Tammy was fantastic. Really kind and helpful

I was blown away by Tammy who paid the balance on a drink for a customer who had not left sufficient money after helping herself to a drink. She, then had to challenge a gentleman who helped himself to a sandwich without paying. It all seems very unfair. At the very least I would expect Costa to install enclosed cabinets to avoid this constant problem for their lovely staff. It was very uncomfortable to witness and would put me off a return visit.

Really helpful staff, especially letting my autistic son have some stickers. Plenty of seating, you know what you're getting food and drinks-wise as it's a Costa. Keep your receipt as it has the code for the toilet on it.

I love Costa and it’s my favourite coffee shop, but every time I visit, there’s always a long queue. Since the recent makeover, there seem to be fewer seats, which makes it less inviting to stay. Unfortunately, this means I often go elsewhere instead.

Very busy, meh staff, no parking nearby, waste of time, much better costas on the outskirts of exeter

I ordered food for delivery, what usually takes about 20/30 mins took just over an hour to arrive. On top of that I ordered 2 hot items and only recieved 1 item and that was stone cold

i waited 25 minutes for one drink that tasted gone off maybe because about7 bottles of milk were left on the side for over half an hour without being used

Only had a coffee which was as expected I liked tye idea of heeding a ode to use the facilities

Refitted and reduced the number of seats, so not welcoming for families. Lots of staff but only one really working, so orders take a long time. Not worth the wait, don't both.

Typical Costa, although being in a main street is quite busy. Friendly staff, didn't eat so cannot comment on food.

Installed the new kiosk terminals and cramped waiting area.

Really nice drink from here today, a little bit of a wait but I didn’t mind. The staff seemed really stressed at the number of drinks to make and I honestly hope that people can understand the amount of pressure that the workers performed under whilst I was there

Waited nearly 15 minutes to order drinks only to be informed they didn't have them on stock. Poor service.

Great place to have a quick drink! I love their new bubble tea it's just lush and amazing! Best item on the menu in my opinion!

As those is a very central Costa, it's quite busy and always seems to take ages to get your order and seating can be sparse during busier times. Drinks and food are fine though, as expected.

When I have visited this costa i have never been disappointed in how nice the store is overall and how amazingly friendly the staff here are they all deserve a well good pat on the back

✨️I popped in to have a coffee ☕️ whilst waiting for a friend in town. Wasn't overall impressed compared to the other Costas (would recommend the Costa in Next down by Exe Bridges). There was only myself and someone else in front of me, not particularly very busy, and I was served quickly. However, pretty much all the tables were covered in empty plates and mugs, and there seemed to be loads of staff standing around at the main counter, not really doing anything? Just general untidiness and the staff just didn't seem to want to be there. Coffee was good but will probably go to another Costa.

I must admit I was disappointed when I walked in to find all of empty tables covered in empty cups and plates. There were two staff members behind the counter, with maybe a third on the premises, but at 3pm it certainly wasn't busy and I felt this could have been addressed quite quickly. The slice of cake I had was small and mediocre in quality (that is being generous), the hot chocolate wasn't that good either. The place just felt soulless like it had passed its prime, tired and not a desirable place to be a destination anymore. I used to hold Costa quite high in my expectations, but not anymore. A shame really.

I went in there Wednesday and I sat on a seat and I stood up and asked my friend is my bum wet it felt wet she said it was I went toilet and I smelt it and it was urian on the seat

So incredibly slow to get any food or drink here. Have been to this costa a few times now, each time thinking they would surely be better but no! Possibly the slowest costa staff in the world. Hot drinks or food are always cold befor they finish making the order.

It's a Costa! But not a clean one, been a few times and tables never seem to be cleared. Maybe there isn't enough staff for a busy city centre cafe.

Soggy sandwich and absolutely no atmosphere. Not particularly clean either. Will not visit again

Visited today 30th December. Huge queue and NO WORKING TOILET! No sign on the entrance informing people of lack of toilet facilities. Headed towards toilets after queing for ages and there was one big door with a sign saying "toilet out of order - sorry". For such a busy and full cafe serving food to a variety of customers I was amazed to find that they could continue trading with no hand washing facilities or toilet facilities.

Very slow service, served by a female who seemed stressed and unhelpful, supervisor even worse, toilets had a bin which was overflowing, really not a good advert for costa

Lovely staff and great selection of treats and food. The tables were stacked high with dirty cups and plates so they were clearly struggling with demand but we're cheerful and very accommodating.

Good service despite being short staffed due to staff sickness. Friendly and welcoming. Refilled the toilet paper when asked.

Clearly under staffed, tables had not been cleared in a while amd were sticky. Staff were also stood about doing nothing while there was mess everywhere

The coffee was good as usual,it was very busy with no interaction from the young staff, we were just a number.

Nice quiet atmosphere to start the day with.. the latte and croissant certainly helped too. Great service by friendly and attentive staff made for a very pleasant visit. Plenty of different seating options which you dont always get with some coffee shops, so found myself a nice couch in the corner and enjoyed my breakfast in comfort. A+ thanks.

So filthy. Coffee never tastes good here. How dirty it is actually is unhealthy. I don’t set foot in there anymore. Only people that go are people desperate for a sit down, free WiFi and toilet.

We visited mid afternoon not many people in there. Waited 10 minutes for 2 pots of tea, few people un happy with their service. Many tables left with dirty dishes which was preventing people from sitting in. Definitely not the best Costa.

Great service server even helped me learn to use the app which lead to a free drink always good!

I often go early on a Saturday morning to avoid it being too busy. Great central location, easy access on one level and plenty of seats.

It was really busy when I visited, but staff remained cheerful and made us feel welcome. The food and drinks were great.

What a let down. Took my daughter out for hot chocolate and cake. Should of been a pleasant experience. I sat down after paying and she brought over the tray. Cake in a bag...paper cups...no spoons no napkins no plates no forks no cups. I had to eat my cake with my hands. Tried washing them before I ate and only 1 toilet available with a que. They did allow me to jump the que to wash before I ate my cake. Plus charged for large of everything despite being told that they always ask which size drink you want....never...upsales.... never ever will I set foot in a Costa again. Hello M&S at least they know how to serve morning tea! Cheaper as well .

Can be tough to find a table but I love that they are open until 7pm - thats unheard of with other coffee shops in exeter. Ideal for getting a bit of post-work done or typed up.

Lovely Staff. Everything is prepared fast, though it’s the queueing that’s long. Drinks are always nice. However the only bad thing is that the cups are often dirty and tables are sticky.

Fantastic quality food and drink

Loved this Costa staff was amazing and managed to order without feeling pressure to rush. And when my son wanted to make his first purchase independently a lovely member of staff not only help him but eased him with a few jokes, which made mine and my children's day that much better.

We didn't eat anything but the drinks were tasty and hot. Place was pretty clean for the time of day we visited.

Great Gingerbread latte, shame they'd run out of the Gingerbread muffins.

Place was really scabby - flies crawling over brownies, dirt and dust in corners, serving area unhygienic and WC facilities broken (seat and flush). Bulbs blown everywhere and decor shabby. This branch needs a major deep clean and refurb.

Love this cafe, roomy and it has comfortable sofas are comfortable so are soft chairs. Very roomy. Their drinks etc are so good. Only one thing is the highchair is too slippery as my 6 months old kept sliding down unable to get comfortable so I felt it wasn't safe so had to fed her on my lap. Its ok for toddlers I guess. Its one of my favourite cafes

Excellent staff. Costa brought out a new drink with a rather unpleasant recipe. The staff at this store took interest in the fact we clearly weren’t enjoying our order and off their own accord offered to make us a different order. Was much appreciated!

I am such a fan of The Democratic Nation of Costa, with it's great value and fantastic tasting coffee, especially the new non-dairy milks, however I would like to issue a plea to the interior design team to consider sound & acoustics more carefully when creating their establishments. Due to my recent visit with a friend who was suffering with an ear infection I became more aware of this, hence my rare but I believe honest criticism

Great coffee and really friendly staff, can get a little busy at peak times so queues are likely, to pass the time i usually astral plane my conscience to another dimension and fight off planetary threats when I'm queuing.

We had a large coffee and hot chocolate. I tried my hot chocolate thinking it would be hot under the cream and it was only just luke warm. I wondered why the cream hadn't melted in to the chocolate! Even the coffee was warm!
