Fantastic menu, food and service

Went for lunch. We had the fixed price menu which gave great gluten free options.

Very nice lunch here in Cote today. I found the food very nice, we ordered pork belly (delicious 😋) tuna salad and burgers. The atmosphere was excellent, very elegant place, Monica was brilliant, very professional, she made us feel home, and she recommended me a delicious dishes. It was a great experience.

Everything was just great. Awesome service and they took care of our requirements very well.

Whilst they had taken a booking for a Xmas party on the day they said they could not accommodate for this in a single section and left the party separated. Many mains were cold during service.

This chain of French cuisine meals tick all the boxes. We had a lovely meal and we will be returning. It’s also in a central location and a great canal side setting after a shopping trip.

I had the Christmas 3-course menu and I loved it, absolutely delicious! The service was so good. The zero% beer and blood orange soda was also good. I am in food coma, so I have to visit again to try more from the menu.

Very warm but also very busy midweek lunchtime presumably for Christmas get togethers. Staff were attentive as best they could be given how full it was. Would go again but probably not for Christmas do!

Good service and food, what you’d expect from Côte.

We had a large table booking (16) and they served us relatively quickly (it helped that we'd pre-ordered our food) and with a smile. Would return and would recommend. However, coincidently I had a booking in Cote Woking the following night and the presentation there was so much better. The camembert had a sprig of rosemary atop (but not in reading) the turkey ballotine did not look undercooked (unlike reading) and they came back to check if we needed anything like cranberry sauce (unlike Reading). There were a few other bits that made Reading less of an experience than Woking E.g. the spot lights that come on during a power cut kept coming on right above our head, not nice.

Great food, good service. Was a bit hot and loud, but given we were there with Christmas parties & it looked like they were packed, it was understandable.

Amazing Food, Drinks, Atmosphere and excellent customer service hence this was our second visit for our works Christmas dinner. We'll probably go next year too !!!!!

We came in today for our work Christmas lunch and the whole process, from ordering the food - to on-the-day delivery has been so accommodating and understanding. Service was a little slower in places, however we still enjoyed immensely (also, there was 30 of us! so..) We will definitely be recommending to other colleagues in future. Merry Christmas!

Went as a group and spent about £1000. Had sea bream and although it was very nice, not much to it so asked for some fries and they charged me. After us spending that amount of money, thought it was a bit low charging us for fries. Well that was your tip, and lost our custom next year.

Food is ok, service just terrible. Been waiting for over an hour.. the main/entree finally arrives. Servers seem to extremely non-responsive (French vibes?). Also, does steak get served with coriander? For a slightly higher price point the London Street Brasserie is a significantly nicer experience and way better food

I have been to Cote in other areas before and always enjoyed the experience. This is my first time at Cote in Reading, and it is now my favourite of the chain. We went for a work do and we had 14 people on the table. First, the atmosphere: not too brightly lit, so it gives a nice warm feeling when you enter. It is a bit like a nice pub. The service: Excellent. The pre-orders were taken a week earlier, and they had printed our names and orders in advance (nice touch). The waiting staff were attentive, but not so much that they got disturbed us constantly. The food: I had the Crab Maison to start followed by the Sirloin Steak Deluxe. The crab was subtly flavoured, allowing the flavour of the crab to come through. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare (those with medium done were impressed too). Again, there is just enough seasoning to allow the flavour of the meat to come through. A friend had the vegan burger, which he said he really enjoyed too. Overall, the experience was incredible, the food was excellent, and the service was perfect throughout. Thank you, Cote Team.

Met my son and his family here as a halfway point. Food and service were both very good. Clean glasses and sparkling cutlery. Food was good value for money. Nearby parking. Clean toilets. Disabled access to the ground floor part of the restaurant. Bill was £140 for 4 adults and 1 child including drinks and service charge.

It’s rare to give a chain restaurant five stars But this restaurant is really good! What impressed me most was that even when the entire restaurant was full, the level of service did not diminish. The food is also delicious, and you can even order a meal deal on Friday night. It is really a conscientious restaurant, and it can be regarded as a canteen that you come to every day.

You know what you get at Côte and their restaurant at Reading is no different. We came here for an early dinner and had a relaxing meal and a nearly empty restaurant. But staff were on hand and served us well.

Great food at reasonable price and lo lovely service.

Côte Reading is a great place to eat. The last time we did so it was a rainy Friday morning. The team that work there are always polite, friendly and efficient. The food was great too. Being a rainy Friday, the place was a little quiet but we had the choice of tables!

No cash accepted. Clean, spacious French restaurant with a good ambience. We had excellent service on our visit. We hadn't booked and only had about 75minutes before we watched a show. It wasn't a problem. The food was really good apart from my scallop starter. Perfectly cooked scallops but on a bed of whole peas(not purée), bacon and apple. It was a convoluted mess to look at. I didn't finish it. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

I visited this branch on 18/09/2024 in the evening. We were welcomed by a very attentive manager. The atmosphere was amazing, but nothing compared to the team! The blonde girl and the guy with her who were serving us were so lovely and asked us how our food was going, if we would like more drinks and so on. It was our anniversary as well that day and the manager brought to us two glasses of prosecco rose (I think) which was lovely! We received a very warm welcome! Thanks so much :)

This was the second Cote brasserie where I have eaten. We had 3 different servers, all of whom were lovely, accommodating and professional. We sat outside. It is nice they have blankets should you get cold. Ordered the charcuterie board which was ok. The salami was extremely hard. Do not think it was fresh, however, the prosciutto that came with it was delicious. It was served with cold carrots and pickles which we did not eat. My father had the ribeye with garlic butter and he loved it. I had the fish parmentier. It was not what I expected, although good. It had prawns, haddock and salmon in it. It was all together in a crock with the potatoes purée on top. It gave the feeling of a shepherds pie. I did not like the pieces of salmon. However, over all it was a lovely meal. And would visit again and try something else.

Disappointing. The service was good, the waiter and the manager were really nice. The food was very average and the presentation was poor! Also, for what we ate and drank, it was expensive and didn't represent good value...shame!

Food and service absolutely excellent

Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter sister and niece celebrating my daughters forthcoming wedding in a couple of weeks, service was excellent with helpful friendly staff, food delicious and excellent value and surprised us with a complimentary glass of kiri Royal, such a lovely touch, thank you to all of you at cote for making it so special

Cote is always a good idea. We visit Reading Cote often and the staff are so kind. Food is great, I can't wait to come back.

What a great find. Delicious food- so much to choose from, and friendly efficient service in very spacious, pleasant space. We'll be back!! ...We have returned many times since and now we note the inclusion of Fair ethical spirits added to their extensive offer.

We rarely go anywhere else but Cote. The staff are welcoming and pleasant, the food is always reliable with a good selection and represents excellent value. A welcome change from the boring pasta/pizza places.

Delicious 2 course set menu priced at £17:50 with bottle of cider each😋😋 We both started with dressed salad with poached egg, warm bacon and sausage pieces..... followed by steak with garlic butter and frites for one ....and haddock with new potatoes and sauce for the other! Marvellous food, price ,service and outlook over the river at Reading🤗🎊🥂

Hi guys, So me and my family were seated by Monica who was absolutely brilliant and our table was managed by Martyna who was also not just brilliant but super friendly, warm and funny while we were there and everyone from my family loved her so much that we will not only come back within 6 months but next week! I loved the atmosphere and the food was lovely!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We recently attended Cote Brasserie for an 'End of year' lunch with work (17 colleagues booked). The whole experience from booking; to sending over the pre-order form; to the accuracy of the food on the day was fantastic. The team even printed out everyone's choices onto placement cards which we found extremely helpful. Everyone was also able to pay individually which again, was so helpful from the team. We will definitely be coming back and consider Cote Brasserie for our end of year lunch for next year. Thanks again to Monica, Mahesh and the whole team for being so fantastic.

I was a little suspicious since it's a chain, but this was legit French food for reasonable prices in a very nice restaurant. The scallops were fairly light on scallops but heavy on petits pois and a delightful beurre blanc. The moules frites were English mussels, impeccably fresh, sauce just right in terms of shallot, wine, and cream. Excellent wine list and serving ware. Servers were very helpful, though they could use a bit of help with the French pronunciations. Good view of the pedestrian path along the river Kennet.

Everything was really good. Staffs were nice and friendly. Food and drinks came really fast. Food was really delicious. We enjoyed the ambience as well.

Food quality was good, but the portion was small as compared with price as I ordered fish only, but the fish portion and chips 🍟 are not enough

It was my first time visiting Cote and it was for breakfast with friends. We loved the Garden breakfast especially the harissa beans (we definitely need more of that). My friend chose the gluten free option and the staff took extra care which was appreciated. The french toast with berries blew my mind. I am not a huge fan of egg and was sceptical about it but there wasn't a hint of egg. It tasted wonderful. The staff were very attentive and kind throughout.

I enjoyed a relaxed lunch. The team were attentive but not intrusive. They did charge for a glass of wine we didn't have but when I pointed it out it was corrected. Usual good service. I have eaten here many times before and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Will definitely be back.

The only reason they didn't get 5 stars for service was because the person who booked the table, and had mentioned the fact that it was to celebrate two special birthdays, had to mention after we had paid that the birthdays had not been acknowledged. Some of our party had already left the restaurant and missed the special treats which followed.

Convenient, affordable and efficient. The menu is fairly extensive and there is something for everyone. It was open quite late which I appreciated needing a dinner at 9pm.

The fish stew was excellent, don't recommend the olives, but they were fine. Great wine selection and great cocktails!

We had such a brilliant time for my mums birthday. The food is exquisite, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to pav our waiter who was so accommodating and help with the menu (coeliac life!) but who also made this an extra special birthday for my mum and our family.

Visiting the French restaurant Cote in Reading was an exceptional experience. The friendly and attentive team made the evening truly special. All the waitstaff were attentive and welcoming, with Pavel standing out as particularly engaging and pleasant to talk with. The restaurant's meticulous attention to detail was evident in every aspect. Each dish was a true delight, evoking genuine admiration and showcasing the chef's and his team's expertise. My visit to Côte left me with a wonderful mood and positive emotions. The unforgettable aftertaste of the dishes was simply remarkable!

Outdoor seating and excellent service. Cote is cote if you know what I mean, the 5 stars is for the wonderful gents on staff today, getting to sit and enjoy starters, mains and wine without feeling rushed on a Friday night, food was fresh and delicious.

Delicious breakfast with lovely attentive staff.

Food was delicious 🤤 Friendly staff can help you to choose from the menu. But the cheese plate for one looked a bit poor in terms of the amount of cheese that was served. Apart from that it’s a great place to spend an evening.

We are regular visitors for special occasions and we have never been disappointed in the food or service.

The service and food were outstanding. We had the French onion soup, olives, ribeye with peppercorn sauce and garlic butter. The steaks were cooked perfectly medium. Great location as well! Parked in the garage nearby.

Amazing experience as it was our anniversary and requested online for surprise and manager in the end gave the surprise and also Sushma was amazing who looked after us. Great food and great team.

My husband, son and I came for breakfast this morning. The staff were lovely and so kind to my son. On that note the envelope with pictures to colour and puzzles was amazing and great at getting kids to practice a bit of french. The food we had was cooked very well and my husband even said it was the best breakfast he'd had out in ages (french toast) and he is very fussy. I unfortunately had to share most of the salmon off my breakfast with my son but luckily cote is very generous with the amount you get. Will definitely be returning!

Absolutely love Cote, and eaten in all three fairly local to me. It's a treat when I go, but would eat there 3 times a week if I could! Staff are amazing and work so well together creating a better experience every time!

Food serving is not much for the price, but lovely and friendly staff. The chocolate mouse is really good.

Popped in as I was on a business trip. This restaurant is situated along with a number of other bars and also a cinema. Food was excellent and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Visited on Saturday 16th March 2024. Asked for mussels as a starter, which wasn't listed on the menu, and they obliged. Delicious & tender. Ordered Duck l'orange and beef bourginon, both were hot, tasty and both the duck and beef were tender. Had Sassy apple cider in a bottle, and that was delicious too.

We had a staff dinner, the food was amazing, and there was a great service and atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

It was very nice experience I went for valentine date with my wife and we both enjoyed it the only thing that wasn't nice is our main meal arrived after we ordered it with more than 45 min (which isn't the norm as I can say) but rather than that everything was very nice

We always get a warm welcome and the food and service are top notch. We had the French Toast Berries and the French Toast Bacon and both were delicious. The French Toast options now come as a stack so even better value for money 😊

Cote Brasserie in Reading was a great dining experience. It is so much better than Cote in Newbury. The food was amazing. The service was exceptional. The whole riverside setting is a wonderful experience....even in the rain! Newbury is dead..long live Reading!

Brilliant! I didn't want to go, my wife did, so we went, as you do. I realise I'm playing to a stereotype but she was right and I was wrong, it's fantastic. Staff lovely, food delicious, get yourselves there.

Always a predictably warm restaurant with great french style food. Relaxed, classy.

Bone idol staff. Order coffee, sat outside. Waited 10 minutes. Nothing arrived. Untied my dog and left. 3 people working the restaurant with only a few customers inside and still can't be bothered to serve.

The steak was succulent. would have liked a bigger portion of salade with at least some cucumber and tomatoes in it.

We love Cote Reading for family celebrations & anniversaries! The prices are competitive & menu is rich with culinary options! The only weakness is possibly the desserts but the main courses are great! Recommend drinking the lower cost table wines with steak & chips for an appetising meal! Close to the Oracle Mall with River Views & large multi storey car park or else short 10min walk to Reading Station! Enjoy!

Really nice as always. Never seems to be too busy, so getting a table shouldn't be an issue, even if you don't book in advance. Really nice selection of traditional french food and drinks to accompany it. It's definitely worth checking out the specials, although everything I've ever tried on the standard menu has been excellent too
