Worst experience anywhere ever. Manager insisted on charging full amount despite only wanting a cup of tea with family not drinking anything. Called us stupid C's. Unbelievable way to treat 3 pensioners. Followed us to car to check where ww were parked ( we had a dissabled badge) NOT NICE PEOPLE. CHIP ON THEIR SHOULDER AND TERRIBLE BAD LANGUAGE. Avoid.

Well I am sorry but there is calamari and BURNT calamari. I ordered calamari on 05/06 at 19.00 hrs, complained it was burned and told that is how the restaurant does it. Avoid it like the plague, dreadful. They knew it was not good but the managed Mac charged me anyway. They did offer to replace it but it would be the same. Hey ho, life nowadays, accept second best.

Awful cheap and nasty food, pizza was a basic pre made cheese and tomatoes and Indian hash was a low quality dry and tasteless microwave meal, took ages for plates to be cleared and even when the food was obviously barely touched it was just taken away, no questions from staff regarding why so either they know or just don't care.

Friendly welcome. Attentive polite staff. Food was from the value menu and was perfect value for money. Service was efficient. Atmosphere hard to comment on as was there around 5pm on a Monday so not very busy but was pleasant.

Food was good but I wanted a hot chocolate which by the way was on the menu, went to order it to be told that they haven't got any? They haven't been able to get it for a year? Maybe try and different supplier??

Was told a table would be 75minutes wait. We didn't wait but booked online for a table in 20 minutes? Rude staff?? We didn't use the booking. Spent our money elsewhere

Food was great, quick service and reasonable price. Kids loved the soft play and plenty of seats in and around the soft play to keep an eye on them

would give a zero star but I can't. the chicken was half overcooked and half undercooked and pink. don't get me started on the gravy it is so bad that is was dripping off the plate you cannot call that gravy; more like seasoned water (wasn't even hot) the Yorkshire puddings are rock solid couldn't even cut it up

Love a brewers fayre breakfast, I didn't feel there was as much choice as others I've been to, which is why I only scored a 4 out of 5. The quality was still good, and the staff were really friendly

Great experiance. Nice atmopstphere, good service and excellent meals. I had a mixed grill just this evening and wife had the Katsu curry. Wife really enjoyed hers and have to say the mixed grill was nothing short of excellent. Cooked exactly as asked for and so tasty, compliments to the chef and good value to boot. Thank you.

Food was really good visited a year ago and can say it was 100% better this visit will be calling again if they kept up the service from 13/10/23

Could have been better, but usually find it is hit and miss here. Either too busy, not enough staff, but when it's quiet they also can get it wrong. Staff are friendly. **EDIT** Visited here on 2/3/25. Booked prior to arriving. Table for 5. Ordered our food, staff were far busier talking to themselves and 'slagging' each other off! Sharing starter platter, not available, which we understand. Chips not very hot, eggs under cooked and food missing off meals, eg onion rings ... Not impressed, will be giving here a miss and certainly will not be recommending, which is unfortunate as we have had some good meals here.

I would avoid this place the services is very bad they think it's OK to take children food away from the table without asking and tell you the plates 2 was empty we had 8 kids and 2 adults in total the food had only been there a few minutes my kids were in the paly area manager was absolutely useless did offer a refund or anything will never eat there again

1 They think it's OK to take children full plates of food off the table without asking..when you complain about them to tell you that the plates was empty well if they was empty then. You wouldn't be complaining about it and for the manager to offer you no replacement and no refund they was quite happy for babys to leave there restaurant hungry after paying for the food and leaving on the table the kids went to play in the fun zone and I was sat at the next table there were 2 adults and 8 children ...we wad told that the 2 plates was empty that they had taken to the kitchen, so I asked them where the rest of the plate go and they couldn't answer us..they just keepted saying the 2 plates was empty.... so ether the rest of the plates was invisible are the menber of staff eat the plates before they got to the kitchen who know but 2 plates out of 10 made it to the kitchen 🤔 😳 🙄 I won't use this place again

Decent food for a great price and plentiful. Kids were happy playing in soft play . Staff were helpful and friendly .

My wife and I called into a Brewers Fayre restaurant in Lancaster to break our journey home and have an evening meal. On entering the restaurant we were greeted by the waiter, by him saying "Have you booked?" I said, "No sorry we haven't booked." The very curt waiter huffed and said "Follow me". He marched off and showed us to a table. "Sit here," said the waiter and he walked off. I didnt like his attitude. The table was in a dark corner and poorly lit. We didn't like the position of the table, so we moved to the next table, a more pleasant table with light above it. We made ourselves comfortable, and read the menu to decided upon our choice of evening meal. I ordered drinks at the bar, returned to our table and continued reading the menu. I returned to the bar again to order food and another waiter called Barry, said from across the other side of the bar. " Well, do you want serving or not?" I hadn't heard him say "Who's next." "Sorry," I said. "I didn't hear you, I wear hearing aids." "Come over to this till," he said, waving his arms at me. I moved around the bar and placed my order and paid. The waiter, Barry, then realised that we had moved tables, with his permission! "This is table number 31." He said." Yours is number 30, 31 is booked, yours is number 30. You'll have to move." I said. "There isn't a reserved sign, and number 30 is dark and uninviting, we would prefer to sit and eat where we are at table number 31 please. "You've got an hour, I'll need the table back at 6pm." He said." "Thank you, we'll sit here at table 31. I replied. The time was then 5.15pm. Our food arrived very quickly, and it was very good, so we ate it, and left the restaurant. On reflection, we will not return to that restaurant again. The atmosphere was unpleasant and noisy, so the staff had to shout at each other all the time when speaking to customers and their colleagues. After an arduous day and long drive, we did not expect to be treated as we were. The 'male' staff were very rude with an attitude problem, so unfortunately we will not return to that particular Brewers Fayre again. Very dissapointed. 😞

Popped in for Sunday carvery we didn't have a table booked. But a young polite lady found us seating for 2. The staff are all very happy and helpful. It was a great atmosphere. Food was great. Children's play area. Also ideal for wheelchairs with disabled parking outside the front door. Great restaurant 😊🍴🅿️👌😊

Just walked out of Brewers Fayre Lancaster without even bothering to order food. We had a 16:30 booking for 15 (7 adults + 8 kids ) As we were looking at menu to decide , as we always do , we sent the kids to the play area. They now decided that my 10 yr old daughter was too tall for their liking. I am talking about maybe 5cm over the cardboard cut-out ( the ones you have at amusement centres for going on machines etc ). . We are talking about a soft play area here where kids can climb , go up and down different levels. Nothing on their website about restrictions. There is no restriction about how young kids can be but they have found a way around this saying they would normally have an adult to chaperone ! So we ended with a 10 yr old crying her eyes out , not only due to not being able to go on with the other kids , but also because she was made to feel like being taller than the cardboard cut-out , at her age is something to be embarrassed about ! I am aware that staff who controls these areas are young people on minimum wages but talking to the manager who can see my upset daughter , didn’t help either. I would also like to add that we we paid £4.50 each per child on top of the meals we would order. Needless to say , rather than sitting there and watching my daughter cry , we asked for a refund for the play area and left the premises without ordering any food. So well done , Cottams Field for making a 10 year old feel rubbish and choosing to lose on 15 customer bill. In the past where wrong meals brought to the table , cold food or delivering adult meals first while kids’ meals were still been waited for , we never left a bad review but this topped it up for customer care. Never again 👏👏

I pre booked 9 of us in for Sunday roast. Absolutely delicious . Couldn't fault it. Great selection of meats and vegetables. Great price too.

Food was great came very quick been a few times and no issues .

The Sunday Roast was excellent. The stuffing balls are especially good. Plenty of meat and well cooked vegetables. This is the 2nd time we have been and will definitely go again in the new year.

Second visit this year, with evening meal on the Sunday & then breakfast next morning. Staff were welcoming and efficient both times. Meals were well freshly cooked, well presented and tasty. (Gammon steak, chips, peas, egg, pineapple/traditional "full English" plus juice, cereals, tea/coffee etc) Only disappointment was the early closing time of 9 pm, despite the website stating 10:30 pm!!! As such, last food orders are around 8 pm and the bar shuts down at 8:30 pm - and they do "kick you out" at 9 pm. (Apparently, it's in the "small print" - not good enough, hence my 2**, would have been 4**** otherwise.) Ample parking, good access all areas. Some of the banquette seating is shoddy, worn and foam showing through tears, in places, a refurb clearly overdue.

Exactly what you expect from a brewers fayre, cheap and cheerful. Staff are friendly, food is good. Only minor complaint is the slides in the soft play area generate so much static you get shocked all the way down! Worst shocks I've had and left my 1 yr old crying 😭 not sure how it could be fixed though.

Our issues started last night when my wife after looking through the allergy menu ordered a dessert with custard, and was rather rudely told that the custard had egg in it when we point out to the gentleman what it said on there own allergy menu he simple ignored what we said and my wife had to have vegan ice cream. Which In itself was not an issue but when I pointed out to the same staff member that they should update there allergy menu, he then told us there was egg free custard and my wife could have it all this came with no apologies and when the dessert arrived my wife still had vegan ice cream. This ruined an otherwise nice evening.

Nice staff, food good enough, venue in need of upgrade. Brewers Fayre a known place whichever you go to

Very nice place being honest like most pubs like these can get busy plus great if got kids . There is a area for then evan with tables in there so you can eat while they play

Arrived at the brewers Fayre 8:20 to be told last food order was 8:30 and we close at 9:00 kids holidays and you close at 9:00. Sorry but I won’t be returning here shocking service and attitude from bar staff. Told to look on brewers fayre website for opening hours. Please see photo attached. Absolute joke

You don't expect luxury when you choose Brewers Fayre, but the food quality was great, served well and value for money takes a lot of beating.

It is a good atmosphere and good service.

Got in, main staff treated us well, but the play area staff were drowsy, mumbling and half asleep while talking to me. He didn’t show much care about what I was saying and just let me on with my kid without bothering giving me any change!

We hadn’t booked a table but the staff quickly sorted us out , the food was ordered and arrived quickly and was very tasty , we had Haddock and chips . And it was reasonably priced.

We went for breakfast. It was an all you can eat type buffet. Full English with plenty of other options like pancakes and muffins or yogurts. It was very quiet so I couldn't really judge the atmosphere but the service was excellent my hubby walks with sticks and they carried his plate and drinks for him and offered to go and get something when they saw him struggle.

Well worth a vist ,the atmosphere is welcoming and staff happy and friendly, plus good food .

Atmosphere was OK really quiet and relaxed even with the football on! Our server was Callum and his 'service' was hurrendous!! I don't mind people who are laid back but this guy was rude, unattentive and had a 'can't be arsed' attitude! Felt like we were an incovenience! And had to ask for a highchair twice! And then when I went to order food and drinks at the bar he served me again and was yawning right in front of my face (this was 5pm so not early morning or a late night)...he said he will bring our drinks over but before he did I went to ask for the highchair for the second time and he had just poured our drinks, he put them on the bar and said 'eya you grab them' as if I was his colleague!! Genuinely think Callum needs to find a new place of work because his attitude ruined our evening meal to be honest! We were brought our mains by a lovely young girl though (her service level should be a standard across the board)

Food was amazing and staff super friendly.

Used to come here and eat outside with my dog often. Turned up recently and was told it has certainly never been dog friendly, despite the fact that a different staff member used to bring us out water bowl and dog treats on each visit...very odd. Was looked at like I was a liar. Won't be returning my custom here unfortunately.

We called in for tea on the way home from a busy day out. We were quickly seated and chose what we wanted to eat and went to order. I went to the bar to order and the young man was very polite. When o came to pay I said I had a blue light card with 25% off. The man’s attitude changed and he spoke to me in a patronising/cocky way. I paid the bill and went back to the table. I looked at the bill and wasn’t given the 25% off so I went back to the bar and the same young man said ‘you’ve got cheap kids meal deals’ (£6.49 for 3 courses) what more do you want?’ I explained it was supposed to be off the whole bill as that’s what my app said. He said it’s already off when clearly it isn’t. He wouldn’t do anything about it so I went back to the table for tea. When the food came, my children had veg sticks and corn as their sides. All of which were completely dry so weren’t eaten. We had scampi/fish and chips and had bread on the side. My bread was stale around the edges. We tried to get the attention of waitresses walking by but were blanked so just left it. Once we had eaten someone came to take the plates away and I said about the veg and bread and the reply I got was ‘oh, have you ordered puddings?’ The children had ordered puddings and we had to wait 20 min for them to come. All very nice until we had a blue light card. Won’t visit again.

We ate here on our way to and from Scotland to break our journey up. Both occasions we had evening meal and breakfast . No complaints from us for our food. All the servers were welcoming and professional , they have a great team here ! Big shout out to Sophie who was very friendly to all her guests - she also remembered us on our second visit.

What a fabulous place! Was expecting the standard brewers fayre type restaurant but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and it was cooked to perfection. There's a small soft play type area in the restaurant for the younger ones to burn off some steam. Staff were brilliant and I couldn't ask for more from them. Definitely worth a visit

Poor generally. General feeling that the staff couldn't wait to finish. Couldn't get a pudding because the kitchen was closed, staff didn't advise it would be closing. Brought out main courses before collecting the starter plates and before we had all finished our starters. Sweeping the floor around us while we were eating our dinner a good 45 mins before they were due to close. Won't bother again!

Only problem I had with my visit was the attitude of staff, particularly one guy who puts on a fake smile, not great customer service at all, won’t be back in a hurry!

Wouldn't recommend for a special occasion, food was bland, missing items, onion rings overcooked and oily, I asked for new ones to be made and they did, but the first bite of new badge and I found they fried a first layer of an onion, the one that is usually rotten and you put it to bin, how cheap you must be to fry it serve to customer, over 3 pounds for 6 onion rings and you get one thats rotten. Staff were only pretending to be nice, all our visit I felt like a huge inconveniance and bother to them, just a middle finger was missing when a waiter brought 3 pouches of ketchup and threw them on a table. I did say thank you and sorry. Also why do you have to go and order at till and pay prior when there are 5 waiting staff and 3 only tables taken. May as well bring my own sandwich next time. Oh wait, we're not going back, almost forgot.

Nice straightforward and affordable pub food. Menu has a really good range with plenty of options (salad instead of a burger bun, anyone?), bottomless soft drinks, nice staff and speedy service. Only gripe is that the menus were sticky and unpleasant.

Worst place I've ever eaten we got 2 children's margarita pizzas and a sharing platter of barbecue chicken wings which was what looked like 2 iceland 49p pizzas and 4 little chicken wings to share between 2 people and the food cost us nearly £20 absolutely disgusting. If I knew how to I'd of put a photo up of our food

Food nice. 2 female staff were absolutely useless. Just talking to each other. No smiles. Nothing polite. Really put us all off!!!

Booked a table as my hubby wanted to take me for dinner after I had been at work all week to be told by a member of the kitchen team not to bother going has all bookings had been cancelled due to a medical emergency in the kitchen and that there was only 1 member of kitchen staff on This is the 2nd time this has happened as the first visit was for my birthday at the end of may and was told that there was nothing available for over 2 hrs and had to find somewhere else to go for a meal for the family will not be going back. The first visit staff were very rude and not very helpful.

Took our son this afternoon for lunch and for soft play. Food was fine. Came to soft play and the staff measured my 8 year old son and denied him access because he was too tall by half an inch. Had to console my son in the car whilst he sat asking ‘I’m just a kid why can’t I play’. Eight years old and that’s how you treat him. Disgusting staff.

Stayed at the Premier Inn so chose this for ease. Typical pub food nothing special. However, I'm Coeliac and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive for gluten free evening meal and breakfast.

Tired, food ok but potions small. Expensive for what it is. Staff disinterested. Play area past its best.

I recently dined at Cotton Field Brewer Faire and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that created a cozy yet upscale atmosphere. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Now, onto the food—absolutely divine! For the main course, I had the [Main Course Name], and it was hands down one of the best meals I've ever had. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced and delicious. Very busy due to it being fathers day. Didn't quite know what to make of it as I've tried other brewers fayres in the past and not got through the door as staff were uninterested. Here however, friendly attentive staff and interior of pub clean and tidy. Due to the amount of people I expected to wait a while for food but both meals came out within 20 or so mins so quicker than expected. My portion of Katsu chicken was a little small for my liking but overall piping hot and generally tasty. My mother had the steak and ale pie with chips and peas and was a decent quality for the price paid. Overall better quality food than some higher priced table table pubs we have visited in the north west. Would visit here again

We always have a lovely time here. The staff really look after you. The soft play is fab as well and the food is always really good quality. Its always a great experience.

Not a bad place to get a simple meal. The only problem we encountered was the poor attitude of the guy taking our order behind the bar, obnoxious at best. The rest of staff seemed pleasant and the food was OK. Pity one bad apple can ruin the experience.

Called in here for Sunday lunch when driving from Leeds back home to Aberdeenshire. Booked a table online when we were at Forton services and arrived early but seated straight away. We both went for the carvery, large for me, and everything was pretty much spot on. Good choice of meat and the veg was ok by carvery standards, decent choice and while some had obviously been sat there a while it was tasty. But seriously whose idea was it to mash parsnips with carrots, parsnips are the devils food and should never be allowed to tarnish my carrots. They also serve Guinness zero, from a can, which definitely compliments the meal. 😁

Called in for food after returning from a long day of walking . Ordered a couple of mixed grills and a kids sausage and mash . Food tasted great specially the gammon ! I would recommend anyone eats at this restaurant .

Liam helped me with me my little boy , my toddle was being hard work about a beetle (found outside ) that’s he wanted to save ) and Liam got us a cup to “save” the beetle .. May not sound like much but when you have a child and someone helps ?? It’s amazing !!! Thankyou Liam !!! Amazing service

Good food but rude staff, Paul the man doing the carvery is so rude and would give you paperthin slice of their meat for an adult size serving. He spoiled the whole experience of wanting a good time with family and friends.

I come here every week to enjoy bottomless cups of coffee and a good chat with a couple of friends. The staff are attentive and friendly and we appreciate having a chat with Nicola whenever she’s there. I’d recommend it

This is a Brewers Fayre. It is the same basic food everywhere so won't review that. The staff however are fantastic. Friendly, chatty and efficient. Not a bad Brewers Fayre.

I had my son's second birthday party the value was great & the atmosphere was good. The kinds enjoyed their food. Great for adults to drink and lunch at the same time too. But most of all, what topped it off and made this day Extra special was the man who hosted the party and looked after us from our booking at the start right until the end. His name was gaz,he was absolutely fabulous. He couldn't have been more attentive and helpful.Great with kids. would highly recommend.

I have been comimg here ever since i was little and everytime it manages to please. Would totally recommend to all ages, particularly families as the soft play area is brilliant for kids.

Food generally was good, but the coffee machine SERVED LUKEWARM COFFEE!!! Ruined the whole experience. Otherwise food was good, and so was the staff, and atmosphere. Bad Coffee really ruined the experience, makes me think twice about coming again.

Hygiene training required. The male greeter on duty cleaning tables but doesn't replace all fresh cutlery from the previous customer. We was staying next door at the premiere Inn and had two breakfasts and a evening meal. So glad we was leaving that day.

Delicious breakfast and very friendly service from a local lady in charge who was interested in our day out in Lancaster (we are from elsewhere in England). Toilets really bad though. Please fully refurbish both men and women's toilets.
