I’ve been bringing my daughter here since she was 3. She’s 13 now & more concerned with skateboards & punk than unicorns, but the Creative Biscuit experience remains blissfully unchanged. The team are always unfailingly lovely & the snacks & coffee 1st rate. Hoping for a few more years of ceramic painting joy yet.

I was under the impression from previous visits (and a trial work shift I did there) that I could pay for a painting session but not necessarily have to purchase the item & pay for glazing on top once I was done as staff could just wash off my design & reuse the item. I’ve been coming to creative biscuit for years, am a loyal customer & this was always the case. On my trial shift I physically washed off peoples designs… however apparently this wasn’t the case anymore. Tim was extremely rude on the phone to me for misunderstanding, apparently I damaged his items & am now out of pocket. Such rubbish customer service for a previously happy place of mine, feel very disappointed at a place I’ve spent a lot of money at in the past. Would recommend creative biscuit consider just a painting option at a cheaper rate as I’m sure I’m not the only one who would enjoy trying out designs for cheaper without clogging up their house with items.

Needed a few extra minutes to finish a project and even though there was a spare table which I couldve used for a few minutes they were blunt and unhelpful. I understand there's a time slot but I needed a few minutes to finish, lost out on future business now, will find another company who will be more helpful and more kind.

Tim was rude when we arrived, rude when asking about a space with more light due to visual impairment, he was short tempered and it made the whole visit uncomfortable. I asked for pencils and he was short with us. I am unsure if it was because we are minorities but it definitely didn’t feel like a safe space.

I took my grandchildren to creative biscuit in the school holiday. I wanted to do something with them and wanted something that would suit a 10 year old and a 4 year old. It was the perfect few hours and worth every Penny. We had lunch and homemade cakes and hot chocolate which was all very good! The staff are so friendly and helpful too. We picked up our pottery and are so pleased to have something to remember the day. Going to book to go back for a Christmas pottery session. Lisa Tsindides

Tea and homemade cakes! A really lovely cuppa with a really chocolatey brownie that was soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside! The Victoria sponge cake was delish too! This little cafe has a lot of character and cute pottery items all around! Tea was hot and filling and the coffee was wholesome. Loved our visit today. Thank you

I've always wanted to go to crafty cafe's such as this but felt awkward with no kids, as I only see people try it on hen dos and parties with adult groups. However, I noticed that Creative Biscuit twice a month had late-night painting sessions, open until 10 pm, which I thought would be great since it's past most kids' bedtimes and gave it a go. The staff was friendly, everything was explained clearly, and myself and the boyfriend had a good time chatting and painting.

Nice cafe but poor service - I don’t think I will ever return to this place. The decor is pretty nice I guess

Really nice environment to sit in, but when choosing ceramics to paint, I picked up a small vase next to a sign that said ‘small vase £12.50’. After painting and asking for the bill, I was billed £20, as it was apparently an oil container (despite not having a stopper). I pointed out that the pricing was a bit misleading, and the lady serving at the till was really unpleasant and impatient about it- no apology, no attempt to understand or check (despite the fact that I pointed to the sign and other bottles) and just kept demanding £20 for this tiny vase, which I paid. I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend.

Good fun painting for both adults and kids. It would be better to know the full price at the start. The glazing charge at the end was a little shock. Even with this it is a good morning entertainment and the pottery will be a memory once we collect it. The pottery has to be fired so can’t be collected immediately.

Get a coffee and paint a little piece of pottery. A fun couple of hours. I've done it with my kids (one of which is 20)! and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. You leave it there to be fired and go back a week later to collect. I would recommend for a coffee and cake with friends or kids.

Hosted a friend’s surprise baby shower here. The staff were so accomodating and generous and made our afternoon really enjoyable and special. We had the afternoon tea and the sandwhich selection, scones and cakes were all super fresh and delicious! Fab for kids and adults! Will definitely be coming back!

We arrived to find our table ready for our ceramic painting experience and the girls in the shop were helpful in explaining how it all worked. We had sandwiches and tea all of which were okay. The tea was a bag in a cup with milk in another cup. One cup was cracked and the soft boiled egg we ordered was hard, but they replaced it without fuss.

I've only been once, I reckon it's the best cup of coffee in Woodford. And if you're creative you can decorate stuff and get it glazed.

great relaxed atmosphere, fun painting, VERY reasonably priced food and drink (you know when you go to brick lane and they charge you a fiver for a toastie? Creative Biscuit don't do that.) i'm so happy this place is a part of south woodford community.

Lovely staff who can't do enough to help. They are so patient with kids and with useless artists like myself! A great concept, really keeps the kids entertained while you catch up with a friend over a tummy coffee and homemade brownie :)

This is the third time I have visited and I always have a tremendous amount of fun. I came here with my other half and there is a lovely ambience about this place. Whether you are young or old, there is plenty of fun to be had by all ages. The staff are very friendly and accommodating which is important to note. On entering you have a selection of ceramics to paint - cups, plates, money boxes etc. There is also a nice small selection of food and drinks. I really recommend this place for multiple occasions including a great date venue

Took all children and got some baby prints done too . Staff were notably friendly and helpful and the finished projects were actually fantastastic, even those loving muddied by the toddler . Coffee was excellent too. The fact they glaze the final products mean they are more aesthetically pleasing and durable.

I visited here with my 5 year old daughter and wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out to be awesome, the guy working (Tim I believe) was very welcoming and relaxing. The ceramic animals (£10 each) and plates, mugs ($7.50- £10 each) can all be painted and personalised for a small £4 glazing fee. Tim showed us how to use the paints and what to do and then we got painting! Whilst my daughter painted I ordered a lovely cappuccino and a very nicely made panini but there's a huge range of delicious food on offer. One difficult person came into the shop just to be a pain, but Tim was extremely calm and asked the individual to leave, doing well to keep his cool. Even this didn't spoil the experience. All in all a great and very inexpensive day that was enjoyed by one relaxed dad and a very happy 5 year old! Well done guys keep up the good work!

Just had a really lovely morning at Creative Biscuit. The place was sparkling clean and the owners were very welcoming and friendly to both me and my young daughter. They helped her choose her own ceramic to paint and were very patient showing her how to prepare it for painting and helped her with the trickier bits. I had a really good quality coffee and left feeling very relaxed! So nice to see a local business making such an effort with all that they do!

April 2015: Kids party booked for two hours, staff very unwelcoming from the beginning to the end, they cleaned the table with Dettol spray while kids were still there eating food (and we still were within our two booked hours), this is because they had another party coming in soon after ours. They did not allow even 5 minutes for cleaning between the two parties... They served the cake (purchased from them) with no plates or forks, they just provided the knife and some paper napkins. The cake had a bitter taste of baking & soda powders and the sandwiches we had were dry and unappealing. We all went back home smelling of cigarettes and we are still wondering how! The painting activity was nice but the space for kids to play was full of dirty old toys. They should use a bit of Dettol over there too! We really hoped this place was a nice one to return to, but definitely no no no.

It all looks OK but service is poor and the bar food served is cheap frozen food at prices that should require a far better quality. There are far better options in London

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.
