Came for dinner as a group of 5, perfect evening all round. Very friendly restaurant and welcoming staff, food was amazing and the haggis scotch egg is just a legend. Would highly recommend

23/02/25 – not busy. Beef starter – terribly sweet only managed half – did explain to waiter who advised he’d mention to chef but no further feedback and was exchanged. I’d have liked to speak to the chef about it. Duck – potato rostis excellent. Duck was fine. Sauce and veg a bit of a mess. Small plates good. Kids fish and chips good. Desserts – cheesecake was nice. Staff pleasant (didn’t get to speak to the chef). It was ok – but I couldn’t recommend it. Left a tip as wifes and kids was good. Small tip is mine mostly wasn’t. Ps – most folks wont expect orange cheese on garlic bread unless you put it on the menu.

On an impromptu visit to Crieff today we recalled how much we had enjoyed our last meal here. On the off-chance of getting a table we called in and were delighted we did so. We were warmly welcomed and kindly shuffling the bookings and tables we were soon cosily settled in a window seat. Our drinks were delivered within five minutes and our selected mains of venison burger and haddock and chips followed shortly. They were both well-cooked, piping hot and delicious. They were followed by a superb desert of Chocolate pave, honeycomb, raspberry and ice cream of such generosity we were glad we opted to share! All in all the ambience, service, quality of food offer outstanding value and we certainly won’t be leaving it so long to return. We can appreciate why it is busy and promise to try and book next time. Thanks!

What a smashing meal we had tonight (21/2) as we cashed in on a Christmas gift voucher. This was our second visit - first was lunch a couple of weeks ago - and both meals have been excellent! The food is quite exceptional and the steak is perfectly cooked to YOUR taste as we found tonight. The menu is not the largest but there is plenty of variety with options, too, for most diets. Excellent chef, service & bartista!

Excellent food. I’ve been here twice now and both times enjoyed my meal. Fish was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and calm.

Just excellent! Went a couple of times on a visit to Crieff and was amazed at just how good the food is in this unassuming and quiet wee place. Venison was amazing as was the roast duck breast. Sticky toffee pudding and pave desserts were divine. Special shout out to Jake who was our waiter, and was both knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Food is really good but service is frankly terrible. The server who thinks he's Jimmy Carr needs a reality check he's not funny he's just straight up rude to customers. I didn't say anything at the time since I was trying to have a nice lunch with my friends but honestly that was disgusting behaviour on your servers part

We visited twice during our holiday. The staff were so welcoming and lovely and particularly great with the kids. Perfect atmosphere and wonderful food. Thanks so much all of you and the food is divine. The Irn Bru beef in particular! The only suggestion would be to add a small portion of veg to the kids dishes, peas or sweetcorn or beans. Cheap to add but would elevate the kid options.

Came here for a family dinner on Hogmanay and was the perfect place to see out 2024! The food was unbelievable and such great value. The service was first class - all the waiters were so friendly especially to our two kids which really made their night! 10/10. Would recommend to anyone looking for great place to dine when in Crieff.

I was genuinely impressed by the food at this restaurant, both in taste and presentation. Having been repeatedly let down by restaurants/cafés in Perth, I had almost given up hope of finding quality dining in the area. However, by pure chance, we discovered Craobh Kroov, and I placed my order with some skepticism. When the food arrived, I was immediately struck by the thoughtful presentation—clearly the work of someone passionate about their craft. After the first bite, it became evident that the flavors surpassed even the stunning visuals. My compliments to the chef and the attentive waiting staff for transforming what began as a random visit into such a delightful experience. I am already looking forward to returning soon!

Beautiful mains ordered and a trio of desserts with drinks. All food was fantastic, service was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered chicken breast with haggis Bon Bon, Venison and chicken burger for my son. A great wee place and reasonably priced.

We liked it so much we came right back the day after! Small plates are excellent, loads of flavour and generous portions. The prawns and crispy beef were our favourites. Amazing little restaurant, had the best duck I've ever had there! Sweet potato fries and steak where also lovely, the accompanying sauces are to die for! I knocked over my nearly finished drink and our server was straight on it and even brought me another drink, fantastic service and food! Would highly recommend this place

What a gem this place is. Super friendly staff, incredible food, great atmosphere and fantastic prices. We came down here to eat after discovering that Crieff Hydro has turned into a dump in the last 12 months and so glad we did. The food was really, really special. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re up Crieff way!

We were 8 days in our trip and had visited about a dozen different restaurants. We had seen at least 10,000 sheep. Not a single menu had mutton, a lamb chop, nothing. UNTIL we found Kroov! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! You made my wife’s trip. We didn’t have reservations and you let us in anyway. The food was FANTASTIC!! Service was FANTASTIC!! Highly recommend

Absolutely AMAZING meal! What a total gem. We ordered the crispy beef and halloumi fries to start and had the duck and rump of lamb for our mains. We couldn't fault anything about the meal or night. Seriously, I'll be itching to come back here the next time we're in Crieff. Brilliant atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. Highly highly recommend! They also cater to dietary requirements. The menu clearly marks gluten free, vegetarian and vegan but can also cater for other requirements.

Best place to dine out in Crieff. The food and service were amazing. Highly recommend. They are dog friendly. However, they have a 3 bark rule. So, We opted to leave our dog at home. Food was immensely tasty and cooked perfectly. We had the crispy irn bru beef starter...omg!!! Delicious. We had the Venison and Duck for our mains, cooked, and presented perfectly. Dessert also very good. We had a chocolate tart and the lemon meringue tart. We also took some of the macaroon home. All very nice!!

Went for dinner on Monday night whilst staying in Crieff for couple of nights and would recommend this place to everyone. We all enjoyed our meals, Steaks, Surf & Turf, Venison & chicken and all perfectly presented. The service was excellent and restaurant was full. Definitely book ahead to avoid disappointment!

We called in for coffees, hot chocolates and taster desserts. Very wise and clever that they market as a cafe, a bar and a restaurant. Seems they do cater to all three categories which hopefully brings in enough business. I liked this place a lot even though we didn't stay long.

Have been to CRAOBH with family three times will not return bread was stale..be aware check your food before you eat expected better shall not recommend.

We went to the kroov based on excellent ratings with high expectations. The quality of the meals as well as service exceeded the expectation. We went there twice in 3 days and it was just mind blowingly good. They have a creative chef with high standards and I am sure it is hardly possible to leave unsatisfied. Thanks to the team and highest compliments to the kitchen.

Lovely find in the heart of Crieff and within walking distance of our hotel. Food was great and staff were lovely. Very attentive and looked after us well. Desserts were fab- waiter recommended the ton mess cheesecake and it was delicious! Cocktails also were lovely! Great food and great service

Nice restaurant located in the centre of Creiff. The food was excellent, we enjoyed the scotch egg & crispy scottish beef for starters, followed by monkfish scampi & a venison burger, all were very tasty. There is also a good selection of beer, cocktails & wine. Staff were friendly and attentative, our only complaint was that service was a bit fast. The mains arrived immediately after starters, I prefer a small break between courses.

The food here is excellent. Scottish ingredients with some innovative and international twists. We have a child with some allergy issues and the staff were helpful with a clear menu. It's a place that manages to be both accessible for families and with a nice sophisticated vibe.

What a lovely night! The meal was excellent, each course was up there with the best we've had. For such a high standard of ingredients and cooking the price was very reasonable. The staff were all really friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

This is a great restaurant. I chose it based on the reviews and photos here and wasn’t disappointed. The menu is fantastic as it is cleverly balanced between different types of dishes, which nonetheless create a coherent narrative. I felt I could bring anyone here and they would find something they’d be happy with eating. There are ‘small plates’ that you could have as starters or tapas-style, there are standards for those who like fish and chips or burger and there are a selection of restaurant main courses. All looked amazing and served with equal attractiveness on the plate. We shared a small plate of crispy beef glazed with Irn Bru, ‘cos why not?? It was delicious. We both had duck breast a l’orange, which was beautifully cooked and presented. The service is better than most more expensive restaurants, probably because of the Maitre D who has an incredible eye for detail. He noticed my partner was struggling with a little jug and simply brought one with a handle without needing to be asked. Great wine choice and excellent value for money.

Wow! What a lovely meal we had, we were a last minute booking of 9 people and they were super accommodating. Staff were superb and the food was fabulous! A definite visit when in Crieff, we are planning on going back again before we leave. They are open for coffee and lunch too.

My wife and I, had our first visit a few weeks ago, as a local I'm gutted I haven't been in sooner. The food was amazing along with great servers.

We had a lovely meal , the staff were lovely welcoming and very helpful, one of the best bits was believe or not the wild garlic mayo it was delicious just wish I'd asked for more , my husband was also impressed by his creme brulee. And if you like cocktails there a must here as they're amazing .

The food was excellent. me and my wife shared the haggis scotch egg as a starter which I thought tasted better than I was expecting, I had the surf and truth fillet steak (gorgeous) my better half had the Highland venison which she described as extremely tasty. We even asked for a plaster for a blister which was no problem to the staff, highly recommend this place

After a recommendation, we decided to try Craobh - Kroov in the square in Crieff, for a nice pre Birthday meal. As usual we read the reviews, some of which were not very nice ... BUT, I like to decide these things for myself. Thursday night walk in. A very warm welcome, excellent food and first class service in a nice relaxed atmosphere, with a great background sound track. Just goes to show that you should take some reviews with a pinch of salt when researching. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Give them a try, but be warned, at busy times or weekends etc, it would be advisable to book. Ps. The Sirloin was deliscious, cooked to perfection. Thanks guys ... we will be back.

I have been several times with guests for both lunch and dinner; all friends have been delighted with their visit. It never fails to please. The menu is so varied and interesting and it makes it very difficult to make one's choice. The food and its presentation are definitely five star. It caters for all types of restrictions on diet. The prices of the dishes are 'sensible' giving excellent value. The service cannot be faulted with the staff making one feel so welcome, without being overpowering, and never ever hustling you. Although somewhat stuck in a corner of James Square, inside it is so comfortable with such a convivial atmosphere. Comfortable seating with those for back issues!! From the above, it is clearly obvious that I would have no hesitation in recommending Craobh to any residents of Crieff and surrounding areas but also visitors from further afield - well worth travelling for!

Service was fine but not exceptional. There is a mandatory option to say yes or no to add a fixed gratuity using the card reader. Pea soup was a bit sweet but ok. No option for brown bread on the side or as a sandwich. My companion's fish was good. Not a "rush back" but not an "avoid".

Went here for the first time last weekend when I was up visiting my parents. I have coeliac disease so can be a struggle to find nice places to eat but this restaurant was perfect! Had a great menu with a few different options, I got the duck which was cooked perfectly, then had the creme caramel for dessert and again absolutely perfect! I don't often say that either but I appreciate good food when I find it and I will certainly be going back next time to try something else. If you live in crieff and haven't been here yet, you need to! No complaints whatsoever

Freshly back to our hotel after a meal, I would totally recommend this place, the food is 5 out of 5 and already one of my favourite places after 1 visit. So many dishes I wanted, and good portions,,,, too full for dessert but will definitely be back for that. I've only given 3 for atmosphere, that's totally not a criticism, i liked how it was quiet and relaxed but some may like louder. We visit Crieff 1 or 2 times a year for holiday and will definitely make sure we have lunch or dinner again. Update - had dinner 24/03/24 during our stay again at the Hydro and another nice meal. Went for something a bit different and ordered a selection of small plates to share which was a good idea and let us sample more. Service was good and we had a laugh with the waiter. Enjoyed our meal again and still had room (just) for dessert.

A must go to if you are in Perthshire. Food is fantastic - refined tastes, great presentation and just, well just wonderful. Wow…firstly the service in here was impeccable. Neve was very friendly and attentive & helped me pick between all their lovely dishes on their menu. There was also a gentleman who, after me telling him how lovely the sauce was on the steak, went to the kitchen and brought me some more out without me even asking. The food was outstanding. The best steak I’ve ever had. We were told the chef used to be a butcher and only chooses the best cuts for his meat. You can definitely tell as the taste was incredible and the dish was really brought together with all the flavours. I honestly cannot fault this place. I wish we lived closer. Must visit in Crieff.

Staff was amazing, thin tallish chap a little like Benedict cumberbatch. However the burger was not so great, dry which made it hard to eat along with the haggis. Nevertheless the kedgeree was very tasty.
