Crave Grill Fish & Chips in Southampton

Food is rubbish I had fish and chips discusting I threw the fish away. Never again worst fish and chips I've ever had. I don't think foreign staff no how to cook fish and chips, mushy peas

Food too fatty, greasy and bad stomach from the chicken I think. Needs a visit from health and safety investigators I imagine.

We got a takeaway from here a week ago. It was absolutely disgusting. We ordered 2 battered sausages which were oily and soft not crispy. I got cheesy chips which were full of oil and hard and potatoey in the middle. My boyfriend ordered normal chips. I don’t know what was in the food but it made him be sick multiple times in the night. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Ordered a halloumi Berger and chips. Burger was lovely, well cooked and presented. Chips were horrible, very greasy and potato used was full of bad bits. Barely 80% edible. Threw them away. Sadly the second time this has happened in the last 3 wks . Need to sort your chips as not good enough.

Do not order from this place, had fruit flies in my meal. No accountability or apologies disgusting people

Don't bother anymore, this is the chips you get of you order takeaway. The response is "we changed supplier " this response given last year also. How can anyone eat this kind of food? Do the workers not think as they put the food?had this in ramdhan also when fasting and called told the same excuse. When they first opened was great, now even the workers cant seem to give their name if you ask for a manager! instead give me attitude. Awful. Not recommending or ordering again. Used to recommend colleagues here shamefully.

I purchase the usual battered sausage, cod fish, large chips and all the items were very oil unfortunately but had decent taste. I would recommend for their variety of options but better options in city centre.

I have had a few orders from here and always enjoyed them,however I ordered chips last night and when I got home,they were absolutely vile and dark brown and burnt,went in the bin.i cannot believe they thought they were good enough to serve to somebody.wont be going back for chips.

Only takes cash at the moment, empty on the Saturday night but still had a long wait for a battered sausage and chips due to all the deliveroo orders being done Chose sausage as fish was too expensive, not great chips, batter soft and sausage taste average.

Four people didn't feel well after take away kebabs tummy trubs.

Today, for the first time I went to this shop. I ordered a small donar kebab. They microwaved my kebab and salad together. The food was horrendous not going anymore.

If I'm after a kebab, I only have the shish (lamb or chicken) - these are always nicely cooked, flavoursome, & come with plentiful amount of fresh salad & chips. Also had their fish & chips - always been lovely. They also deliver to locally to home - bonus!

I'm just visiting but I think I'm going to have to move to Southampton. Peri Peri chicken is superb. Great value, freshly cooked. Just fab

Called at 9.30 pm, noticed that It Was closing at 10.00, expecting that chips etc would be soggy. The very pleasant staff said it will take a few mins. Pleasantly surprised to see that the fish and chips were being freely fried. What a superb portion of proper fish and chips. We could not finish them on the evening so the following day we heated up the remains. They were as good the next day. Will definitely call back on our next visit to Southampton.

Me and my partner have not stopped ordering from this place during lockdown so much so we're rolling to the door to collect our food. I mean it wouldn't be a lockdown if we were staying slim 😂 Anyway this place is amazing, really well priced and never had any complaints. OK maybe one. Your chilli sauce is too hot to be splashed over a whole kebab hence why we always order a pot of it. Kill our taste buds ourselves and not at your mercy. We love the fact that all meals are served with proper chip shop chips and not soggy undercooked fries like most places. Keep up the good work. I'm sure you'll be delivering to us soon 👍🏻

This is the real deal fish n chip takeaway guys. Try it once your keep coming back again and again like me. Their chips are the best in Southampton and the fish is fresh and crunchy batter, so nice! Dont listen to the fake reviews, probably competitors. Give it a try !

Greasy chips, small portions and very over priced.

Solo tengo que revisar el pescado y las papas fritas como muy sabroso. Pescado bien rebozado y recién cocinado. No empapado ni demasiado cocido. Buen valor

Hemos comido pescado y patatas fritas de Crave varias veces, ya que está de camino a casa desde varios lugares. Ahora hemos prometido no volver a ir allí ya que cada vez nos ha decepcionado la comida. El pescado se pone directamente de la freidora en la bolsa y está muy grasoso en el fondo. Las patatas fritas son comestibles, pero no mejores que cualquier otro chippy mediocre. Las porciones son grandes, pero eso solo significa que terminará sintiéndose hinchado y lleno de grasa. Los precios son bastante altos - 7 - 8 para pescado y patatas fritas.

Good food. Fast delivery. Deep fried chicken in batter is amazing. Great size portions. Piri piri chicken is lush too. Def recommend

Absolutely POOR AND DO NOT RECOMMEND! Ordered about 6 kebabs And 2 of which had mould on the pitta breads, phoned to let them know and their response was “what do you want us to do” Refused to cooperate and apologise and was VERY RUDE! Hung up on me too.

Wouldn’t ever order again. Wouldn’t recommend too anyone either. Food came for 8 people and there were mould pitta breads!! Then when we rang too tell them about the mouldy pitta breads the manager asked us ‘what do you want too do about it?’ And was completely abruptly rude. Pay for crave if you want mouldy food.

Myself and family have used this fish and chip shop for some time and i have noticed that the quality of the food has been in a steady decline. When ordering this week I was asked if I could pay by cash instead of card and was asked to walk to the nearest cash point. i advised that this would not be acceptable and they then said their card machine was out. After refusing again the machine appeared from under the counter. The chips were cold and had to be reheated. Sorry but you need to up your gain if you want to keep your customers

Always great fish and chips! Fish always beautifully fresh and crispy, and chips always cooked well. We come from Poole and visit my parents in Chilworth, and we'd never use another fish & chip shop in Southampton! Merry Christmas Crave!

Very tasty meal. The burgers are very meaty and you get a decent portion of chips.

Loads to choose on the menu. Really quick, we waited literally 5 minutes. The chips were not the best I've ever had but still good. Would go again.

Quick delivery, burger was perfect. However the problem was with the fish and chips. Ordered spiced batter. Didn't taste any spice at all. The chips were half cooked.

Fuera de nuestro camino, pero el menú tenía algo para todos nuestros gustos. (Podríamos haber tenido entrega pero la recogida fue más rápida). Mi marido tenía el pescado pero él es un kebab si alguna vez hay uno que se ofrece, y lo disfruté tanto que nos pidió que regresáramos la semana siguiente para poder comer pescado y papas fritas nuevamente. Mi hijo tenía la mega hamburguesa y me quedé impresionado con ella y tuve una hamburguesa de pollo piri piri (una delicia). Las patatas fritas no eran tan buenas la segunda vez, pero aún mejor que nuestro chippy local. No hace falta decir que nos han hecho clientes leales.

Fish and chips always excellent and freshly cooked. And they have pea fritters available which is a bonus! Be prepared with cash as their card-reader is not always available.

A very dissapointed customer never to return. Cold doner meat with fat cold fat still on it obviously not fresh and chips that are hollow I woudnt even feed it to a hungry stray dog. Try the pizza place which does pretty much the same menu a few doors up to save your dissapointment

Got to be the worst donner kebab ever cold (had cold fat still on it so obviously not fresh) tastless and thrown together and as for the chips i assume they are potato as yet to find any edible ones. Never will i eat from here again try the pizza place a few doors up instead.

I’m honestly probably one of the fussiest people ever, always worry about places hygiene and where I’m getting food from but I can say that I absolutely love this place and always order from here when I don’t fancy cooking. I never ever used to like kebabs AT ALL until I tried one from here and it was amazing!! 100% recommend to everyone.

The most greasy fish batter ever! Literally when you pressed it the oil dripped out from the batter. The fish was decent and chips good. Decent portion but totally let down. Friendly polite staff.

Chips were piping hot! Also they fry meat products separate from vegetarian. Which is a positive!

Convenient for a quick, filling meal, the fish portion was a good size and in crispy batter. Plenty of chips but disappointing soggy.

These were the best fish and chips I've had here. Nice thick fish (large cod) and chips. Both freshly cooked and not too fatty. Standard prices but above standard quality.

Oreo cookie milkskakes are great, food always fresh

If I would give 0 stars I could. Has 'SHAKES' in fluorescent lighting in the window but no milkshakes to offer! Came in to buy 3 milkshake, so I ask the boy at the counter who was slow to help, even though it was empty, if I could get 3 chocolate milkshakes. He proceeded to offer an Oreo milkshake which sounded perfect. He then asked his manager, who was frying chips whilst on the phone if we have any milkshakes. The manager stopped talking on the phone to give me a firm 'No.', no apology or explanation as to why. Very rude.

This is the best take away I found in this town. The peri peri chicken is so delicious and the portions are big. The guys working in there are so friendly and the place looks spotless. I can't recommend it enough.

I was looking forward to this place opening but unfortunately it's nothing special. I'll give it another try but I was unimpressed with the greasy food served with little care.

Really good fish and chips. Best I know of in the local area.
