super friendly staff and a great mixed kebab

Just been there, it says Charcoal grill but is actually electric, I’ve ordered lamb kofta in a wrap that has no taste, this is not an autentic Turkish dish. I took 2 bites and throw it away. I don’t recommend this place due to the food taste.

Been going here for about a year now and out of all the kebab shops in the area these guys are by far the best. The food is always on point. The meat is always tender and tastes fresh and flavourful. The chips are always crispy but not overcooked, the onion rings are the best around and generally everything is just cooked right. What really makes the guys here stand apart is the service. Always friendly and happy to help and the one time there was a mistake on my delivery order they sent out a new one super quick and was no hassle. Since our first time using charcoal grill we've not ordered a kebab from anywhere else! Update 5th Jan 2024. This is still the best burger and kebab shop in the area by far and I've tried almost all of them! Couldn't recommend the guys here more

My sons and I loved the fish and chips, and the scampi. The chips were so crispy, we couldn't stop eating. Also, the food didn't taste like oil which is sometimes hard to find. Thank you.

Ordered meat and chips. Very expensive for what it is and the chicken meat was horrible. Dried out and almost like it was shredded not cut. Will not be going back again.

We did order lamb shish and they give us beef shish very little and poor quality too not happy for what I paid and never order from them again. Very disappointed

Food was ok, but the hygiene is very bad!!! The guy was touching his nose and mouth and then touch the food straight after... The other man had bleeding hand and serving food like that. I had no appetite after that. I think it's basic thing to wash your hands after touching your face or handle money, before you touch food again.

Food from here is usually nice for what it is a quick lazy comfort food dinner. Thought my treat myself didn't want to cook a bit hung over so went to order uber eats as I have before only to find they are now changing £11 for kebab meat chips and cheese are they serious? When you by in there £9 which is already up from about £5.50 maybe a year ago!! At that price will never order again also have to pay a delivery fee which is fine when they are not ripping you off charging £11 for chips meat and cheese.

I've only lived in Walton for a couple of years now and had a kebab from Charcoal a few times but only just thought of leaving a review. I think it's fair to say that when it comes to takeaway kebabs, they are either awful food not fit for an animal, or bloody great food that would satisfy the most uppity of food snobs. There is no middle ground. Charcoal Grill is most certainly the latter. I have ordered from Charcoal Grill both in person and for delivery and every time, the food has been hot, tasty, tender and delicious. You can leave your kebab snobbery at the door because the food from this restaurant is top notch anytime. Aside from the food, the staff themselves are all a really nice bunch of blokes. Always friendly, always a laugh and always professional. These guys take the place one step beyond just good food and make it an enjoyable experience all round. All in all, no matter what walk of life you're from, whether you're a middle-class professional couple at a loose end for dinner or a lager lout at 2am on a Friday night, this is the place for a really good, decently priced, authentic meal.

I had a nasty chicken shish here marinaded in curry powder. What Turkish kebab shop could get such a simple dish so wrong? Go to Walton BBQ by Half Way Green Hersham for real reasonably priced Turkish grilled food. I just don't understand these places that are in amazing locations and could potentially get queues outside the door if only they could cook and listen to the public.

I really like this restaurant. The food is good, well presented and tasty. The Turkish cuisine is well presented and tastes really good too. The staff always make a fuss of my children which helps to make it one of their favourites. It is one of mine too.

Ok but could be better they are nothing like the used to be. This time I went I ordered a chicken donna kebab as I hadn't had one in a long time when I got it home I was very disappointed as the kebab was so wet it had made the pitta slimy and wet and inedible the salad was limp and the flavour of the chicken was bland watery and tastles. I won't be returning in a hurry that's for sure

I come here regularly for a takeaway for myself and the family. Friendly staff and clean place. The large chicken Shish if my favourite or mixed kebab. Salads are always fresh and they have a variety of sauces. Be warned if you are not good with hot food the Kofte kebab is very spicy! My father wasn't expecting that so i ended up with an extra kebab that night, I needed a few litres of water to say the least.

For a supposed large shish kebab, there wasn't much in it. Salad was the tiniest amount too. Also, I know it's very hot, but some sort of headgear to stop the sweating over the food issue would be good!

***Best kebab for years***Visited for the first time yesterday as it was late and they were still open. Had a delicious lamb shish with tasty crispy chips and the staff too were very friendly. Would recommend they start a delivery service as they would do very well but until they do I will happily go and collect.

Good staff with a wide choice of beers and nice well cooked food, bar appears to go for a causal, retro feel to the seating area. A nice atmosphere and enjoyable place to spend a few hours.

This pub is an excellent place for real ale drinkers as the choice is very extensive and you get to choose your glass as well.

Popped in on the way to a restaurant and ended up eating here. The beer selection was excellent so ended up staying and eating at the bar. unfortunately although the food was ok i was surprised when I saw that on my bill was a 10% service charge. This include the drinks I had ordered. I was at the bar....the bar. This left a bitter taste unlike the beer which was excellent.

Been back there twice after a year break, they messed up my order and expected me to pay with the comment "what can I do about it, it's done now" really?? What if I had paid in advance....

The assistant manager possibly (Sydney) is very rude , I witnessed her being aggressive to some customers before she started on us ! It took at least 10-15 minutes to get around of drinks only 6-8 drinks each time , there was lots of staff but none of whom where capable of making or pulling simple drinks, we where there for approximately 4 hours and noticed (Sydney) taking 2 food breaks taking up a table of 6 each time , food is hit and miss I would give it a 5/10, I would suggest new management, better trained staff and a good clean!

We spent a few hours at the craft & grill sampling some of there lovely ales and different beers so we thought we would stop for a bite to eat the food was ok just a bit bland and over cooked just needed more sauce and seasoning which would have made it a lot better it was a shame as it was a really nice place and really wanted to give it a good review

We had a booking for 730pm althought to be honest we didn't need to have booked as we were the only ones in the restaurant area, the ladies / gents toilets were along a corridor you had to walk pas the kitchen to get to, I glanced in couple of times most of the time the chef weas leaning on his elbow, looking quite bored, we ordered our food, I had chichen tender sloces and other half had pulled pork balls in crispy coating, he had no sauce with his 4 balls and couldn't have finished them if he hadn't have had my bbq sause I was eating with my extremely dry chicken over cooked and with batter on the outside too dark and over fried , we moved onto mains hoping it would improve, I had sliders with selection of meat inside and other half had chilli dog, which he said sausage was ok, but not a hint of chilli and to be honest there wasn't even sauce really, my sliders were bland and I attempted to try them all, the pulled pork was more like crispy chicken from a Chinese restaurant sort of texture not the soft pulled pork juicy texture I was expecting, overall very disappointed with the food im afraid

Visited Craft & Grill on Friday night in a party of 11 people. We had booked a table and got a nice area right at the back of the restaurant. We weren't really acknowledged when we came in so found the table and helped ourselves to food and drinks menus as they weren't on the table. We all got drinks from the bar but no one came to take our food order until we asked. In all fairness, the waitress was polite and efficient given that we were a large table and she did come back from the kitchen to warn us that the food might take a little while as they had several other big tables in. As it happened, it didn't take too long for the food to arrive and it was pretty tasty. I had the southern fried chicken burger and pulled pork croquettes on the side and both were really nice! We also ordered a portion of onion rings but these were pretty bog-standard and easily could have been from the supermarket. There were plenty of them, but for the price (£3 i think) you are expecting something a bit better. The food wasn't as hot as it could have been but I forgave this given that we were a big group. They also forgot one of the meals but removed it from the bill as it was brought out a lot later than the rest. I'm giving it a "very good" based on the good value of the food and drink and the generally nice atmosphere in C&G however there is room for improvement in both the service and the quality of the side dishes.
