Crib Box Cornish Pasties in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Their Cornish pasties were made the traditional way and NOT full of minced gristle like ginsters but with chunks of tender stake and fresh veg with a lovely flaky pastry. Such a shame it's not in existence anymore .

As of 15/02/2020 Crib Box is now closed down. I had been eating from here since my school days, well over 10 years ago. I remember as far back as to when I was paying 80p for a Bacon & Cheese Parcel; those days are long gone. I take my hat off to the gentleman who always served so politely and caring with a smile; that would easily entice you to come back time after time again, if not be for the amazing food, but for the kind nature of proper nice and caring human to human interaction. Sadly I can't say the same for the lady, always felt she didn't want to see you, or serve you, everything seemed a hassle, always sighing as if everything was a problem for her, I remember when someone was paying via Apple Pay and she let out a long drawn sigh. Very sad to see them go, however me and a few colleagues stopped using Crib Box as our 'local' pasty shop some while ago, simply due to lack of customer service from the lady . We would easily spend £50 a week there between us. Such a shame

My first Crib Box for about 20 years. I used to cut up all the meat back then... It was a very nice pasty, thick and full of tender meat and vegetables. Well priced too.. I guess the only reason I do not go regularly is because it can be a challenge to park near the shop. Its worth finding a place...

These Cornish pasties are really good definitely traditional and competitively priced. Staff are always cheerful

Stopped off here before heading home from our holiday in Cornwall. Great pasties and saffron buns are a must try!

We have been going there for years as the Pasties are consistently excellent. Freshly made with fresh ingredients and baked each day, worth going out of your way to get one !

Very good Pasty (best in St Austell with a little seasoning.Only thing you need to take a passenger to collect your goods no parking.

Read the reviews and at the end of our holiday decided to take a couple of pasties home for tea tried them Joe not being nasty the pastry and filling were really nice it was just that there was far too much pepper for our liking Sorry

Good honest tasty pasties and buns etc Hard working experienced bakers, husband and wife team I think. Seem to sell everything they bake and also do good prices on frozen items.

Called in for some pasties for lunch. Really delicious. Also had some yeast buns .. they were the real thing! Can't answer the questions below as this is not a restaurant. You just nip in to buy pasties, pies, etc etc. All freshly made on the day.

Never a disappointment, good quality recognisable ingredients , evenly seasoned (no over salty mouthfuls) with a light hand on the pepper pot and baked perfectly. A delicious, hot lunch to take to nearby Charlestown for an easy picnic.

These have been the best in Cornwall for the past 7 years. Hope they have some left next time I visit now I've let everyone know how good they are!

I'm lucky Crib Box is on my doorstep. In the many years I've eaten from there I've never had any complaints. First thing in the morning the smell of freshly baked goods is pleasant. The pasties are some of the best I've eaten and are always jam-packed with ingredients, you certainly wouldn't starve! They sell saffron and yeast buns which are always tasty. They also sell other baked goods that may take your fancy. Prices are more than reasonable. The place is always looking clean and there is a 5 star food hygiene label on display. If ever you're in the St Austell area, you should make every effort to try their goods.

La calidad es consistentemente alto con empanadas de ser horneado en lotes relativamente pequeños. Gama de tamaños de cóctel para grandes que le impugnar cualquier apetito. I have eaten many many pasties but these are the best. The quality of meat is fantastic and adds flavour to the pasty rather than it being overpowered with pepper as many are. The pastry is perfect holding together and not crumbling all over you.

Proper job Cornish pasties which puts the more well-known, mass-produced brands in the shade! Really enjoyed these - the pastry was good and the filling was plentiful!!

Excellent pasties, tried loads of pasties while in Cornwall and this was clearly the best packed with nice chunky pieces of meat and plenty of veg along with first class pastry, service was top notch and the prices very fair.

After a disastrous meal at another St Austell café, we called in here for a couple of pasties. I use this shop whenever I am in the area for work and for my money, it is consistently the best pasty shop in this part of Cornwall.The shop is tiny but service is fast and polite and the pasties just wonderful, always piping hot, peppery, and packed full of the traditional fillings of beef skirt, potatoes, onions and swede. It's cheap too, half the price of some places that sell far inferior pasties.Parking can be an issue as it sits on a busy main road but wherever you manage to park, it's well worth the walk.

Have to say the Crib Box is the best place to go to get a proper Cornish Pasty - fresh, tasty and good value tooIt's a pasty takeaway not a restaurant but don't let that stop you goingWould I recommend? Absolutely I would and I do go back, a lot!

the shop you may have to ask where are you.............. but once found never forgotten the young lady that served me was informative and very helpful they have various sizes of meat or veg Pasties and the large is very large ........offers other good foods which end up going home with you .....

Always freshly made on the premises. Very good value for money. Highly recommend. Not restricted to just Cornish Pasties but they also make Cornish Saffron Buns and cakes and other pastries.
