Côte Chichester in Chichester

Always the same great standard in Côte.

My first experience of a Cote and I was disappointed: think Cafe Rouge with slightly less tasty food. The food was fine, but in no way exceptional: in fairness though the set menu is good value for money The service was efficient but our waiter had a rather passive-aggressive manner and clearly doesn't enjoy his work very much and hasn't received much training in how to speak to customers.

The food was extremely good and the waiters Kai and Tom were friendly and the service was quick

Never had a bad meal at Côte. Today was no exception, with lovely, caring service and the food was fabulous. Crab maison fresh and clean tasting and the beef cheek - wow!!! Al finished off with a lovely little trio of deserts and a coffee. Fabulous! Just a couple of things to add - please put the frozen berries and white chocolate and the Bergerac wine back on the menu!

We were warmly welcomed into this restaurant and enjoyed our food. Even though they were busy, the wait times for our meal were not too bad at all. There was a good ambulance and the seats were also comfortable.

Excellent value for money. The restaurant is also heated to a comfortable temperature which is important. We don't want to eat wearing outer clothing. Already booked again in 3 weeks time

I went for my 40th birthday and booked a table for two and it was the first time visiting a Cote Brasserie. It was amazing and is now one of my favourite top places for food. I've heard really good things and they didn't disappoint. The service was attentive and excellent. Friendly staff, clean restaurant and quiet with soft music playing in the background. I like secluded cosy corners and was seated at a table tucked away dimly lit which made me happy. I hadn't asked for it but was happy they had little nooks. They greeted me with birthday wishes and gave my guest and I complimentary Prosecco which was lovely and made me feel special! I forgot to take photos because the food looked and tasted amazing so I jumped right in! We ordered olives to share, the gluten free fish parmentier, beef dish (not gluten free for that one) and we both had the passionfruit and lime creme brulee topped with caramelised pineapple. I can recommend all of those. They were incredible!!! Portions were perfect sizes, aromatic flavours, quality ingredients and tender fish and meat so soft it melted in your mouth. Auf deutsch " Ein Geschmackserlebnis!" The server was great and helped me choose my main when I couldn't decide. I ordered a pinot noir carafe which was delicious. The bill came to just unser £100 for two people which I thought was really reasonable for the excellent quality, 2 mains, 2 desserts, 1 starter and a carafe of wine and attentive service. As a big bonus: I really liked that there weren't any screaming kids running around. There were some well behaved quiet children in the back of the restaurant but generally I got an adult friendly vibe and I really appreciate that. I also didn't hear loud and vulgar profanity from other guests which makes me think it is slightly more upmarket with nicer clientele which is what I was looking for. I can't wait to go back and try my next dish! Thank you, Cote Brasserie Chichester for making my first visit exceptional!

Our server Ligita made sure we had the best experience. The ambiance was lovely, the staff are wonderful, friendly and the food is impeccable. We cannot praise the place enough.

Popped here for lunch and we chose from the set menu which for 3 courses for £22.95 is such a bargain. The food was excellent, the ambience lovely and the service was impeccable. Can't wait to go back soon.

Been to this place many many times over the last few years. Never had any issues really until my last. My usual order of pork belly came out looking as tasty as ever but as I started eating it under half way through I was disappointed to find that in fact most of it consisted of just fat and no meat. First time this has happened but the way my server dealt with it was disappointing to say the least She exclaimed that sometimes depending on the cut its fatty and nothing they can do about it. As bluntly as that. No offer of a new one or trying to resolving it to a satisfactory standard just a robotic ‘we can take 10% off’ and that I could order more food but will take a while to come out’ the 10% went back on the discretionary tip anyway that I wasn’t pedantic enough to request it being taken off.

Had a really lovely dinner here tonight the food and drink was faultless, super tasty and great variety on the menu, everyone enjoyed their meal and the price came to £50 a head for 3 courses and drinks which we were all very happy with, great value for the standard of food, the only comment would be that the service was a little on the slow side and maybe a little cold but honestly nothing that impacted the experience and we would all certainly be coming again!

The food was beyond what we had invisaged from a chain restaurant...the food was superb and on the whole very good value for money...we will certainly be going again. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were very attentive.

My son and I had dinner. It was exceptional. The staff were very attentive. The food was delicious, especially the triple cooked chips! We'd never tasted chips like it! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Cote!

Perfect for our family Boxing day meal

The Christmas menu was not up to past experience and the service average. The staff all could do with a make over and smartened up.

Today 14.12.24. On the 8th of November one of our friens booked a table for today's lunch here at Cote Chichester , so that's over a month ago... Upon booking they had to leave their card details and give a deposit for the number of people and were told that there would be a charge of 10 pounds per person if we cancelled with less than 72 hours notice. Then on the 24 November, Cote wanted us all to fill in a menu choice Form, but on the 25th we were told by our friend that they now wanted us to pre order individually the food we wanted to eat three weeks later, so my poor friend had to chase the 12 adult and 6 children so that she could give them the order in advance...how do you know what will you or your children fancy to eat in three weeks time? Never mind. Our order for food was placed three weeks ago. Today when all friends sat at the table already knowing what we would eat the last thing we expected was for some of the food wasn't available as they ran out...the wrong food turned up, the service was very poor. They didn't even apologise for serving the wrong food nor for running out of food they should have reserved for us THREE weeks ago! We were not made feel welcome and the portion today were ridiculous even too small for a child...no food whatsoever in our plate and we pay a lot of money for it. Shame you treat local people like this as it won't do your business any good! We will not come here anymore and will definitely pass on the message to our family and friends of this unacceptable experience with dining out here at Cote Chichester.

Our favorite restaurant in Chichester. It’s big and we never struggle to book a table. We like to come early to avoid evening rush, we usually start our dinner at 5.30-6.00 pm. Food is exceptional, my favorite dish is beef tartare as a main 💜 please, never stop selling it! Great service as well. Sometimes at a peak time (7-7:30 pm) it’s hard to catch a waitress to order more drinks but we know they are doing their best to please all guests. If you sign up for newsletters they send some great deals 😉 Excellent restaurant! Well done.

Came here for lunch, had the “two courses for £17:50” deal, which was very good. The pumpkin soup was smooth and creamy, and the fish was perfectly cooked. My dad has several allergies and they were extremely accommodating and careful.

Food received was acceptable. Service however patchy partners main course was wrong. Order of coffee did not arrive. We were given a discount for errors but as there was only two of us very disappointed. Can see issues arising as with Christmas rush approaching.

Honestly disappointing. It's not much better than pub food, but just with dimmer lighting and more formal service. But of course, more expensive. I had the duck confit, and it was nothing special, and disappointing for 20 Pounds. It's not bad, but I wouldn't rush to go back.

Two of us went for lunch it was quite busy but we managed to get a table. We ordered two burgers one vegetarian one meat. The vegetarian one was supposed to come with truffle mayonnaise chopped onion and pickle none of which were in the burger. My partner had the meat burger and she said it was good. Overall it wasn't a bad place for lunch but I did notice that tables that had been used were left for a longtime before they were cleared.

Last night we celebrated my fiance's birthday.We received champagne on the house, unexpected and pleasant. Tasty food, calm atmosphere, friendly and kind stuff. We will definitely come again. We loved it here at Cote Chichester! 💙

Verg good service and it was my birthday, my friend and I had a glass of Prosecco on the house.! Very nice Food and Staff were nice and attentive too. We thought the Female Front of House was grumpy though.!

Sadly a solid "meh" from the moment we walked in to leaving. And 10% service charge added for our convenience (for 4 of us). Much could be improved by a smile from the front of house staff.

Had a beef bourguignon which was burnt on top . The beef underneath was OK as was my wife's fish stew . But while we were there another couple sent there food back as undercooked and not warm enough. Remember our last time there were problems with the food. So next time we're go to Blanco Brasserie as never had any problems with the food or the service 🤔

Côte is a go to for me. As a chain I’ve always been guaranteed of a clean, well maintained and cosy space, good quality food and attentive but not intrusive service. Unfortunately the Chichester branch didn’t quite hit the mark. On entering and being seated the place seemed less than clean. The table was a little smeary and the menus when they arrived were old, torn and covered in grease spots which was unappetising. In ordering a Gin & Tonic I was asked what kind of gin. I asked if they had Tanquery and the answer of “nope” was extraordinarily dismissive and verging on rude. I was then informed they only had French gin which was less than helpful. I wasn’t aware and was not made aware there was a separate Gin menu. The food was ok, my Steak was a little in the chewy side. The charcuterie board, which we shared, was uninspiring and when my Dad’s Moules Frites arrived they were sorely lacking in frites. To put into context it wasn’t a disaster but the disappointment was amplified because I usually look forward to visiting a Côte Brasserie because they’re usually, dependably good. The Chichester branch feels lacking in the details

We love Côte & have visited many times at different ones. The food & service was good. Just what you’d expect really. I do find with Côte restaurants that they are pretty consistent.

A party of 8 of us turned up on a July Monday evening, we were able to sit together and we were treated well.

Prix fixed menu. Good value, good service and good food.

Breakfast - disappointing to say the least. It used to be so good here. No wonder it was nearly empty at 10-30am on a Saturday. Coffee was good, breakfast menu is awful though (pretentious) and we both got anaemic sausages, which we daren’t eat as they weren’t cooked through. Bacon was nice but whole breakfast was nearly cold by the time we got it. Other than that, perfect. Surprisingly we won’t be going again.

I am visiting with my sister while I'm on holiday from Australia. This restaurant was absolutely charming. The service was brilliant and the food was exceptional. Our waiter, Isaac, was delightful and attentive to all our needs. I hope to come back while I'm in England. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very good food and excellent service, returned to take advantage of the Mon-Wed steak offer; whitebait to start and a sirloin with peppercorn sauce for me, grilled chicken for my partner, excellent service again!

Excellent food and drinks. Amazing service, very well trained staff , elegant approach when dealing with clients. No children running around, no loud or disturbing groups. A classy place to truly enjoy a meal .

First experience at this restaurant. Whilst food nice and service acceptable albeit a tray full of crockery being dropped by one young server, it was only when I got home found a service charge of £16 - £4pp had been added to the bill. Would like to go back but above slightly puts me off.

Extremely slow service. It would have been faster to drive to the seaside, hire a boat, catch a fish and cook it than wait for our meal (fish parmentier, chicken salad, haddock goujon, pasta bake). The pasta bake included pasta but it was definitely not bake, rather just fusilli with a sprinkling of peas in a curdled cheese 'sauce'. The french onion soup was inedible even after adding hot water to thin out the sludgey mixture (perhaps they got the ratio of hot water to soup mix wrong). The waiter told the kitchen we wanted ourstarters first then the main meal when we had actually asked for everything to come as soon as it was ready. The manager refunded part of our meal which was a kind gesture but does not make up for lost time. I do not recommend eating here at all.

We ordered beef bourguignon and all is dry chewy meat. And ordered sirloin steak, it’s overcooked and meat is not good as well. They used to be delicious , but really disappointed this time, what happened to this restaurant? Updated after 9 months, I visited the same place again and everything seems better than the last experience, including food and service, so I updated my review to 5 stars. Great job!

Amazing place to eat. Excellent service and food! Having returned to eat there recently our waiter, Jamie went above and beyond. He was amazing with my mum! A credit to their team. The food was fabulous as always.

Went for an early dinner whilst staying overnight in Chichester. Fancied something of quality and not Asian or Italian. Having been before a few times, Cote sprang to mind. We mixed and matched from both A La Carte & Prix Fixe menus. Great tasty food, well cooked & presented. Service was attentive. There was a glorious French Onion Soup, charcuterie board and my salad Nicoise with fresh seared tuna was spot on. I opted to finish with a 'cafe gourmand' - 3 little bites with a coffee. This chain provides consistent quality and a genuine French feel.

The steak was poor quality and more well done than medium. The salad was ridiculous and a couple of tiny leaves.

Isaac was our waiter and very friendly and helpful. We will return.

Went here for a quiet dinner with my wife. Food was amazing and service tip rate. The scallops starter was incredible, the rib eye top notch and their take on the creme brulee was really interesting. Great service and will always come back for another meal!

Joe made us all feel very well looked after and my son was especially pleased with his high fives and jokes. The food was delicious and the children's menu was great - real food and not 'junk'. We will definitely visit again!

Really disappointing. What used to be our favourite place to eat is now somewhere we will not go back to. Negatives : change in breakfast manu(garden breakfast on the new menu is truly disgusting), cups that are not washed properly and to top it up dog hair in my food, my husband asked for poached eggs instead he got hard boiled, things that were nice : a croissant and streaky bacon with toast. I would recommend eating somewhere else like Bills in Chi or The Deck in Emsworth.

The best thing about Cote Chichester for me is the exceptional customer service. The food is great but it's amazing to see the wonderful ballet of organisation that goes on in the restaurant, to ensure you are catered for.

Following several visits welcome, service and food are consistently good and prices are competetive.

Recommend for the table d hote menu good value and tasty. Would not recommend for breakfast menu, food not as good and despite manager pulling out all the stops not well supported by waiting staff.

It was my Birthday and my friend treated me to a lovely meal. My first time of visit to Cotes and loved it was a lovely treat.

Since changing hands it's gone very much down hill from what it used to be. Had to advise them what a soup spoon is. Food not up to the price asked. Lamb dry.

Had a great experience today in this fine establishment. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was beautifully presented and tasted sublime. I would happily say this is one of best restaurants in Chichester.

Fishcake was lovely but the rest was not good at all . Very tough meat and that’s after we’d upgraded the steak which is a shame as staff were good and did replace it but still tough and chewy, we’ve been so many times before so felt very let down this time!
