Cote Brasserie - Reigate in Reigate and Banstead

Went to brunch sat b4 mothering Sunday. Was soo busy there...Great food garden breakfast and a. Few sides...yummy...coffee and jokes with waiter about availability of alcohol free beers...served by Tom and others.....we waited a bit longer but hats off to staff for staying cool when it was busy.

Very poor food , service bad, no one else in restaurant . Birthday lunch… the birthday girl asked for a complementary drink . 8 of us there and he said he could only do 2 free drinks . We spent a lot of money . Would not recommend

Came for a Mother's Day lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Our first table was quite close to the crockery and cutlery and there were no issues moving slightly further away to be quieter. The food was delicious starters, mains and desert were all fantastic. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would definitely come back. My mum was also given a complementary box of truffles which was a nice touch!

My family and I went for breakfast at Cote today. As always the staff were great and the food was lovely but the service was awful!!! We waited an hour for our breakfasts. Which to be honest is unacceptable. The waiter did apologise for the wait but there were not enough waiters for the amount of people. I felt very sorry for the waiters as it was such a struggle with sparse staff.

Birthday breakfast, friendly and welcoming staff. Good food and drink served in an attentive manner to mark the occasion.

Great food and the service was excellent. Unfortunately I was sat next to a couple of so called business men who were just trying to 1 up themselves and we're just ignorant of the surrounding people.

Food was good. Menu was different inside than was advertised outside. But not too much of an issue. Service was OK.

Had a reunion with some friends we met on a cruise and what a wonderful time with gorgeous food and drinks.

First visit here and really impressed

Just had a lovely breakfast at Cote with my best friend. We’ve both been doing Dry January and wanted to treat ourselves in our final weekend. Really tasty food and great coffee plus a warm welcome and goodbyes. We’ll definitely be back after Dry January to enjoy a glass of champagne with it too.

We have visited Cote Reigate on many occasions in the past and have always enjoyed the experience. With reliably good service and quality food, our expectations were high and we decided to book again for my partners birthday. It was a Tuesday evening in January so not particularly busy. We were shown to our table by a lovely young lady and then our experience changed - we were left for 10 - 15 minutes without any contact and no drinks order being taken. Eventually our waiter turned up and apologised that we had been left, and we proceeded to order. My partner ordered the confit duck a l’orange and I ordered the beef bourguignon - this wasn’t available ( this was after the table next to us that there was no fillet steak) So I chose the poulet gratin. The food arrived and when I cut into the chicken there was blood near the bone on one of the two pieces of chicken. I explained and showed the waiter and was asked if I wanted a new portion or this one cooked more. As our sides had arrived and my partners meal was ok I opted for them to cook the existing dish more. After a while the dish was returned with an explanation that the chicken was not under cooked but sometimes near the bone there is blood but it was not undercooked. I was aware of this but said I preferred my chicken with no blood visible. Hence there was no apology. Unfortunately the kitchen had cooked both portions of chicken more and the second portion was now really overcooked and the gratin sauce was overcooked too and was less creamy but more oily. It was a shame that this happened on my partners birthday as it put a dampener on the evening. This was a real shame and this was the first time I have ever felt let down by an experience at Cote Brasserie and particularly Cote Reigate - I sincerely hope this was a one off but I’m not sure I’ll risk another special occasion at Cote!

Disappointing. Visited for breakfast. The bathrooms were dirty with no hand towels. The food was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Much cheaper, inferior ingredients with corners cut. Won't be returning.

The Côte in Reigate is definitely one of the best I have visited. The quality of food and standard of service are exceptional. If all the Côte's were like the one in Reigate, I would visit others more often. Thank you for providing a wonderful experience and taking care of us so well.

Wide choice of breakfasts, we had 3different kinds and all were delicious. French toast and various pastries were all freshly made and still warm. Coffee was excellent and waiting staff friendly and efficient. It’s a few steps out of the High street but worth it!

Usually my go to Cote and never had food issues, but today the breakfast was so horrific I won’t return to this one. Full breakfast - bacon was severely undercooked and bland. Potatoes were rock hard and barely warm, tomatoes similar. However the scrambled egg was particularly horrific and in no way cooked correctly, it was swimming in a pool of water and the white was slime and translucent. The whole dish was tasteless. Staff as usual polite and resolved the issue, but it’s embarrassing that the chef is putting out such sub par food.

Awful experience. Work Christmas lunch. Drinks spilled over us, food cold, slow, surly service and finally they tried to overcharge. Managed was not interested in even coming to our table to sort the issues. Waiter got agitated and was very ‘off’ with us. Always loved Cote and they could be relied upon, won’t be returning.

The food was good, but that's kind of where it ended. The music was wrong for the venue and croud. As soon as we arrived we were told the kitchen closes soon so we'd better hurry. We were rushed thru our courses. While we were still eating, the staff were closing the bar, emptying glass bottles into bins, very loudly, the held the two front doors open, so it got very cold. Surely, just because the kitchen closes, doesn't mean the WHOLE restaurant shuts down and forgets the paying customers that are trying to enjoy their, very rare, night out. Sadly, I give you a 3 out of 10.

This was my first visit to the Reigate branch after needing somewhere local to eat. The staff were fantastic. James G (I think - that was the name on the receipt) was the best waiter I’ve encountered! He was incredibly polite, very friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly and tasted brilliant! My only comment is that it was a shame the Xmas set menu was 3 courses and didn’t have a 2 course option!

We always enjoy Cote and now it seems to be our first choice for an 'ordinary' meal out. Good value, good service in a good atmosphere. What's not to like?

A lovely lunch was had again today. All was good for myself, my husband and a friend. As I am in a wheelchair, I would like to thank you for all the help getting me in and out of the restaurant etc.

George the manager and his deputy were very attentive.

Good food, attentive service, pleasant atmosphere and will definitely go again. Only downside - all felt a bit rushed.

Firstly there were so many items on the menu that were not available, e.g. Beef bourguignon and French onion soup. We were not told of everything that had run out and when we came to order we had to hurriedly change it as two of our choices were not available. These were their staple main courses. We had two children with us but not impressed with the portions. Starters. oK but took a long t.I’ve to clear and had to wait sometime for our mains. Although t.he potatoes were hot the vegetables and our main meal was cold. Very difficult to get service throughout the meal and finally the bill was incorrect when we eventually got it. Very disappointing. Finally I felt really hassled about my booking. Had a reminder day before, then a text message 20 minutes before, then a phone call 10 minutes before whilst on our journey. Too much as I had already acknowledged the day before that we were coming!

The food is simple & has subtle taste! A refreshing change!! 3 Course meal for my wife & myself cost £72 The Staff speak with each other in a very loud manner (Shouting!). Easiest to park in the public car park on the opposite side of the road.

Best restaurant in Reigate for sure. Food and service are absolutely amazing. The stuff are really friendly, engaging and accommodative. A bit pricey but it was expected. However, the quality is on another level.

Came in with my family and was our first time visiting Cote, cannot fault the food it was simply delicious and presentation was on point. The manager James who served us was outstanding. He was attentive, funny and made myself, my wife and children feel very welcome. Gave great recommendations on the dishes as well as desert. Will returning. Thanks James

As a regular customer of Cote for years, this was not the usual Cote quality/service. We had to ask for the Prix Fixe menu; the a la carte menu was the only one on the table. The sauteed potatoes were undercooked/hard. Also, all of our coffees were too strong and not at all like Cote coffee. Shan't be visiting this branch again.

Always love the food at Cote. The Breton fish stew is my go to comfort food. All their french classics are very good. Friendly waiters and good ambience. All Cote restaurants are Good value for money definitely.

Returned to our local Cote's to celebrate a new job. Nice warm welcome - didn't seem to have too many waiting staff which always makes alarm bells ring. One of the starters (calamari) was ok. The other starter - crab maison - wasn't so nice. Crab was tasteless and watery, "fresh" herbs on top were dry, wilted, tested odd. Not great. Mains disappointing - both dishes. Lamb fillet was very fatty, meat tough/chewy. Beef bourgnignon was cold, beef was tough, mash cold, side vegetables cooked to within an inch of their lives! Did inform the waiter the food was cold which was met with "it's very busy, that's why". Unpleasant and unimpressive sadly. Desserts were nice but not standout. All quite forgettable....other than the £200 bill!!! Wouldn't rush to return. With everything so expensive, this was a shame as we can't afford meals out too often right now. Wouldn't recommend.

We ate at Cote on 11th October, 17 of us for a work meal. We had a fantastic experience, we were well looked after from the minute we walked in. Our waiter was attentive throughout. The food came out promptly for all of us, and was fresh/hot and delicious. We ordered a range of mains and puddings, and everything was tasty and enjoyed by all. For a large group I was concerned about the service/quality of food, but everything was perfect and we will absolutely be back. Thank you!

All of my previous tripadvisor reviews have been exceptional but not this time. Went to cote for a Sunday brunch.. truly awful. 45 minute wait for vegetarian brekfast to arrive - poached eggs rock solid so breakfast sent back and requested fried eggs instead. Second breakfast even worse- fried eggs crusty and oily, a teaspoon of guacamole and four massive slices of brown bread which covered half the plate. We politely declined the second breakfast and left the restaurant - appalling standard of food and service.

Nice to see relatively healthy eating options in a chain restaurant. We ate off the set menu, which we thought was excellent value for money. Our waitress was very attentive and allowed a minor substitution on the menu.

It was our first time eating here and it was wonderful! We were given a choice between 2 tables when we arrived and weren't rushed into making meal choices or between courses. The environment was comfortable and stylish. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our server, James, was simply fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious!! It was a lovely evening and we will be back!

Went for dinner here with a friend. Food was nice (normally find that Cote is a safe bet, no matter which branch you visit) but the atmosphere was non existent as we got put into the back room of the venue, with no other customers. Wasn’t great at all. Also had another strange experience at this branch, where the venue was about 25% full, yet we were told all the empty tables had in fact been booked up, so they couldn’t seat us. Seemed pretty unbelievable as it’s a big venue.

Lovely food, lovely staff and service!

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a well deserved mid-afternoon visit and opted for the Prix Fixe menu, which allowed us to share the calamari starter, have two main courses (sea bass for her and minute steak for me) and share the delicious chocolate mousse to finish. All the food was of good quality and well cooked and presented, and the service was friendly and efficient. We are happy to recommend.

I used to call in on a regular basis on my way home from work but after one of the waiting staff made an offensive personal comment to me last time I was there. I will not be returning.

Went there for a birthday dinner. The service was friendly and quick. Amazing food with big variety menu that caters for every taste. The beef bourguignon and steak tartare highly recommended! The French cider is also really very good.

Breton fish soup excellent, fish pie tasty but smaller than expected.

1st visit just passing by after trip to Brighton. Stopped for dinner. Nice calm atmosphere. Food was good. Service by the manager was welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

The service was satisfactory, however, the asparagus special starter was overboiled (or was kept for a long time in water), the main tuna was decent but from the dessert (which was really tasty) I would have wanted to look more presentable (and not have something on my plate that looked like a toothpaste - see image). Considering how much money we paid for the dinner (for three people) it would have been nice to see some effort put into it.

Had a lovely meal at Côte , our server James was brilliant, amazing service and had a lovely chat with him.

Wonderful menu and friendly staff! The sea bass is my favourite!

This could be a lovely restaurant but we did not have the chance to find out. We wandered in for brunch without a reservation. Only about 20% of the tables were occupied but we were told that there were no “walk-ins” as they were down on staff in the kitchen (although there were a lot of waiting staff standing around..). This is fair enough but please put a sign up outside so clients are aware. I did then ask if could we book a place online and the response was “well we won’t be able to stop you…” but the vibe was very much that it wouldn’t be welcome. So we decided to find elsewhere. Better communication is all that is needed at these times.

The food is always wonderfully good. And the staff are so helpful and attentive. Just been for a Christmas lunch, really very good. Still great!

Have been going to this place for years but place has gone down considerably. Last few times have been refused entry cos of staffing issues. Visit Horsham branch instead awesome service and food 👍

Was a lovley night out, they were short staffed and apologised as we were seated but had they not mentioned it we would have never known. Amazing service and food.

I’m never disappointed at Cote. I am a fussy person and I can’t fault it. Much better than many London restaurants that cost more. Please keep up the good work!

Tried to get a table with my husband around 11.15am. Restaurant looked empty but was told there was no space for walk ins. Then proceeded to make a booking on OpenTable for 11.30, which was easy to do. Went in and told the waiter who then told me that even though I now have a booking, it would be difficult to serve me as they are short staffed and there would be a considerable wait for my food. I found this extremely rude as they only had a handful of tables occupied. In the end I went somewhere else. I also came about six months ago and despite being the only guests, my food took almost an hour to come and when it did come, it was completely over cooked!! Never coming here again. Used to come here loads for their breakfasts but in the last few years, restaurant and staff have really gone downhill.

The beef cheeks were too salty for what I like about French food, I didn't finish it. It would be nice if they have kids menu as well.

My starter beetroot salad was old. The waitress was really nice.

Enthusiastic and caring service. A well thought through menu, with lots of good fish, and a good wine list to suit. Good to see it so busy and deservedly so.

Lovely, Steak Frites with Peppercorn sauce. James contacted me earlier in the day to confirm the booking. On arrival was extremely friendly and welcoming. Service was unobtrusive but professional. Helped to make a lovely atmosphere and family gathering. Will be going back. Thank you once again from all of us.

Waited ages to be served and when dessert was brought they had made a mistake with my daughter's food. They replaced it which took 20 minutes in which time I had eaten mine! They said sorry but didn't offer to give it complimentary because of the inconvenience! Kept saying that it's all cooked from scratch as the excuse! Not impressed as although I hinted that we were missing our time outside because of the wait they said nothing. Won't go again.

We had the set menu on Valentines day (a very busy day for restaurants) and the food and service was excellent! Great value for money. No complaints at all. Thank you.

An extremely beautiful place. most restaurants in Reigate are small, noisy, and Cote is different - pleasantly surprised. The waiter is also very friendly and sincere. He suggested a wine which I liked. The food is somewhat simple for a French restaurant and adapted to the local consumer. I expected more refined dishes. But everything was delicious, except for the offered ketchup and mayo for the chips. I'm disappointed. It would be very useful for you to introduce more refined and tasty sauces than ketchup and mayonnaise into the menu.

My all time favourite restaurant for date nights! The food is elite, the service is second to none, staff are so attentive but not over the top! Overpriced and food was average, waiter was rude when we decided to look at the dessert menu again.

The staff were great but the food was below average and not worth the price. Several items were off the menu but we weren't told about this until we'd been left with menus for 15 minutes - so disappointed children to try and appease! The staff really were nice and attentive though so probably just an off day in the kitchen

Today's lunch was beautifully cooked and tasted so fresh. Fish stew with bread: warming but not heavy. Always so impressed by the consistent good quality of this brand

Staff are meant to know who orders what. We had to raise hands to receive our food once it arrived. School dinner stuff. When staff deliver one further drink they're not meant to slam it on the table. Hospitality? Hmmm

Friendly staff Stylish Good food selection

This was the second time visiting Côte Reigate, and after our first visit, everything has improved tremendously. We visited on NYE and everything was to the high standards Côte set for themselves. The staff were very attentive and informative, and the complimentary glass of fizz was a very nice touch! Not the cheapest of restaurants in Reigate, but definitely worth paying the higher prices for!

We used to love coming here as the food service and coffee were great. Last 2-3 months coffee always bitter and service is very slow not to mention cold eggs

This restaurant is so gorgeous and has a lively yet calm dynamic inside. It is spacious and the tables are great, far from each other and the staff are extremely friendly and competent. The food was delicious and the portion was perfect. I ordered steak and fries and it was cooked just the way I liked it. I totally recommend going!
