Really disappointing considering how good it used to be. It used to compare to Darts Farm. Good portion sizes, but chips were undercooked, chicken nuggets were tough like they’d been reheated, fish was greasy and mushy peas weren’t edible.

Unfortunately there were 4 hairs on my chicken burger and 3.on the paper my chips were wrapped in .Could not eat my food as it put me right.off.normally very good but not today .

The food was amazing and the service was friendly & fast. I had the haddock and it was perfect moist & full of flavour, not over cooked and the batter was not greasy, the best fish I have had for a good while. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this chippy to anyone who like me can be fussy about their fish and chips. It was brilliant would give six stars if I could

Long wait. Best if you can telephone your order through. Mushy peas were the most startling emerald green colour. Lady was working very hard to provide a service. Fish and chips were all eaten.

Really love this one! We use this take away sometimes- their chips are really good and burgers too. Battered sausages are so good as well. Affordable prices. Would be fab if they has more opening hours! Glad it's in our local. One of best take away

Literally writing this 30 minutes after purchase. Planned to take our fish and Chips to Topsham which we did and when we got there the fish we unwrapped was horrific. Literally seemed like 2 pieces they hadn’t sold the previous night. Chips were good though but had to comment as the quality really was nowhere near good enough.

Unplanned visit. Great menu variety. Fantastic customer service. Highly recommended from the girls at brighten your day! 😁

Closed to often for a fish and chips. Just my business mind and advice. Flooded with business and good quality food. Just feel like the smile and personality of services and serving could be improved. So 3 star for fresh and tasty but smile maybe and chat to your customers and acknowledge those waiting in no orderly "que"

Good portion size and reasonably priced. Food was alright, not mind blowing but you cant really expect more. Parking is available right outside which is always a bonus

Ok, quite expensive for what you get but tastes quite nice. Could be run a lot more efficiently (ie: on entrance, order the cod so they can put it in and speed up the waiting times rather than serving 1 person at a time).

Cooked fresh, best sausage nchips I've ever had. My son who is the fussiest ever gave it a 9/10 n ate the lot... Wow! Def recommend 👌👌👌

Ordered a large portion of chips at £2.20 and got two small handfuls! Absolute rip off. Will not be going again.

Superb chippy that has great fish and chips with good service and a great price. Lovely chunky cod and great non-greasy chips - just the exact way this meal should be. It's easy to overlook this place but I think it's a hidden gem and well worth trying.

Miserable staff, consistently awful food. Disgusting for the prices they charge, purchased two large fish and both were just batter. Stay away.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but based on the good we had from here tonight We won't be returning. I spent the last 10 years working in a chippy, and can honestly say that this place doesn't know how to cook good chips. The spuds were full of black and rotten bits, and even the good ones were awful. Trying to be constructive, get good Maris Pipers, change your oil a bit more often, and get your oil hotter. Limp, soggy, yet overly dark chips means you've got something wrong.

Fish and chips really nice. Staff don't appear happy and not engaging.

Good enough fish and chips when you need a takeaway on the way home. A long wait without acknowledgement or smile often. Be better if order was taken to allow you to pay and sit and wait rather than being stood without eye contact waiting while orders are made up.

It's OK. Situated in a nice parade of shops, it looks a bit dated but clean enough. Has 5 star food hygiene. Guy serving was polite and helpful. They don't take cards, but there is a cash point virtually next door. Fish cakes were ok but sausage was a bit greasier than we normally get and the chips were a bit soggy. Certainly not the worst I've had. Decent sized portions and not expensive.

Never in the field of human catering has there been a Chippy with a more morose, miserable, sullen, unsmiling and unwelcoming staff, than in this place! The food is acceptable at best; the chips made from the smallest, cheapest possible potatoes, the fish is, its seems frozen, rather then fresh - unforgivable considering how close this place is to the sea! The fact that they offer 'kids happy meal boxes' is laughable, for two reasons; 1) a total lack of imagination as per Maccy Dee's, and 2) there is nothing remotely happy about them.........Given its location within Countess Wear, this place could be a gold mine and a top class establishment - its neither and doesn't deserve to be with the current management running the place, one can only hope it won't be for much longer!
