cooked. Made a suggestion that oils and salad dressing should be placed on the table so customers can help themselves to their preference. Totally 3 meals were sent back. This restaurant does not cater for vegetarians or vegans. Albeit it is dog friendly. A few small improvements could and will make it a reasonable place to eat.

Thanks to Jade, Gareth, and the rest of staff for a lovely meal, food was served really quickly and came out piping hot, also dog friendly, nachos where nice big portion with lots of fresh toppings.

Really nice food for pub prices. The chef clearly knows what they're doing as does the landlord as the beer is really well kept. We'll certainly be revisiting.

We planned a large surprise birthday meal here in September 23. The pub communicated throughout the planning and we’re very accommodating. We had the garden room area to ourselves which was great especially as we had children in the party. Food was very good, desserts even better! The staff were friendly and very accommodating to our requests and needs. Definitely recommend a visit.

Four of us each had different meals from the Sunday lunch menu. No complaints from any of us, we all really enjoyed it. Nice that cauliflower cheese is included in the price which is very reasonable considering the price. Will definitely return.

Reasonable pub with reasonable pub food. There's good options for the kids and a reasonable range of food but nothing which makes it stand out.

Excellent food with fast service and lovely staff. The atmosphere was perfect and gave the place a good vibe. I really enjoyed the food and can recommend the chicken pepper mayonnaise sandwich and the prawn cocktail. Huge range of food and drinks. An altogether lovely restaurant.

An excellent Sunday Lunch for 15 (including one Gluten Free) - large tasty portions with a good choice of starters, mains and desserts and good larger and wine.

Had pie chips were burnt. Veg was to be buttery it was water. Husband had fish was more batter than fish. Would not recommend. Will not be going again. How a chef can send out this kind of food cannot cLl himself a chef.

Superb Sunday lunch excellent service probably one of the best Sunday lunch ever

In and out in 30 minutes. The staff are helpful, polite, and attentive. Saying that, we had booked a table in advance and were given the option of two tables, which were at the bar, not in the back where everyone else had a sit-down meal. The atmosphere at the bar was a typical pub pub, nothing special, and was completely empty towards the end of our meal. The lack of noise meant the whole thing was kind of awkward. The food was pretty average, the chips weren't crispy, and the fish was small compared to other places we've eaten. It was pretty oily, so some parts were soggy.

We visited them on Monday (03.07.2023.) evening. Small family with 2 small kids. Positive: Parking easy, no headache. Entrance great! They also got garden area with roof now. Staff spot on. They there when you need them. The food was really-really good! Crispy chicken burger with chips and so on. It was very nice .Since the owner changed, the food is bang on. Negative point: The waitress could wait until we sit done and then take the drink order. I mean we were standing around the table and she was asking for drinks order straight away. - but its nota biggie at all. Still 5 star,. Happy to re-visit them again!

Food was ok and served quickly. Fish and chips. The batter on the fish was thicker than the fish inside. Lovely chips but crushed peas were so salty we couldn't eat them. No other diners in there although some people were sat outside drinking. Quite expensive so disappointed.

Good sized beer garden with shaded areas, classic pub feel inside, lots of drink choices, yummy food, friendly staff and plenty of parking what more could you want.

What others have said about food swimming (and I mean swimming) in butter is no exaggeration as you'll see from my photos. I had the seabass with mushroom parpedelle and although it tasted nice, the sheer amount of butter made me start to feel sick. When I complained, I just had "the chef apologises", no reduction in price, in fact I noticed they'd charged more for my mum's meal than it stated on the menu! Really disappointed with the food and won't be returning.

I hadn't been in here for so long (about 20 years at least) I wasn't sure what to expect.... I wasn't disappointed. The outside of the pub was more or less as I remember it with a massive field that could do with a trim. Maybe some charging pods would be a smart idea? On entry the pub was clean and welcoming, and we got greeted very nicely on entry - with a smile and hello. The drink selection was great and served as should be if I could have written the spec. The menu though is (physically) large (oversized) which is a little bit old hat, but does hint at gastro pub.... Until you laminate it and make it feel like a canteen menu. Small thing but better to leave things none laminated so that guests can experience the texture of the paper if thats the feeling you're aiming for. The food was hot fresh and tasty all round, with only small niggles. The pastry on the pie was overbaked, the peppercorn sauce way too thick with entirely too many peppercorns running through it. However overall, really delicious for all 4 of us. The till needs sorting out so that the bills are either itemised or not - when it came it looked really dodgy with multiple button presses and none related descriptors. Overall a really pleasant experience with lovely attentive service and good quality food and drink. Just a couple of tips to make it a perfect experience. A great choice after all these years - and if this is what I can expect, we will be back.
