Cow & Apple in South Somerset

We had nachos and various burgers, one of them gluten free. Pleasant to see how they really take care about allergies. We were all very satisfied with our meals. Service was very friendly.

Great food, kids loved the children’s menu and serving staff were friendly and efficient. Would be good to have a few more dessert options instead of just cake.

I very rarely, if ever give top marks as we are all human and can always learn more. However this does not detract in anyway from the excellent service received from the team at The Cow and Apple. The young ladies were constantly looking after the customers, and as soon as a table was vacated they cleared it and thoroughly cleaned it. Well done and thank you.

Visited for lunch. Food was really good. Best chips I've had out. It was quite expensive but portions were a good size. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would visit again

Nice restaurant with good dairy free and gluten-free options. The staff are knowledgeable about allergens which makes it enjoyable for those with dietary requirements who can eat there with confidence. Food is also pretty tasty too.

Great tasty food, good portion sizing, super polite staff. Kids drink a little on the small side but that's being super picky. Great ambience and vibe. Will definitely be back.

First and last visit. Stale bread roll and very poor service although they were not busy. Shame as I was really looking forward to trying this place.

Could not more highly recommend. The place is lovely has a nice ambiance both inside and outside. The owner has clearly invested in making the outside a plausible dining option - with a lot of heaters. The food is incredible and I have never had a bad experience here! Will definitely go again soon :)

I had lovely service very police and welcoming staff I drank a nice double vodka with starter and a lovely brownie with dairy ice cream xx this was a beautiful setting and I will be there again tomorrow it’s COVID friendly and and very pretty I was served but Marnie and she was great in every way

We ordered a takeaway from The Cow & Apple and it was nice and we were happy, we went back for the second time and unfortunately it was a big disappointment. We ordered nachos and cheesy fries, there was no cheese on the nachos or fries. When we asked they said they had run out of grated cheese and had put on a bit of cheese sauce instead. We received a refund and an apology from the manager so we thought ok it’s just a one off. We then went there for a third time and you can see the result in the photo. Cold sloppy food, barely any cheese and not very edible. Won’t be going back a fourth time!

Awesome burger and those curly fries with chilli and cheese on are the absolute nards. Keep smashing it you sturdy legends x

We have just used the delivery service at the Cow & Apple. The experience from start to finish was delightful. The meal was delivered fast Piping hot by a driver who was very COVID aware. The food was as delicious as ever and fantastic value for money. All in all outstanding and well worth the five star rating. 5*****+

Delicious piping hot food delivered on time in environmentally friendly bio degradable packing. Adding chilli beef to the fries is a game changer. Never had a bad burger from cow and apple and their take away service was no exception. Highly recommended.

Went there for mid week lunch. Really tasty burger and came with nice chips and homemade coleslaw 😋 friendly staff, we’ll definitely come back again.

As on all previous visits. The entire experience was fantastic. Even during the difficult time we all are going through the owners and staff still give 101% to ensure all visitors are well looked after. The food is exceptional. The service is of the highest standard. Also the owners have gone the extra mile by building outside covered seating along with overhead heating and lighting. The effect of the improvements ensure that families couples etc can enjoy their visit on every occasion whatever the weather day and night. Well worth a visit especially over the Christmas period and we will certainly make the most of a great venue. 5* ☕️

Normally you accept a dip in quality or slightly cold food with some delivery services. Not with this, good chips, burger as good as eat in. Will order again.

The vegetarian food was good, and we had a cider tasting crate. It was a very good experience and I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

2nd night in Yeovil and we came here as we liked the concept We were not disappointed!!Between us we tried half a dozen ciders, had 2 great burgers and 2 scrummy puds before toddling back to our hotel The staff were really friendly and very willing to accommodate our requests If you want burgers and cider, go to this place and relax!

Delicious food here, not greasy at all like some other burger places but honestly just great food and cider!

Was looking forward to coming here with my partner. Menu looked good as did the photos online. Unfortunately we were disappointed despite The decor being really good and the place looks nice. We had nachos and halloumi bites for starters. Halloumi bites were ok. The nachos was the smallest portion I have ever seen in my life, you can get a portion 3x the size and exactly the same quality in Wetherspoons or pretty much any food serving pub. For mains we both ordered a combine burger. Both burgers were undercooked, very pink. The fries were also undercooked & tasted frozen, as did the onion rings. The bacon in the burger was as if it had never seen a pan. All quite undercooked. The portions also weren’t huge at all and we left feeling hungry.We also felt rushed despite the place not seeming full. The starters came out within a few minutes of ordering them. The mains came literally as we were finishing our starters. Then when someone came to take our plates away we were told where we could pay when we wanted a few more drinks, instead because of this we left. We were done and out in 45 minutes. A little disappointing to be honest.

We made a last minute booking and got quite a late slot which we thought was a strong indicator for a popular place to go.The service was a little slow with staff seeing as we arrived but making us wait to come to greet us.The drinks came swiftly while we placed our order and the food was prompt. The food however was quite underwhelming. I ordered the halloumi bites which looked like "tater tots" (deep fried potato chunks) I actually thought they had brought me the wrong thing. My partner's chicken strips were dry and basic, clearly a bought in frozen item.The mains weren't much better. Both were served with a pathetic amount of what you could describe as "salad".The gurt burger was average, overcooked and dry. The waitress didn't ask how my partner wanted it which made us think that was also frozen. I ordered the onion bhaji burger which sounded amazing. Unfortunately, that too was dry. The bun wasn't toasted but the bread seemed "old" and was stiff, the spicy tomato relish was minimal so it was good that the goats cheese and the bhaji had some taste.The coleslaw was tasteless and quite dry too, it definitely needed more mayo to bind it together and the onion rings were also not home made and were under seasoned.What we probably thought let them down more was the service. After our mains were served, no one returned. We sat and waited to order a pudding but they never returned and so we got up to pay and then leave. All in all we did leave with full stomachs but disappointed that so many locals in Yeovil rave about the place and we were left uninspired.

I've visited the Cow and Apple several times over the last few weeks and each time the service and food has been top quality. Always a friendly smile serving up the great burgers and the portions are spot on. Highly recommend the chocolate brownie and ice cream dessert to really fill you up along with the cider selection tasters if you're not sure what to go for. Great menu choice and my fav place to visit when up this way on work. Also in a lovely location overlooking the beautiful church square.

Stopped off here as we like to support local businesses if we’re in a new area. Queued up at the table to order food and choose what we were going to have from the menu. Waited about 5 minutes for someone to appear and the girl just said we close at 2pm (it was exactly 2pm by the time she appeared)! We pointed out that she was turning away around £30 of business (plus there was someone else behind us looking to eat) wouldn’t budge though so we walked away. Shame as it looked nice.

My wife, 2 children and I ate here during the “eat out to help out”. Dispite being fully booked the staff were very attentive and the orders taken quickly. The food arrived just as quick and we all enjoyed our food a lot with no complaints at all. I feel in these difficult times they are doing a great job and commend them all. Well worth a visit

Excellent Vegan options on the menu and great Food. The staff were absolutely lovely and helpful in every way. We ate inside and the staff were really thoughtful about social distancing but giving excellent service.

We popped in here for lunch and we're so impressed.Firstly the staff were all really welcoming and explained all the new procedures they have to follow. The burgers were fantastic and we had Gluten Free burgers and felt really happy that they even have a gluten free barbecue sauce, they were very accommodating and we didn't feel like we were a nuisance because we don't eat gluten. The local ale was very good and we had such a nice experience here that we will certainly be returning. We were impressed to see that the beef they use is grass fed, what a great ethos and so rare sometimes. Highly recommend this fantastic little place.

Since having been told to self isolate, we didn't have much to look forward to, BUT that changed when I found out my favourite eating place was doing home delivery, I was so happy I was bouncing, I phoned and was lucky enough to get a slot, when the food came we was so happy, it was hot, tasty, and we ate with gusto. We now have something to look forward to every fortnight, believe me, it's amazing.So, thankyou to gareth and stacey and the lovely staff who is giving so many people light at the end of a very long tunnel by doing food deliveries.

Due to lockdown we haven’t been able to venture out too much, however takeaway option with Cow and Apple certainly did not disappoint! Burgers were amazing, starters and cider also great! Service and timing were very well managed. Will definitely be returning.

I love that you can add toppings to fries - that immediately sold me. I had pulled pork on mine along with the Cow & Apple burger. It was delicious. There was a bit of a mixup with my order, but it wasn't a big deal (to me). I was a hospitality manager for years so I know mistakes happen, but they responded really well. Every member of the team (Drew, Emily, and Stacey) apologised for the mistake and the subsequent (short) wait I had while they corrected it. The only negative comment I have is I was on antibiotics and couldn't drink cider - next time I will

Booked for early meal before going to theatre. Arrived and seated, service slow, ordered drinks, no draught beer on although on drinks menu. One person ordered ginger beer, when about 15 minutes later drinks arrived, the ginger beer was in fact a pint. She asked for half pint glass, again about 15 minutes later her husband went to the bar for the glass to find the chap cleaning his iPad. He said he was contacting staff!!!! Food arrived a while later but no coleslaw when questioned with the staff the answer was,oh sorry I should have said we have run out of coleslaw. There are only 2 other ingredients served with the burger these being coleslaw and chips Surely if they had run out of coleslaw they could have easily made or purchased a further supply. Anyway when bill came we were charged for 2 ginger beers. When the bill was queried the chap reduced it by 25%. Which was ok but surely on such a simple menu they should have done better. Would I return probably not.

I took my son there yesterday for lunch. Actually, we drove up from Honiton Devon as we'd been there a year before and promised outselves we'd go back. Drew and Stacey gave us a warm welcome. Very relaxed atmosphere, and well looked after for the duration of our visit. The food was just as we remembered: lush. Overall a 10/10 visit to celebrate a nice day out with my eldest.Thank you. Along with friends we visit on a regular basis. The service and products are always fantastic. The team are highly motivated and nothing is too much trouble.

We stopped here on route to Cornwall from surrey for lunch and we were made extremely welcome by very friendly staff. They cater very well for the veggie and meat eater alike and the food was excellent! We will most probably stop here again on our way home!

First time visiting today for Sunday breakfast- visited with dog and children. Greeted with warm welcome- Abbie and Drew were great! Sat in bar area with our dog- given water for him. Breakfasts were very tasty and very impressed- the best breakfast we have had in a long time. Great gluten free sausages.

There was a decent selection of burgers and a good selection of cider. A few criticisms are that the draught drinks were not cold enough and my friend who was drinking lager mentioned how he hates a warm and flat pint. The bottled ciders, however, were great.

First time here and very impressesed. Food was excellent; I had the 'gurt' burger (supersized) and the meat patties were spot on, chicken breast tender and plenty of extras on good bun; probably the best burger in Somerset and the surrounding area. Gluten free Brownie was probably the best I've ever tasted (this from a chocolate brownie afficionado). To top it off the service was welcoming and always felt looked after by the staff. Absolutely tip top and will be back soon.

Came here with some work colleagues. Food was great and staff were really accommodating to the fact that we were on our lunch so brought food out very quickly. Only small nag was that we ordered tacos/m off the lunch menu and they ended up giving it off the main menu (which was obviously larger portion but slightly more expensive. We clearly said from the lunch deal please). Will definitely be back though.

Been going here for food for a long time and it never fails to impress. The food is always amazing, sooo many choices of cider and the staff are always cheerful and very helpful.

My first time visiting Cow&Apple; and I have to say I’m amazed, for a small business tucked away in Yeovil they have amazing coffee and service, the staff are friendly and can’t do enough to help, I bought a coffee and while stood chatting it was bought to my table! Will defiantly return!

The cow and apple gave us a warm and friendly welcome. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait very long. The staff were polite and professional but still managed to make us feel as if we were regulars even though it was our first visit. We highly recommend this quaint cafe.

The Cow and Apple gave me such a warm welcome. The food was amazing and service was second to none. I was kindly looked after by Oliva, she was very helpful and knowledgeable, serving my friends and I with a friendly smile. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Dreadful! Had a bad experience a couple of months ago where the delay between ordering and actually receiving the food was almost an hour; eventually walked away as the good had still not arrived.

As always an amazing and delicious meal at the Cow and Apple - this was a Christmas Work Meal and the food and service were exceptional as always. Great selection of Ciders and super tasty burgers. Kudos to the staff for putting up with a noisy Christmas Do!

Our business is located very close to the cow and apple and we do pop in often, however we booked (an early) Christmas party and it was absolutely brilliant! The team are fantastic, the food is dangerously good and the atmosphere was ace!

Spoilt for choice so went with the onion bahjee and goats cheese burger...OMG to die for!!! Ok bit dramatic but was extremely tasty..can't wait to go back and have it again!!

Me and my girlfriend popped in for lunch at the tail end of lunch service so it was nice and quiet. The service was quick and attentive. The food arrived fast and was very nice. Woodland burger with crispy fries and coleslaw. Mint and pear cider to go with it. Perfect. I don’t think I can fault it. Atmosphere is lovely and calm but always warm and friendly. Food is fresh and juicy burgers. Mouth watering honestly. Can go here for your birthday meal or just lunch with your bestie. It suits any occasion. 1000% recommend this place. You know that place where you look and your friend and you’re both thinking, “Wheres always good?” ..... ‘Cow & Apple?’ Lets go.

This is the first time I have been to the Cow and Appple, they do a daily special and today's was Tacos.. Big portions, well presented lovely food and only £6!!.. We had one of the salted caramel milkshakes, if you haven't tried one, you need to. Our server Mia was a lovely friendly young lady, who was very polite and friendly. Will definitely be going back again.

My husband and I had a lovely meal here. Since being diagnosed with coeliacs disease, eating anywhere in Yeovil was not great for me and had stopped going out to eat.

Came in with a friend with a view to having a few drinks somewhere different - was blown away by the range of ciders my favourite was the rum and raisin. the girl who served us, Leah, was fantastic allowing us to try before we buy and made sure we were looked after, we left in high spirits and thanks to the excellent service provided we will definitely return.
