No frills food with a local twist, with some food locally sourced. Separate breakfast and lunch menus, served in a cosy setting and with an ever present cake options.

Popped in as we were driving home, looking for a dog friendly venue to have breakfast. Lovely peaceful ambience and great food. The Coker Stack is highly recommended. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will pop in again when passing.

Had heard a few good things about this place but it was a bit of a let down. The eggs were very weak and not cooked properly, beans were cheap and watery and Sausage (as only ate half of one) was so tough. The best thing about the breakfast was the toast.

If I went here again I’d only go for cake and coffee not a light lunch . The room felt draughty and one member of staff was very nice but they were a bit slow to help us, I didn’t know if we had to go up and order or they came to us .

Our first visit to this beautifully decorated little cafe. Myself and my wife both had the full vegetarian breakfast that was superbly cooked and was made using good quality ingredients. Latte's were good and the service was polite and efficient. Only slight niggles for us were the lack of mushrooms on the breakfast and no Chai latte on the drinks menu. Cakes look really nice and the lunch menu looks good so we will definitely return in the near future.

Visited tonight to savour a special 3 course meal for just an intimate number of folk. Every course was plentiful and so delicious. Dad visits on a regular basis and recommended this cafe to us. Jane, Charlotte and Tina were fabulous hosts so I hope they do this again. Wish I lived closer as I'd be there every day

We just got back home from trying out this village café….. We were given a warm welcome and then our eyes alighted onto the wide array of scrumptious homemade cakes on offer. My wife was only going to have a coffee and a bite of my cake….. but once she’d tasted it, I knew any attempt on my behalf to retrieve my plate would be futile! After ordering a 2nd piece of cake, I thought it would be churlish not to succumb to a bacon bap as a starter. All in all, we’d found a gem hidden in the Somerset countryside. 👍

Never been here before but my friend had several times. We were given a lovely warm welcome by the owner. It’s gorgeous inside. Quite dark but very cosy and the perfect place for a catch up with a friend. Service isn’t rushed which I like. I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast which was delicious. Just the right proportion. Tea served in a beautiful China teapot and cup. I believe they also open some evenings so would be interesting to see what that’s like but I shall definitely return! Thank you. x

We go here quite often for morning or afternoon tea and cake. They are always very welcoming and chatty and it’s one of our regular places for a cosy cuppa in the Yeovil area. Tea and coffee are good, great selection of cakes including several that are gluten free options. Their specials board for lunches are good and they serve alcohol too. Thoroughly recommended.

East Coker is not on my normal route to anywhere but I am going to have to find a reason to go back. Many thanks

This is a place to visit every day if you can. Amazing coffee, wonderful breakfast, lovely lunches and afternoon tea and as for Sunday Lunch - it is just like your mum used to cook it! You can sit outside in the sun, or inside in the convivial atmosphere of a packed cafe smelling of coffee and home made cake. I just love this place.

What a sweet place! This is a really nice, intimate little cafe that feels almost like a living room. Large comfy sofas, and very family friendly - they had a few toys for my baby, who had a great time exploring. Tasty coffee, nice selection of cakes and a very friendly village atmosphere. I'll certainly be returning soon to try the food.

we have eaten regularly here both lunch and evening (friday only) - the evening was excellent both pricing and quality although it would be nice to have larger (250ml) glasses of wine on offer - we both had prawns in garlic as a starter and then seabass, finally finishing with coffee and a chocolate delight.

We visited this cafe to try it out as research to bring a larger group at a later date. Although we just came for coffee we decided on it as a lunchstop for the future visit.Liked everything about the cafe including the loo! The staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe even has a 'fridge full of milk which locals can purchase as there is no other shop locally.Drinks were good on this occasion and food on later visit though it was a bit more difficult for them to fully meet needs of group of 25+ at one time including special dietary requirements.

My husband and I were having a drive around and fancied visiting a tea room - Google sent us here. It was just the job. I had delicious hot chocolate and hubby had a good pot of tea. We both sampled the yummy lemon drizzle cake. Very satisfying and tasty. I wasn't keen on the plastic table cloths, but that's just a small whinge. Very pleasant place.

We first visited in April when unfamiliar with the area, this place was recommended. The tea shop is situated in a pretty village and easy to find. The coffee is freshly ground, the cakes home made and the service genial. What more could you want? A second visit today was every bit as good and the owner even remembered us!

According to our family history, my family lived in East Coker for 400 years, so a visit was long overdue, and on a beautiful summers day, there can't be a better place anywhere to take afternoon tea. Courtyard Café is an absolute gem - as is the gentleman who runs it.Our pot of tea and coffee and home made walnut cake was served outside. The choice of teas was impressive, and the china tea service we drank our tea from, delightful. We asked if there was a village history, and as there was only one left, the owner very kindly offered to copy and mail it to us at home. When we arrived, the ladies of the village were gathered inside around a long trestle table, working on arts and crafts, everyone laughing and talking. How lucky they are to have the Courtyard Café on their doorstep !

East Coker in Somerset is hidden very much off track among the West, North and South villages of the same name. Much of its origins are pre 16th Century and round each corner is a surprise. It has 2 churches, and my wife and I searched them out because St Michael's is the final resting place of one of England and America's finest 20th Century Poets, T. S. Eliot." East Coker" is the title of one of the Four Quartets which was written following a visit by Eliot in the 30's. The Eliot family originated in East Coker before emigrating to America. This provided Eliot with the link to his past. His ashes were interred in the Church in 1965 and those of his second wife in 2005. . Somehow, reading the Four Quartets aloud in the Church grounds gave an extra special personal enjoyment. . The Church is excellently maintained and is worth a visit anyway for those not on the Eliot Trail..A subsequent need for tea and something to eat led us to the Courtyard Cafe in the middle of the Village. Unpretentious, with a very cheerful greeting from Sue and Al Steele and we settled at a table.among visitors from the village and elsewhere. Exceptionally good sandwiches were made to order, there was hot food available and all provided with little waiting. It is unsophisticated; it is not the Ritz but it was a pleasure and rare find. What a delightful place to stay at. We stayed for a couple of nights to visit the surrounding area and had the friendliest welcome and comfortable stay. James, the waiter in the evening, was a credit to them. He helped you choose what to eat and was attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding, especially the fish dishes. The breakfast was the best we have ever had and was cooked to order with local produce. Cannot wait to return.

Booked for dinner but on arrival, they thought we had booked for buffet, fortunately they had a table for us within a short time so we had a pre-dinner drink in the bar, which is fabulous and then went for a lovely meal in the Bistro, it is a small and intimate restaurant and quite modern and food is served on hot rocks, which you cook yourself to your own taste. Nice concept and food was really lovely BUT find that it gets pretty smoky when it is very busy. This is not a unique concept to us and it was a very nice change. Service was attentive and good and wine selection is great. Little pub at the Langport Arms is friendly and wonderful for pre or post drinks too.
