Food was horrible. Poor salad with no dressing. Fish with no taste at all.It was the worst food in Glasgow city.

Friendly staff, it's a bar , restaurant ,and a comedy club rolled into one with the extra benefit of an interesting historic building right next to the arena we shared a fabulous pizza with chips on top ,very spicy

Food was over cooked, then mains came out half cold and half hot. No rice or noodles just the main meal. Was set menu and never advised til got there. Waiters were dripping of sweat over food not enough staff on to be in that state. Won’t be back

My wife and her best friend went here tonight before going into the ovo they had ordered separate meals. Which was one starter and a main they only brought out one persons food and not the other so this lead to my wife's best friend sharing one meal between the two of them then when it was time to pay they paid for two when only one two course was brought out.

My wife and i stayed in a local hotel whilst attending a conference at the Hydro. When we stay over in Glasgow we always eat at the Cranside Kitchen as you are always guaranteed fabulous food and excellent service. And the prises are not bad either.

Was in tonight for drinks and food before Hollywood Vampires gig . Served by Katie who was very knowledgeable on the Tequilas and just such a breath of fresh air as a server . Will definitely come back here especially if Katie is serving .

Staff very friendly and amenable - especially PK. My husband enjoyed his ribs and chicken fried rice. I personally thought the starters were better than my main (katsu chicken curry). Mine came on 2 separate plates (weird), so I had to ask for a bigger plate as rice was falling on to the table. There wasn't much sauce, so it was very dry.

Very nice service. Beautiful site. Music a little bit too loud for my taste but nothing insufferable. Food was very nice and price very decent. We went for the Asian menu with my dad and everything was good. Ramen and Pad Thai 👌loaded fries for my wife were very generous and very nice 👍and again service was perfect. Prices very reasonable. We were seated straight away in the beer garden, staff all friendly and attentive. I love that you can order from the various restaurants and we ordered both Chinese and Greek. Food delicious. Brilliant venue with great food and lush garden!

Location is quite good, the concept is great but.. seems quite disorganised once it’s at capacity. During busy days expect delays in drinks and poorer service. Food is just okay, nothing amazing but the beer garden is definitely an attraction (when not busy).

I can honestly say I have never seen customer service as bad. The staff were extremely rude towards a member of our party, to the point where we all left. In further discussions with staff they continue to take no accountability for how the situation could have been dealt with better, which is even more worrying. Take your business elsewhere.

Very disappointed regarding the recent experience my group had at Cranside on Friday. As a large group, we had spent a significant amount of money during our visit. Towards the end of our booking, we kindly requested to stay longer, as the venue was relatively quiet. However, to our surprise, the individual whom we assume was the manager approached our entire group in an inappropriate manner. In front of everyone present, the manager singled out two individuals, accusing them of being heavily intoxicated. While one of our friends had indeed consumed alcohol, she had stopped drinking and was simply waiting for her husband to come and pick her up. The other person who was pointed out is our friend who is autistic. She was happily dancing at the end of our table, not causing any inconvenience to anyone, and certainly not exhibiting signs of being drunk, as claimed by the manager. The manner in which the manager handled the situation was highly distressing for our autistic friend. She became visibly upset and started crying due to the embarrassment caused by being publicly singled out. Recognizing the duty of care that establishments have, we understand the need to address any concerns about intoxication. However, we believe there were more appropriate ways to handle the situation, particularly when dealing with individuals who were not exhibiting problematic behavior. Following the incident, I took it upon myself to approach the manager privately to discuss our concerns. I remained courteous throughout the conversation, explaining that while we understand the duty of care, dancing alone is not an indicator of intoxication. Unfortunately, it appears that the manager misrepresented the nature of our interaction in their response, claiming that I verbally abused them and used inappropriate language, which is simply untrue. In addition, some of our other friends spoke to the bouncer, expressing their dissatisfaction with the manager's approach. They highlighted that our autistic friend was not drunk and was merely enjoying herself through dancing. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that we left the premises politely without any gestures or swearing, contrary to the claims made in the response provided by the manager. It is disheartening to have encountered such a situation, as the atmosphere was flat, the music was not enjoyable, and the staff's behavior came across as unprofessional and insensitive towards individuals with disabilities. The fabrication of events in their response only serves to further worsen the situation. It is important to note that other nearby tables seemed louder, with some even standing on tables and shouting when their acquaintances arrived, yet they were not subjected to similar treatment or asked to leave. Overall, we strongly believe that the situation could have been handled much better by the staff at Cranside. The incident has left us with a negative impression of the establishment, and the false claims made by the manager in their response have only reinforced our decision not to return in the future, even if we were compensated. The only positive aspect of our visit was the quality of the pizza. We kindly request that you address these concerns and take appropriate measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future. We hope that steps will be taken to improve the professionalism and inclusivity of your staff, as well as the overall atmosphere and customer experience at Cranside.

I don't know why the previous reviews are so negative! Honestly had such a lovely night with great food and drink! Felt very well catered to and we were given a lot of attention. Food was delicious as was the drink and I can't praise our server enough. (I think his name was William as it was on our bill). We had 2 pizzas, Cajun fries and the garlic bread pizza from the Romania section and look forward to trying the other sections in the future. Will definitely be back again and recommend to everyone! Drinks in the beer garden first, then a pre-concert booking at Xi'an Chinese for food. The fixed price "pre-concert menu" on the website is no longer available, but the menu has plenty of reasonably priced variety. Unlike the web menu, the printed menu doesn't show GF/allergy options. Very busy due to the concert, but service was good.

Terrible service, really painfully slow. Food was awful, we ate in the Italian and the food was barely edible. Won't go back.

Waited 90 minutes for first dish to be delivered, which proved to be inedible. Groups in adjacent tables also left as their food failed to appear. One positive was the lovely waitress who was clearly mortified. This was the worst restaurant experience ever!

the atmosphere outside is nice, the staff were a little bit... strange. I ordered the chicken ramen. After waiting over 40 minutes for my food and enquiring about the item, the staff simply said "that is how long the ramen takes". strange reply, however I digress... to my surprise the chicken ramen was extremely fishy. After checking the menu, there was no mention of fish sauce, or whatever was used to make the ramen overpoweringly fishy. On the price, I get there is rent to be paid etc and its a big venue, however charging 11 pounds for a ramen for it to be that poor is a bit unsavoury to say the least. I think you should mention to people on the menu that the chicken ramen broth is so fishy, otherwise I can imagine most people will be surprised like me! I honestly wouldve rathered a varied bowl of ramen as well than 3 massive bits of fried chicken that go soggy in the fishy sauce.

Do not recommend! As the only way to order and pay was via app, which was not working, I could not order anything whilst my friends had already placed their orders. Still, later they could not place the second order, because the app decided to not work. Staff members did not know how to help and did not offer any alternatives to the app.

Had been told it had outside dining from a range of restaurants, but when we went a big concert nearby had been cancelled, so they were only serving drinks outside and inside only the Asian restaurant and Romano's were available. We plumped for Asian. The food was delicious and the staff, though very busy, were great.

We used to always go for food before Cranside took over. We thought we would still give the food here a try as it was always so good. We were seated and waited ages for someone to come take just our drink order. We ordered food from the Chinese food menu and mine arrived on 2 separate small plates. I could not mix my rice with my chicken dish so asked for a large bowl and as the food was so dry I had to ask for sauce also. The boy forgot about this request and I had to ask someone else who did get them for me. The food was just okay. I know they were busy but seemed like there wasn't enough staff on to cope. The place looked run down compared to what it was like before and the music was quite loud for being in a restaurant. Very disappointed as was so looking forward to our meal.

Came in here reluctantly cause we wanted something close to hotel. Wanted italian food and after we were seated we were infirmed that there was no cook for the italian kitchen so only pizzas and salads were available. Came here before a show at the SEC. Overall we were made to feel a burden for wanting to eat there, food was average. pizza was better than the pasta, pasta was very bland. Staff didn’t seem to care at all and just pulled faces. Lots of flies inside the place too. Comedy Cabaret night was superb. VIP Booth maybe a bit pricey for what it is but still enjoyable. Need to book a food ticket in advance if you’re after that. We were allowed to get takeaway food up from the Cranside Kitchen. Great staff and evening all round.

Food was the equivalent of a good takeway and would have got 4 stars, enjoyed it but not quite hitting the 5 star mark. However service was not so good... we turned up at the entrance and the concierge / greeter duly took our names for the reservation and pointed us upstairs... where we had to promptly go through the exact same procedure of finding our reservation... waste of theirs and our time. We were then seated without menus and waited for what seemed an age. They had obviously forgotten about us. Didn't even come to see if we wanted a drinks order Another couple was seated next to us, with menus, after which we were finally allowed to look at the menus. Immediately after we had our menu a second couple were then seated behind us. They were also seated with menus. Then both couples orders were taken before ours. We again were left waiting for quite a while. Eventually a waiter wandered over to our table. It had to be the slowest, most laid back waiter I have ever encountered. Eventually our order was taken and my other half and I order a glass of wine each... 1 red, 1 white. At the end of the meal (which was good, I have no complaints over the food) we were than charged for one glass of white and one bottle of red. Seriously Guys, get a grip!! The whole experience was a restaurant ran by amateurs. The only people who seemed to actually know what they were doing were the Chefs.

Wir haben hier das Abendessen eingenommen. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Wir mussten sowohl für die Bestellung und auch das Essen kaum Warten. So konnten wir sehr bald das Restaurant wieder verlassen. Das Essen (asiatisch) aus dem Wok hat uns wunderbar geschmeckt. Die Kosten mit Bier für 2 Personen mit Trinkgeld 37 Pfund. Wir waren von den günstigen Preisen überrascht. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Food came before the drinks and was mediocre.

I was expecting to be in the outside seating area with lots of food options but that's only the weekend, which was a shame because it was really hot out and very warm in the restaurant. You could either order Asian food or Italian. The service was a little slow but the food was great. I loved the Korean chicken although I've had much better bao buns. Maybe I'm just not used to city prices but for £8.50 a cocktail it would have been nice to have it in a nice glass or with an umbrella or something, just something a little special.

Well where do I start was so looking forward to dining here before going to the hydro for a show , firstly I had to go up to a waitress after waiting 30 mins to be asked not only for just for the drinks but what we would like to eat also then she still took another 5 mins after that we had booked our table from 530 , the whole place was an absolute joke no organisation at all we had meals coming up to us that wasn’t even our order and this was happening all round the restaurant we didn’t get out till 730 was hoping that we booked early we could chill relax enjoy the food n drink but no not all we don’t live locally so we were already tired from our long journey one table they were asked for their order 3 times as they we’re getting it wrong every time even when our bill came there was food on it that wasn’t ours extremely poor management looked as there was no management at all to sort this mess out not just for us but the whole time we were there for all the tables lots of unhappy customers I can’t speak for them but I will certainly will not be returning.

We booked for 17.30 to go see a show at 20.00. We waited for 30 mins until we were asked what we wanted. My partner had spare ribs that were cremated and full of grisle for starters. Three of us came here before a show at the nearby OVO Hydro and booked a table in advance. We sat in Romano's, which also has an Asian menu available. We asked, and were told we could order from both and mix & match dishes. We all ordered from Romano's menu, which offers a two course meal for £19.95. We ordered a bruschetta & meatballs to start, which were delightful. Carbonara, Arriabata & Hangover II pizza were the main courses and once again, did not disappoint. If you have the hangover pizza, I'd recommend not having a starter - As someone who's known to have a, ahem, big appetite, I couldn't finish it. Staff were lovely & pleasant, they were attentive and we weren't left waiting for any length of time. Would definitely come back for another pre-gig meal!

I booked for the Italian restaurant for an event a few weeks ago, we got held up and were running late, I called the restaurant 37 times and there was no answer, I had emailed through the urgent email address (events one) which is stated on their website, I had also emailed a few days before on the ordinary email address to ask a question, all of these came back as undeliverable as if the email address didn't exist. When we got there I explained we had got held up and they said all they had left was a table at the door which was fine we couldn't help we got held up but was glad they still let us in, we didn't notice the table at the door as so many people blocked it waiting for a table, there was another table sat empty at the other side of the restaurant the whole time we were in which I thought must of been ours in the first place. I don't even think that table should be at the door, it was freezing as the door was held open most of the time with people queuing, I got hit by bags and all sorts from people trying to get out the door past the others waiting in the queue. Food was nice and service good apart from the whole trying to actually get through to the venue but the table at the door just ruined it a bit.

Upon arrival we were told we needed to select between Asian & Italian, having attended on a number of occasions previously this was quite a shock as we were expecting the Greek, Thai, Chinese, Italian etc etc and to be order from all different menus...

Took ages for my order to be taken but once it was, everything turned up super quick and the food was awesome. Assume it was down to being the busiest time a high profile gig at the venue , meaning added pressure on the staff. I would definitely eatvhere again

So dissapointed with this place. Came here 3 years running and they've changed the menu. Just an Italian downstairs and a Chinese upstairs. You can't order from separate menus anymore and they even raise the price and only have a set 'concert menu'. So sad as we loved this place, came here everyday in the past when we visited and definitely wont be coming back again. Its also very sad to see how quiet this place is, before we struggled to get a seat, its empty now, blasting music making it hard to have a conversation. The serving time was also very long and made us late for our concert, we asked for the bill as soon as they brought the main meals. Never again.
