Great food, some of the crispiest chips I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area.

I'm sorry to say this but this was the second time in 3 months that we have tried fish and chips here and were disappointed both times. I wanted to give it a second chance but we had similar issues. The first time, the chips were very dry and tough, they tasted like they were old/refried. The batter was soggy but the fish was actually lovely, so that was a positive. This time, the fish was dry and hard, it was actually too tough to even chew at the end. Again it felt like the fish was old or refried and I couldn't finish it. It wasn't pleasant but at least the chips were fresher this time. I understand many people enjoy these fish and chips but unfortunately in these instances they weren't up to scratch.

Solid fish and chips with curry sauce. Chips were very good, curry sauce was exactly what you'd expect. They didn't have haddock so had to go with the cod. Batter was very wet on the bottom, but nice crisp on top. Would be very happy to go there again.

Edited and updated....from the best chippy I've had to quite possibly the worst these days, can't keep the glowing review anymore it's not fair on you guys. My food the last 6 months or so : expecially tonight (27th june) uncooked soggy white chips with definitely no batter on them like used to be, fish burnt yet slimy underneath an is very clearly frozen, just mush in your mouth...don't bother asking for a jumbo sausage coz they can't he bothered an will fob you off with 2 small, they are OK but no batter hardly it just dusts off...Peas are still nice an curry is lovely still. But I'm done now, I given up on both branches of the cousin jacks (camborne & lillogan. Sorry guys Tbf if the dad is on your getting a decent meal...he still has the passion an effort. The staff are always nice tho an up for a laugh.

We stopped by last week and had a phenomenal experience. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional - really kind and generous. Highly recommend!

Sorry guys you were really pleasant but when putting the fish and chips in the car it smelt of old fat straight away. The chips were lovely but coated in a layer of batter from dirty fat. The fish was fresh (small) but the batter was heavy with the fat. Was a overloaded greasy experience. From reviews was expecting so much more. Disappointed 😞 #an overloaded greasy experience# referenced the eating of them left with a bad taste. These reviews are a means to improve your food not to criticise honest feedback. An apology for substandard food would have been more appropriate.

Always brilliant service. Come down from Wiltshire to see family and every time I am here I always come and get food here. Fish is perfect, chips are the nicest chips I've ever had. Staff are helpfull.

The best fish and chips in the UK by far. No fish and chips are even close to these. Good price and they give out too much food, have to tell them to give me half of what they give out. Can't eat it all. Perfect 👌 I would eat from there everyday if I could.

Nice fish, chips ok, don't bother pre ordering on the phone, you still have to wait in huge queue (fair enough really or everyone would order) but they didn't have it ready when we finally got to the front, they had said they would.

Normally very good but can be disappointed sometimes.

The food was brilliant nothing wrong with it at all but one member of the stuff was a little bit rude to me. I ordered by phone so I thought I could just walk in and ask; so I did. Then he told me "you still have to que up" he said it so rudely!I never felt so embarrassed walking back out and que up. I had this lovely young lady that served me :)

Had to queue outside only two people in but no system. The food was alright the curry sauce was very watery.

Came today to buy some sausage and chips before our wedding day, jumbo sausages are small and the chips are 90% batter with hardly any potato. The third picture is all batter, no potato

On a break with family in Cornwall, saw this chip shop had good reviews so gave it a go. Bloody lovely fish and chips with mushy peas served very quickly by friendly staff…easily 5 out of 5 .

Hi chips were hot but ended up with lots of bits they were too crispy for us.. unfortunately we won't be going back soon

Cousin Jack's is awsome fish and chips. Only gave 4 stars on atmosphere because it's a chip shop and not a theme park. I would like staff to smile a bit more tho but still the best place

Really good fish and chips! We left with one small box of chips missing, we got home and called up, and they said to come back up, really polite on the phone then we came back they gave us a large! 10/10 customer service and food :)

The best fish and chips 🍟 in Cornwall in my opinion

Whilst on holiday went to get some fast food. Saw the reviews and decided on this. Maybe there was some confusion but I asked for a battered sausage as I looked in the display window I saw them. When we got back to our accommodation this is what I got given (look at the photo!) A baby battered sausage! We also ordered 3 cod. This was over cooked as it had a squeaky texture when eating. Chips were OK. Also lastly they have a 5 star hygiene rating. However on the customer side the walls are dirty and the light switch was filthy. It's not going cost a lot to simply replace the switch with a new one and wipe the walls. First impressions do last, especially when you're buying food from there.

I love this place!! Both the one in Pengegon and the one in Paynters lane. Went today and from the roaring laughter coming from within, to the lovely and happy staff. Enormous portion of chips with my chicken breast and that was cooked to perfection as were the chips. Best chips of any chip shop I've ever had and recommend it to anyone who comes here. Thanks so much guys, excellent shop and service.

Best fish n chips I’ve had in a very long time. This place was recommended to us by the owner of the holiday cottage we are staying in in Leedstown. He said it was a short drive but was worth it - he wasn’t wrong. Staff are friendly and polite fish was cooked fresh and the chips were plentiful.

Had high hopes for the fish and chips because of the excellent reviews. Unfortunately, despite the food being hot and plentiful it was really greasy. I wonder whether they fry in oil rather than dripping which would guarantee crispiness. Sorry perhaps just a one off but disappointing.

So..I lived around the corner from this place for three years before going in. If i'd known how good it was earlier, I'd need new trousers by now. Honestly very good, and I have high standards for fish & chips - this is as good as it gets. Crispy batter, chunky fish, chips crispy on the outside, fluffy to hollow on the inside. Spot on 👍

Great high quality food at fair price. Queues were big and order not ready despite phoning ahead. No doubt victims of their own success and should consider how to organise things better to improve customer experience.

Don't be put off by the location. Historically this the the heart of Cornish tin and copper mining. Dolcoath, once the deepest copper mine in the world at 3000 feet is less than half a mile away. Anyway, superb fish and chips, very generous portion sizes, often a wait, but definitely worth it. Parking a little tricky, but possible on the roads around the roundabout.

A great choice for traditional British fish and chips fantastic food but always seems to get rather busy so can be a queue, which is testament to the quality food served, as it appears to be liked not by the few but by the many. Keep up the good work

Great fish and chips from.here....we've come from gloucestershire for a holiday and all 4 adults agree it was probably the best fish and chips we've all ever had. Beautiful crispy chips and the fish was thick and moist with a fantastically fried batter. Shame its so far away as would definalty make it my go to takeaway.

Highly recommended the food was well cooked not very greasy and was really tasty.Got a little lost trying to find it but got there in the end it's just across from the park.Social distance being well handled.

Amazing chicken fillet burger and chips! Great contactless service, accepted card and cash. Sometimes the card machine is a bit hit and miss so might need to get cash out! Huge portions on the fish and chips too! Highly recommend
