Cove Cafe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This lovely little café is nestled in one of my favorite beaches in the world, and I had it recommended by a pair of trusted friends. Went for lunch today and it was unbelievably tasty, stunning food, and views. 10/10. Can't wait to return for one of their upcoming events.

This is a lovely cafe! Great views from both inside and on the terrace. Good relaxed vibe going on, with friendly staff! We just had coffee and cake, delicious as we relaxed in the sun.

I found Cove Cafe by accident on a costal walk, well what can I say! Stunning view for breakfast. Then to find out they do evening dinner on some days was amazing… the food was fantastic and staff were so kind and caring… 5* guys and Sharon you are a star and they are lucky to have to 💜

Great spot, lovely quaint little cafe overlooking the beach, perfect spot to enjoy a coffee and yummy cakes, its a bit of a steep walk to the cafe but well worth a visit, friendly service

We love the Cove Cafe!! Staying in a chalet on Toms holiday we always visit. This year was just for drinks on a windy evening but the staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate us!! They moved comfy chairs to the window so we could sit and enjoy a bottle of wine whilst enjoying the sunset. The food board always looks enticing with fresh local produce and slightly different options to other establishments. The Cove Cafe always has a lovely, friendly feel about it and overlooks Hayle beach. If the weather is good it’s the best place ever to sit, relax and just watch the world go by, and perfect for enjoying the Cornish sunsets. Thanks again for making us feel welcome when we visited and special shout outs to the two lovely ladies that were working that evening who went above and beyond. A MUST VISIT.

Best cafe I have ever visited, there is nothing on the menu that will disappoint you, we came here two days in a row and if it wasn’t that we wanted to explore the area a little more would have returned again and again. The staff were so helpful, coffee was amazing, wine was exceptional and food…. I am still reliving it. Views are amazing of St Ives, if you visit you must come here, why can’t there be more places like this around.

What a place, the view is amazing, the lady that hosts is so nice and can't do enough for you. The food is lovely, we have breakfast before a long beach walk and it is a fantastic start to a great day. It's the type of place when you go home you stop and think about. Truly a little slice of heaven in corneall.

This is a superb little Cafe sitting at the top of the cliff with glorious views across to the beaches, sea and St Ives beyond. Nice seating areas both inside and out, with mist seats having great views! Menu is nice, simple and I imagine caters for most tastes. Coffee is served well, Flatwhite good and strong. Staff friendly and efficient. Cafes like the ones dotted up this coast and in St Agnes are a real bonus and we must support them.

I visited 5 or 6 times during a week’s holiday nearby so this was my local cafe, it’s in a breathtaking location and has a fantastic outside deck area looking over the beach and across St Ives bay, and the inside is lovely too. I had the Bakewell tart and vanilla icecream which was out of this world with the most buttery melt in the mouth pastry I’ve ever tasted. Coffee is good, the breakfast baps are also excellent. I tried the fish soup with aioli and crouton for lunch one day and that was also divine. Service was excellent too.

Very very tasty breakfast. I really recommend coming here for lunch or brunch! You can take you dog, the views are amazing and the chefs know what they are doing.

Great vibes and dog friendly, stopped for lunch after a long walk along the beach. Lovely alfresco place with a Mediterranean vibe. Decent beer and great food. I had heard that the food was great so wanted to give it a try. It’s a great venue for dog walkers as they are welcome, however when we were there,(sitting inside) there were three dogs who barked continuously as owners were feeding them from their plates. So it was very noisy. Personally I feel if dogs are badly behaved then owners could be asked to eat outside. Having said that the staff were friendly and the place had a nice vibe. My soup was delicious however it was served in an exceptionally small bowl and for £11 I left feeling hungry which was a shame.

Amazing lunch and chilled vibes. Dogs are welcome too. I went for the mackerel pate which was excellent and the bolognaise, also really tasty. Staff friendly and chill. It’s situated right on the beach, ideal for walks. I’d recommend parking at the bluff and doing the 2 minute walk over to it. Parking is limited around the cafe.

Popped in today. AMAZING homemade brownies and reasonable prices, lovely decor and nice and cosy. Customer service was excellent as well, staff were so friendly. Highly recommend and will be on our cafe stops from now on! Thank you.

We stopped here on our Sunday dog walk and took the opportunity to sit in the sun! It's a lovely view back along the beach towards St Ives. We had the sausage patty brioche and coffees. Very nice, very tasty and kept us going till tea time.

What a little gem, had a lovely walk stopped of for lunch wow such an amazing place, the food was out of this world, the place was packed yet the service was amazing very professional not a long wait on food. On my door step will definitely come again, can not big this place up enough amazing thank you so much see you soon.

We met friends here for dinner and an evening of live music (provided by the Wave Machine). We had the Mackerel pate to start, Harissa Hake with seasonal roast veg (cooked to perfection) for main course - followed by a dessert to die for - the Prune & Chocolate sticky pudding with brandy cream (OMG!!). This was consumed with local beer and some beautiful white wine. The Cove cafe is perfectly located above the Riviere Towans beach - it is a wonderfully cosy cafe with a great vibe, staff are incredibly friendly & helpful. Lilly the manager, Matt (one of the chefs) and the owner Rupert (who runs a cookery school) are very passionate about their food & service. We have had breakfast, lunch & now dinner here and we have never been disappointed - it really is a great spot to chill out, meet friends, and enjoy great food & drink. They also do coffee & cake if you are looking for a light bite. Highly recommend it to anyone! Ps Dog friendly too Indoor & Outdoor seating available depending on weather.

I was convinced by my friend Jhon Lobster to revisit. From my last visit the place has improved and has now implemented some well needed necessity's I'm personally enjoyed the drink I was given and the food was somewhat better but could still be improved.

What a great find! We were going to just get a drink but discovered there was an extensive lunch menu, so couldn't resist having lunch too. The cakes looked delicious as well. We really enjoyed our food overlooking the beautiful beach.

First time we have tried the Cove Cafe for lunch. We were meeting friends here. It was a really lovely lunch. We had the steak sandwich, cheesy fries, fish soup and veggie pastie, followed by carrot cake. The fish soup was not like any fish soup i had tried before but wow - it was really tasty - so full of flavour. My other friend had the steak sandwich which was really well presented, good quality steak and very tasty. We tried some of the local ales on tap which were nice. We really enjoyed our time here. There is indoor & outdoor seating (depending on the British weather) and its dog friendly too. They also do breakfast baps here and coffee, cake, croissant etc if you fancy a light bite or morning snack. It is located right on the edge of the beach and you sit overlooking the beach & St Ives. It is small & cosy and has a nice vibe. Look forward to trying more off the menu here. Just really hope they stay open during the winter months.

I had to come and try this place after my friend ranted about a terible experience for 20 minutes. Contrary to his report the prices were quite good for the amount of food / drink provided. The Staff seemed happy and energetic and even offered to stir my drink. I will be back soon, great conditions.

Went to Cove last night for a steak night. Food was reasonably priced and cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was great and view amazing. Would recommend to anyone.

We got tickets to the steak night event and we are so pleased we did. Fantastic views, amazing food and drink friendly warm welcome and great value for money. We will be visiting again I think this is my new favourite spot in cornwall. Staff were fantastic and catered for everyone’s needs. Great outside and inside areas. Just fantastic.

It was raining but the view from outside deck area was worth getting wet for. Food good, hot chocolate rich. Staff excellent. Would have liked option of a full English breakfast, but then I am a greedy pig. Well worth a visit.

We were lucky enough to be there for the barbecue evening and it was buzzing with atmosphere. The food was great. Nothing was left over from us! The staff were working hard and remained cheerful even though they were so busy. I also attended pizza evening earlier in season and the same vibe was there then! Great stop!

Views to die for! Sunny 🌞 Cornish mornings, sitting on the Cove deck and watching the minimal morning traffic of beach goers walking to find their ultimate uncrowded spot on these glorious 5 miles of golden sands. The cove has amazing friendly staff with that laid back Cornish demeanour. Looking at the food being served around us plates are attractive and inviting. We sat and enjoyed fresh ground coffee ☕️ and prosecco orange juice while soaking up the morning rays and contemplating the better part of life. I would highly recommend this cafe and if you take the beach walk with the experience it will be one of the most memorable moments of any Cornish holiday.

Came for a family breakfast. Had a wide variety of dishes across the group, all tasted wonderful and were nicely presented. Service from the entire team was lovely and the view from the cafe is amazing. An absolute gem.

I visited here with my daughter for lunch. We had the whitebait and pulled chicken and slaw bun with some fries on the side. The food was really tasty and service great. This cafe has a really lovely chilled vibe and the views are unrivalled. A wonderful selection of hot drinks and the cakes looks good too! A definite haunt not just for holiday makers but locals alike !

Excellent food and service with an amazing view. Our walking group of 16 turned up at midday today, not booked, and were welcomed by the friendly staff. The menu was very good, plenty of choice and reasonable prices. The service was good and we didn't have to wait long, even though there were a lot of us. Well done Cove Cafe, we will return! Maybe give you a bit if warning next time! Thank you.

High quality food all freshly prepared at reasonable prices. Amazing view across the beach and St Ives bay. Friendly and welcoming staff throughly recommended. Shame there’s no toilet but a public bathroom is a short distance walk up the hill.

Lovely place set above hayle beach. Only used for drinks, ice cream and snacks but it was lovely . Great prices, lovely staff and owner. Defo worth the trek over the stones and up the steps. They do evening meals and cocktail nights. Might check these out next time!! Just what is needed on the beach!

Visited with 6 members of my family, 2 children and adults. The food was delicious, staff relaxed and helpful, beautiful setting and all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended 😊

We visited the cafe/restaurant during our stay between 14/8 and 21/8. The cafe is in the most beautiful idyllic setting, sitting just above the rock pools overlooking st ives Bay. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the environment had a very personal touch. The very best hot chocolate with all the trimmings was enjoyed on the beach after a cold dip in the sea and the odd ice cream was consumed. We visited on the last day of our holiday after being rudely turned away from a larger neighbouring venue in the area. The owner of the Cove cafe, in contrast, could not have been more friendly or accommodating. He squeezed us in on the outside terrace, which was perfect, overlooking the sea as the evening drew in. However, the weather wasn't completely on our side and the rain started to fall, so despite being fully booked a space was found for us inside to shield us from the downpour. The food was delightful, unique and very tasty made with fresh ingredients. We enjoyed 3 different pizzas followed by 2 very yummy desserts. The bill was very reasonable. Our visit to this restaurant was a perfect end to our holiday and highly recommended to incorporate into any visit to Hayle/ Riviera Towans beach.

We visited as a family of 3 on holiday. It was an absolute saviour as it was the most beautiful meal we have had all holiday! The service was fantastic and we couldn’t fault the quality of the food. Pizzas were fantastic!!! Thank you!

We were really looking forward to visiting the Cove Cafe and it definitely did not disappoint. The location of this little treasure is sat in a prime location overlooking St Ives Bay. The Cove is decorated simply and tastefully, perfect for the back drop of the bay in front of it.The menu is simple, offering a range of pizzas and Mediterranean style starters and sides.The pizza was the best I have ever had (don’t tell my husband, he makes good pizzas too!). Again the drinks list is simple, offering the best gin Cornwall has to offer along with various wines. One suggestion though…maybe offer a Cornish wine like Camelford, this would make it all complete.The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.We would definitely visit this little gem again.

We ate here twice during our three night stay. The location is amazing, pizza was outstanding and all the staff were lovely. No better place to eat, drink wine and watch the sun set. Oh - we were treated to a display by the red arrows, thanks to the G7 summit over the bay. 10/10Donna

Absolutely in love with this place! Me and my partner visited for dinner and we’re so impressed! Service was great, very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, and came out in good time! The view really made it for us! 100% will be returning! Great place!

My wife and I enjoyed dinner here. The waitress was very efficient and friendly with a welcoming manner. We shared a Margherita pizza and a meze board which were both delicious. The pizza was particularly worthy of praise and both were a feast for the eyes. Followed up with Eton Mess for dessert, which again was beautifully presented in kilner jars and tasted divine. The wide reaching elvated view across St Ives Bays is unique and breath taking. All in all a superb evening.

We were staying a few 100 yards down the coast so we decided we would have lunch at the cafe one day. The staff were very friendly and welcomed us and the 2 dogs. We had a loverly lunch and the views are to die for.My wife said the pizza was the best she had ever tasted.Would definitely re viat if we were back in the area

Visited a couple of times and arranged my husband’s birthday. The food is delicious and of a high standards. Professional staff with great knowledge and passion around food . Definitely recommend.

Lovely environment. Beautiful scenery and great food. Visit every time we are in Hayle which is usually 4 times a year.

A couple of years ago we stayed in Hayle and finding this cafe was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved the reasonably priced deli style food with amazing luxurious salads and sitting out on the grass verge and watching the sea. We decided to return to Hayle this year and our family joked that we were really coming back just to visit the Cove Cafe.However when we got there we were gutted to find it completely changed. First of all the menu had been redesigned to maximise profit and limit taste (think less deli, more sausage roll) and is significantly more expensive. We only wanted a light lunch but literally couldn’t justify paying so much for your basic seaside junk food. Instead we came back another day for an ice cream which was delicious but, again, overpriced. We also had to queue for a long time to be served.But perhaps the most devastating thing of all was the outside area. What had once been a peaceful grass verge overlooking the sea was now filled with decking, surrounded by glass walls and claustrophobically crammed tight with picnic tables. It’s no longer a beauty spot but now essentially a pig pen.It was heaving with people so obviously the redesign is working for the owners but it has categorically lost it’s heart and soul and that’s a real shame.

Lovely pitstop on a coastal walk around the SW tip of Cornwall. It's small so confines its offering to pasties and cakes  –  I was amazed to find vegan choices of both. Without being asked, we were offered extra plates and knives so that we could share. Staff friendly and the garden delightful on a sunny day with a proper pot of tea.

We found this cafe by chance and decided to go for breakfast then a day on the beach. The weather was great which always helps but the view and food matched it. We all had pancakes which were delicious and set us up for the day. We topped up later in the day with an ice cream also fro the cafe. Would fully recommend it.

I almost don’t want to share with everyone the perfect little spot for lunch or a cream tea but it wouldn’t be fair to keep it all to myself. The nicest food served by the friendliest of people. Sandwiches and panini to die for with the lightest scones I have had in years. Everything tasted great and I am fussy !!! extremely friendly staff who went out of there way to advise us on dietary needs. Overlooks the beautiful golden sands of Hayle and St Ives cost. We will be back.

Fell upon this beach cafe as we explored the SW Coastal Path. It sits on an elevated position so you benefit from seeing the whole of the St Ives peninsula. It has a lovely outside decking area that you can't eat out on. The food is yummy and easy to eat. Nice panninis and ciabbatas, fish and chicken goujons. My kids tried the wonderful smoothies which went down a treat. The food is a little bit pricey however this is easily offset by the affordable parking rates if you are spending the day at the beach. £2 for 4 hours! And the view. Would recommend you try this place.

This cafe is gorgeous. Lovely outside seating area on decking with chunky wooden benches. Was disappointed they had no umbrellas so as it was a scorching hot day we opted to sit inside. Plenty of indoor seating and loved the decor and the prints on the wall. The outside was such a sun trap I fear we would have burnt to a crisp. The staff were really friendly. We had pineapple and mango smoothies for £3.50 each. Ice cold which was perfect for such a hot day. The views are stunning. Can't wait to return.

We stumbled on Cove Cafe whilst walking along the coastal path from our Campsite. Coffee delicious, pasties, sausage roll and chips tasty. Welcome friendly. Great views overlooking the beach.

On its slightly elevated position in a little cove, overlooking a beautiful beach this place is lovely. They now have a pretty decked area which is so nice.

Good food and service great location recommend. Pancakes are great and ideal first thing could do with opening before 10 for breakfast though

Great service and great setting! We enjoyed the avocado on toast while the kids loved the pancakes and ice cream. The coffee was lovely too. It's a long way from Aberdeen but we'll be back!

Small but lovely menu, kids had pancakes and bacon. We had soft baps with egg, sausage and bacon, very tasty. Very clean and smart ... a must!

Amazing ice-cream, very good service and they take card which is always a bonus as don't always have cash in me.

This place is much improved by the addition of an outside deck area and new menu. A lovely place to sit with a great coffee and enjoy the view. The breakfast pancakes were yummy. Watch out the Bluff the competition is hotting up

What a brilliant place. OK so the sun was shining and the sea was the most amazing blue, not a cloud in the sky so how could it be a bad experience. But the owner and staff at the Cove Café couldn't have been more helpful or delightful. We were two vegetarians and one vegan and they managed to cope with us with a smile and some great food and drink. Iced water from the tap with out so much as a raised eye brow (other places take note). Pancakes, with fresh fruit and syrup freshly made, gorgeous coffee and a view that was just stunning. We will be going back to Cornwall from time to time and we will be sampling the delights of the Cove Café again and again.

Running an independent cafe in Truro, we know how hard it is to keep a busy place running and how many hours go into making a place inviting, and we've got to hand it to Roger, Nick and their team - they are sublime!

What an amazing find I was walking along the beach when I saw this cute little cafe. The staff were so polite and very welcoming even when they were busy the food is great and very reasonable and the view of st ives and carbis bay is well worth it. Looking forward to coming again.

On our first day in Hayle We decided after a long car ride to take a walk down the amazing beaches. Getting hungry after a walk for an hourish I see a cute little cafe hidden in front of the cliff, my boyfriend was saying it'll just be snacks and coffee. Well thank goodness I told him we have to try it, lovely place. They do not food aswell as snacks and coffee! We both had the Butter Chicken for a good price and a can of Fanta and a side of cheesey chips!

We popped in for lunch and we were not disappointed. Very efficient and friendly staff, excellent food and the most delicious cakes and local ice creams. I had the carrot and parsnip cake and I must say it was fantastic! We will definitely be returning. Well done Cove Cafe!

Had am amazing lunch here! The food was gorgeous and staff were very friendly. Being local, it's so nice to have a beach cafe that caters for both holidaymakers and locals alike; everyone feels welcome. It is clear that the 30 years that the owners have in catering, has added a real ambience to the food and the setting, they really know what they are doing when it comes to running this type of business. Look forward to coming back for a lovely brunch by the beach.

Staff are rude and make you feel like your order is an inconvenience to do, never have food ready, over long waiting times. Not experienced in the industry at all. Extremely over priced for a beach cafe. They quickly run out of stock and opening times are awful. Although it is a lovely location and building, hence why we have been coming for so many years, but they have taken the personal, friendly meaning away. People want a cheap, quick snack (throughout the day) to sit on the beach. Will not be returning again. Such a shame and a waste. If you want an expensive, restaurant meal you would go to a restaurant. This is neither a beach cafe or restaurant. They need to re think their customers.

We spent the day on hayle beach and popped up to the cafe, very friendly staff apologised for the wait for food, but they were busy so expected. Amazing views

Popped into the Cove Cafe this morning, we were going for a walk around the cliffs into Hayle, first time we had seen the cafe open this year. So we had a coffee and cake, both were delicious, and the new decked seating area is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. There was a good breakfast menu, and an enormous ice cream freezer for the beach goers.

This place is even better than last year with the outside decking overlooking the stunning beach food is consistently good, with a varied selection of drinks I intended taking a picture but when it arrived we dived in so can’t show you anything more than empty plates !! So decide to upload a picture of the view. Good coffee and then followed by some delicious ice creams perfect in every way will be back next Saturday

This place has been recently refurbished and looks brand new. A lovely seating area has been created outside and inside they now have a whopping selection of ice-cream! We had coffee, cake and ice-cream and all was perfect. The staff were very friendly and happy too. This cafe is a short walk along the beach from Riviera Sands Caravan Park. It's on the Towans.

We had a lovely lunch here ! Fish finger sarnie and feta &veg; baguette. The food was freshly prepared with good fresh ingredients. Prices are very reasonable. Excellent service from very friendly staff. The cafe is hidden away in the cove and has fantastic views - you need to follow the directions given on the website, but it is easy to find. Well worth a visit.

We have often walked down the road from Haven site down to the Bluff Inn, but as it was our last day of the holiday, we walked along the coast path towards the Bluff, when we spotted this little hidden cafe. We popped in and had a lovely cream tea, whilst my son had a double scoop of ice cream, lovely views from the cafe and toilets just up the hill. Will def pop in again next year of open

We found this gem one evening while on a walk and decided to try the breakfast next morning.

My daughter and I walked along the beach to this lovely cafe from Sandy Acres Campsite about 45 mins away. We sat outside admiring the gorgeous sea views and I enjoyed one of the smoothest lattes I have ever had followed by a delicious burger that tasted of top quality meat with crisp crunchy fresh lettuce served in a brioche bun. This place is clearly run by people who care about the highest standards of taste and flavours and must be making a big effort to source the best ingredients they can. This is reflected in the sort of prices I would expect to pay for this kind of food - this is not McDonalds!

Visited the Cove Cafe in August this year with my husband and it was fantastic ..... can not fault it! The prices were very reasonable and the food was lovely. Actually met the owners who were really helpful in catering for our needs. I have particular food requirements at the moment and they went out of their way to produce a meal that met my needs and was delicious! Loved sitting by the window and looking out over the beach. I would recommend this lovely and friendly cafe to anyone who is visiting the Hayle area!

Looks right over the estuary with a couple of picnic benches outside, a good number of tables inside, very clean and tidy. The owner was very friendly as were the staff. Fantastic big selection of ice creams and lovely food what we had.

We were racing the rain off the beach, ran into this cafe just as it started to rain! Had a lovely hot chocolate to warm up and a lovely chat with the owner (we presume) we spent a good hour in here although we were drinking tea the whole time there were people in there sheltering which wasn't a problem, no rush to move on as soon as finished.

Its never gonna be a cheap eat with such a spectacular location but it didn't break the bank. Good food good service, a little busy but what do you expect in August in such a location.

A hidden gem tucked away out of sight on Hayle beach. Enjoyed the coffee so much and the lunch menu looked so good that we stayed on for something to eat. The baguettes are so nice!

Spending the day on the beach can mean wanting ice creams or more drinks. Cove Cafe does this and more. Every beach needs a cafe similar to this one.

No sé lo que le pasó a la cala. La comida solía ser muy agradable, pero era horrible este año y no ofrecen una buena relación calidad-precio. £6 por un bocadillo de palitos de pescado con pan duro y seco.
